If it wasn't for the urgency of the situation, Jaune would think that he and Zwei were out for a jog; beautiful trees, the cool night air of Japan, and the splendid view of Kyoto below. Well, unfortunately, they were running for war.
Zwei though looked happy with his usual smiling face as he led Jaune to the location where the Demon Slayers were gathered. It didn't take long to finally arrive at the scene where Jaune saw a group of people, from humans to yokai wielding katanas, and a tense feeling in the air.
"Jaune!" Jeanne suddenly called out as she jogged towards him with the gang, "What happened back in the camp?!"
"Everything went south." Jaune simply answered, "Adam, how is Lady Yasaka?"
"…unfortunately even with your warning, she was kidnaped under our noses, literally." Adam had a look of frustration and a hint of disappointment, "Dimension Lost truly deserves the title of Longinus."
Jaune frowned as he witnessed the power of God's Weapons, especially this one's utility; Incarnate Anthem and Absolute Demise are powerful, extremely so, but they both lack flexibility.
"So, I can only assume the worse for the True Longinus."
"The spear that actually killed a god? I believe so." Adam commented but was cut in by the Vatican Residents
"The spear only pierced Christ after he died." All four said at the same time.
"Still…"
Jaune thinks about how to find them, especially with how tricky Dimension Lost is… they can be anywhere in the world right now doing horrid this to Yasaka.
"…ah, Jaune?" Jeanne interrupted, "Who is this little doggo?" she finished with a cutesy pitched voice.
Jaune saw Jeanne lifting Zwei and started to play with him as the corgi barked and licked her face.
"HAHAHAHAHA!"
"Guys, this is Zwei. He was the dog of Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long." He introduced the dog as Lint scratched Zwei's head.
"Wait?" Lint looked surprised, "so he is like you guys?!"
"Yeah… and he also has aura."
Suddenly, Jeanne's smile vanished as she looked at him with a cute pout and a dash of envy, "Oh Come On! Even dogs get aura! That is so unfair!"
"Jeanne, we are from Remnant remember?"
"But you guys are also born here! Heck, we both shared the same womb at the same time, yet I don't have aura." Jeanne pouted even more as her jealousy fully shined through.
"Don't worry Ms. Arc, every yokai here is jealous of my aura too," Adam commented.
"But nowwww….. Lint has aura!"
"That is my Sacred Gear, Jeanne" Lint sighed as Jeanne doesn't know how it feels to maintain her balance breaker.
Jeanne continued to pout as she cuddle Zwei to her bosom.
"So, do we have a quick response protocol?" Jaune looked at Adam.
"See there?" Adam pointed to looks like a red-skinned oni doing some ritual to little Kanou, "he is doing a magical detection spell and is using Kanou-ojisama as a comparison."
"You are aware that she can be anywhere in the world or realms, right?"
"It is still worth a try to find out."
"Yoho! If you don't mind, I think I can give you a hand~"
Both Natives of Remnant drew their blades and pointed them to a cute blonde girl, sitting on a floating broom. She had a witch hat and strikingly blue eyes which is eerily so familiar.
"And why should we trust you?" Adam asked as the other three drew their blades and pointed at the witch too.
The witch had a coy smile and focused on Jaune, "To keep things simple, my leader does not want Cao Cao to complete his mission; saying that it will rob him of the chance to reach his goal."
Jaune continued to point his blade at the witch, "Goal? What goal?"
"Hehehehehe~ That is a secret~ But seriously, I can help you get into the Dimension Gap where the Hero Faction is currently; you will provide enough distraction before I can lure the big guns to stop this entire operation."
"How sure are you they are at the Dimensional Gap?"
"THEY ARE AT THE DIMENSIONAL GAP! HOW?!" The red oni suddenly screamed in shock and fear as he finished his ritual with Kanou.
Jaune eyes never left the witch's as said witch gave another coy smile…
"Can you take us there?" Jaune asked.
"My brother can…but before that." The witch lay her broom and has she intertwined her fingers under her chin, "do I look familiar."
Jaune had a moment of conflict, but those eyes although familiar, are not from Remnant.
"Extremely, but I know we don't know each other."
"We don't, not in a longshot, but Cao Cao often moaned about your heritage with the help of the Graal, however, we Pendragons also have our own devices to track down anyone with an ancestry of anyone from the Round Table of Camelot and let's say." The witch had an amused smile, "our elders went crazy when they found out you are working under the Vatican."
Jaune internally sighed at the weird obsess—
"But I, Morgan Ley Fay of all people should know that bloodlines are bs, that is by we left the Hero Faction. SO!" the now named Morgan got up! "As our extremely distant 'cousin' and to foil our old leaders plan, my brother and I are willing to give you a hitch."
At that moment, the literal fabric of space tore in golden light! The car vacuumed as physics was bent as a portal similar to Raven's opened.
"Storming with an army will be suicide; we can only trust you and your close allies to do the job." Morgan addressed Jaune, "Quality over Quantity."
"You actually think I can defeat the True Longinus?"
"Barely out of your 20s yet you are famed for your tactics and skills; your reputation proceeds you." Morgan then shrugged, "Besides, if that is not enough, let's see if your Jeanne d'Arc, Thor, Mulan, Achilles, and Knight of the Round Table bloodline do affect your chances."
Jaune looked at the witch with a dumbfounded look, then he looked at the portal sucking air and tearing reality.
With a quick look at his allies, he saw all of them with determination and nodded at him.
Taking a quick breath, he marched into the portal.

It felt like entering a black-and-white film, with everything being looking exactly like Kyoto, only with the filter of everything being black and white. A pulse, a very dangerous and powerful pulse was felt as magic spiked to a dangerous degree, dancing with the surface of Jaune's aura. Jaune and the rest ran to the location of that magic, afraid of what they will do with Yasaka.
They were led to a highway towards the direction of a famous Kyoto site, a castle if Jaune must guess, and when they were about to cross the bridge. A man blocked their way.
He wore the same Japanese uniform as the Hero Faction and wore shade.
"Halt!"
"Great, now we got Gandalf" Sieg commented.
"Move!" Adam burst forward with lightning! He blinked at the man blocking the path!
SLASH!
And hit nothing, as the man vanish with shadows as he reappeared behind Adam.
"I am the descendant of Cu'cul-"
THUNDER!
But before the 'hero' can introduce himself, Adam again dashed forward with lightning to strike his opponent! But he hits nothing as his blade bit the shadow and his enemy dodged with such shadow. Adam strikes again with flames, but he misses, and miss and miss!
"My Sacred Gear is Night Reflect! A powerful defensive tool!" the 'hero' announced with pride and reassurance as Adam continued to miss his mark, and Night Reflect summoned new shadow clones.
"Hahahahahaha! It is futile! YOUR BLADE CAN'T-"
"Jaune!" Adam called out as Jaune charged his blade with aura as it shone gold, and launched an arc of aura to samurai! Adam blocked the golden attack with his blade, before sheathing it and glowed red. Then he sliced the road ahead of him!
The ruble blew apart as the force launched them into the air! They peppered all of the clones with many phasing through, but one.
Thunder!
Adam dashed again to his target…
…and missed again.
However
BANG!
His shotgun-sheath didn't… as a shadow clone lay prone on the ground with blood pooling around him.
"H-how?"
"You are not the only one who uses shadows as a distraction." Adam coldly says as he brought his sword up, before stabbing the hero's head.
"A shotgun? In a sheath?!" Lint asked shocked as they continued to make their way to the castle.
"Remnant Technology, courtesy of Baraqiel," Adam answered as he sheathed this blade.
"You didn't have that during our last bout" Jaune commented as he looked at the sheath.
"Benefits when you snitch the Khaos Brigade to the Grigori."
"*Sigh*, again with Baraqiel." Jeanne sighed.
They arrive at the castle as they spotted three figures on the building. Cao Cao was one of them, and he turned and look at them just as they arrived.
"That gunshot was heard miles away, only a few who would dare our guns on this side of the world." Cao Cao said with the spear in his hand, "Speaking of guns, my congratulation on defeating Heracles; he is one who lived up to his name."
"Cao Cao! Where is Yasaka-sama!" Adam yelled as he stepped forward.
"Georg, begin the experiment!" Cao Cao said as Georg was found on the other side of the area. Soon, multiple magic circles were born by his command as the entire field was enriched with magic. And with a flick of a wrist, Yasaka appears, covered in dark veins.
"This is an experiment you see; with the yokai's power and the lay lines of Kyoto, we want to see if we can summon Great Red."
Jaune frowned in confusion; at this point, he completely gave up on understanding the motives of Cao Cao. Yeah sure, he has the True Longinus, but summoning Great Red? It is like thinking you can defeat the brother gods because you got maiden powers.
"This is a bad idea on many levels." Jaune signed, "Sieg! Twilight Slice!"
Then the hunter placed a hand on Sieg and powered his Aura Amp, as his golden aura traveled to his brother of this new world. Sieg, although does not have an aura, felt Aura Amp feed his lifeforce back to full. He took out Balmulg, as it glowed blue before Demonic Norse Energy shot out of the blade, illuminating the black and white area a tint of blue…
He put his blade into maximum! For the first time since the Real Siegfried, Balmulg's might shine as her wielder had no fear of losing his lifeforce, as his brother got his back!
HA!
Sieg slammed his sword down as the Norse energy crashed into the land; making solid ground waves and turning the mighty castle of Kyoto into ashes.
DONNN
"HAAA! Fuck! Your semblance is crazy bro!" Sieg panted as his body strained after his feat, "How the hell did you not win the Grimm War quicker with your semblance."
"Because we don't have swords like yours or the Excalibur Fragments."
Suddenly, Yasaka burst into golden power! As she transformed into a possessed giant nine-tailed fox!
"AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
"Looks like you five will be a hindrance to our experiment", from the ashes and rubble, Cao Cao, Thrud, and Leo stood up, "Thrud, Leo, take your pick for your opponent today. Make sure they don't disturb us."
Thrud stepped forward and had a complicated expression, "I want to fight Arc, but I ain't passing the chance to fight Siegfried, ESPECIALLY WHAT HE DID WITH BALMULG!"
Leo looks intently, before speaking. "I will fight my counterpart." He looks hard at Jaune even with his babyface, "I want to see if he can really be Strada's successor."
"Strada's successor? I don't know if that is a compliment or an insult." Jaune said, and he didn't especially consider Port's achievements and cringe moments; the Legendary Man is both famous and infamous.
"So, I will fight Adam? Very well." Cao Cao shrugged.
Jaune went closer to Adam and said, "Beware, he is even faster than you." Then he looked at the ladies of the group, "try to subdue Yasaka with your Sacred Gear, but don't kill her. Zwei, you are with me."
Sieg burst in a blink forward as his sword clashed against Asgardian steel! He locked blades with Thrud as she grinned with excitement!
"Where is the power you showed off? I want to see it!" Thrud yelled, but Sieg responded by turning the angle of his blade and thrusting at her while still locking it with Thrud's sword!
Thrud only had a moment to move her head, as cursed steel bit her cheek.
"My brother taught me the value of when to use skill and power." He stoic said as he continued to battle the Asgardian hero with only one sword.
[Balance Break! Dragon Stake Victim!]
Behind Jaune, power exploded as Jeanne activated her Balance Breaker and summoned a Dragon made out of holy swords! Lint for her part only summoned the Holy Cross with Purple Flames.
"Jeanne, try to wrestle Yasaka into submission, I will try to burn the magic surrounding her!" Lint said as she burst forward with jet fire to fly towards the giant fox. Mid-air she pulled out two pistols glowing purple and aimed at the dark veins around the fox.
Shoot shoot shoot!
Holy Fire bullets hit the veins on the yokai, as magic burst and exhaust into the air, and Yasaka howled in pain! Until a dragon made out of holy swords tackled her to the ground.
"See you Jaune," Adam said, as he burst into lightning to race to the waiting Cao Cao. He saw Cao Cao standing for one moment, then turned into a blur as a red ball started to unleash slices at incredible speed, and Cao Cao blocked it all.
Jaune then breathed in, before looking at his opponent; looking at a silent glare pointed at him.
Bark Bark!
Zwei warned him on time as Jaune and the corgi jumped away from a monstrous arm swapping at them! The arm was coming from a portal on the ground and said armed pulled out a monster out of the portal. Just as Jaune landed on the ground, multiple portals surrounded him as black monsters were summoned!
But just when they were about to stand up.
Bang Bang Bang Slash!
Jaune never gave them a chance as he shot them all with a pistol in one hand and slashed the nearest one with his silver blade. All dissipated to ash, but more monsters came out.
"Longinus vs the Soul." Leo suddenly spoke out, "Many of the church are fools to reject you, not seeing how valuable you are by looking at Strada as an example. But many still saw that potential in you."
Jaune fought his way through the monsters resembling Grimm with utmost efficiency. Hit joins and weak points with extreme brute force.
"I don't think this is because of jealousy, considering that we both were never treated right!" Jaune called out as continued to fight, he was getting progress in closing the gap between him and Leo, but the monsters just got more dangerous.
A monster suddenly got too close, and slammed its fist into Jaune, launching him into another monster as it bear-hugged him! Aura glowed gold as he was squeezed. He felt his ribs crack a bit with the force, but his aura healed it immediately.
"Jealousy? No." Leo shook his head, "Closer to curiosity; I always wonder what could have been if we met soon, considering your knack for forming close bonds with many."
The monster held Jaune tighter as his aura visibly fought back until Zwei jumped in and bit the back of the monster's neck! Fangs tore monstrous flesh, freeing Jaune from its grasp before he burst forward in gold to kill more monsters. "you were looking for company?"
"Definitely. But the irony now that we are enemies now," Leo raised his hand, "But I want to see, who is stronger… how my best can beat your best!"
Suddenly, a giant portal appeared…
DONNN
…as a giant hand came out, before pulling a huge, monstrous being to live! It looks like a towel twisted and frozen in time with multiple arms!
"MEET MY INCOMPLETE BALANCE BREAKER! CAO CAO GAVE ME THE TOOLS TO BE BETTER! BETTER THAN THE CHURCH CAN EVER HOPE!" sweat pooled around Leo's face as a black snake suddenly twirled around him, "I WANT TO SEE IF IT WAS NOT A MISTAKE TO LEAVE THE VATICAN! I WANT TO SEE THAT I TRULY BELONG TO THE HERO FACTION!"
For Jaune, it reminded him of the Grimm kaiju Salem summoned when she was pushed back at the corner, at the climax of the war, and the absolute pain it was to kill those.
Jaune summoned his spear, as he activated his semblance and fed it to Ascalon Spear. It glowed brightly as Jaune pour so much into the spear that he felt his aura drain; trying to push out the power of a Dragon King.
[Jaune Arc: 87%...86%...85%]
"LEO! WE DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS!" Jaune called out as he bathed in rusted glow.
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THEY DID TO ME? HOW THEY ROBBED MY CHILDHOOD FOR THE SAKE OF 'GOD'?!" Leo screamed tears leaking out of his eyes, "THE CHURCH HAS NO HOLD OF ME! I WILL BEAT THEIR MOST PROMISING YOUTH!" Leo cried as he began to shake, and his monster stood tall!
"Fine…" Jaune stomped the ground for a firm position, the ground cracked as he went for a javelin position.
[Jaune Arc: 74%...73%...72%]
Jaune's spear glowed so bright, that it looked like a Fallen's Light Spear, he took aim…
HA!
…and threw the spear!
The air clapped at the dragon spear crashed into the monster! The air rippled at Jaune's lance drill against the tough skin of the monster! The beast visibly struggled as it stood fast against the powerful weapon as destructive aura burn its flesh…but it wasn't enough. Even with its wielder's aura, it cannot bring out the Dragon King's true power, as the spear struggled to even pierce flesh.
With a heave, the monster swatted the weapon away as the spear flung behind it and crashed meters away from it.
Leo couldn't help but smile as he looked up to his monster and witness an extraordinary event! His Sacred Gear deflects a powerful spear.
Unfortunately, that was his only thought before he gasps for air…
…and everything went back.
Jaune held the child in a chock hold as he knocked out Leo. The monster now disappears as its master now unconscious.
"Power is one thing," Jaune set Leo down, "but thinking that this was an honorable dual is naïve of you… well, you are a kid, so…"
And considering the spectacle of the clash of Ascalon Spear and Annihilation Maker, it would make sense for a 14-year-old boy to be distracted and ignore the possibility of Jaune closing in while the weapons had a standoff.
Bark Bark!
Zwei came in running with Jaune's weapon in his mouth he fetched it as soon as it crashed. Picking up his spear, Jaune was suddenly reminded of Cao Cao and his fight with Adam. Jaune looked where he thinks they are.

The only thing Adam saw, was sparks and a blue light. And he focused on that blue light because if he misses it, it will stab his body.
He parried and parried each strike as his blade continued to create sparks as he was on the complete defensive!
"So this is Kyoto's best." Cao Cao remarked as he brought his spear in a wide sweep! Adam blocked it with two hands as he was pushed back. He sheathed his blade as his body glow before he unleashed an aura disc at Cao Cao!
But the 'hero' merely deflects it with his spear's shaft.
"That is quite impressive, if you are another person then you would have 72 cuts and 50 stabs" Cao Cao smirked, "your art in the Water Breath is outstanding, but honestly that is no surprise considering that you were Ophis most favored lieutenant, that and you are somehow related to Arc."
"I find that quite insulting" Adam quipped back, "don't assume how Arc and I are this powerful; you have no idea how we fought to reach this level."
"Oh… but I do understand," Cao Cao said in a lecturing tone, "I of all people should know; I fought by myself and taught myself everything for the entirety of my life! I fought tooth and nail for what I have! Unlike you and Arc who had powerful governments backing you up in your youths."
"Powerful governments? If you consider the White Fang and Beacon as such, know that both of us were vulnerable; we lost families and friends, our homes, and that we forged our paths in the wilderness with nothing but our soul, unlike you… who has the True Longinus, and the benefits of being a descendent of a Hero."
"White Fang? Beacon?" Cao Cao looked confused.
"Kid, I know this world is harsh… but this world had one thing Remnant lost, balance." Adam frowned, "Just go to any organization and I know they will accept you with open arms, Cao Cao… even know you are backed up by a Dragon God, but Jaune and I, we had to fight in a world full of strife and chaos to sur-"
Adam only had a moment to brace as Cao Cao suddenly launched a laser beam made out of pure holy light!
DONNNNNNN!
Adam blocked the light with his blade as he pushed his semblance to the limit, to absorb all of the power in the attack!
…but it was too much. As Adam was physically pushed back and he felt his blade beginning to crack.
"I got you!" Adam suddenly felt somebody catch him and stopped his momentum. Suddenly, he felt a warm glow travel to his body as gold aura mingled with his red one.
His semblance is amplified to a terrifying degree as it absorbs the strongest attack Adam ever face. The faunus then glowed red so bright at it illuminating the area as the Holy Attack was stored in his blade.
Then he shot it all back at Cao Cao!
The aura mixed with holy light expanded as it turned into a huge laser and caved into the ground! Cao Cao could only get out of the way as the attack craved behind him, before slamming into the end of the fake dimension.
Sieg with multiple wounds stumbled as his fight with Thrud halted as the ground shook! He turned and saw how a part of the dimension was destroyed.
He can only sigh, "That probably has to do with Jaune."
Author's notes!
The next chapter will be the climax and the last chapter of this arc! Yes, it is a short arc… but I felt this is the best way to have it since shit hits the fan quickly. Anyway, after this, we will have an interlude, and I might take a break.
