* This is my first time writing fanfiction, as I have attempted stories in the past; however, this is the first time I am writing with a story that has already established rather than creating one from scratch. I will always love you

Chapter 1

It was a cozy night

"Thank you. I really mean it. Thank you, Ryuuji." Taiga smiled as she removed the bear mask that he had been wearing.

"H-hey, don't take it off!" Yelled Ryuuji in embarrassment as he looked up at her with his face covered in sweat as he gently pushed Taiga back so he could sit up. "When i heard you left the party early, i got worried. dont worry me like that, " Ryuuji added as he took the bear gloves off and put his fingers through her hair while she sat on his lap.

"idiot" mumbled Taiga under her breath " i planned the whole night out so you can meet Minorin but you come here because of me, you dirty mutt" sighed taiga resting her head on his chest.

after a few minutes, she suddenly stood up in a panic. "You should go!" yelled Taiga flustered as he face turned a bright pink. "I-If you don't go, Minorin will think i lied to her." stuttered Taiga as she fixed her hair. "You're right. Goodnight Taiga." Said Ryuuji as he opened the door before suddenly turning around. "I won't wake you up as early as i usually do tomorrow. ill probably be exhausted, " admitted Ryuujj with a smile before walking out and closing the door behind him.

As Taiga sat against the door she noticed the red scarf on the floor. As she crawled towards it and reached down to pick it up, she felt surprised by the tears dripping onto it. "W-What? Am i-" Before she could finish her sentence she held the scarf tightly as she laid down crying on the scarf.

As Ryuuji walked down the hallway of the apartment building, he started to think about what had happened. 'She was pretty adorable laying on me. What am I thinking? I like Minorin, not Taiga.' As he walked down, he suddenly stopped and turned towards her door. 'Now that I think about it. I like Minorin. I don't love her.' Suddenly he started to think about Taiga and all the things they had done together since they met but before he could react he ran towards her door impulsively. As Taiga lay on the floor crying, she started to yell. "Ryuuji! Ryuuji! Please come back!" Cried before slowly standing up and running towards the door and running outside. However, as she ran through her doorway, she suddenly felt something wrap around her, something that made her feel safe.

"It's alright, Taiga. I'm here." Said Ryuuji as he held her in his arms. "B-But why? I thought you left for Minorin?" Asked Taiga in confusion as she rested her face on his chest, still crying. "Well, that was the plan, but..." Ryuuji said as he slowly kneeled down to look into her eyes directly. "I realised something. I like Minorin, but I don't love her. and once I realised that I started to remember all the times you've helped me and the time we've spent together and-" Ryuuji suddenly stopped as his face turned red "I think I love you Taiga!" Exclaimed Ryuuji as he wiped the tears from Taiga's face before suddenly being tackled by her hug. "What do you mean you think? you better love me!" yelled Taiga with a smile as she laid ontop of him looking into his eyes.

Ryuuji smiled as he slowly picked up Taiga in a bridal carry. "Is it alright if I take you to my house so I can get out of this costume? then we can explain why I didn't show up. I know! we can say you got injured and asked me to come and help. How does that sound? we dont have to tell anyone about us... you know. loving eachother." Said Ryuuji as he looked down at her resting her face on his arm. "Y-Yeah. that's fine. Just promise you won't leave me again." Begged Taiga as she sniffled

A few hours later Ryuuji has changed into pyjamas along with Taiga by using some she left in the past. "im back." Whispered Ryuuji looking down at Taiga in his futon as he slowly laid down next to her as she laid her head on his chest. "Ryuuji. can you stroke my head again?" Asked Taiga still sniffling. "Ofcourse I will. did you tell Minorin our excuse?" Asked Ryuuji as he rested his hand on her head and slowly stroked her long hair. Taiga nodded her head letting out a quiet "Yeah." but before she could keep going she froze when she felt Ryuuji's lips on her forehead. "Sorry. You looked like an adorable doll." Admitted Ryuuji as he blushed along with Taiga. A few minutes later Ryujji stop stroking her head and looked at the ceiling. "I know I've helped you alot and you may feel like a burden and that you may need to repay me but you don't. I owe you so much. you saved my life... but that's a story for another time" Whispered Ryuuji with a slight tone of pain in his voice thinking that Taiga was asleep. "goodnight Taiga. I love you" Said Ryuuji before falling asleep. Once Taiga heard him fall asleep and felt his breathing slow down she slowly sat up. 'what do you mean? how did I save your life? I hope you tell me soon' Thought Taiga as she slowly stroked his cheek with her hand before laying back on his chest. "I love you too." Whispered Taiga before falling asleep
