Hello again. It has been a while but i'm still stuck in Langson-land. Someone wrote on 'After the gala' from the In-betweens story that they would like to know more of the backstory for that pairing and it stuck with me so here is at least some of the backstory to the canon Langson-date in Video killed the radiostar (23x14). So for your reading pleasure here is Before the gala. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Also I have decided to separate 'After the gala' from the In-betweens and fold it into this one so that will be featured as chapters two w small adjustments. So if you already read that story read it again here and so you are ready to follow along on this Langson journey.

Characters are owned by wolf ent., mistakes are mine. Enjoy the ride.

"We are in my office" ….

"I know" he whispered in her ear.

She had to swallow hard as her mouth turned surprisingly dry from the deep rumbling of his voice and his warm breath puffing on her throat. She felt his hand sliding over the tight top she was wearing under her jacket. Moving a bit more towards her center, teasing her and all she wanted was for him to slide his hand between her legs and relieve the pressure that was building rapidly. She groaned quietly. Her head bowed forwards, hair falling in front of her face. She could feel his arms enveloping her from behind and his arousal pressing into her back. And suddenly desire and lust rushed through her veins. She inhaled through her nose and exhaled his name "Trevor". She didn't know if it was a warning or a plea. "Do you want something darling? You sound like you want something"

"I want you to stop messing around and fucking touch me" she hissed through closed teeth. He chuckled. He was enjoying this and a little more than she liked. She decided to do a little teasing on her own. She stood up straight against him leading his hand to her crotch while pushing her ass back against him.

He spun her around in a flash and backed her up against the wall. Olivia smiled, enjoying him taking control spurred on by her playfulness. His hand found its way under her shin-long, loose-fitted skirt, grabbed her thigh, and hiked up her leg. Olivia wrapped her leg around him and moaned loudly. Trevor's lips connected with her neck kissing, finding their way to her ear. His teeth scraped against her earlobe, biting down ever so slightly and groaning in her ear. "Shit you are so fucking sexy" Olivia had both hands around his neck. Her fingers searching for purpose in his hair. She felt his every obvious arousal against her and it made her sigh with pleasure. He wanted her right now. He needed her and it turned her on even more. His tongue had found the spot behind her ear that drove her crazy. She all but willed him to just move this along. Pop the button off his pants and yank down her panties. So she could feel the warmth of his hands on her backside and he could release this tension that was building in her. His lips found her mouth and he kissed her passionately and a little rough leaving a sting of pain on her lip from his bite. He had one hand on her ass now and she could feel his hips colliding with hers. He felt big and hard against her. He grinded against her, as he released her mouth and she all but screamed out when his hand found its way into her panties and in contact with her wet folds.

Olivia sat up in her bed in a flash. Eyes wide open. What the fuck? What was that? What was happening? She looked around her bedroom in the early morning lights. Her sheets felt cold against her heated skin and her heart was racing. Did she just have a rather explicit and very pleasant sex dream about Trevor Langan? Her body was throbbing. Screaming for release and thoughts of Trevor kept invading her mind. She fell back into her pillows with a sigh. But she couldn't help smiling at herself and her subconscious desires. Trevor was a very nice guy and very very sexy. There really was no denying that. He looked so good in a suit… and out of it and that hair and those eyes and the way his mouth moved over hers and his hands on her exploring her and his tongue in places on her, in her. And wow Olivia shook her head. She needed to calm down. What the fuck was going on? Why was her brain doing this? Sure the night she shared with Trevor a little over a week ago was very very pleasurable and he did make her body sing. But honestly, she couldn't remember the last time her mind went into overdrive like this over a man.

She looked over at her watch on the nightstand. The red numbers stood clear in the dim light, 05:07. No way she was going back to sleep now and then getting back up at 06:00 to get ready. It was still a little early for her to get out of bed so she picked up her phone and looked over the news. The news wasn't that interesting so after a few minutes, her thoughts returned to the man who had made her night terrors be replaced by sex dreams. He was probably still sleeping in that huge bed of his. Her mind was invaded by images of him laying naked from the waist up sleeping on white fresh crispy sheets with his hair messed up from sleep. She sighed at the thought. She figured it would be okay to send a quick text confirming their plans to attend the New York adoption league gala that night.

[Hi you. Just texting to let you know I'm looking forward to tonight. It's a good course and it's close to my heart as you probably already know. Are you nervous about your speech? Hope you have a nice day and I'll see you tonight.]

Olivia put her phone down again and closed her eyes going over her work itinerary in her head. She was surprised to hear her phone buzz two minutes later. Trevor's name on the screen made her smile.

[Good morning you. You are up early …or are you up late? Nevermind. It's nice to hear from you. I think I have my speech ready for tonight, but I am looking forward to you being in the audience for me to focus on if I get nervous *winky smiley emoji* Can I pick you up at your place around seven, or do you come straight from work? ]

While Olivia was reading another text came in.

[For the record I would be happy to pick you up from work as well but I'm not sure how you feel about that or how much you want to explain to your squad *Smiley red-cheeked emoji*]

Olivia smirked. She hadn't exactly told the squad that she had been seeing somebody in a dating-ish capacity or that she and Trevor were possibly becoming more work acquaintances. She wasn't accustomed to sharing dating status or personal relationships with her squad. Not that there was that much to share as such. She hadn't really had a longer relationship with anybody since Tucker. The few dates she had been on in the past 5 years were something she had kept pretty quiet. She pretty much shot down dating after she and Tucker broke up. Something about it just seemed very exhausting for a long time. And for a while, she was thinking that at some point she and Ed might give it another go.

It turned out Ed wasn't really ready to wait or fight for them and when he came back into her life however brief it was with a wife and two stepsons. She remembered that rainy night of his retirement party. Turning up at the bar and seeing him with his wife was a little like being punched in the gut. Flashes of a life she could have had, played like a film most of the night and that was one of those times she was extremely thankful for the support of her squad. In the end, that kind of shock therapy probably was what she needed to jolt her out of the dormant state she was in dating-wise. And as it turned out Ed didn't invite her to torment her with his newfound happiness. He more likely wanted to say goodbye. And they did have their goodbye even if she didn't know it was final at the time. Somehow the whole experience did push her forward and back into thinking that dating might not be the worst thing in the world.

Olivia picked up her phone and texted Trevor back

[I work with detectives. They are good at snooping. I prefer not to give them anything to snoop in just yet *smiley emoji* Just pick me up from home. Lucy is here with Noah]

Olivia got up and went to get Noah out of bed as well and ready for their day. After she dropped Noah off at school she walked the rest of the way. It was a nice sunny day but a little cold. She was happy that she was wearing a coat. She was hoping that today wouldn't be overly stressful at work. She wanted to get out of there at a decent hour so she could go home and spend some time with Noah before going to the gala. She was looking forward to the gala. It would be nice to dress up and go out with a handsome man that she liked and judging by her dream this morning her subconscious was screaming at her too to go out on a date and enjoy it.

Olivia stepped off the elevator and rounded the corner to the squad room to find her team and ADA Carisi standing around the coffee maker. She smiled for a second and wondered if Carisi remembered where his office was because since he and Amanda disclosed their involvement he had made a habit of dropping by almost every day. And honestly, they didn't have that much development in their cases.

"Good morning team and counsellor Carisi. Good to see you again. You know we will still take you back if you change your mind about this whole Ada-thing" She smiled at Carisi and padded his upper arm. "Or do you come here for other reasons?" Carisi laughed a little. "I'm sorry Captain. I got caught up in a discussion about which restaurants are good right now. I want to take Amanda to a new restaurant in the West Village that I read about. But somebody thinks that's too fancy" Olivia couldn't help smiling at her former detective and his predicament trying to navigate his relationship. She figured she would help him out a bit. "Is it that new Mexican-Korean fusion restaurant in The West Village that was in the Times? I went there last week. The food was really good." Amanda looked at her questioning and almost in shock. "You went to a Korean-Mexican fusion restaurant?... with who? …Noah?"

Olivia scuffed. "Noah likes burgers and fries and sometimes spaghetti. I'm not about to take him to a 150 dollars per serving-restaurant"

"So who did you go with?" Amanda pressed on. Olivia realized she might have gotten herself into a discussion with questions she didn't really want to answer at this point. Olivia sipped her coffee and bought herself a little time hoping that Fin would come to her rescue, but he didn't. There was no way around giving some kind of answer. "Just a friend," Olivia said as she gathered her things to get to her office. But Amanda wasn't done. "Does your friend have a name?" Olivia was walking in the direction of her office. "He does, but I'm not sharing that information detective" Olivia gave her detective a closed-mouth smile and walked into her office.

She knew Amanda had seen through her pathetic attempt to cover her tracks and under no circumstances was she gonna let this go and she was probably going to have to throw her something. Amanda had a strange ability to see through most of Olivia's cover-ups and put her finger on exposed nerves. It sometimes led to collisions and Olivia knew it. She had worked hard to overcome her bias against detective Rollins and over the years they had become rather close. She knew Rollins had her back if needed and fundamentally wouldn't betray her trust. But she did have a knack for pushing Olivia to own up to her feelings. And sometimes that could be hard for Olivia. On the other hand, Rollins possessed unwavering loyalty and someone once pointed out to Olivia that her detective had a little hero crush on her boss. Olivia had realized that that was probably true and she did appreciate having another woman around who faced some of the same life challenges she did working in the field they worked in.

Back in the squad room Rollins turned and looked at Fin and Carisi. "Who is she dating and going to restaurants with?…is it Stabler?" Fin shook his head. "It can't be. Stabler wouldn't be caught dead in a Mexican-Korean fusion restaurant. He is candlelights in Italian restaurants and dive bars with cheap liquor. I also think he is back undercover so…" He lifted his hand in a 'beats me'-gesture and Carisi looked questioningly at his girlfriend. "Are you sure she is dating? It could just be dinner with a friend" Both Fin and Rollins looked at him like they were trying to figure out if he just fell off the moon and landed here. "Seriously Sonny. She is bringing coffee in the morning. Last week she brought bagels for everybody. When did she ever do that before? The dresses she has started to wear to work and now she is going to fancy restaurants!" Carisi looked like he suddenly connected the dots. "Okay yeah she is definitely dating"

The day continued rather uneventfully and at around 2 pm Olivia gathered her things and went into the squad room. "I'm leaving now, guys. I have a meeting at 1PP and then I'm going home to see Noah. I have to go to a gala-thing tonight" Valasco looked up from his computer. "A gala? That sounds nice. What gala?" Olivia smiled tightly. "It's a gala event for the New York adoption league. My son is adopted so my adoption lawyer invited me to come." Amanda looked up from the file she was reading. "Your adoption lawyer as in Trevor Langan?" Olivia nodded. "Trevor Langan invited you to a gala?" Olivia nodded again wondering if Rollins was going where she thought she might be going. "Yes, he is the keynote speaker. I think he helped put the event together." Olivia was looking directly at her detective now. Rollins only smiled the knowing smile. "Interesting. Have fun at the gala!" she said and returned her attention to the file on her desk.

The meeting at 1PP was boring beyond words and dragged out. When she was finally able to get out of there she ran into Sergeant Bell and Elliott in the lobby. They both looked a little rattled and Elliott approached her. She chose not to engage further and simply nodded to both of them. She really didn't have the energy or desire to deal with any more of Elliot's BS and his constant need for dragging her into whatever situation he was in.

She wondered something if he really just was an ass and had been that all along or if it was him trying in some fucked up backward way to recreate the closeness they have had when they were both detectives. Elliot caught up with her. 'Hey Liv, I hoped to see you here. I wanted to call but... Well, Bell and I are trying to get a continuance on the undercover but the powers to be are making it difficult. You must have friends here. I thought maybe you could call and figure out what's the hold-up?' Olivia took a deep breath. Was he fucking kidding? Was he actually asking her to interfere on his behalf?

"Elliot it's not really SVU's case. It's yours and I don't know how or who I would even ask and I'm actually on my way out and…" He cut her off 'oh come on Liv you must have lots of pull here and you know how they are and what they like and you know how they get with me. Could you just help me out here? I'm asking nicely' Olivia felt the annoyance crawl up her spine. She couldn't believe what she was actually hearing. Who had he been talking to and how dare he insinuate that somehow she had more friends than others at 1PP? 'No Elliot you are not! You are using our shared history to make me feel obligated to help you. And at the same time, you are insinuating I got promoted because I have friends here and I know what they like"

She made air quotations around his statements as she felt her cheeks head up with frustration and anger. "I got promoted because I'm good at my job. I was always good at my job. You know that. You know that. As for having friends here…I just don't act like a fucking spoiled child every time I talk to people here. I don't wanna interfere on your behalf because it's your case. It doesn't have anything to do with svu and the only reason you are asking is that you think I can do something for you. But I can't and I won't. And now I'm leaving because I have a date and I don't want to be late!''

She turned on her heels and walked out of the building before Elliot could react. She felt good. It felt good to shoot Elliot down and letting him know that her life wasn't centered around him and she certainly wasn't going to be doing his bidding at 1PP. It did hurt her that he somehow believed she had friends or got special treatment from 1PP. She had been fighting assumptions like that ever since she dated Tucker. Maybe Elliot wasn't any better than those openly misogynistic street cops and brute sargents who blatantly stated that she must have slept her way to her job. Even though it wasn't true. She knew that. Her team knew that. The people at 1PP knew that and yet the assumption still existed. She had just hoped her former partner knew it too.

Olivia walked down the street trying to put what just happened at 1PP out of her head. She wanted to return her attention and anticipation back on her date with Trevor later. The thought of Trevor made her smile. She liked him. She liked the way she felt around him. There was no anxiety there. Just butterflies and giddiness and the thought of what this could be. He made her smile and laugh and she felt an intimate trust building between them. She picked up her photo from her bag and texted him just because she missed that feeling.

[ Hi just texting to let you know that I'm leaving work now so I'm definitely yours for the gala tonight. I left Fin in charge and have instructed him not to call unless something is on fire *winky smiley emoji*]

She pressed send before she could start doubting herself and analyzing whether or not it was the right tone in the message or if she should send it or not. Before long her phone buzzed again.

[You have no idea how happy that makes me Olivia Benson! I have had my fingers crossed all day that you wouldn't get some horrible case that would keep you at work mostly for selfish reasons. I would like you for myself tonight. And like I said I need you to focus on during my speech]

Olivia smiled as she read his message. There was definitely a flirty undertone to it and she liked that. She almost wanted to text him back something like "I want to be yours tonight" or something to that effect. But that would basically be to offer him sex in advance and she didn't want to completely lose her dignity in case he wanted to keep it more friendly than romantic and sexy so she let the thought stay in her head for now. From Trevors's last text she did get the feeling that he was pretty much on the same page as her and that he most certainly liked her.

As she walked down the street an idea formed in Olivia's head. She wanted to do something special for her and possibly for Trevor as well. She wanted to be pretty all the way through for him and for herself. So she walked into a high-end lingerie boutique. She was thinking of something classic black with a bit of understated sexiness to it, which would be something she would be comfortable in and that Trevor would appreciate too. Olivia looked around and identified some black lacy bras in the back of the shop. She wasn't entirely comfortable with the situation considering she mostly owned t-shirt bras from online shops and a couple of sets of really nice lingerie she bought in Paris before things spiralled out of control and she still believed in her and Ed's relationship.

Olivia liked nice underwear but since nobody really had been looking at it for a couple of years she also valued comfort. And t-shirt bras were just more comfortable on the job. She looked at the more colorful bras in the shop as she approached the back at the end of the shop. Some of them looked really nice and also sexy in her opinion and she imagined a world where someone aka Trevor would actually care if she wore green lace or pink mesh. Did he even like lingerie? Most men did, right? She decided to keep it safe and classic like she first thought and walked towards the back end of the boutique.

As she was looking the younger sales assistant approached her. "Are you looking for something specific?" she asked Olivia with a smile. Olivia felt a little out of place as she tried to answer the question. "Mmm, I'm not sure. I'm looking for a new lace bra and panty set and I'm thinking black" The sales assistant smiled at her. "The ones you are holding are nice and low-key sexy. I think he is gonna like either one" Olivia gave a little chuckle. "Am I that transparent?" Olivia asked a little self-consciously. The sales assistant smiled. "You just have that look. It's a good look"

Olivia walked to the dressing room and tried on the different bras. She looked at herself in the mirror. Her breast filled out the cups of the bra pretty nicely and her olive skin tone contrasted the black lace covering a little more than half the globes. The sales assistant was right. It was a good look. Her eyes drifted to the fainted scars on her abdomen. She knew those scars better than anything. She had studied them intently in the bathroom mirror alone when Brian had fallen asleep. When she and Brian moved into the apartment there was a full-length mirror on the bathroom door. She would stand there in front of it in the middle of the night when she couldn't sleep and force herself to undress and see the scars. Studying them and becoming familiar with them. Accepting them as part of her. Brian preferred not to see them or at least that was what she thought at the time. He kept the light off when they had sex after her kidnapping and he never touched the scars unless accidentally. At the time she couldn't help thinking that he thought she was somehow ruined or damaged. She hated that feeling and what it did to her. She withdrew and closed herself off. No wonder Brian at times must have felt like she resented him.

Olivia shook her head as she stood in the dressing room trying to shake off the thoughts of the past. She took a deep breath. Today she didn't want that. She didn't want the darkness of things past to take over. She took a deep breath, wiggled her toes the best she could, and found the mints in her bag that she always carried. The strong dominant tasté of mint distracted her mind when she cracked two tablets between her teeth. And most of the time that was enough to stop her mind from sliding back into the past. She took another deep breath and thought of the evening to come and of Trevor. As the darker thoughts subsided Olivia couldn't help chuckling a little at herself as she stood there. She was actually buying underwear because she wanted a man to look at it. She wanted to see the expression on his face when he looked at her like that. She wanted his eyes drinking her in and desiring her. And that man really could look at her so she almost turned into a puddle on the floor. But she didn't mind. Maybe it was exactly what she needed. She changed back into her own clothes and went to pay for her new underwear.

Olivia returned home and spent some time with Noah before Lucy arrived as they finished dinner. Olivia really hadn't eaten that much. She felt excited and a little nervous and somehow that turned into a loss of appetite. and excused herself to Lucy and Noah pretty fast so she could get ready.

By the time 7 o'clock rolled around Olivia was showered, shaved, plucked, and moisturized to a T. Her hair was done in loose curls separated down the middle and floating around her face which gave her a soft almost angelic look. She wore a purple and black dress with gold stitching that nicely showed off her curves without even a bit of vulgarity paired with a little more evening-toned makeup and she was pretty satisfied with the way her look had turned out. Soft, sophisticated, and low-key seductive.

Even Noah seemed to appreciate it. "WOW Mommy you look pretty. Are you not going to work?" Olivia smiled at her son and was once again reminded that he in fact wasn't a young school child but closer to a teenager. "No honey, I'm actually going on a date" Noah gave her the brightest smile. "I think he is very lucky to get to date you mommy" Olivia's heart melted and motherly pride filled her. "Thank you sweetheart but I think I'm the lucky one. I have you at home giving me pep talks" She ruffled his hair and drew him for a hug and kissed his curls. "Mom stop, I'm not a baby!" Olivia chuckled. "Of course, you are not and you are right. He IS pretty lucky!" and they all laughed. And with that, there was a knock at the door.

Olivia made a face and walked to the door. She looked through the peephole quickly to make sure it was Trevor on the other side. She didn't entirely trust the doormen at the building after Elliot talked his way past them high as a kite. She smiled when she saw the tall handsome man with graying short hair standing outside and she opened the door quickly. Her closed-mouth smile turned into a full grin as he appeared before her looking like a cross between Clark Kent and a GQ model in an ad for expensive coffee. Clean shaved and with that perfect jawline of his that her fingers itched to run along. "Hi" she spoke a little more husky than she intended.

He looked so dashingly elegant standing there in the low white light of her hallway that her brain had a hard time remembering what was supposed to happen or how she was supposed to act. For a few seconds she was just staring at him and he seemed to be in the same state of momentary brain shutdown before he somehow managed to return her greeting with a simple 'Hi' as well. Trevor gave her one of those megawatt smiles that made her a little breathless. "You look lovely Olivia," Trevor said. The sound of his deep velvety voice washed over her and gave her a calming feeling. She couldn't help giving her the brightest smile. "Would you mind coming in for a second? I just have to get my coat." She moved to the side so he could step into the hallway. Trevor took a few steps into her home. When he was close enough he grabbed both her hands and leaned in and gave her a kiss on the cheek. She felt his thumb caress the backside of her hand. The smell of his subtle cologne overpowered her sense and she felt momentarily dizzy.

Trevor's kiss lingered a little longer than what would normally be appropriate in this situation but for some reason, he didn't care and she didn't seem to either. She smelled clean and fresh with a hint of something warm and exotic that made him yearn for more. The thought of having his nose buried in her wavy hair and his hands caressing her smooth skin made it hard for him to step away and if it hadn't been for Noah lurking around in the living room behind her eyeing his mom's date, he might have grabbed her face and kissed her properly with all the passion, need and desire that he felt in that moment. But he settled for enjoying the faint scent of her conditioner and the softness of her cheek.

Despite his every instinct, he let go of her. Olivia turned around and stepped toward the back of the apartment. "My coat is in the other room. I'll be right back" and she left him in the living room with Noah and Lucy. Trevor who was brought up with good manners introduced himself to Lucy and then smiled at the 10-year-old boy. 'Hi, Noah. How are you? I'm not sure you remember me. I'm Trevor' Trevor wasn't entirely sure how much Noah was aware of his first year of life. He knew that Noah knew he was adopted from when his maternal grandmother showed up in his and Olivia's life and Trevor had to tell Olivia that she had filed papers to vacate the adoption. He thought back on that day with horror. The look on Olivia's face haunted him. He had never seen that primal fear in her eyes before. Not even back when she was faced with murder charges and life in prison.

Noah reluctantly shook Trevor's hand like he had been taught by his mom to do when saying hello. He had no recollection of the tall man standing in front of him despite the man being somehow familiar to him and the man seemed to know him. Noah wasn't used to seeing his mother's dates. As far as Noah was concerned his mom never actually dated anybody besides Ed who brought him his favorite stuffed animal when he was younger. Noah named the elephant Eddy and when Ed stopped coming around Noah still had Eddy the elephant to keep him company. His mom had tried to put it in a box at some point and Noah remembered he cried and cried until his mom had found the box again and pulled Eddy out. After that, she didn't make a fuss about Eddy anymore and now the elephant was sitting on a shelf in his room. Noah appraised the tall man in front of him. His smile was nice and warm but he did seem a little nervous or uneasy. "I don't know you but do you work with my mom? Is that how you know her?" Noah enquired. "I used to work with your mom back when she got you actually. I think I babysat you a couple of times back then. You were a cute baby. Trevor clarified. Noah smiled. "Mom thinks I'm still cute!" Noah sassed. "And I think she might think you are cute too"

"Noah!" Olivia stepped into the living area right as Noah gave up her secret. She looked at Trevor. "I…I'm sorry'. Trevor just grinned at her. He couldn't help himself. Something in him took flight at Noah's admission on her behalf. "I'm not" Olivia looked at him and felt a little weakness in her knees set in at his admission but managed to not let it show that much. She flipped her hair out of the collar of her coat and Trevor almost had a slow-motion minute like in the movies when she did so. Her wary brown hair sprayed around her head and bounced in a way that made his lower stomach tense up ever so slightly with a feeling he knew all too well. She pulled her coat tighter to button it and he couldn't help noticing the ample curves of her body beneath the layers of clothes.

"Okay, shall we?" Olivia's voice pulled Trevor from his thoughts. "Yes let go" Olivia turned to Noah "Okay be good for Lucy and lights out at nine okay? No gaming all night. I have my phone with me so call if there is anything" She caressed the boy's cheek and ruffled his curls as she smiled adoringly at him. "Yes mommy I know the rules. Lucy gets my phone at 8 and texts you that she has it. Have fun on your date!" Trevor couldn't help noticing the look that was exchanged between Olivia and her son and he wondered what it meant. Before they walked out the door he said directed at both Lucy and Noah "don't worry I'll bring her home safe and sound" which felt silly when he said it considering it was her 10-year-old son and his nanny he was talking to but I didn't know what else to say.

The door closed behind them and Olivia turned towards him "Are you sure about that? About bringing me home again I mean?" Trevor was a little confused and looked at her questioning. Then he saw the cheeky smile form on her face and realized what she perhaps was saying. With that realization, boldness came over him and he found her hand as they walked towards the elevator. "I think it's my lucky day with Noah giving your secrets cos I think you are cute too" He dared to look at her as they were waiting for the elevator and smiled sheepishly at her. Olivia returned the smile. "Mmm there you have it. Lucky us" As silence fell between them her own words rang in her head. 'Lucky us' Was there an "us"? He didn't seem to mind that description and it felt good and natural to use it. Were they becoming an "us"? She felt him squeeze her hand as if he knew she was about to go into a head spin and it stopped it. Olivia's heart was suddenly overflown with affection for the man beside her.

It was like he knew her and could read her emotions and knew how to put her at ease. She let go of his hand and stepped in front of him in the tiny elevator space. She put both her hands on his broad chest. "I'm so glad you asked me to go to this. I'm so happy to spend time with you"

She stood to her toes and leaned and pressed her lips to his. Tentative at first but as she felt his arm around her waist she got a little more confident and her kiss a little more moist. No tongue. Just a short series of lingering moist lip kisses with a promise of more to come. She made a small humming sound as he pulled her even closer to him right before the elevator landed and the spell was broken. She ended the kiss and refound his hand as his arm slipped from her waist.

As the elevator door opened Trevor spoke. "Me too. We are a good team. I want to be on your team" Olivia felt her throat thicken with his words and she had to clear her voice quickly. She believed him. It felt nothing like an act or insincere. And she realized that she wanted him on her team and she wanted to be on his.
