Introduction

I began writing this particular fanfic in February 2023 and, as of this moment, it is still a work in progress, currently at around 80,000 words. Hence, I do not have an estimate when it will be completed. At the moment, I am trying to publish new chapters on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule. However, real life commitments may, at some point, prevent me from adhering to said schedule. Should that happen, I will publish an appropriate note either at the end of the latest chapter, or as a separate part that I will later delete.

As a side-note, English is not my native language, so, as meticulous as I try to be, there are bound to be mistakes. I will do my best to correct them as soon as I spot them. I am not a professional writer, but I tried to do my best, and I sincerely hope that you enjoy reading this pet project of mine as much as I enjoyed writing it! Every person that decides to spend their time reading it does me a great honour and I will be very grateful to each and every one of you for it.

Why Even?

First of all, because it is even more fun than I anticipated. It stems from love and appreciation for the Yakuza / Like a Dragon universe and its characters, Majima in particular. I wanted to explore a "what if" scenario in which our Mad Dog can somehow finally find happiness (?) in love. With the amount of time unaccounted for in the series, it provided me with considerable leeway, with some parts proving more challenging to piece together than others in a way that makes sense, but it has been a challenge I was willing to face. (I know I am probably way too serious about this, but when I do something, I want to do it right or at least as best as I can!)

Is This Smut?

As great the temptation was, I have decided to keep this fanfic in the lime territory for now. However, as I am still in the process of writing, this may change, though I would not expect it to become a fully-fledged lemon by any means. Overt sexual content was never the reason for the creation of this story; I want to keep it wholesome, but it is, after all, a romance story, so some things are unavoidable. What it does and will continue to contain, however, is mature language and themes, just not outright graphic descriptions of sexual acts.
