D3: The Mighty Ducks Re-Imagined

Synopsis: After the rest of the team mutinies one too many time now, Charlie goes to drastic measures. And till an unexpected decision to meet their new coach changes things for them. As they recall the last of the peewee Ducks now, as before school starts, the team spends all summer bonding to their new coach. As the truth comes out and with it, this changes things for him forever with a meeting.
Between him and the man that becomes his future coach, as the season changes, and as they become the champions they are meant to be….
Warnings: This is going to be a re-imagining of D3: the Mighty Ducks as Charlie meets Orion when they're 10 after the success of their first season right now. As Orion teaches them things meant to prepare for their first season under him then. As they prepare for what their future brings now, and as Charlie learns the truth. And this soon, that Orion is his real father and he has a life outside of the team.
This is also going to leave out the tv show, so an alternate reality story. But the other clip to this is going to show a few situations of Orion's coming into the picture, just before Charlie chose him as their back up coach.

Chapter Prologue: New Training, Adopted Family And The Rescue
Team Truths And Bonds- Pre Hockey Season 1992-1993:
After winning the season for the Ducks, and their new Coach had left for the Minors, the team tried to get used to their new popularity. "Guys what now, we won a single season but the Coach left, so now what?" Connie Monroe asked and Peter Marks smiled. "We go back to how it was?" he suggested and Charlie Conway smacked him across the head. "Oh what, more sick practical jokes, more being out there, in the eyes of our parents doing god knows what now, forget it."
"No, Adam, you think you think you could convince your brother to talk to his Coach?" he asked and Adam Banks nodded, smiling. "Gladly, Coach, based on what Jared told me, is a pro hockey player, and his team leaves after this coming season ends. So yeah, I can try, but the Varsity Hawks have until 1994, before they make Varsity." he said and he nodded smiling. "Hey Adam my Coach is here to see you and Charlie!" they heard get shouted up from the stairs then.
And they quickly left his bedroom and headed for the stairs. "Hey Coach, I'm Adam Banks, this is Charlie Conway, Jesse Hall, Les' Averman and Connie Monroe." he said and Coach Ted Orion smiled and nodded. "Nice to meet you guys, boys, baby, or should I say, good to see you again, god you guys have grown, you look like your parents, you four." he said and that did it as Charlie stepped forward then. "We know you?" he asked and he nodded smiling gently to him.
"Last time you and Lester saw me, was 2 months ago, the purse, son, before you heard a fast whistle blow after Larson and McGill jumped you." he said and the duo nodded. "The red SUV, that was you?" Charlie said, coming down and he nodded. "Yeah it was me, and I heard the entire exchange, but these guys lied to you, he never meant you at all. But meant the Hawks, aside from Scott and Jared, both age groups." he said and Peter went white at that in fear.
"Then tell us the reason?" Connie asked and he crossed his arms. "You tell them?" he asked and the Banks's nodded. "Yeah we told them everything, and Charlie jumped to the opportunity immediately as did the 10." Adam said and he nodded. "Run the number Jared, how much does it cost for that experimental therapy." he said and he nodded. "The cost is $144,000." he said and he nodded. "How much is a first year tuition, exactly?" he asked him gently and he froze.
"That's $6,750." he said and he nodded. "Times 24." he said and Connie sat down. "That's $18,000 more then the cost of this experimental treatment?" Jesse snapped in fury and he nodded sternly. "So there it is, instead of skimming that $81,000 off, they can save up for 4 years, they withhold it, yeah you cold blooded jerks are losers alright. You don't deserve to live right now, okay, want to go it like this, we do fundraisers every year." Charlie said with a growl.
"As for adding Adam to the team, it's because Fulton's position is enforcer, son, he has to protect your sisters, Adam helps you with the shooting." he said and they turned to look at Peter and he went ghostly pale at that revelation then. "Would you say siding with the Coach is okay right now, directly after he told us, I considered what you as our parents would say?" he asked and he nodded. "Siding with your parent, teacher or coach is fine." he said and the trio smiled.
"Gwen said that Kathy said there was a riot, maybe you can tell me why, son, because if that's an insult, if you're mine. Then heads are going to roll here right now for that, if he called your mother, my first wife, what I think." he said and they went white at that. "Yeah he insulted mom's honor, but the Coach and mom just started seeing each other here. And they implied I got captaincy, because she seduced him, quid pro quo in the you know sense here now."
"And seeing red I nearly slammed him into the wall, dad, if you're really my father." he said and Jared looked at them in disgusted shock. "You realize if you repeat that exchange at the academy, it's laps for one month, detention for 5!" he said and they went white as a ghost in fear. "I know, Jare' insult my family, not being hold responsible, they provoked me." Charlie said and he nodded. "Have you told Mrs. Roper what caused it?" he said and he shook his head.
"Well you two are facing a very firm coach now, not only am I a Coach, I'm a teacher, borderline Sophomore now in teaching at the academy. But the older you guys get, the sterner us adults need to be right now, but the insult now. You're no Ducks, you're Hawks wearing Duck jerseys, you never earned that jersey, that gear, as J.J. said. Wearing a Ducks jersey, that doesn't make you a real Duck, you have to earn it." Orion said and they swallowed hard and the 10 nodded.
"Yeah J.J.: Jesse Jason Hall." Jesse said and he nodded smiling. "Jason Richard Hall, your grandfather's first name is James, so James Richard Hall, Jason's middle name is Richard. While he gave you his name as your middle name, Terry is named after your uncle's twin brother. Wesley Terrance Hall." he said and he smiled, knowing he knew their parents by that reveal. "So you know everything?" he asked and he nodded. "Yes, and Joey's a goalie." he said to him then.
"And that wasn't funny either, but nice knowing you Marks, you don't need to kill each other, but that's what Adams did to get Joey over his fear of being shot at. When we were your age, but Rick, David, Joey, Jason, Gordon, Claire and I were on the Emerson school team. Before we started at the academy, but while their dreams faded to reality, I went pro. And before retiring 2 years ago, after your sister was injured." He said and they nodded to the reveal as she said it.
"Yeesh, so mom to me, Coach to Adam, Charlie to you, Les' to Uncle Rick, Uncle Joe to Greg, Uncle Jason to Jesse and Uncle Dave to Guy. Well we just added Mrs. Duncan to the list and with her, Corporeal Duncan, Uncle Adam and Mr. Reed now, but that's all of us now." she said and he nodded in agreement. "Yeah we're getting better, but still so much to learn, but 2 girls on the team after McGill got rough, that's the payback." Fulton Reed said then and she nodded to that.
"So there it is, 6 weeks after the Planes game, we get the truth, his family are raising money for that experimental treatment, and Bombay let Reilly have it. And then comes any parents reasoning when the team is co-ed now. Six weeks after the Planes game we get the truth, you are so done Peter, he meant the Hawks, if they didn't get the money and fast. She's going to die!" Connie shouted at him sternly then and he swallowed hard at that remark in fear then.
"You nearly got us arrested, blackmailed Les' to side with you, and called me a traitor, only for siding with our parents, to protect the girls, what the heck is the matter with you!" he shouted at him and he started shaking, realizing he was the pariah in the team now. "Dad.." he started to say, before correcting himself, and the 10 smiled, as he said it gently then. "Coach, Coach, whatever idea you have on training, to stay out of trouble, we're going on 11 right now."
"We're going along with it, I want to see you everyday, so no possible stepfather, adoptive is the next best thing, I'm always around your family, but your voice, it sounds familiar. Just 8 years younger, you said you know their parents, do you know my mother, Casey Conway. Or maiden family name, Jacobs: Charlie, Derek, Amy and Casey." he asked and he smiled then. "So that's the maternal family huh, yes I do, but been 8 years, she's possibly my first wife right now."
"Though she is, you walked right into me, your father, time to come home now buddy, you're my baby boy, so before the truth comes out, after a few months. I'm just adopting you now, so you got a father, but everything you need in a mentor now." he said and the 9 smiled at the news, as Connie wrapped her arm around Charlie's waist. "Okay starting now, we're doing fundraising every year till Christmas, all over the district." Charlie said and Adam's father nodded gently.
"After attacking my son, they attack you and you risk a suicidal move, and nearly whatever while doing it, I'm going to kill them here for that. And for them trying to kill you for challenging them to the entire amount all at once, son." he said and Charlie nodded. "We saved her, that's all that matters, but what about their coin of phrase, not worth winning, if you can't win big. Just how big, is charity straight to the children's hospital." he said and they all smiled then.
"God this is going to be a long 18 months to 2 years, if he comes back when we're 12 now, we changed, we grew up, set schedule, the Ducks are a family. But our new leader, our new Father Duck till our original gets back, is Coach Orion, but we got 6 L's, 13 W's, and 1 tie. So next season should be a winning season, as we train all year, till the season starts. But on our own, we're good, together, we're a 2-man wrecking crew." he said and Adam smiled as they chuckled.
"You're my Coach, my mentor now." Charlie said and Orion smiled gently and nodded. "Yeah adoptive, you see me everyday now, kiddo so with that, but I talked to the league. And said until Gordon gets back, I'll take over, so practice is from 3:30 to 5 and study from 5. To 6:30 when your mother gets off." he said and Charlie nodded. "Awesome, we can do that, they know where we are at all times, and the only free-time is weekends." he said and he nodded smiling.
"Yes and after school practice everyday after school now, Fridays are scrimmage games, gentlemen, you got two choices, the new schedule. Or you're cut, the season is over, and I'm coaching you till he gets back." Orion said and he looked at him. "But does this sound familiar." he said and fired off and shouted it. "Freeze, I said freeze!" he called out and they went pale. "I can expect to hear that all the time for the next sum months till Bombay gets back now here."
"But we don't mind, we use your training for whatever we got coming on right now." Connie said smiling and he smiled gently. "You're the type we need, you're a father, is the 5 year old in the wheelchair her?" he asked and Orion nodded. "Yeah that's my baby girl, your sister is her as a 10 year old." he said and she looked down smiling at the compliment and he chuckled. "The teenage season is over, I got all 7 months to spend on you right now." he said and they nodded.
"The 24 think they know everything, but there are 3 key facts here to train in right now, but yeah, guys my team are the Hawks older brothers. Like dad told Bombay, I was used to be a Hawk, before becoming a J.V. Warrior." Jared said and they nodded. "What are we learning that they never considered as peewees here?" Charlie asked and he smiled. "Well training lesson 1) but where is the one place, you never want to clear that puck." he said and he thought it over.
"Jeesh, that cut looks 18 months old, you never noticed that scar across his forehead?" Connie said and he looked at his forehead and shook his head. "There's the punchline baby, go ahead, where is the one place you never want to clear the puck." Orion said and she nodded. "Behind the goal or both sides of it, as there could be a pile up and someone is going to get hurt. If the gloves are not on, all the way on." Charlie said and he nodded smiling as he went to the next.
"Good, how long does it take to score a goal exactly?" he asked him and he nodded. "It takes less than a second: so there is no lead that is safe if you can't, or don't, play defense. Yeah alright you two get this straight, I don't give a darn in how many goals we score. As the one number on your minds is zero, as in shut out, you got that!" Charlie said with a warning look at Peter and Karp and they swallowed hard. "Blue collar hockey, Coach." Jared said to him gently.
"What's that exactly?" Jesse asked and he explained that. "That's pretty much what Reilly was doing to you during the first game, before you beat them at the championships. But they take up every piece of loose trash, that's how they beat you, not with the first shot. But the 2nd and the 3rd, they really bang in the junk, so you want to win, time to pick up the trash. Just don't break a window when you toss said trash in the stands." Orion said and Fulton nodded, smiling.
"How about this one Charlie, make whoever it is make the first move?" Scott, 'Scooter' Holland asked him and he grinned then. "Force whoever it is into an act of desperation, by a fast lunge, with you standing directly in front of them, psyche out method." he said and Orion nodded proudly. "Yeah there you see, what your peers refused to conform to, your brothers and sisters will guys, but boy, after 4 years training, they're going down." he said and the duo nodded then.
"Well we been taught this for 4 years, find we're actually quite good at it, and what your team failed to understand, guys, or refused to, is we're now exercising it so highly. Is we're coming to a new mode of doing this, we're showing off for 2 periods here. Step back a little, let them get in a certain number, and then gloves come off and we finish out strong. So 0 or up to 5, only 5, so stop sleeping on the job here, get to work Peter." Connie said and he flinched at her remark.
"Okay we do that then, Hammer." Charlie said and she smiled at the nickname. "We're the original members of the team here, so next year we get in a few new kids. If they decide not to come back before Bombay comes back, it's just us again here now, guys. Before Bantam starts, and then finish out strong, before we start at the academy, and get a part time job." Tammy Duncan said in response he nodded as he looked at Orion then as he said it it gently to him.
"I'm not entirely sure, but if you're what I look like as an adult, then everyone knows what I grow into now finally. But I'm golden brown, before darkening further, mom's strawberry blonde, Coach." Charlie said and he nodded smiling. "Well with her at the games, I got the box, for the next few years, double duty, as I train you further here. But once Gordon gets back, if you have need to ask for advice, just call, if our new sum is like our current." he said and the 8 nodded.
"Great and there it is, but once is enough, we're not doing that again, so guys on me, me we never get in trouble, side with the hothead, it's detention. Laps, practice at night or whatever, so with me, we don't get caught, whoever it is, we get caught, we're done." he said and they nodded. "Agreed, now that we know the truth, we're not listening to you idiots anymore, but traitor, traitor." Averman said and Peter paled, realizing the entire team sided with Charlie now.
"Yeah we can do this, so you're our Assistant Coach now, that's cool." Jesse said smiling to him and he smiled. "So we're stuck indoors after school, what happened to fun, we're in training all afternoon?" Peter said in disgust and Charlie crossed his arms. "What you call fun, we call a sociopath, but the determination it takes to plan that out with a purse. And very fresh pile of dog's droppings, that's the act of a sociopath, right?" he asked him and they both paled then.
"Yes, and frankly this is why things have to change, but you two, are the Brumly boys, we're Emilio's gang, and Charlie's the narrator. But you don't stick together, make family, not a gang anymore, it's a pack, but longer you spend together, the instincts. They just get stronger, but Jared's team sees me as a drill instructor, hung up on Reilly's training, 5 years Hawks. Adam is a first year Duck now, so no rivalry in the family, as for training here right now in truth now."
"During practice is skating practice with the cones, then shooting practice, and Gregory I think you're a stick, rather then a glove too, I also need to see your shot, Fulton. And then we go through the fundamentals here of what I'm teaching you now. We can convert some of these of to Duck mode now, as the Quack Attack and the V are good, but you need more now." Orion said and the team nodded smiling. "We're going to Emerson." Connie said smiling then gently.
And he nodded. "So's your sister, baby." he said and they smiled. "Oh god, Charlie, if her ball goes rolling right into the street, her friends, there's no fence. And at the entrance of the playground!" Jesse said and he nodded sternly. "We just keep our practice hockey surrounding them, that ball goes rolling the wrong way cover them, I'll get it. Like Adam, Karen is my entire world, take good care of the girls, never know how precious they are.., and I won't lose her."
"Or Winny, you guys are my entire life, the 4 of you, but Team/Family meeting, tonight, things change starting now. But Mr. Banks, just tell Ducksworth what Bombay was trying to say, we can get this done faster, by moderate priced goods. Candy, car washes, books, clothing, the Hawks, both age groups, were wasting time, time she doesn't have." Charlie said and he nodded. "Okay then, back to Bombay's remark, gives back to the community." Banks said gently to that news.
As the entire team nodded to the orders, as they ended it at that. Knowing the meeting was going to cement the future for them, as their current Coach returned. And they prepared for an another championship now, as they gained their sum number. "As for you two, it's two choices here, you can spend 7 months training for the season and I let it go. Or 2), you can leave now, and you're cut next season." he said and Peter looked at him in shock then, before he heard it.
"You sound like Reilly, are you a Hawk as well?" he asked and Orion's eyes narrowed. "Yes, but I'm not explaining myself to you young man, but the guys, Gordon and I quit. After that season game, and we played for Coach, now Dean, Derek Buckley at Eden Hall Academy. Before I went on to join the pros, Gordon went to law school and became a lawyer." he said and the duo paled at the news. "Before leaving for the minors to become a player." Charlie said and he nodded.
"I guess you and Bombay stick together to the very end, you know what, I don't need your stinkin' equipment, see you around." Peter said and as turned and Orion nodded. "Okay good bye Marks, anyone else?" he asked and he froze at that, realizing his way was far stricter. "Yeah that's code for, in father, 'Okay until you stop acting like a child and act your age again here. Then, you're on restriction, starting now.'." Charlie said sternly, crossing his arms then firmly.
"So good bye Peter, Karp, you anything to say here?" Averman asked and he looked at them at that news. "We stay: we play, we leave: we're cut, simple as that, so you want to leave, by all means go, we stay right here. We don't need you, we have plenty of players, but when it comes right down to it, the 11 of us. Now, are the Minneapolis Mighty Ducks now, first time champions, and we have a title to uphold now here." Fulton said sternly and they felt their hearts shatter.
"Just us now, so sorry guys, until you clean up your act, that behavior, you're banned from this team, may get a chance next year, when Bombay gets back. But this upcoming season is just us, and whoever wants to sign in." Charlie said and they nodded sadly and left the house. "Well that gets them out of our hair, Charlie, you're the leader of the 11 of us now buddy." Guy Germaine said and he nodded. "Practice 4 days, study, after practice." he said and they nodded.
"Hey guys, baby, Charlie we got someone pecking on the back window here." they heard from Adam's mother. "Pecking, then we got our mascot just showing up, that the changes of what 2 years does to you that the symbol of District 5 is the Pekin Duck. And you're living right next to the lake, I live 3 doors down Crys'." Orion said and she nodded smiling. "Unless this guy is a jumbo, though he is, his ducklings are the size of a gosling." Banks said and he nodded then.
And the boys walked over and saw a jumbo Pekin with two Ducklings. "Hey guys, decided to drop in huh, yeah and we can use a mascot now." Charlie said and the adult quacked with a smile in the tone. "Well you're getting an adult sized cape with our colors of darker blue, green and golden yellow, the ducklings gets a duckling sized cape in those colors now gently. But said wing shaped down for black circle protects our wings from knife shoe now, so buddy, now."
"The name Donald okay?" he asked and he gave a yes quack. "Okay Donald then, and Huey and Louie." he said and they gave a peep with a smile in their tone, as one of them moved to him. And he ran his fingers through his down and he gave peeped to him. "Your double, Huey, duckling double is no older than we are, but white, you're still yellow. A baby still no older then 7 human years." he said and he peeped. "Okay, my duckling." he said and he peeped happily.
"Okay Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby, and Les and I can spot turns in the case of Dewey now." Jesse said and they nodded smiling. "Whatever show comes out next year, we're preteens and 11 years old, we can switch colors, and we're growing into teenagers. But if it's a martial arts action tv show, we're taking the what goes around, comes around, and it's coming around. Way too far here, just don't tick off the Cobra Kai guys." Adam said and they nodded smiling to that.
As the phone went off and Banks got it. "Banks residence, Phil speaking, oh hey Gordon, yeah man, we're preparing for another season, but my older son's coach took over for you. Yeah exactly, Coach Ted Orion, his current problem are the older brothers of your version. Where are you.., you're playing for the Waves huh, alright Ted has the kids, good luck." he said and Orion waved to him and he passed him the phone and he said it gently to him then at that remark.
"Hey Gordon, yeah I can take over till you get back, but the schedule was just updated now, I set it to practice 4 times a week, scrimmage games on Fridays now. And study also four times a week, yeah exactly, but Peterson bailed on the team and took David with him. Yeah exactly, they're cut next season, and possibly before you get back, so twice in 2 years. They bail one more time, they're not coming back at all.., agreed, yeah okay, their parents are my friends."
"Jason Richard Hall, Claire Warren, David Germaine, Joey Goldberg, Richard Averman, I'm getting to know Andy Reed and Adam's brother is a player on the J.V. team. Yeah exactly here, Peter Duncan and his wife, yeah about that, Peter is the partner of my brother in law. Derek Jacobs, Casey's twin brother, old girlfriend, when we were no older than Jared. Yeah 7 years, we broke up or divorced, she never wanted me to give up that shot." he said and knew he nodded.
"I'm taking the kids through a few updated maneuvers, things Derek taught us in high school when we made Varsity, as he did the entire 5 years. Yeah I know, rather then J.V. and Varsity, we were all one team back in high school, but what 15 years does to you. Yeah trust me I know that, I'm teaching them blue collar hockey and a few psyche out methods. That you can use if we get chosen for some gig when you get back, so 2 weeks then a check back, yeah okay."
"I'll keep you updated, we'll be fine, but I found the problem, the other Coaches, our age group, are all Hawks, our peewee grouping, just like the Shelley Long movie. Didn't have the time, nor patience, to spend on them, or take them to buy real gear and got a donation here. Till we come into the picture, and we got them through basic training, but the sources are about to say. Now that we took an active interest in their lives, and District 5 has finally found it's niche now."
"They're keeping us on, indefinitely now, but same team for 5 years, only way to go, but the end of the line is Bantam year 2, and that's the academy, Derek is now the headmaster. Yeah that's the idea, bigger and better things, the academy is the goal, he could be my son. If he is, then what he and the team desires most, comes to pass, playing for me as their new coach. Yeah sure thing, talk to you later, bye buddy." he said as they said it together as they called it out.
"Bye Coach!" they called out and Orion hid a chuckle as he hung it up. "He said bye and call him up if you want to talk to him, but he's fine with my being in charge till he comes home." he said and they nodded. "Well we got a lot of work to do, but we can train at our neighborhood ice rink so after school, 3:30, so everyone get changed and into our game sweats. Before dad and Jenkins picks us up for practice right now." Charlie said and they nodded as they got ready then.
As the next day they did practice then, watching them skate, he nodded. "Yeah I see the problem, you ever wonder what the gold on your jerseys means?" he asked and they shook their heads. "When you get your jerseys exactly?" he asked and Charlie explained that. "A little over 6 weeks ago." he said and he chuckled. "Think about your animal, you gained your name and your jerseys a few weeks ago, so with that…" he said and they looked down and he nodded.
"Yeah you're ducklings, if you gained it last year, you hatched last year, this year you're fully adjusted to being a duckling now, but you're a hatchling till you gained more stability. Next season you're a duckling, and when you're 12, the down starts fading now, and you turn white." he said and the team nodded smiling at the biology lesson. "Peep." they said in response and he chuckled. "Quack." he said in response gently. 'Yeah my babies.' he thought, smiling to this.
"This is going to work out just fine, the season just ended and I've decided to coach you till he gets back, so you still have a coach we'll pull it off now. But watch it Hawks, you're going down, but to think I wasted all those years, worrying about what you thought. You're going down Reilly, I'm back right now, Teddy, Ted, Orion is back now and your days are done." Orion said smiling sternly, looking at the next yellow 2nd place banner, after 19 years now finally.
The Rescue And Preventative Measures, Christmas Season-1992-1993:
After an action packed spring and summer, before the season started, the team had won 11 home games and 5 away now, under the careful training and tutorial Orion now. Truly feeling like winners now, they showed their skill under him, as they started scoring shot after shot. On their opponents, but blocked shot after shot on their goal to the point now there. That every team was enjoying things, as they wanted to see the Hawks get put back in second place again.
As, including their first against the Hawks, winning on a real win rather than a penalty shot, the season was big, as by the weeks leading into Christmas, the fundraisers had scored $450,000. As the gauntlet had been thrown for the entire amount that year to finish paying it off, in the amount, that the Hawks were trying to, at first. Raise for the Banks, the Ducks had risen more then $500,000 all within a month and half, by Charlie's declaration, to Ducksworth's law firm.
Said had started such an uproar in town now, that they had 10 more new Ducklings added to the team and were realizing, in driving the level of skill home to the Hawks now. That the Hawks praying, now, they won the championships to save their first year tuition money. Crossed the line between desperation and cold blooded murder, while the team was on the lake. In babysitting, the Hawks desperate to save their future, decided to kill the leader of their rivals.
Watching the team from the banks, they threw a lit cherry bomb, as the Ducks were at the lake as they were going ice skating. As they did several rounds as Charlie was spending time with Karen, before they heard an explosion. "What was that?" Jesse said slowly and Charlie hold his hand up as they heard a slow crackling and he turned as they heard the cracking getting louder. And he looked down at the ice as he saw it looking close to shattering and shouted it out then.
"Wait, stop don't move!" Charlie shouted out just as the ice cracked under his sister. "Karen!" he shouted out just as he just as he got into position as it cracked under her chair nearly taking them both in, as he felt the water slosh his legs. As he quickly worked to keep it from taking her down as he said it to her then. "Got it, hang on, baby hang on, help, we need help, help!" he screamed as he got her belt undone and finally off then.
As he pulled her up back as several adults arrived, as he pulled her away from it as the ice under him broke as he pushed her out of range, as he went under. "No, no Charlie, Charlie!" she screamed as they arrived then. "Adam help me get her away from there." Jesse snapped as he and Connie grabbed her and pulled her back to make sure the entire lake didn't go as they pulled her back slowly as she struggled to get back to her brother.
As Jesse grabbed her and pulled her back. "No Charlie!" she screamed and as the adults quickly broke the ice and pulled him out. "Call 911 now, exposure!" an adult shouted out as Jenkins grabbed the phone in his car and quickly dialed the number then. "One of my players was on the ice and it cracked underneath him as he was saving his sister. I need the paramedics here right now!" he said and nodded as they quickly pulled back then.
"Charlie, Charlie wake up, wake up!" she screamed in fear her brother had drowned then as they quickly resuscitated him as he coughed up water as he was shaking from the cold as he heard the voice of his father then as he burrowed into his arms to warm up and the man said it gently. "It's okay buddy, I'm here." he said as they quickly backed up. "Wait, the cord!" the paramedic snapped and he hung on to keep what yanked him under then.
From doing it again, as someone cut the laces off from the one that was trying to pull them closer to the spot then. "I think the laces caught my wheelchair!" she said and they nodded. "The spokes, in trying to save your life he didn't realize his laces were untied and the spokes caught it and pulled him under." he snapped and they nodded. "Back up slowly, or the entire thing is going to go!" The fireman snapped and they nodded then.
As they got him to the bank and on a stretcher then. "Guys, there's blood on his jeans!" The fireman snapped and they pushed the cuff up and saw a cut the size of a half dollar om his leg and he quickly snapped it out then. "Get the skates off, before he accidentally cuts himself further here!" he snapped and the paramedics quickly removed it. "Son, son, I'm here, I'm here baby, I'm here." Orion said shaking as they took them quickly.
Then, to the hospital then. "Daniel, Daniel, I need you out here, it's my son this time!" he called out and they got them in the same room as she waited for her brother to wake up then, before dosing off herself and they laid her down on the bed and covered her with a blanket. "Well another 18 months in a nap for her after that she's able to stay awake, but it's been a long day right now." Orion said as he looked between his children then.
And in relief he never lost them both then as he looked up at the doctor thst came in as he said it softly then as Casey arrived then in time for the report then as he crossed his arms. "That skate blade was dunked in filthy water and we gave him a dose of penicilin to prevent infection, and stitched up his lower leg right now guys. But treating him for hypothermia is working right now, I'm keeping him on penicillin till I release him."
"But he can go home on Wednesday, I just need to make sure for a few days right now in truth here, to make sure he does doesn't get sick. And from that dunk in there right now, Casey, are any of your friends a nurse or doctor?" he asked and she nodded. "The Halls, Jason's wife is a nurse, she can monitor him as we make sure." she said and he nodded. "Alright, but he's on these for two weeks, twice a day after breakfast and dinner now."
"It was close, but he's going to be fine, Ted." his daughter's pediatrician said and he, Casey and Kimberly nodded in relief then. "This is too much right now, first her and now my son, if this was intentional they just ticked me off here right now. What about my daughter, he barely got the belt off here now?" he asked and he nodded. "Charlie pushed her away from the spot that broke, before they both went in, he took the brunt."
"But he's going to be fine and she's going to be just fine, chair's gone, you're going to need a new one." he said and they nodded. "Small price to pay for my children's life, but there's his remark right now." he said and the doctor nodded. "He's on a hold for a week then he can get back on the ice, but on bed rest for a few days." he said and they nodded as he opened up his eyes. "She okay?" he asked and they nodded gently then.
"She's fine, but you, it was close." she said and he sighed. "How long am I nested for?" he asked and she hid a smile. "The hospital, 2 days, and in bed and resting for a week, your wing got clipped kiddo." the doctor said gently and he nodded. "Well these guys crossed a line, we just entered the playoffs, but if they did this. And they're beyond desperate." he said and they nodded sternly at that remark as they exchanged looks.
"Yes well they may claim a whiplash if their goalie got hit by Fulton's shot, but a whiplash is nothing next to what they just did to you. I'm going to hold a medical bill till after you win that game, but I'm a duck loyalist compared to that oncologist treating Winny." he said sternly just as Karen woke up from her nap, saw him awake and quickly said it gently as Orion picked her up and sat her down on his bed then in relief.
"Charlie!" she said quickly and he hugged her tightly. "I'm okay baby, I'm okay, but you okay?" he said quickly and she nodded as she buried her face into his neck then. "Peter, so help me god, do not start with me right now." He said in a warning tone then as she shifted position to sitting in his lap and he wrapped his arms around her. "Well that crossed the line finally, did they really think they could get away with this, because I could be considered two people here."
"And of that storyline, and to the team, I'm their leader now, what is this going to do to you guys and their parents, do they not realize they turned to the flame on high?" Charlie asked and his mother Casey crossed her arms sternly. "If they didn't, they lost their minds, but a whiplash or whatever is nothing next to attempted murder here right now, baby. But honestly, your father is going to kill these guys financially for this right now, in truth here at the moment."
"I think the Varsity was the one that did that, but as you said teenage Socs right now, but just what do they take us for a complete idiot. As you don't carry around fireworks with you, we know where you guys are everyday after school." she said and he nodded. "What they do to my leg exactly?" he asked, feeling something wrapped around it. "Not the ice, you accidentally cut yourself with those skates." Orion said to him gently then.
"Sis, Ted, that was no accidental dunk, I found a dead fuse next to the spot that cracked." Jacobs said and they nodded. "Someone tried to kill my son why, unless..., our wager, they tried to kill Charlie to get themselves out of this." Orion said sternly in anger. "How stupid do you brats think we are right now, we warned you and you still do this right now. As this is tantamount to said lead Soc." The doctor said and he nodded sternly.
"Said lead Soc that tried to kill the narrator and ended up dead, but their leader is dead, and chapter 5, begins now here." Jacobs partner said, just as the door slammed open and Jenkins came in with 3 boys and Orion stood up then. "You just arrest these brats right now Eric?" the Police Chief asked him and he nodded. "And I found these in his coat picket, these 3 did it." he said as he passed a small baggie to him then and he nodded.
"I was right, Riley, Cole and Brown, were Larson and McGill with you!" Orion growled and they started shaking in fear. "Answer me young man, were McGill and Larson with you!" he said sternly and they went white and he nodded sternly. "If you did this, then your parents are being sued for every dime they have, this is war now gentlemen, war. You're murderers, murderers, I should have known you'd be this desperate to hold your titles as the best team in the league."
"But you have enough money to save up for 2 years, you can just do it that way, but no you had to do this, we'll let me tell you gentlemen. We're enemies now, I maybe your coach, but I'm the coach of your worst nightmares starting now. Constant training, I will never get off your backs, ever, so welcome to hell now." he said and they paled and looked at the chief. "I'm pressing charges, they're the Socs that got Sheldon killed now." he said and the chief nodded sternly.
"We all gone duck in this town you little brats." he said and they paled. "Well guys it didn't work, but if that's not desperation and nothing is right now, but do you realize. That to Adam, he now had a very good reason to get away from you now, before he turned into you. You just ticked him off right now and enough he's going to get you for this right now. But want to get away with it, don't stick around or carry the evidence around with you here right now in truth here."
"As if you don't get in trouble enough already, or your brothers don't, dad filled me in, your training can't compare with mine right now, but there it is. We conformed faster then your brothers did and became this good in only a month now. But you realize this is going to get you guys tried guilty in the court of the law, you could have. In addition to us, killed 45 other people right now." Charlie said and the chief crossed his arms sternly.
"Never thought this all the way through gentlemen, well why doesn't that surprise me right now, but there it is, try to target him and his friends again. And you once again never consider it wouldn't be them that struck your booby trap first. It could be a few dozen innocent bystanders and to be carrying the evidence around with you. That's beyond idiocy, as you just gave us everything we need to convict you now in truth."
"Cherry bombs, well gentlemen what do you have say for yourselves, but if you're trying to save your careers this way. You just crossed a line, one you can never take back right now, I knew we had no reason to trust you. But as Charlie said here: editorials in the newspaper for being a disgrace to society one day and public asset the next. At least he was willing to prove there is more to them then everyone thought right now here."
"By risking a suicidal move like this to help a child who lost her ability to walk or swim, and also like he said: we would never see your attempt as charity. But as the subtext you would never risk your necks to do the right thing and they did right now. But you little monsters just crossed a serious line and we're making sure you get nailed to the wall for." he said and he got ready to drag the trio to the police station and his parents and Annie crossed their arms as he said it.
"The amount worth together is several hundred thousand, bordering 1 million here in amounts, anyone banking their life savings on this game is trying to rid the leader of the competition. But there's the case, this, attempted second murder and every game we win here now. Is making the opposition, in truth, more desperate, but 2 weeks, before the next game then he's back." Gordon said and he nodded as he hugged his son and he smiled as she brushed his hair back.
"That was intentional, I heard an explosion and then looked down, as I saw the ice starting to crack, just as it went under her chair, and I barely made it. Now in getting the belt off, but the team pulled her back, just as the spokes caught my skates." he said his parents nodded as he answered him then. "That's one heck of a rescue buddy, I'm proud of you right now." Orion said and he nodded gently as he answered him then gently.
"Like I said the girls are worth this right now, I think it was Riley and his gang that did that right now, though now that we saw them we know they did it. But if that's that not desperate and nothing is." he said and his parents nodded. "Hey man you okay, baby, you alright?" they heard as the team came in then and they both nodded then firmly. "Yeah, but down for a week right now, with us at this stage, it's the same as Maine during winter the water's ice cold right now."
"The ice cracked where we were and I got her belt undone, before it took us both in right now, but it caught my ankle and pulled me in, before they got me out." he said and they nodded. "The spokes caught your skates and pulled you in." Connie said and he nodded. "This character that did this is in big trouble, it's a wonder they didn't kill you right now!" Averman said in fury and he nodded as she hugged him tightly then as he smiled then.
As he pressed his forehead to her's then as she pressed her forehead to his gently as her hand stroked the hair at the back of his head. "I'm okay Connie, I fine, my wing got clipped, so nested for a week, and mother duck is my nurse." he said gently and they nodded. "At least it was nothing worse, but in all honesty, you scared the heck out of us, we thought we lost you." Fulton said and the 9 nodded in agreement as they looked at their leader gently then at this.
"Now they done it here, as if we don't hate them enough already, but now they target you brother, baby, they're done!" Jesse said sternly and the sextet nodded. "Easy guys, don't lose it, I get it, but you never lost me, I'm right here, still a team, we're still a full team." Charlie said and they nodded as the 9 gave him a hug and he pressed his forehead to Adam's gently. As he closed his eyes. 'First my sister and now nearly him too, that's it!' Adam thought in fury at this.
As he tightened his arms in relief, that his best friend hadn't been killed that day as he said it, as he turned around and saw the trio in question. "That's my version, not your's, son." Orion said and he nodded in fury. "First you nearly take away my sister by your refusal to part with a little off the top and now you almost kill my best friend. You just created a monster here you three, you, Jason and Chris you're through now you hear me, through." he said and they swallowed.
"I'm no Hawk, or Warrior, I'm a Duck, I belong with my flock, but I swear to god, come near my family again, and we will never stop, ever. Coach Reilly just created a monster, as did you, to think we spent all those years worrying about what you losers thought. The Hawks are going down at last, but I'm a Duck, you hear me, a Duck, I'll play like a Duck. But want to get dangerous, lets see how you like being everything you call us for once." he said sternly to them.
"Get them out of here, wait till Dad and Jared find out." he growled and the chief nodded sternly as the cops dragged them out of the room. "Best friend, that just says it all, you're a Duck you belong with your flock now, time to come home." Charlie said and the 9 nodded in agreement. "You guys are my home, my real team to think I wasted 18 months, worrying about what he thought of me in playing for him, he's going down, at last." he said and looked at Charlie.
"Dead duck walking here." Jesse said for him and he nodded in agreement, before they heard a paddling down the hall, with 5 more following it. "Quack?!" they heard as he saw their team mascot Donald fly onto the bed then and sit there. "Quack?" he said and he nodded. "Big black duckling flock injured my wing, knife shoe, so nested for a week, then back on frozen pond. So no, Duckling not grounded, boy." Charlie said and the duck gave an understanding quack then.
"Meow mew?" Ginger, the Halls girl cat, asked him and he looked at her. "Quack." he said in response and he looked at her gently and Karen looked down as she started laughing at that. "Donald, what are you doing in here?" Casey said and Orion chuckled. "Checking on Ducklings." he said and the team started laughing. "Interspecies friendship, she's smaller then he is right now, with her 18 months old right now." Jesse said with a laugh and Orion nodded smiling.
As the duo both looked at them with an amused smile in their eyes then. "Mew?" she asked and he said it. "Quack quack." he said in response. "You're bigger then any normal white duck I've seen, what are you?" she asked and he translated that. "The ducklings say my breed is a jumbo sized Pekin, I'm twice your size, you're a kitten still here, once fully grown. But my ducklings are still yellow, a few more weeks then they go white." Orion said with a gentle tone to her then.
"You know I'm their flock mascot guys, as such, I was coming to check on duckling and baby duckling after he said she lost her ability to paddle." he said with a quack and they gave a mew of understanding then. "Well we know not to mess with your species, because you this size, you're going to smack us in the head by winging us." she said in response and Karen was shaking in laughter at her remark. "Guys easy." Spike, their other cat said and they nodded.
"Well there's something you normally never hear here, Donald is as big as she is, but the quartet, watch it here. Webby, guys, stay in the hall, you're small enough you're still easy pickins'." Charlie said and they heard 4 peeps in response. "Like any normal family, if one of the 13 was nested, they're going to check on their team mate here. But Huey is me, in being a real duckling here, if he got hurt, that's the response." he said and the team nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, but you just scared the life out of us here man, we're not losing you." Adam said gently and he nodded. "Yeah those brats just started something now here, regarding you, you're the heart and soul of the team, the 10 can't get along without you, son." Banks said and Orion nodded in agreement. "Well if this doesn't bring the point home and nothing will right now, but this was attempted murder, if these idiots are that desperate, my warning got to them."
"Leader of the 11 of us, my declaration just drove the point home right now." he said and they nodded. "Well keep the ice rescues to a minimum after your mother's reaction with the car." Eric Jenkins said and he nodded gently then. "Not my fault here dad, the others wanted a ride in the car, before mom pulled it over. But the wheelchair is one thing, but inside the car, you're going to freeze to death, which is what he meant earlier." he said and the Orions nodded sternly.
"Yep, and that's the only time, is that clear cubs?" he said sternly and the sextet nodded to the orders then. "What a year right now, we really pulled it off, it's like it always was Bombay, Adam joins the team and it feels like he's been here for the last 3 years right now. It's almost like it was always Bombay, while dad has been with us even earlier than that now." Charlie said and they nodded then smiling as Orion smiled as Karen looked at her brother with a smile then.
"Anyone else feel like we've been together for 3 years instead of the 4 of us joining in the last 9 months now, and while Bombay has really been our coach for the last 3 years, instead of the past season?" Adam asked and the 7 nodded in agreement smiling then. "Tell me about it, it's like we always knew who you guys are to Charlie and to us, baby was our baby sister as well." Averman said and she looked down smiling as he looked her with a brotherly smile then gently.
"We've gotten beyond good in the last 8 months, we won 10 games and now life took a total switch around right now to the point, we're now like any other team. Adam is now feeling part of the team, only been 9 months and we're like any other team now. That's now, that just what happens if those idiots try anything else." he said and he crossed his arms. "I'm not sure, but they're digging a very, very deep hole right now, but this is cold blooded attempted murder."
"But I wasn't kidding here right now, I will never stop till whoever tried to kill you is put behind bars here right now, you're like another son to me, I love you kiddo." Banks said and Charlie nodded as he hugged the older man tightly. "Hey guys it's all over the news right now, Duck leader saved a duckling with a broken wing, and nearly breaks a wing himself." Jess said and they nodded sternly at that. "Nice publicity right now." Casey said bemused then at that.
"More like borderline 12 week old duckling saves his 4 week old sister duckling from sinking in the lake, after losing her ability to paddle here." Orion said in response and Jesse nodded to the remark as Connie crossed her arms gently then. "And that's Eli and the girl playing Culkin's sister entirely, but these guys are beyond sick that even trying a stunt like this. Is going to have everyone in school on the warpath here, but you just made clear here now."
"What's the time we got until the next game, we're in the playoffs here?" he asked and they nodded. "That's 2 weeks, but you're on a hold for a week and then back on the ice right now pal, but at least that's synthetic and not real ice here right now. Though the school's rink is directly over a frozen swimming pool when they created it 30 years ago." Orion said and he nodded as he leaned his head at that remark then firmly then.
"Swimming during summer is better then this right now, but after that dunk, I'm never getting on the lake again when it's frozen, I go skating, it's synthetic ice starting now." he said and their parents nodded in understanding. "I don't blame you for that, but guys the system is real ice, so if they struck the wrong pipe, tell me immediately." Orion said and they nodded. "If we got a business trip that month, we're back in time for this brawl." Jason Hall said and he nodded.
"Next question is it me or both of us right now, they knew she's a paraplegic, do they realized this can get them killed, target a child, it puts you in court?" he said sternly and they nodded. "I'm not sure, but your remark of risking your life for kids her age, just became the punchline here. But this took the punchline to a whole new meaning right now, but this gets out in the city, but this makes it clear right now, but if that's not desperate and nothing is right now in truth."
"This is going to be a long 2 years, they lose once and get stabbed in the wing, try again next year and another claw to the wing, try a third time and get stabbed. Come on just give it up, before you can't take off at all right now, you bird brains." he said and their parents nodded. "No kidding, guys, you can't reverse this, after 3 years, it's permanent, so you start '97, them '96. Now get over it Riley, that's enough." Orion said sternly and Hall nodded in agreement then.
"Do we tell our new recruits this, their beef was with the 11 of us, our sum number players are being picked on, because of us." Averman asked and they both nodded. "We do, but they're in enough trouble already right now, but target Adam, there's going to be heck to pay. And after they outright said she's expendable, before trying to kill your brother and sister. Like Charlie said, stick together, don't make one target." he said and the 10 nodded gently to the orders.
"Wait, two days hospital…" Charlie said and then sighed as he looked down and Casey nodded. "Strange bed, if this was out of town, he gets out of his bed and decides to sleep on the sofa. And after falling asleep watching tv." she said and he nodded. "Yeah alright, if you're both hospital, then I'm staying both nights to keep you company here guys." he said and Kimberly nodded in understanding. "Then again, once our tutor finds out." Connie said and Orion nodded.
"Issues in our family, we're adjusting here now and it's been a 9 months, but this was the first step, papa bear with his cubs when stuck in bed right now, need to stay warm. And don't start with me, two days is one thing, but until we're sure, you're nested, so stay put duckling." he said and Charlie looked down and the doctor chuckled at that. "I'll get your stuff from our apartment." Casey said and Kimberly nodded. "Me too." she said and they left the room at that.
"Mew?" Ginger asked and she smiled. "Spike is already spending the night, and now you, someone is going to wonder why we got two cats running loose in the children's ward." the doctor said to her and she meowed. "Alright, but only for tonight." Anna said and they meowed in a happy tone to that as she leaned against Charlie's side then. "Yeah guys, you better let them rest, a close call like this drains your strength." Orion said and they nodded gently then.
As the team exchanged hugs with them, before they left the room, as Charlie leaned against the back of his bed, as he put on the Disney channel for her. And saw they were showing Donald Duck cartoons and leaned back to watch. "Man Donald, you just never learn to control that temper of your's do you, pal." he said with a laugh, as 45 minutes later their mothers came back then and she set his duck sweats on the dresser then, as he relaxed as he waited it out.
Knowing he was going to be back on the rink and giving the Hawks a real run for their money later then…..
Back On The Ice-Two Weeks Later:
After being released from the hospital, he spent another week in bed, and then after making sure his cut was fully healed, he got back on the ice then. After hearing of his heroic deed, then he was now skating around the school gym then. "Hey man, time for recess!" Adam shouted out and he nodded as he grabbed his stuff and left the rink before they went outside to play street hockey, before a kick ball went rolling passed them and he looked up then quickly then.
"No, no guys, wait, wait, I'll get it." he snapped as he quickly ran after the duo that chased after the ball, as it rolled into the street, as he stopped them as the car was coming. As it barely missed them, as he grabbed them. "Guys, I'll get it, you just stay with the 10." he said and they nodded. "That was too close right now, cubs be more careful, and thanks, you okay kiddo!" the driver said in relief to that response as the Hawks were shaking in fear as their teachers nodded.
As he walked back to the 6 kindergarteners. "Guys be more careful and keep that surrounded, before that happens again." he said and the sextet nodded as he gave it back to his sister, as he kissed the top of her head and she smiled and their teachers smiled gently. "Yeah big brother with his baby sister, he's 14 trapped in a preteen body." Johnson said to his homeroom teacher and he nodded smiling as they saw how fast he changed as he saw the look of love then.
In the eyes of his friends towards him then, later that day came time for their practice. "Hey time for practice now, gear up guys." Charlie said and they nodded. "Son you keep this up, you're going to scare us into a heart attack, take it easy on us." the coach of their school said. "I take it the entire faculty knows what happened earlier?" he asked and they nodded gently. "We do, but you just recovered from your leg, so be careful." Coach Jane Wilcox said to him then.
"Yes Mam." he said as Orion arrived then gently. "Another close one today, the kids kickball rolled into the street, and Charlie prevented a hit and run here." She said and he nodded with a sigh. "To repeat what they said be careful, these close calls if you keep this up are going to scare us into a heart attack, son, be careful." he said and Charlie nodded as his stepmother arrived to get Karen. "Their kickball rolled into the street, close call." Charlie said and she nodded gently.
"We got to put up a fence around the school yard, so we don't have anyone losing their kickball or what not and it rolling down the driveway." the coach said and she nodded in agreement then. "The team and I were playing street hockey today, Coach." he said and they nodded. "Well that explains why you were wearing your roller blades, and a bike helmet this morning. As you're playing street hockey with your friends here." his teacher said and he nodded gently.
"Same difference, the school yard is the same as the ice rink, so helmet and gear here." he said and they nodded gently. "Yes and we're setting up a better fence starting now, to prevent anymore kickballs or what not from rolling into the street now. But if you're sticking close to your sister and her friends, block that ball from rolling down the street. Till we get the fence set up." Mrs. Kathryn Roper said and he nodded, as they got ready to leave for practice then….
