Waves of blood rushed out the lake borders and onto the cliff.
The blood spilled out behind him, filling in muddy footprints and dragging loose slags of mud and dirt into the pitch black. Thunder roared in the distance along with the endless pattering of the bloody rain. The trees swayed with the wind, shaking more blood out of their leaves and onto the ground. Dripplers slowly drifted through the air, oozing out flesh that fell into the lake and was lost in the endless rushing rapids. Something was coming, he could feel it, something big.
*BOOM!*
A huge bolt of lightning struck the opposite end of the lake, setting several bushes ablaze, then put out by the wind. The waves became bigger and bigger, now nearly engulfing the entire rim. Low growling and barking and hissing came out from the lake. He hastily turned around and charged up the gun. Something was crawling out. Was it the corpses? No. The last he's seen them was in the lake, but they were gone, possibly chewed down by a bigger threat. Another bolt of lightning struck blinding the man as the gun dropped from his hand. He rubbed off his eyes before witnessing what had came
In front of him raised a huge hand, bigger than his head and covered with crimson scales. The hand quickly slammed down onto the cliff, digging its claws into the soil. The creature slowly raised itself onto the cliff.
Holy hell...
Even when its back was crouched down the creature was an entire arm taller than the man. Its forehead was shaped like a spear, with a monstrous maw containing several rows of serrated teeth. jagged fins grew on the underside of their forearm, along its back and tail. The monster was covered in crimson scales, which reeked out blood from the crevices. It growled deeply, the sound bouncing through the walls of his ears.
A hemogoblin shark, a mutation of blood designed to demolish everything it can, it has vigorous power and speed but still can be killed if you play it carefully and slowly.
The hemogoblin shark lashed its claws out, screaming a deep roar before charging toward the man. Even from its sheer size and muscularity the shark still managed to bolt at him faster than he ever could. It brought down a single fist on him which he rapidly rolled away. It then crouched down and leaped almost right on top of him, chiseling through the stone. He quickly ran behind one of the enormous elephant ears while the shark was still pulling its fists out of the ground. He grabbed onto the magic gun and charged it to its fullest. The shark slowly inched around, trying to sniff out his location.
The man carefully peaked closer, before he felt a strong rustle against the leaves. He looked behind him, around a small tree was the huge fist of the shark, proudly grasped around the trunk like a halberd. Behind it was the towering stature of the monster. It sent another fist flying down on him, which he barely escaped. The man dusted the gravel off him and brought up the gun to the shark's head, tightening on the trigger. Its grip on the tree trunk hardened as the spindly roots were torn out from the ground, wrapping around a huge mass of soil. The shark lifted the tree onto both hands and hurled it through the air. The clump of soil shattered into thousands of pieces, sending a wall of dust and debris into his eyes. Rocks bounced across the cliff, like leather balls, and several bruised the man's forehead and caused blood to drip all the way down his stomach.
ow...
He was quickly sent tumbling toward the cliff edge, dropping the gun. The horrific shadow of the shark slowly stalked closer, only its eyes shining through the ashes. He quickly ran into the blurry cloud, snapping down the trigger. Thunderclaps beat across dusty air, sparks of electricity zapping into its skin. As the dust cleared away, he saw exactly the opposite of his expectation.
The gun, all of the bolts, had barely done a number on the shark. A weapon that once liquified the flesh of corpses, had only burnt up a few scales.
What is this thing made of?!
The shark seized him by the neck and lifted him up from the ground. The gun dropped from his grasp, along with his breath every second. The relentlessly tried to escape, hitting and kicking with all his might, but the monster didn't even flinch. It unhinged its serrated jaw and slowly brung the man's head right into it. Staring into the cold abyss of the shark's throat the man felt nightmares sizzling into his mind. Strange symbols and incantations written with blood filled his head, diving deeper until he could see his very own soul engulfed with fear. Around it sounded whispers to abrupt shouts that overlapped and mixed together until they were just a shattering jumble of noise. It's jaws were practically over him now, all the random noise was now replaced with the sounds of bones cracking and skin being ripped apart, the images now stained with his corpse. But just before the man would lose everything, another creature arose from the sanguine waters.
The shark turned its head away. On the edge of the cliff stood the shadowy cast of a long serpent. The shark dropped the man from his fist, snarling at the new foe. The serpent rattled, before letting out a shattering shriek. The serpent lunged at the shark, revealing itself as a colossal sanguine eel, with long spear-like teeth and a pair of pitch-black eyes. The eel bit down on the shark, the two gnashing their jaws at each other before starting a malicious battle to the death. The man watched with curiosity, holding down his injuries.
Another eel pierced up from the lake, joining in with the battle. The two slowly ripped the shark apart, cutting through every limb and tearing it off the body. It wailed with agony as it was made little by little into a puddle of flesh.
Blood eels, vicious hunters that spend their little time eviscerating everything they see. They have quick attacks and dodges but can be easily outsmarted.
Well, that's one monster down...
The second eel backed away from the first's hunt, but then quickly turned his attention to the man. He grabbed the gun and backed away, waiting for its strike. The eel cocked its neck and jabbed toward him, snapping its jaws. The man slid back, snapping down the trigger once again. The bolts melted some of its skin but didn't do anymore. The eel let out a huge shriek and seemingly flew out of the water and into the air. It quickly slithered around him, swiping its head and tail furiously. The other eel charged into the battle, circling around him like a ring. The two lashed against him in sync, slithering through the air like kites. They began to pound down onto the ground, smashing through the mud, attempting to hit the man. He quickly rolled back from each crash of their foreheads. The eels' bodies slowly intertwined against each other, wrapping them in a knot. They attempted to crash down again but only hit each other, screaming in pain.
They're completely vulnerable to any attack now, but your shocker can only do so much to them...
The man looked back at the torn corpse of the shark; it was glowing with a golden light. He inched closer. The entire corpse was illuminated with a bright yellow outline that sparked out glitter that faded in the air.
What...
The man tapped on the corpse. Suddenly it started to glow brighter, the particles now flying into the center. From the particles formed a strange red flower, connected into a hard thorny stem. His veins glowed once more in its sight.
A blessing...during some occasions the heavens will gift somebody valuable treasures for their valiant acts of courage.
And what? It gives me a tiny flower?!
It's a blood thorn, it summons giant red thorns to rise up from the ground to impale your enemies. Just give it a try.
The eels untangled themselves and went directly back to charging toward him. He quickly held the thorn between two hands and pointed it toward the approaching serpent. Immediately giant thorny branches burst out from the ground, rose up into a wave, and hacked into the eel. The thorns swiped around the soil, tattering deep lacerations each time it hit the eel until each of its body segments was skewered onto a bloody needle. A grim smile spread across his face.
The second eel lunged toward but before the thorns could make another corpse glowing red bullets shot through its body. The bullets kept coming, punching direct holes into the eel until it laid slain upon a pool of its own blood. A huge nautilus stood floating on the cliff. Its shell was edged with red and white stripes and a row of thick blades. On its face were hundreds of wriggling pink and pair of soulless, bloodshot eyes, topped with a strong pink hood. The enormous mollusk didn't growl or shriek, only making a low rumbling noise.
The man looked down on the bullets it fired; they were bubbling teardrops of blood that came from the rivers running down its eyes. He shook with fear. This creature had just taken down something he could barely fight with just a few bullets. The man questioned how could something this overwhelmingly powerful be just lurking right here, and what else might be under? The nautilus rumbled again, and its eyes glowed red.
...shit...
