TENSUDRA

A man who spent his whole life chasing dreams of dragons, end up being one among them after his death.

Prologue 1: Where the dragons went

"Master says that we won't see You again. We are sad. So are the remaining Others. We once filled each other's heads with dreams and goals. It is so sad that we cannot share them any longer. Master says we have to go. He says that he will make us a new Fantasy. He says You cannot be a part of it. We are sad. We love you. We will not Forget you. We are scared. Will You Forget Us?"

~ SCP-1762-1's last message before ceasing activity.

"They came to us with hope that we would view
Them as they once appeared in all their glory
Wanting us to help, and not to be skewed
As drawings in a children's fairy story
But all they were was paper, folded tight
Into flimsy avatars of splendor
They tried to warn us of the dying light
That war was coming, and they couldn't render
Themselves upon us, they needed our aid
But all we saw was toys alighting on
Our fingertips, their messages waylaid
And then came fire, blood—then they were gone
We've now lost how they had loved us before
"Here were dragons" is how we've priced their lore."

"Where The Dragons Went", Second Quarto.

DRAGON.

A large magical legendary creature that appears in the folklore of many cultures worldwide.

Gigantic winged, horned, gigantic creatures capable of breathing fire.

Or inteligent wingless, four-legged, serpentine creatures.

Dragons have always been a fascinating subject for me.

I love to get lost in the fantasy worlds and have been travelling to these realms since I was a child.

Everyone thought I would grow out of my obsession with these fantasy worlds and that it was "just a phase".

But dragons have always stayed at the forefront of my mind.

I've researched dragons and they have always been a big deal, making appearances in myths and folklore since the time of the ancient Sumerians.

But nobody can really pinpoint where or when they came from.

Some think they were an attempt to explain early whale or dinosaur bones.

Some think that lizards or crocodiles may have been mistaken for them.

Others believe that they simply represent our fear of great predators.

I have spent my whole life searching for the roots of these legends.

But for many, dragons satisfy our fascination with power. Who wouldn't want to see a huge flying beast release a torrent of flames, or manipulate other elements with their magical and ancient powers ?

Funny how this is what I think when my whole life is flashing before my eyes.

My time has come. Yet, I still have too many lingering regrets, unfinished dreams, and unfulfilled wishes.

However, only through death, shall eternal life will be given.

I have long learnt how to let go. How to detach myself from mortal desires. How to sever the chains made of fear and doubts.

However...

...I still don't want to leave this world yet.

I still have one last linger wish.

I still want to chase that delusion.

I still want to see…

… Where the dragons went.
