Chapter 1

It is time for us to head to Johto, now Lillie is with me as we promised to travel together in Johto. As for the Pokemon, we bring Pikachu, Charizard, Charla, Butterfree, Pink Butterfree, Lapras, and some Pokemon that still need to evolve in our team with us. And once we are prepared, we are now headed to Johto.

"Strange...this place is quite misty..." Lillie says to me.

"I know. Don't tell me that we're lost in the forest..." I say.

Just then, we hear something and we decide to follow the sound, and we find that there is a shadow standing on the water. "A Pokemon..." Lillie says. "And it's beautiful..."

Then the Pokemon just hops away. We try to follow the Pokemon, and then we finally find New Bark Town.

"There it is! New Bark Town!" I say. "A town with the winds of a New Beginning blows! Our adventure starts right here."

When we get to the lab, we notice a strange red-haired boy sneaking at the window, muttering, "So this is the famous Elm Pokemon Lab... What are you two staring at?"

We didn't think much about it before we enter the lab and meet Professor Elm. And once we enter the lab, Professor Elm asks, "Are you the new trainers that are going to start the journey?"

"Uh... sorry, but we're not..." I say. We introduce ourselves and Professor Elm says, "Ah, you must be the new League winner of the Kanto Region."

"Yeah, that's right. And I'm here to register for the Pokemon League!" I say.

"So that means you know about Professor Samuel Oak!" Elm says.

"Professor Oak gave me Pikachu and he was a friend of mine." I say.

"He is really nice, have you met him yourself, Professor Elm?" Lillie asks.

"Of course, I know Professor Oak. I'm his top student. I still remember the paper that I submitted to him at the university. Professor Oak only gives me an A minus because he couldn't recognize my genuineness."

We wince a little after what he said, and Professor Elm also tells us about how he makes Professor Oak his personal enemy and we can only sweatdrop. But then, we hear the door and we turn around. We are surprised to see who we run into.

"Reisa! East!" I say, and the siblings also notice us, "Ash! Lillie!"

We either share a hug or shake hands, and Reisa asks, "What are you doing here?"

"We're here for the Johto League. What about you guys?" Lillie says.

"Our Dad decides to drop us here for the journey in Johto." East says. "I already got my starter, but Reisa wants to get a starter here in Johto."

"I see..." I say with delight. But it turns out that we are not the only ones in the room. There are two other people in the room and they are confused about us.

"Uh, East, Reisa, do you know these two?" The girl asks, and Reisa says, "Oh, Ash, Lillie, this is Ethan and Kris, we met in front of the town and we decided to tag along." She turns to the two new trainers. "And these two are Ash and Lillie. They are our childhood friends."

"I remember you, you were the one that defeated the Kanto League and the Elite Four but refuses to battle the Champion." Ethan says.

"Oh, that is me alright." Ash says as he rubs his head. "So Kris and Ethan, what are your dreams if I may ask?"

"I want to partake in the leagues of course." Ethan says with determination.

"And I want to fill up the Pokedex. Kris says.

"Those sure are some great dreams you have there." I say with a smile.

Professor Elm says, "Hi, Reisa, Ethan, Kris! I've been waiting for you! Do you know anything about my research?"

The three of them are confused as Professor Elm continues, "As you know, Pokémon are carried in Poké Balls these days. But before the Poké Ball was invented, people used to walk with Pokémon. Just like your friend here does! Poké Balls are great because you can carry many Pokémon. But walking with Pokémon must have some advantages. It could have something to do with how Pokémon grow or evolve... So I'm going to give you a Pokémon! Can you walk beside this Pokémon, outside of its Poké Ball, to see if this brings any special feelings or bonds between Pokémon and people? The device over there has some Pokémon you could choose from..."

Just then, Professor Elm's phone is ringing, and he is answering the phone. Once he's done, he says, "Hey, listen. I have this acquaintance that people call Mr. Pokémon. He keeps finding weird things and raving about his discoveries. Anyway, I just got an email from him saying that this time it's real. It's probably another Pokémon Egg, but we're still so busy with our Pokémon research... Wait! I know! You can go to our place, right? Can we count on you? You can choose one of the Pokémon over there.

The three of them are going to pick from Chikorita, Cyndaquill, and Totodile. She says, "I want to become a Water Trainer, so I'll pick Totodile."

"Then I will choose Chikorita, why don't you take Cyndaquil, brother?"

"Sure." Ethan says as he gets the Pokemon, he also names it Exbo. As for Kris, she names her Chikorita Megaree.

"How do you like walking with your Pokémon? It's not bad, is it? You can take it all the way to Mr. Pokémon's house. If your Pokémon gets hurt...You should heal it with this machine. It's so easy to use. Just check the PC on my desk! Mr. Pokémon goes everywhere and finds rarities. His house is past Cherrygrove City. Go north a little past Cherrygrove. I'm counting on you!"

Then before we leave, I suggest that we travel together, and Kris gasps, "You mean it?"

East says, "They are nice people, so Kris, Ethan we should go travel together."

Ethan says, "Sure, that will be fun."

Now with four new travel companions, we decide to head to Mr. Pokemon's House at Professor Elm's request. Although we suggest Ethan and Kris talk to their mom and show her the Pokemon. Then they are given the Rotom Phones so that they can make phone calls.

Then on the way, we meet a person named Caisy, who likes the Electabuzz Team in Baseball and also owns a Chikorita. I use Pikachu to battle her Chikorita and win. We become good friends and parted ways after that.

Although just when we are talking about our past travels, Ethan notices that my bag is glowing. "Ash! Your bag!"

I'm surprised and I quickly open the bag, it turns out that the egg that I got in Sevii Islands is about to hatch. Reisa says, "You have an egg in your bag?"

"I got this egg at Sevii Islands. It's a Togepi egg!" I say.

"A Togepi?" Ethan asks.

And when the Togepi appears, it attaches to Lillie like a baby. Kris says, "It's so cute!"

Togepi: The Spike Ball Pokemon. Fairy Type. A proverb claims that happiness will come to anyone who can make a sleeping Togepi stand up.

"It sure is the happiness Pokemon." East says.

But just when we are trying to set up a camp, we find that Togepi has gone missing. Lillie says, "Togepi has gone missing!"

I turn around with shock and then a Sentret is in front of us. "A Sentret?"

"It seems worried..." Reisa says.

At the same time, we hear a commotion, and the Sentret is the one wanting us to follow him. When we rush towards the commotion, we find a giant Arbok machine. "What the... what's that?" Ethan asks in shock.

"It looks like another contraption by-" Before I can finish, we see the trio beside us. "Team Rocket!"

"It's the twerp, but with new people!" Jessie gasps.

"Team Rocket?" Ethan asks.

"They were bad guys who tried to steal Pokemon. But these three are idiots compared to others." I say.

"Who are you calling idiots?" Jessie roars.

"You three of course. Ash already defeated your boss and only you three are stupid enough to keep bothering us!" Lillie says.

"So you three are in Johto now, still trying to steal my Pokemon?" I growl in anger.

"Now is not the time for that, our machine is stolen by a Sentret and a Togepi!"

"Togepi!" We rush towards the machine, and I decide to go with Onix. Reisa says, "Is that a Crystal Onix?"

"Yeah, come on, guys!" The six of us jump onto Onix and we chase after the tank. We arrive at a clearing that the Arbotank will be passing by and devise a plan to stop the Arbotank. To ensure the plan works, we have Seadra and Totodile use Water Gun to fill a hole to stop the machine. The plan partially succeeds, allowing Pikachu to board the stuck Arbotank before it returns to a standing position and is freed.

While dressed as magicians, Team Rocket uses a magic trick to trap the Arbotank in another hole. Meowth jumps inside, only to be greeted with Pikachu's Thunder Shock. The shock causes a technical failure, which activates a spring on the bottom of the Arbotank, and the mecha bounces out of the hole.

We give chase at the Arbotank again, and I say, "Sentret! Warn the other Pokemon!"

Sentret tries to call out for danger, allowing the other Pokémon to hide and reach safety. The tank starts going faster and is about to crash into the side of another cliff, but Togepi uses Metronome to drill a hole through the mountain.

"It's drilling its way through the mountain! If it continues, it is going to destroy a town!" East says.

"If that's the case, we need Charizard's help!" I say while sending Charizard. We also follow Charizard using Onix, and just as Charizard is almost able to bring the tank to a halt. Pikachu, Onix, and the group's Sentret help Charizard, eventually causing a complete mechanical failure. Charizard then uses Flamethrower to melt one of the mecha's windows, allowing Pikachu, Togepi, and their Sentret to flee. However, with Meowth still inside, Jessie and James try to rescue the Arbotank at the last second. However, the mecha explodes, sending them blasting off again.

"I'm glad that's over." I sigh.

"And you're not driving again until you're older, Togepi." Lillie scolds the Togepi. Officer Jenny then arrives, and she's actually thankful for creating a tunnel for them. Then the Sentret decides to join our team.

Sentret: The Scout Pokemon. Normal Type. A very cautious Pokémon, it raises itself up using its tail to get a better view of its surroundings.

When nighttime is approaching and we get back to the camp, we are about to sleep until I spot a shiny Hoothoot on a tree.

"Guys! It's a Shiny Hoothoot!" I say.

"A Shiny Pokemon?" The others are excited, and East says, "Since I want to be a Flying Trainer, I'll try to capture that one."

He throws a Pokeball and sends out Mantine, but I say, "Sorry, East. I'm going to be the one getting Hoothoot!"

As we are chasing after the Hoothoot, Ethan asks, "What's so special about the shiny Pokemon?"

Kris says, "They are pretty rare and hard to find."

Then in the end, after a race, I'm the one who captured the Hoothoot, while East can only admit defeat before congratulating me.

Hoothoot: The Owl Pokemon. Normal and Flying Type. It has a perfect sense of time. Whatever happens, it keeps rhythm by precisely tilting its head in time.

Here is the first chapter, and we're finally into the Johto Arc. Lillie, Reisa, East, Ethan, and Kris are Ash's new travel companions. And I hope you like this chapter.
