Fugitives

Somewhere just outside the city limits of Peach Creek, just after sunset, at the Park n' Flush Trailer Park; May, Lee, and Marie Kanker were sneaking out of the nearby stretch of woods, wearing the orange coveralls that they wore during their time at the Lemon Brook Juvenile Detention Center. The reason they were there was that over two months ago, they attacked several of the Cul-De-Sac kids, due to the suspicion that they had something to do with the disappearance of their 'boyfriends', Ed, Edd, n' Eddy; along with the crimes of breaking and entering, destruction of private property, and theft of a satellite dish. Two months later; The Kankers, along with the Cul-De-Sac kids soon learned that the Eds were in a foreign land called Sinnoh, being trainers to mysterious creatures known as Pokemon. The Eds competed in a Pokemon tournament to determine the best Pokemon trainer called the Lily of the Valley Conference, where they went on to be the top three trainers in the tournament.

Three days after that, the Eds came back, much to the Kankers' joy. Unfortunately for the Kankers, the parents of the Cul-De-Sac kids reported the Kankers' assault of their children, along with other stuff they did, to the authorities. The Kankers were found guilty and sentenced to spend five years at the Lemon Brook Juvenile Detention Center. While they were there, they sensed that something was up with the Eds, and that it involved them being with other girls. What the Kankers didn't know that the Eds are currently at another Pokemon region called Alola. After a few days, they finally couldn't stand it anymore and tunneled their way to freedom. They spent a full day, laying low during daytime hours, and travelling through tall grass and woods at night, which was where they emerged to enter the trailer park in which they lived.

"Home sweet home, girls." said Lee.

"Finally, I couldn't take it in juvie anymore." said Marie.

"Let's just get out of these stupid outfits and get into some real clothes." said May. They go to their trailer and lift up the welcome mat in front of their door to reveal a hidden key. They then use it to unlock their door and enter. They go to their room and get changed into their usual attire.

"That's better." said Marie as she puts on her shirt.

"Yeah." said Lee as she puts on a shoe.

"So, what do we do now?" asked May. "We're fugitives!" Lee quickly covers her mouth.

"Quiet, May." said Lee. "No one knows we're here."

"For now, Lee." said Marie. "But this is most likely the first place the cops will look for us."

"So what?" replied Lee. "We just need to make sure our boyfriends are not fooling around with some other hussies behind our backs."

"Yeah!" said Marie.

"Let's go to our boyfriends' homes and see what they're up to." said Lee.

"Can we have something to eat first?" asked May. "All that running really built me up an appetite."

"Fine. Besides, after a month of the slop they served at juvie, it'll be nice to have some real food." said Lee.

"Let's be quick about it, too." said Marie as she makes her way towards their kitchen with May and Lee following after her. They made sandwiches and quickly ate them and had some sodas to drink. After they ate, they went to their room where May put on a gray hoodie, Marie put on a black hoodie, and Lee put on a red hoodie to conceal their identities in case the police were in the area. They went downstairs and they poked their heads out of their front door to see if any cops were nearby. When they saw there were wasn't, they exited their trailer, locked the door, and put the key back under the welcome mat. They then ran off until they reached Ed's house since it was closeby. May looked through Ed's bedroom window and saw he wasn't there.

"My Ed's not in there!" exclaimed May.

"Doesn't look like anyone's home." said Marie, who was looking through the living room window.

"Let's check Eddy's house!" said Lee. They cut across the backyard, and the backyard of the house next door, until they reached Eddy's house. Lee looked through Eddy's bedroom window. "My man's not home either!"

"Let's see if my Double-D's at his house." said Marie.

Meanwhile at Edd's house, Edd's parents were in their living room, on their computer on a video chat, talking to a man with brown hair, a beard, wearing a lab coat over a navy-blue t-shirt, along with tan cargo shorts.

"We're sorry, Professor Birch, but our son and his friends are already at the Alola Region to compete in the league there." said Edd's father.

"Oh, that's too bad." said the man now identified as Professor Birch. "I was so certain that your son and his friends would love the opportunity to compete in our league here in the Hoenn Region that I already sent a private plane to pick them up."

"We're sorry your invitation came too late, Professor Birch." said Edd's father.

"I wish there was something we can do." said Edd's mother. "All the other kids in our neighborhood are on Pokemon journeys as well, and we don't know anyone else who would love to go to Hoenn." Just then, they hear a loud crash from behind them.

"What was that?" asked Professor Birch. Edd's parents look behind them to see their front door broken down, with Lee and Marie, holding May who was rubbing her head in a dazed state, like a battering ram.

"You!" said Edd's father. "You're supposed to be locked up at the Lemon Brook Juvenile Detention Center!" Marie and Lee drop May to the floor and tackle Edd's parents, unaware that Professor Birch was watching them through video chat.

"Okay, bozo! Where is my boyfriend?!" asked Marie.

"And ours!" said May as she stood up off the floor.

"We already looked through Ed and my man's houses and they weren't there!" said Lee.

"So, spill it, Pops!" said Marie as she twisted Edd's father's arm, making him twinge in pain.

"Our son and his friends are on another Pokemon journey!" said Edd's father.

"They're back in Sinnoh?!" asked Lee.

"No." said Edd's mother. "They're in another Pokemon region."

"Which one?!" asked Marie. Edd's father knew that if he told the Kankers where the Eds were, they'll go there and ruin their journey. Just then, Edd's father remembered his talk with Professor Birch and realized he never ended the call. He sneaks a look at his computer screen and sees that Professor Birch was still on and was watching everything that was happening. That's when he got an idea.

"They're somewhere called the Hoenn Region." said Edd's father. Edd's mother immediately realized what his husband was up to and decides to play along.

"Yes. In fact, we heard about a plane from Hoenn that's heading for the Peach Creek airport. We're certain that it'll be heading back there soon." said Edd's mother.

"Is that so?" asked Lee. "Well, we better get going if we're going to catch that plane in time."

"Hang on a second, Lee." said Marie. "I'm gonna grab a souvenir from my cutie's room." She lets go of Edd's father's arm and quickly runs upstairs to Edd's room and looks around for something to grab. She takes a look at Edd's desk and sees a notebook with a pokeball symbol drawn on it.

(Flashback) (Over a week ago)

It was the evening of the day the Eds received the invitations from Kahuna Hala and Professor Sycamore. Edd was sitting on his desk, happily writing on the notebook while Ed was standing near him with an excited look on his face and Eddy was lying on Edd's bed, resting his head on his hands, smiling.

"This is so exciting. After Sinnoh, I thought we would never have the wonderful experience we had there ever again." said Edd.

"This is going to be so cool!" said Ed.

"You said it, lumpy." said Eddy.

"And now Jonny, Kevin, and Rolf will also have that experience in the Kalos region." said Edd as he continued writing on the notebook. "It will be our responsibility to make sure those three are up to speed on Pokemon and everything related to them." He then sets down his pencil, closes the notebook, and holds it up. "I have written everything there is to know about Pokemon. The types, type advantages and disadvantages, abilities, status conditions, etc."

"When we're through with those three, they'll almost be as good as us." said Eddy. Edd sets the notebook on his desk and looks at his clock.

"It's getting late, fellows." said Edd. "We'll need our rest for tomorrow, for we will be teaching Jonny, Kevin, and Rolf everything we know about Pokemon." Eddy sits up and stretches his arms, yawning.

"Yeah." replied Eddy. He climbs off Edd's bed and walks to the bedroom door. "Come on, Ed."

"Okay, Eddy." said Ed. He follows Eddy out the door. A week later, it was the day the Eds left for the Alola region and Jonny, Kevin, and Rolf left for the Kalos region. Edd was packing his backpack. After he puts it on and picks up a duffel bag, he looks at the notebook he wrote all the information on Pokemon on and puts a free hand on it.

"Hey, sockhead, let's go!" Eddy yells from downstairs.

"Coming, Eddy." replied Edd. He walks out the bedroom and closes the door, the notebook still laying on the desk.

(End Flashback)

"I guess this will do." said Marie as she grabs the notebook. (a/n: We're not letting her take Double D's trophy!) "I don't want to waste any more time here than we need to in case the cops are looking for us." She then runs downstairs where May and Lee were waiting near the front doorway.

"It's about time, Marie!" said May.

"Let's get back home and get packed, then get to the airport before the cops show up looking for us." said Lee. With that, the Kankers start heading towards the airport. Once Edd's parents were certain the Kankers were gone, they got up and looked at Professor Birch on the computer screen.

"Who were those girls?" asked Professor Birch.

"The redhead is Lee Kanker, the blonde girl is May Kanker, and the blue-haired girl is Marie Kanker." said Edd's father. "They're a group of hooligans who are obsessed with our son and his friends." Edd's parents then explained to Professor Birch about how their son, Ed, and Eddy ended up in the Sinnoh Region when some kids in their neighborhood had intention of harming them over a prank and how the Kankers retaliated with physical harm on the kids. "They were supposed to be locked up in a juvenile detention center, but it would appear they have escaped."

"I see." replied Professor Birch.

"So did you hear everything?" asked Edd's mother.

"Yes, I did." said Professor Birch.

"Do you suppose that it would be okay if those girls tried competing in the Hoenn League in place of our son and his friends?" asked Edd's mother.

"Yes. Perhaps an extracurricular activity would do those girls some good." said Professor Birch.

"Yes, maybe even improve their character." said Edd's father. "Before our son ended up in the Sinnoh region, although intelligent, he wasn't exactly physically fit, in fact, his least favorite class in school was Physical Education. But ever since returning home from Sinnoh, he appeared to have gained some physical strength; his friend, Ed wasn't exactly smart, but after Sinnoh, it appears he's gotten a little smarter and thinks his actions through, and Eddy hasn't tried to scam anyone in our neighborhood ever since he came back."

"I guess after finding something he's actually good at, he doesn't scam other kids anymore." said Edd's mother. "Anyway, if a Pokemon journey could improve those boys' characters, maybe it can do the same for those girls."

"And I have the suspicion that even if those girls were caught and brought back to the detention center, they'll just escape again." said Edd's father. "In fact, I don't think any prison will hold them."

"Then maybe a Pokemon journey will do wonders for those girls." said Professor Birch.

"We can only hope." said Edd's father.

"When they get to Hoenn, I'll bring them to my laboratory where I'll give them each a starter Pokemon, along with a Hoenn pokedex to get them started." said Professor Birch.

"Thank you." said Edd's father.

"And I recognize the notebook that one of the girls took." said Edd's mother. "It contains information relating to Pokemon, so they'll have some knowledge that may help them. Our son and his friends were using it to teach three other boys in our neighborhood on Pokemon training when they took our son and their friends place to compete in the Kalos League."

"Very well." said Professor Birch. "I will contact the pilot and let him know of the change in plans."

"Thank you." said Edd's father. He then ends the call and turns to look at his wife.

"Do you think we made the right decision?" asked Edd's mother.

"We can only hope." said Edd's father. "And it's better than telling those delinquents where our son and his friends really are."

"Point well made." said Edd's mother. Half an hour later at the Peach Creek airport, the Kankers were hiding by a small building, wearing backpacks, near one of the runways. They see a single-engine plane with a pokeball symbol on it, landing.

"Do you think that's the plane that Double-D's parents were talking about?" asked Marie.

"That symbol on it looks like one of those pokeball things our boyfriends had during that Pokemon tournament a while back, so it could be." said Lee. They see the door open, and the pilot climbing out. When the pilot had his back turned, the Kankers quickly ran to the open door and jump inside. Little did they know was that the pilot turned his back, just so the Kankers would believe they can sneak onboard. A minute later, the pilot pulls out a device and makes a call.

"The girls are on the plane, Professor Birch." said the pilot.

"Excellent." said Professor Birch. "Wait half an hour so as not to arouse suspicion from them, then return to Unova."

"Will do. I'm going to get some coffee." said the pilot. Half an hour later, the pilot climbs back into the plane and enters the cockpit. The plane soon starts to take off. Meanwhile in the passengers' seats, believing the pilot doesn't know they're there, the Kanker sisters were buckled into their seats.

"I can't believe we're in a real airplane." said May.

"This is the only way to travel." said Marie.

"This isn't a vacation, you two." said Lee. "We're looking for our boyfriends."

"Yeah, whatever." said Marie. "Doesn't mean we still can't enjoy ourselves in the meantime."

"Good point." said Lee.

"Do you think we'll see some Pokemon, Lee?" asked May.

"Well, it is a Pokemon region we're going to; so we might." said Lee.

"I can't wait!" shouts May, making Lee punch her face in.

"Quiet." Lee whispers. "We don't want the pilot to hear us and kick us out."

"Sorry." said May. The plane was soon on its' way to it's destination: The Hoenn Region.
