Hello again. Its been a while I know. The current reality with the show on strike is not good for my writing motivation lol. I'm still stuck in Langson-land though. So here is another chapter for your reading plesure.
Characters are owned by wolf ent., Mistakes are mine. I hope you enjoy this chapter of Before and After. This time we are Before the case. And if you happen to enjoy it please leave a comment. I love getting input. #letlangsonshine
Olivia let herself in her quiet dark apartment as quietly as possible. It was a little before 5.30 in the morning and she knew both Noah and Lucy would be sound asleep. She hung up her coat and slipped out of her pumps as soon as she was inside to not wake anybody up. She had texted Lucy and asked her to stay the night with Noah which she often did when Olivia worked nights but Olivia couldn't remember the last time she had asked her to stay so she could spend the night in somebody else's bed. She knew Lucy knew why she wasn't coming home and part of her felt like a shitty mom for not coming home to her child and she also feared that Lucy might have a question or two.
The last time she spent the night at Trevor's Noah was at a sleepover with his friend and nobody was the wiser as to where and with whom she had spent time. But single parents dated too, right? At least that was what she had been told and it wasn't unnatural for her to do that and Lucy was familiar with spending the night in her apartment so there wasn't even a problem. They were all adults. The only problem was the fact that Olivia had to admit to other people that she might be physically and emotionally attracted to someone. And she really would prefer to do that after she had showered.
She moved through the apartment towards her room. She checked on Noah on the way who was sleeping soundly in his bed holding on to that stupid little fox teddy he at age 10 had developed a deep affection for. He had slept with that elephant Ed had given him for years until one day he just left it on a shelf and instead put all his attachment on the fox teddy that Olivia didn't even remember buying. It was probably one that one of Amanda's girls had forgotten at some point but now it was Noah's and he wouldn't go to sleep without it. Olivia had given up on trying to figure out the significance of that switch and instead accepted that that was now the state of things in her home. She figured it wouldn't last many years anyway. Teenage boys didn't really sleep with stuffed animals as far as she knew.
She smiled at her son as he was laying there sleeping like a baby except he wasn't one anymore. She could see it in his physics. His chest had gotten broader in recent months and she could see his body changing from a boy's into a young teenager's. It was especially evident when he was lying still like this because his movements were despite the dancing still very much like a boy's. It scared her sometimes that despite all her knowledge she wasn't sure she could keep him safe or out of harm. As a mother of a young boy, she felt at ease. She knew what to allow and where to draw the lines and she knew what red flags to be aware of but being a mom of a teenager scared her a little. Probably because she knew the dangers and she felt her control over his world slipping.
Olivia stepped into his room and tugged his cover over him again and kissed his curly hair. He was so beautiful and she marveled at the fact that he was hers. She tiptoed out of the room and walked over to her own. She unzipped the dress, took it off, and put it on a hanger for later dry cleaning. She walked to the bathroom in her underwear and caught her reflection in the mirror. Like always her attention was drawn to the faded scars on her body. She brushed her fingers along the one on her hip bone starting just above her pantie line and moving upwards. She remembered how Trevor had paid so careful attention to them tonight. She almost cried at the thought of it. It was too much for her to handle even in the privacy of her own bathroom. Her fingers moved up to the thin scar from a burning hot hanger just below her bra. Her fingers traced the line that was now almost invisible in places. Olivia looked in the mirror and her attention was drawn to what looked like the beginning of a bruise or a rash just above her collarbone. What the hell! Was that… a hickey? Trevor, you fucking ass. Olivia couldn't help smiling to herself. Who the hell would make a hickey after the age of 22? She picked up her phone and texted him.
[You left a mark on me?! I really didn't expect that kind of cave-man like behavior from you *whiny emoji*]
[ I'm sorry was I not supposed to? *whiny emoji* Anyway I don't believe you. Show me!]
Olivia smiled at his boldness. She almost couldn't believe how cheeky he was.
[I'm not sending you half-naked photos. I'm just not! I'm the captain of Manhattan's special victims unit. It would look really bad]
[I'm thinking it would look really good but if you are comfortable with it you could Iet me have a look. Can I Facetime you to see? I kinda have to talk to you about our date this week anyway]
[You can always try and see if I pick up…]
Olivia felt a little wary about him seeing her in her underwear just like that but on the other hand, she wouldn't mind seeing him in bed. She looked at herself in the mirror. She looked good. Her hair was a little messy like she had been out dancing. Her cheek has a rosy glow probably from the change from the cold outside to the heat of her apartment. The eye makeup from yesterday evening was still surprisingly on point. Just smushed enough to give her a little bit of a sultry look. Just as she was pulling a hand through her hair her phone buzzed. She picked up on the second ring and Trevor's gorgeous face appeared on her screen.
"Hi you" Olivia smiled at the screen. He looked just as gorgeous as when she walked out of his bedroom an hour ago. She could see the shadow of his stubbles coming out on his jaw but she didn't mind. Truth be told it was a little sexy. "Hi gorgeous you still look just as wonderful as you did an hour ago." She couldn't help giggling like a schoolgirl at his compliment. Even through the screen, he looked at her in a way that made her insides go to mush. He smiled back at her.
She looked absolutely stunning, he thought. With the slightly messy hair and the makeup that somehow looked even more sultry than he remembered. Her tiny lip bite almost did him in again and he had to consciously tell him in his mind not to blatantly stare at her chest and her breast filling out the lace cups to the brim. "So what did you need to talk to me about with our date? Are you getting cold feet, Trevor?" He gave her a little nervous laugh and all of a sudden fear that he could have gotten second thoughts washed over her. "No no I don't have cold feet about us but you might get it when you hear this. My girls are coming tonight. Leyla had a thing so my week is starting today. So unless you wanna make this a family thing we might have to reschedule"
Olivia felt a little disappointed but she didn't really feel like it was time to introduce the kids in the relationship just yet. "We better postpone til next week then or convert it into lunch if you have time during the week". Trevor nodded on the screen. "Lunch sounds great. I would love to take you to lunch and next week I'm definitely taking you on a date" Olivia couldn't help giving him the brightest smile. "Is this what it's gonna be like? Dating as a single parent I mean because I don't actually remember" she smiled despite herself. Trevor shrugged. "Kind off yeah. There is a lot of scheduling and logistics" Olivia couldn't help herself. The question tumbled out of her mouth. "Have you dated a lot since your divorce? Like have you had girlfriends?"
Trevor was a little surprised by the question and wondered for a second what the most non-offensive answer might be. He decided to go with the truth since he felt that Olivia would appreciate honesty despite it being unflattering. "I'm gonna be honest Olivia I have dated some since my divorce and I have had one serious relationship. It ended a while ago. She was a little younger than me and we wanted different things". Olivia felt her stomach drop. The thought of Trevor dating anybody else was setting off little fires of jealousy in her stomach and she knew she had no right or claim to that feeling. It was completely unreasonable for her to expect that he wouldn't have in the 5 years he had been divorced yet the feeling was there and she couldn't do anything about it. It reminded her of a different time where she didn't feel she had the right or claim to any of her own feelings either.
She took a deep breath. "Okay…that's good to know I guess but how much younger are we talking Trevor? Like collage-young or…" Olivia almost felt sick saying the words. She didn't want Trevor to turn out to be a disappointment with typical male behavior of a mid-life crisis that sometimes made her question if she even wanted to be with men. 'NO! Olivia, I'm not a creep. She was a grown woman. She was 35.' Olivia felt a tiny little relief curing the worst of the nausea she suddenly had felt.
A slightly uncomfortable silence fell between them. Trevor broke it before it became unbearable. "But if adult single-parent dating consists of FaceTime calls and staring at you in lingerie I'm good with that" Olivia chuckled. His stupid joke did make her feel better and she was reminded that they did just spend the night together and that they both seemed to enjoy that. "Okay so let's postpone dinner and do lunch later this week. I will text you when I know what my week looks like," Olivia said. "Yes please text me. I like flirty texting with you" He winked at her through the screen. "Oh, that's what we are doing?" "Yeah among other things" Olivia couldn't help laughing at his cheekiness. "Trevor Langan I beg your pardon. Here I was thinking you were raised right but you are making a lady blush." "Well that wasn't all you were doing last night."' "Trevor! Okay, now I think we have to stop. I actually do have a kid in the house who might wake up soon." She gave him a look that he found incredibly cute despite it being meant for him to shut up. "Okay, Benson. Have a nice day. Go make the world better. Maybe you should cover that rash or whatever it is on your collarbone" Olivia was a little surprised by how fast he was with his words and how easy the banter came between them. "Okay, there wisecrack I'm hanging up. Talk to you later. Bye," She pushed the end call icon on her phone and smiled to herself. She felt light and happy. She had fun and it was so easy with Trevor. It felt natural. It just happened without either of them trying. It was a very pleasant feeling.
Olivia finished up in the bathroom and got dressed for the day. She heard Noah and Lucy in the kitchen and figured she should join them and let Lucy go home. As soon as she entered the kitchen Noah was there. "Hey Mom, can we eat these donuts for breakfast?" And with that, Olivia remembered the box of donuts sitting on the kitchen counter. "Actually I brought them for the squad. They did well on a case yesterday but you can grab one if you eat some fruit as well." Noah's face lit up like a Christmas tree. Donuts for breakfast wasn't something that happened often in the Benson home. Lucy gave Olivia a weird knowing look but didn't say anything. She only gave Olivia a small smile and packed up her things and wished Olivia and Noah a good day.
Olivia spent the morning with Noah who rejoiced in having his mother's undivided attention and after she dropped him off at school and talked a little with his teachers about his art project she drove to work. One of the advantages of her advancement in the system was having a dedicated parking spot that she used more than she cared to admit. She parked her car in her spot and walked upstairs with the box of donuts in hand.
[Good morning squad! I brought donuts]
She put the pink box on the desk in front of her. She knew Fin would care way more about the donuts than about whatever she had been doing the night before or at least would refrain from commenting on it when picking out what donut to eat first. And she was right. Fin went directly for the box like she brought him a Christmas present but she wasn't expecting her newest detective to jump right in and ask the obvious but Valasco didn't hold back.
['So how was the gala?']
She decided to play it low key
['As galas go it was good']
She turned instinctively towards the coffee maker fearing that her entire night would be written on her face if she continued her sentences facing the members of her squad
['Langan was great'] She caught her reflection in the glass window and felt a little amused by her own admission. Langan was great in every way and she felt a little shiver creeping up her spine thinking about how his hands had slid over her skin awakening every nerve end. How his tongue had tasted her in all places and how he'd fuck her until stars exploded behind her eyes. She could still feel the soreness between her thighs. Honestly, she couldn't remember the last time she had had sex like that. Probably not since before…she didn't even want to think of his name. Instead, she pushed the nail of her index finger hard into the pad of her thumb. The pain stopped her brain from spiraling. Stopped her train of thoughts that could send her into panic attacks. The sound of Rollins's voice brought her back to the present.
['So you had fun'] It sounded like something between a question and a statement and Olivia smiled both at her detective's subtle cheekiness and the way her brain returned to happier memories.
She poured her coffee and the paper cup while the smile spread to her whole face and she confirmed Amanda's statement/question ['I did']
Before she was forced into revealing exactly what that meant, Mitch and Ellen Kaplan from last night's gala showed up in the squad room. Within 15 minutes Ellen Kaplan went from withdrawing a reluctant complaint to disclosing her rape by Bob Flynn. Olivia knew that that man was somewhere between a creep and a predator from the moment she laid eyes on him. So it wasn't surprising to her that he crossed the line with Ellen. Amanda came into her office after Ellen left.
"So what did she say? What's her story' Amanda asked as she popped herself down into a chair in front of Olivia's desk. "She disclosed a rape … by Bob Flynn yesterday at the gala. But she doesn't want to pursue" Olivia felt her own frustration with the situation arise. "I saw her yesterday before we left and I knew something wasn't right. I knew she wasn't alright" Olivia looked at Rollins to get her reaction only to find her friend and employee looking at her in the most curious way tilting her head to one side. "We?" Olivia gave her a scolding look. "Trevor and I. He walked me home. He is a gentleman." Olivia said telling herself that the little alternation of facts she made was acceptable even if Rollins was her friend. She didn't want the squad room buzzing with tales of her personal life. And he did walk her to a home. It was just his and not hers but Amanda didn't need to know that. Amanda almost couldn't hold back her laughter. "I'm sure he is! By the way, you look good today in that dress. Is that new?" Olivia felt her embarrassment at Amanda's uncanny ability to see through her and she gave her detective her best 'Stop talking'-look. "Maybe we should get the others updated on the case" It wasn't really a question and Amanda knew it and she also knew that she was close to the limit of what Olivia allowed and wanted to share at the moment.
After 12 years of working with Olivia Rollins knew when she could press and get Olivia to share. She also knew when to shut the hell up and keep her opinions to herself but part of her kind of enjoyed pressing her boss a little out of her comfort zone. It was a rhythm they had perfected over the years and they both knew it. "Lead the way boss" Amanda smirked. Olivia gave her a look and strutted out of her office and into the conference room where the others were waiting.
When the briefing was done and they all had agreed on how to proceed and everybody went on to their prospective tasks Olivia went over to Velasco who had been tasked with calling the other guests who attended the gala to check up on the version of events. "Hey, Velasco you can cross Trevor Langan on your list. I'm gonna take that call. I know him and I don't want to blindside him with this" Velasco gave her the small weird smile that she still hasn't figured out what meant, but he did seem to understand her. "Okay great less work for me" He grabbed a pen and crossed out Trevor's name on the list. "Do you need his number? I have it right here" Olivia shook her head. "No thanks I've got it" As she walked back to her office she was certain she felt Rollins' eyes on her back. God dammit that woman was an excellent detective. Olivia wondered how long she could keep dodging questions about her and Trevor's relationship from Rollins but she wasn't about to bring it up.
Olivia closed the door to her office and sat down. She found her phone and pushed the call button next to Trevor's name. She didn't go for a Facetime call this time since it was official business. He answered on the second ring. She was strangely nervous for some reason "Hi Trevor. It's Olivia" The deep warm timbre of his voice ticked her even from the other end of the line. "Hi, Liv. How are you? What's up?" He used the short version of her name and it made her feel warm and fuzzy. Like they had known each other for ages, which technically they had, but he knew her more now and it felt like something settled into place. She pushed the feeling aside before she had time to comprehend what that really meant and figured she had to say something. "I'm just calling because…" She lost her train of thought and had to start over. "Well, this is a more official call I guess. Ellen Kaplan came in this morning and made a complaint and then withdrew it again… well officially she did, but we have decided to investigate. The complaint was about a rape…by Bob Flynn" She could almost hear Trevor do a double take. "Oh okay. I'm so sorry that happened to her. I'm… I don't know what to say…Do you need something from me?" "I called because we need your statement. To ask if you saw anything?" Olivia realized as she said it that considering how the evening went this conversation was a little silly. Trevor chuckled a little too. "You remember that I was talking to you the entire time we were there right and to tell you the truth you are kinda hard to take my eyes off." Olivia couldn't help but chuckle at his compliment. "Well you aren't too hard on the eyes yourself Mr. Langan" she sassed back. There was some commotion in the background on the phone and Olivia wondered what was going on. Before she could ask Trevor explained. "Olivia I'm like 1 minute from stepping into a meeting and they are calling for me to join them. Can we pick this up again later? I can call you when I'm done" Olivia was suddenly overcome with a need to see the man on the other end of the line. "Or I could come down to your office if that's easier" Trevor sounded pleased as he answered "Yeah that would be great. Can you come after lunch? I should be done by then." Olivia smiled relieved by the prospect of seeing him soon. "That works for me. I'll see you then" They said their goodbyes and Olivia ended the call.
When lunchtime rolled around Olivia packed up her bag and walked out from her office. Fin was the only one in the squad room at this time since he had managed to be in on the lunch rotation without actually having to ever pick up lunch. He just paid and ate what the others picked up. "I'm going to get some lunch and then I'm going downtown to take a statement. You are in charge until I get back" Olivia informed her sergeant. Fin barely looked up from his desk. "Okay, Captain" Olivia couldn't help smiling to herself. Fin always had a very you do you-vibe about him but once he got the scent of something he wasn't one to back away from a little gossip either and he certainly had his opinions about others' private lives. But deep down she knew in the end he would always come out on her side. She wondered how long before Fin started putting two and two together or before Rollins outright told him that something was up.
Olivia made her way downtown after a quick lunch. She texted Trevor that she was on her way and her phone buzzed with a thumbs up and a smiley heart emoji. He really did use a lot of emojis Olivia thought. She walked into the lobby of the building and asked for The foundation for international and domestic adoption that Trevor was heading since he switched from defense work some years ago. Olivia had never really figured out what the foundation did but she knew Trevor routinely met with influential people with both power and money in the city and the building looked nice. Olivia was told that the foundation was housed on the 15th floor of the building and that the elevators would take right up to the offices. During the ride to the 15th floor, Olivia took a deep breath and studied herself in the elevator mirror. Suddenly she felt nervous energy spreading throughout her body along with a little giddiness. She shook her head. She was a grown woman who interrogated criminals for a living. Not a teenager with a crush. The elevator dinged and she stepped out into the surprisingly empty offices. The place was light and welcoming. Well-lit and with a homie yet professional atmosphere but with surprisingly few people occupying the desks. Olivia looked around trying to figure out what was going on. She moved down a corridor and at one of the larger offices she saw his nameplate on the door. Trevor J. Langan Managing Director. She wondered what the J stood for and made a reminder to ask him at some point. She hadn't ever seen him use anything other than Trevor Langan.
Olivia knocked at the door tentatively seeing Trevor sitting at his desk. His face lit up with a megawatt smile when he saw her. "Olivia hi. I'm just finishing my notes here" He stood up and walked around the desk to meet her. He kissed her on the cheek close to the corner of her mouth. Closer than you would with any casual acquaintance. At least that's what Olivia told herself and she really hoped he wasn't kissing anybody else that way.
"Hi," She smiled up at his gorgeous face and let her eyes lock with his pale green/greyish eyes that seemed to change color depending on his mood and the light. The color of his eyes most of all reminded her of the color palette of a hurricane and it surprised her at first. This gentle calm man held the power of a hurricane in his eye and she couldn't seem to break eye contact. It felt almost too intimate and for a fraction of a second she was afraid that he could see into the darkest corners of her soul. He smiled at her and she let out a breath that she didn't realize she was holding. His presence even in broad daylight was a little intoxicating and she remembered that feeling from the night before.
Olivia cleared her throat. "Where is the rest of your staff? This office looks emptier than my squad room" Trevor gave her a little laugh. "Well half of them work from home these days and the other half is probably out for lunch. At least I know my PA is." Olivia couldn't help herself from teasing him a bit. "You have a PA? That's fancy. I guess that's the difference between public service and non-profit." She tilted her head and gave him a little smirk. Trevor wasn't one to back down. He liked her quick wit with the flirty undertones. He smirked back at her. "Well, I guess we are both making the world a better place. I just have a nicer office and better staffing. Maybe you should join me in non-profit and get your own PA." Olivia mock laughed. "Haha. For your information I'm very happy where I am".
Trevor monitored towards the couch closer to the windows overlooking the city. "Please, let's sit. You needed me to make an official statement about the party?" he asked as he waited for her to sit down. "Yeah after Ellen Kaplan's complaint we are checking to see if anybody saw anything at the party before going ahead with the investigation" Trevor nodded in understanding. "First of all, I'm so sorry to hear what happened to Ellen. That's heartbreaking. But I didn't really see anything. Honestly, I was mostly looking at you" Olivia gave him a shy laugh and looked down for a second. His unapologetic praise of her simultaneously made her heart flutter and her brain panic from shyness. It was a combination of emotions that she hadn't encountered before and she was doing her best to manage that without coming off as either too cold or too giggly. "You were the most beautiful person in the room and the most interesting so I was preoccupied most of the evening" He reached for her hand that was resting on the back of the couch they were both sitting on. His fingers found hers. He caressed her fingers with his thumb before she let her fingers intertwine with his. His light touch was sending goosebumps up and down her arm and she became increasingly aware of her own breathing reminding herself to keep doing it. She looked up and met his gaze. "You weren't too hard on the eyes yourself and your speech was great. You really captivated the room"
Olivia couldn't help noticing how Trevor's eyes lingered on her mouth as she spoke and she felt his fingers pushing their intertwined hands closer together so they were now palm to palm.
Silence fell between them and Olivia felt like she could hear her own breathing getting louder. Her eyes searched Trevor's face and she realized his eyes were still entirely focused on her mouth. She wetted her lips and saw Trevor looking down for just a second like her moist lips were too much for his brain to handle. Olivia's lips curled in a small smile before catching his eyes again. "Are you thinking about kissing me right now?" Olivia asked while holding onto his hand at the back of the couch. A boyish shyness mixed with cheekiness washed over his face. Like he had been caught with his hand down the cookie jar. Olivia found it not only disarming but also extremely endearing.
Trevor took a deep breath. "Yes. Yes, I am. I'm sorry. I just … you are just very… you look amazing in that dress and I can't stop thinking about you…that way" He smiled apologetically. Olivia couldn't help herself. She moved a little closer on the couch and tentatively put her hand on his outer knee. "I think you should do it!" She gave him the cheekiest smile, almost challenging him. Trevor bit his lower lip and all Olivia could think about is how much she wanted him to do that to her. "You do?" He smirked. "Yeah you never know when you are gonna get the chance again" He moved closer to her on the couch. So close that their noses were touching and she could smell his subtle cologne. It smelled clean and fresh and masculine. Like summer rain on hot asphalt. And that smell alone was doing things to her insides. His hands found her face and his thumb brushed over the apple of her cheek. "I plan on kissing you a lot if you will let me" Olivia hummed in agreement. "I'm probably gonna be okay with that"
She willed for him to close the last bit of distance between their lips and as he did just that she let her eyes fall closed and relished in the feel of his soft lips against hers.
The kiss was soft and sensitive at first. Feather-light like soft warm rain on your face. She felt his fingertips at the nape of her neck brushing ever so lightly. His tongue prompted her mouth and she opened her lips giving him the access he wanted. He invaded her available senses. His scent filled her nostrils. His hands gripped into her loose hair as the kiss got a little more intense. His hunger for her ignited something in Olivia and she moved as close to his body as possible on the couch. His hands loosened from her hair and slighted down her back. She felt his arm around her and his hand on her lower back securing her as their tongues danced. Olivia suddenly had a strong urge to feel his weight on her. She remembered the feelings from last night and everything in her wanted that again. She leaned back slightly against the side of the couch and he followed her movement using his arm at her back to push her forward so she was almost beneath him. Her back hit the armrest and she felt a hand creep up along her leg and under her dress. Olivia couldn't help to think that the man above her was possibly some kind of couch expert since all of this felt extremely natural despite the somewhat awkward position they were in.
Trevor's hand reached her lower thigh and danced at the inside of her knee. Goosebumps erupted on Olivia's skin and Trevor thought to himself that it might be the best thing he ever felt with his fingertips. Her smooth skin suddenly pebbled and it was all his doing.
She kissed him harder and pushed her hand under his jacket. She could feel his chest under the cotton fibers of his shirt and she wanted the shirt off. She wanted him. She wanted to slide her hands over his naked chest and down to the waistline of his pants. She wanted to undo his belt while he kissed her neck and bit her ear lobe. She wanted his hands all over her and for them to push up her dress skirt over her thighs and ass and work the magic that she knew he could.
Olivia's hands found his tie and she started working on loosening it. As her nimble fingers worked the knot of the tie she became aware of the faint muffled buzz from her bag on the floor. She tried to ignore it but the buzz became louder and more insistent. Olivia tried to kick the bag away and lost a bit of her focus.
Trevor smiled into her kiss. He couldn't help it. As much as he wanted her to continue what she was doing he couldn't not see the comic of the situation. "Do you need to get that?" Trevor asked between kisses. Olivia groaned with annoyance. "Yeah, I probably do. It could be case-related"
Olivia found her phone in her bag and picked it up. "Benson" she answered and Trevor couldn't help noticing how both her tone and her demeanor changed instantly. "Yes, chief…. I'm aware… Yes….Yes, Chief I'm actually out on a case-related call…I'm aware but as you know I'm understaffed….Yes… yes of course sir… I'll be right over…Of course sir"
As she talked on the phone Olivia had gotten up from the couch and started pacing the room. He noticed her eyes rolling with annoyance a few times too. Olivia finished the call and looked over at Trevor who had stood up from the couch too.
"Well, that was my chief. I've been summoned." She took a deep breath. "Apparently he had been to the squad room and couldn't find me so now I have to go down to 1PP and get yelled at for telling Elliot Stabler to mind his own business and stop expecting me to do his bidding"
The mentioning of Stabler made Trevor's hands a little sweaty and his eyebrow raise. He knew the history between him and Olivia was long and somewhat intense and somewhere in his brain he knew Olivia had been hurt by him and he wondered if she ever really recovered and how much of their history would resurface now that Stabler was back in New York.
Olivia sensed his trepidation. "I ran into Elliot yesterday or really he ran into me probably on purpose at 1PP and he was as obnoxious as ever and I was late and wanted to go home and get ready so I told him to fuck off. Apparently, that didn't go unnoticed and my chief can't have his captains "having emotional outbreaks in the middle of 1PP"... yeah he really said that"
Olivia took a deep breath again "So now I have to go down there and get scolded" She pushed one finger hard into the space between her eye and her eyebrow as to quell a oncoming headache. She looked down as she did it. "This game is rigged…"
Her words lingered in the room for a few seconds before she looked up at Trevor. "I'm sorry I have to go down there right away" She gave him a shy smile while she wondered how to leave this situation given that the man minutes before had his hand so far up her dress that he probably could have felt the fabric of her panties if he wanted to while she had her tongue in his mouth. Olivia cleared her throat. "This was …well nice. I didn't really…"
She didn't really know where she was going with that sentence. Trevor smiled at her and came to her rescue. "Yes, it was nice. It's always nice to see you" He stepped a little closer to her and put his hands on her arms on both sides of her body encasing her. "And be close to you…" he said in a tone of voice that made Olivia blink twice and swallow a lump. She could feel her stomach flutter and thoughts of 1PP and the chief and the disappointment she felt over Elliot's words from yesterday disappeared from her brain for a second.
Trevor's smile was her heart swell. "Go! Go clear up this thing and do what you have to do and I'll call you later tonight if that's okay." Olivia stood to her toes and kissed the amazing man in front of her. "It's definitely okay, but you have your daughters. I don't want to take you away from them" Trevor looked at her a little amused. "Olivia they are 10 and 15 and they have phones. Plus they think I'm really annoying at times so they would probably be happy if I spent 30 minutes on the phone" Olivia couldn't help laughing a little at his statement. "I'm sure they don't find you that annoying" Trevor laughed with her "Oh they do but they are right to do so. I'm their dad. It comes with the territory" Olivia picked up her bag and smiled at him. "Okay then. Talk later then?" Trevor reached for her hand and gave it a squish. "Talk later. Go!"
