One sunny weekend, the 13 girls had gone to the park to play. However while they were walking, they passed a cafe and sitting outside were Kathy and her friend, a ballet instructor named Monsieur de Vaillement. Kathy took a sip of tea and asked the teacher "So what has been going on with you my friend?"

The ballet instructor said "Well I heard from the kinder dance academy teacher, that I will be teaching 13 little girls and giving them parts to have them perform in my upcoming ballet show called the Happy swan."

Kathy nodded and said "well who are these lucky girls?"

Monsieur Vaillement said "They are from Miss Clavel's school for girls."

Kathy's eyes winded and she coughed on her tea.

"What's wrong?" the ballet instructor asked.

Kathy said "I'm the aunt to two of those girls, They are twins named Madeline and Riley and they are the most horrible of girls.

"So what should I do?" The ballet instructor asked.

"Well you could give Riley a part in the show. However you shouldn't give Madeline a part. She doesn't deserve to get a part in anything because she's nothing but a reject. Kathy said with a snarl.

Monsieur Vaillement nodded and said "Don't worry my friend, I will treat her like the other rejects I have had in the past.

"Good." Kathy said and the two friends laughed evilly.

Riley and Madeline Ballet

Narrator : In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines, thirteen little girls, In two straight lines. The oldest one was Riley, and the smallest one was Madeline.

The twins loved music and loved to dance as well.

Miss Clavel said "Attention girls,

Madeline, who was spinning around, wobbled and almost fell but Riley caught her.

Madeline said "Whoa thanks Riley."

it is is 20 past 9: 00!" Miss Clavel said

Narrator: They left the house at half pass nine In two straight lines In rain or shine They did not pause along the way when they were going to ballet. They hurry up, and down each street for ballet lessons were a treat.

Pepito saw the girls and said "Regardé!"

Madeline turned her head but didn't notice her friend as she ran along and said "Huh?"

Pepito was confused that Madeline didn't even stop to talk.

Steven said "Pepito, come on We are the supposed to be in math!"?

Narrator: Each girls would take her special place, and try to dance with style and grace.

One day the Lady who was the teacher at the ballet school clapped her hands and said " Students, students I have an announcement to make!"

Narrator: One day the teacher broke tradition, and announced a very special audition.

Lady said "Gaston de Vaillement has invited you all to audition for an upcoming production of 'The happy Swan at L Opera.

The 13 girls gasped with excitement.

Narrator: The girls were to try out right now, for the city's most famous corps de ballet.

Riley said "Gaston de Vaillement , the ballet master of L Opera magnified!"

The girls left the dance school in their two straight lines.

Narrator: Suddenly, the girls felt small as they approached the famous hall.

Riley said "It's just like a dream."?

Miss Clavel smiled at her students but then noticed Madeline looking nervous.

Miss Clavel said "Madeline are you alright?"

Madeline said "Do you think I am ready Miss Clavel?"

Miss Clavel hugged her small student and said "Just do your very best Madeline, and you'll be just fine."

Narrator: Though the gate, the thirteen little girls went through but there friends Steven and Pepito was not admitted. They were stopped by a guard.

Steven said "Come Pepito, I have an plan."

The 13 girls walked inside the huge building taking in all the sights.

Miss Clavel said "Follow me girls."

All the girls said "Ahh Ohhhh!"

Narrator: As the time of audition began to draw near, the girls were suddenly filled with fear.

Danielle said "What if I fall?"

Chloe said "What if I fail?"

Riley said "Come come girls, there 's really nothing to worry about. I believe Monsieur de Vaillement is just a ordinary person"?

(Everyone gasped)

Narrator: Monsieur de Vaillement was tall and imperious and he looked to be extremaly serious

"I am Gaston de Vaillement," he said introducing himself , and this is our Prima ballerina ."

( gasping)

Chloe said "Do you know who that is?"

Danielle said "That is.. her?"

Madeline said "I cannot believe it!"

Narrator: He presented a dancer of worldwide fame. Tatiana Darlova was her name. To be like her was Madeline's aim.

Gaston said firmly "Attention! Tatiana will now demonstrate the steps for your audition for 'The Happy Swan.'"

A lady played the piano, and the ballerina began dancing the steps.

all the girls ohh

Gaston de Vaillement said "There you have it, step forward Mademoiselles"

The 13 girls gulped as now all of them were very nervous.

Miss Clavel whispered "With your heads held high, and courage in your heart, you cannot fail. Courage Ma petites."

Anna said "Courage Jennie"

Jennie said "Courage Lulu"

Lulu said "Courage Ellie"

Ellie said "Courage Yvette"

Yvette said "Courage Nicole"

Nicole said "Courage Danielle"

Danielle said "Courage Chloe"

Chole said "Courage Riley"

Riley said "Courage Madeline"

Narrator: Suddenly Madeline begin to quake, afraid of making any mistake."

Gaston de Valmont said "Very well, begin!"

Madeline Gulps but then took a deep breath as she remembered Miss Clavel words from earlier "Just do your very best Madeline, and you'll be just fine."

Madeline said "Courage"

Narrator: Through out the addition, the girls did fine except perhaps for Madeline.

Madeline wobbled.

Gaston de Vaillement who watched her said to himself, now I know why Kathy said she's a reject. The instructor then said "Enough"

Narrator: Then after a moment of reflection, de Vaillement began to make his selection.

Gaston de Vaillement said "You will dance in 'The Happy Swan' and you_"

Narrator: He picked the dance one by one, and soon his work was almost done.

Miss Clavel said "Please Please pick Madeline!"

Gaston de Vaillement looked at Madeline and snarled as he said "I do think this one will not do, no no entirely too small."

Narrator: He chose each girl along the line, except for one girl Madeline. Madeline gasped and her eyes started to fill with tears and wished that day would just end, when suddenly she was helped out by a friend.

Riley went over to comfort her upset sister when she overheard Tatiana whispering to the instructor.

Gaston de Vaillement said "Her legs are too short, she entirely too small, and she- she's she wobbled!"

Tatiana laughed "I wobbled too the first time I audition for you, Gaston."

Gaston de Vaillement said "So you did Tatiana, very well I will give her another chance. Gaston sighed and he thought to himself, well it seemed like our plan failed. Looking up at Madeline he said. You, one more time s'il te plaît Mademoiselle, first position! plie"

Narrator: Madeline gasped and thought she would not get to dance, suddenly she got her second chance.

Madeline danced the steps once more.

Gaston de Vaillement sighed but said "You, you will dance!"

Chloe said "Bon Madeline!"

Riley said "Way to go sis"

Madeline said "Oh Merci Monsieur, Merci Mille fois"

Miss Clavel said "Thank heavens."

Madeline said "You will not be sorry."

Gaston de Vaillement said "We will see."

Narrator: De Vaillement led the girls down the hall, showing them all the rooms.

Gaston de Vaillement said "On the left, costumes"

All the girls said "Ahh" ooh lala

Madeline peeked in "Ohh gasped

Gaston de Vaillement said "On the right, dressing room."

Riley peeked in "Ohh cool!"

Gaston de Vaillement said "And here is where you will rehearse

Madeline peek "Oh".

After the tour the little girls went home to practice.

Narrator: Once the girls had passed their auditions, they began to dance their repetition

Miss Clavel count "One and two, and three and four"

All the Girls repeated "One and two, and three, and four, one and two, and three, and four."

Miss Clavel laughed.

All the girls said "One, two, three, and four."

Narrator: They practiced all day.

All the girls said "One, two, three, and four."

Narrator: All evening, and night.

(Yawing)

All the girls said "One and two, and three, and four."

Narrator: Until it was time put out the light.

All the girls continued saying "One, and two, and three, and four. One, and two, and three, and four."

Miss Clavel said "Little girls Even Tatiana Darlova herself must sleep."

Narrator: Soon they all fell asleep without making a peep as they were exhausted, Riley and Madeline however danced the ballet in their sleep.

Narrator: In the morning, the girls prepared diligently

After breakfast and classes Miss Clavel let the girls practice

All the girls were outside and said "One, and two, and three, and four." "One, and two, and three, and four."

When Pepito and Steven appeared in the nearest tree.

The two boys looked at each other and giggled.

Madeline said "Stop it Pepito, we are trying to practice."

Pepito said "You call that practice?"

Steven said "I call that hopping about likes frogs,

Pepito said "That is what you look like." Ribbit Ribbit

Riley said "Steven, Pepito stop that, we are swans not frogs."

Narrator: They teased the girls about ballet, until Miss Clavel led them away.

Giving the boys a stern look.

Miss Clavel said "Come on girls, Monsiour de Vaillement will be waiting."

Steven called out "Ribbit." ha ha ha but fell backwards on the ground.

Narrator: At their rehearsal, the girls twirled about while Monsiour de Vaillement checked them out.

Monsiour de Vaillement said "Tres bien Nicole, very nice charming Chloe, you are a happy swan indeed!"

Narrator: He handed out compliments one by one, but for poor Madeline he had none. Monsieur Vaillement only snarled as he walked by Madeline.

Riley had been watching him and she was getting more and more annoyed.

Monsiour de Vaillement said "You have worked hard, I believe you are ready to rehearse with Tatiana Dalova!"

Danielle said "Oh Tatiana!"

Chloe said "The greatest ballerina in the world!"

Monsiour de Vaillement said "Brilliant! As always Tatiana, good work Nicole and Danielle!"

Narrator: Though Madeline practiced, and she persisted, Gaston de Vaillement didn't know she existed.

Madeline sighed sadly and watched her friends receive the compliments.

Miss Clavel said "Madeline, you are making progress."

Madeline said "Oh no Miss Clavel, Monsiour de Vaillement didn't even notice me. If only I were taller."

Miss Clavel said "Remember Madeline, you must have courage."

Madeline said "Oui Miss Clavel, I have courage, but it doesn't make me one inch taller."

Miss Clavel sighed Riley sighed also wishing there was something she could do to help her sister.

Narrator: The next day, the girls returned to the hall, not knowing Steven, and Pepito had followed them all.

Steven said "Did you bring the ball, like I asked you to?"

Pepito said "Ball? hmm... found it Steven!"

Steven said "If dogs can run after balls and sticks, maybe it will work on grown ups to. Catch Monsiour!"

Pepito said "He's gone, let's go inside."

Narrator: Madeline was feeling blue trying to figure out what to do.?

Monsiour de Vaillement said passing out the tutu's, "Voila Nicole! One for you Danielle, your tutu Chloe, there you are Riley, and there you go uh um Mademoiselle." as he just threw Madeline's Tutu at her.

Riley gasped a she saw the beautiful costume just thrown to her sister.

Madeline said with a small smile "Merci Monsiour de Vaillement "

Monsiour de Vaillement said "Attention! We will now prepare for the dress rehearsal."

Lulu said this is so much fun

Riley said ouie

Narrator: But Madeline forgot the blues when she spied a pair of red toe shoes by the practice bar.

Madeline said "Oh if I had shoes like those, I could dance on my toes just like Tatiana!"

Narrator: Very quickly with no time to lose, Madeline decided to borrow the shoes.

Madeline said "And If I danced on my toes, I will be taller today. I am certain Monsieur de Vaillement will notice me."

Monsiour de Vaillement said "Places everyone!"

Narrator: Dress rehearsal was about to begin, when two uninvited guests popped in.

Monsiour de Vaillement said "Music maestros s'il te plaît!"

The music began and the girls began the dance.

Narrator: Across the stage danced Madeline looking great, and feeling fine, and then on stage Tatiana twirls, and among all the girls she twirled for Madeline. It was sheer bliss, and then something went a miss.

Madeline then began to lose her balance and she started to wobble and slide all over the place.

Monsiour de Vaillement said angrily " horrible

Steven and Pepito " Terrible

Miss Clavel said "What a calamity!"

Narrator: While Tatiana spun faster and faster, Madeline caused a complete disaster which horrified the ballet master.

Monsiour de Vaillement said "My precious swans, stop right now!"

Pepito said "Madeline watch out, the scenery!"

Narrator: When it would end was anyone's guess.

Miss Clavel said "Oh no"

The teacher ran to her small student and stopped her just before she crashed into the set.

Narrator: But Miss Clavel saved it from further destruction, and Madeline humbly begged for forgiveness.

Madeline looked down at the floor. As the angry dance instructor yelled at her "You.. You reject!

Madeline looked up said "J Regrette Monsieur., but do not worry I will not dance in the ballet tomorrow or ever again!" Madeline then got up and took the toe shoes off and ran out of the room.

Monsiour de Vaillement started to laugh as he said " Ah that is too bad, I believed that younger lady might give a performance Paris will never forget!"

As the girls (except Riley) and Pepito and steven giggled

Meanwhile Riley said angrily "Monsieur de Vaillement given a performance dancer that is is all that matters. You don't care that my twin or Tatiana Dalova could have been hurt. It seems like even since we get you for our teacher, the dumb happy swan. is all you care about You haven't even noticed Madeline, are you blind or just don't like smelling girls? Hmm? As for you all who we had call friends, I thought you would have known better than to laugh, but you don't, you are just like that teacher Monsieur de Vaillement Well don't expose me to this in this dumb 'Happy Swan', because if Madeline is out then I am out. See you all later after I find Madeline!"

Miss clavel sighed as she watched Riley run out of the room.

Monsieur de Vaillement looked at Steven and Pepito and said "As for you my young two intruders, I can use you both. You two come with me!"

Steven said "Oui Monsieur."

Riley ran up and down the hall but she couldn't find here sister anywhere. Riley said to herself oh "Where could Madeline be? She's not in the dressing room" or in the Ballet room ?

Riley ran down the hall and almost bumped into someone.

Brittany said "Are you lost little one?"

Riley said "Me? No no, I am looking for my sister Madeline, who has red hair, and wear a white tutu like me."

Brittany said "What is your name little one?"

Riley said "Just Riley miss, you look like Tatiana Dalova just in a pink dress"

Brittany said "I am Tatiana's younger sister Brittany Dalova, was this about the 'Happy Swan?'"

Riley said "How did you know?"

Brittany said "Same thing happened to my older sister. She used to wobble, but she got better the more she practiced, and didn't give up. Don't listen to Monsiour de Vaillement , he is old. This is his last year as Master Ballet teacher, soon I will be taking over. Come, let's go find your sister"

Meanwhile Madeline was running looking for a place to hide when she saw Kathy coming down the hall. Kathy saw Madeline as well.

"Uh hi Aunt Kathy." Madeline said. Kathy who had seen the whole mishap from hiding in the way back of the practice room. Kathy angrily snatched Madeline up by her Tutu and was about to hit her.

Madeline however wiggled out of the hold and jumped down while stomping on Kathy's foot.

Kathy yelped in pain "You Brat." Madeline just ran faster and into a room.

Narrator: Madeline had found a place to hide and then she cried and cried and cried. But someone who also was involved in the mishap entered the room and stood by Madeline's side.

Tatiana said "oh Madeline. I know how you must feel."

Madeline Tearfully) All i wanted was to get Monsiour de Vaillement to notice me. And now I will never be a Prima Ballerina like you.

Tatiana said "I remembered another little girl who try to wear toe shoes before she was ready. She knocked down the entire corp de ballet."

Madeline sniffled "Like me?"

Tatiana said "That girl was fired, but she worked hard, and one day she became a prima ballerina!"

Madeline said " Vraiment?

Tatiana said "Really yes, you see machete Madeline, that little girl was me."?

Narrator: Tatiana words give the girl quite a lift, but she never expected a special gift; A pair of gray slippers, not fancy it seem, but shoes that would help a young girl with her dream.

Tatiana said "And if you keep practicing someday, you will earn the right to wear toed shoes."

Madeline was shocked and said "Merci beaucoup Mademoiselle, but I will not dance in the ballet tomorrow night, he will not let me." infect he was so angry with me that he called me a reject.

Tatiana nodded as she heard what the instructor had said. Tatinana told Madeline "Oh, but you will! In fact, I insist upon it" she then gave Madeline a kiss on the top of her head.

Madeline finally smiled and said merci but you seemed mad earlier on stage" was it because of me?

Tatiana said "Oh Madeline, I was not mad at you, but more at Monsieur de Vaillement , but your sister sure told him off after you left Just then Riley and Britney entered the room. Riley ran to her sister and the two of them hugged each other while Tatiana introduced her sister Brittany; The other ballerina was also in 'The Happy Swan' tomorrow night, as well.

Tatiana looked at Madeline and said "I'll be dancing right next to you as well. Taking a deep breath,

Madeline said "Ok I will do it."

"Yes!" Riley said as Tatiana hugged the small girl.

Madeline hugged Tatiana back and then putting on her gray dance slippers she took her sisters hand and said "Come Riley, we have work to do"

The two Ballerina sisters chuckled happily as the twins ran out of the room.

Narrator: Tatiana's gray slippers fit her just right, and gave Madeline courage to dance that night.

Backstage:

Danielle said "Oh look!

Chloe said "Regardé!"

Madeline said "Pepito, what are you doing here?"

Pepito said "Monsieur de Valmont gave me, and Steven a very important role."

Chloe said "Yes, all you and Steven have to do is walk across the stage."

As the girls laughed.

Madeline said "Make sure you don't hop like a frog."

Steven and Riley said "I never thought we would be on stage at L Opera tonight."

Madeline said "Neither did we."

(Girls talking)

Meanwhile Monsieur Gaston just shook his head as he said "I can't believe you got that reject to come back and dance

Tatiana said angrily "You are a very horrible person Gaston all you have done is bully little Madeline. Gaston she's going to dance. Tatiana walked off and went to the practice room where she called the police who said that they would be right there and they would arrest him after the show.

A few moments later the show began.

Monsiour de Vaillement said "Places everyone!"

Miss Clavel said "With your heads held up high, and courage in your heart, you cannot fail. Courage girls, I know you will do fine."

(Fanfare plays)

Madeline said "Psst Pepito, that is your cue!"

Peptio said "I know, but my legs won't move."

Riley said "Steven that's your cue."

As Madeline pushed both boys onto the stage.

Pepito held up one of the swans, and Steven held the other half, and left the stage.

Riley said "Bravo Steven, and Pepito!"

Chloe said "Here comes our cue."

Narrator: Then like magic, the dancing started, and Madeline suddenly felt light hearted; They all did their steps without hesitation, but Tatiana created a real sensation.

Gaston de Vaillement couldn't say anything as he was still shocked by what Tatiana had told him.

Miss Clavel said "Marvelous!"

When the show was over the audience cheered loudly.

Meanwhile Monsieur Gaston was arrested for the verbal abuse to little Madeline.

(Encore)

Narrator: The applause continued, the girls bowed too, it was Madeline's perfect dream come true.

Nicole said "Oh Madeline don't you wish you were a Prima Ballerina?"

Madeline said "Maybe someday I will be"

Narrator: They took many bows that night.

When the girls walked out of the dance hall, Madeline and Riley said "Wait Miss Clavel. Miss Clavel and the other 11 girls stopped walking. "What is Riley?" "Riley said Maddie and I must go thank Britney and Tatiana. Miss Clavel nodded. The twins ran back to the front of the hall where Tatiana and Britney were.

The two Ballerina sisters smiled as Madeline and Riley said "Oh Merci, Merci, to the both of you. The twins hugged their new friends and waved to them as they got back in line.

That night after the girls brushed their teeth and climbed into bed.

Miss Clavel said "Good night my little dancers."

Narrator: Miss Clavel said good night at the door, and that all there is there isn't anymore.
