"Mike. Mike!" Alex called as he ran into the office holding a newspaper.
"Alex? What is it?"
"Is everything ok?" May-Li asked from across the office.
"You need to see this," Alex said, and he handed the newspaper to Mike. Mike became very worried and he stood up.
"Mike? What is it?" May-Li asked.
"It's Ryan. He's fallen out of a window."
"What?!"
"He's been taken to St Maud's hospital. I'll take the car."
"Go," May-Li said and Mike rushed out as she picked up the newspaper. "Oh. He fell from it last night. Severe injuries..."
"It's the same one that Chloe fell out of."
"So it is."
"Hold on," Alex said and he took the newspaper from May-Li. "There's someone there."
"Where?"
"In the window," Alex said and May-Li looked closer at the image.
"That's Ryan's mum. I'm calling the police," May-Li said, and she got on the phone.
Ryan's mother was arrested for attempted murder. Ryan made a full recovery and he returned to Ashdene Ridge 3 weeks later. He had to use crutches until his back fully healed, but everyone, for once, was glad that he was home.
