Chapter 12

Kimora POV

I walked back to my home across the courtyard. The early morning breeze blew my hair around my face as it hung loose. I didn't bother tying it back up this morning after I woke to Toshiro kissing my face and neck while running his fingers down my side. I smiled as I remembered how he gently he always handled me, as if I was made of glass and he was worried he would break me.

I stepped up onto the porch to mine and Rangiku's back door almost being caught off guard as it slid open with a force revealing a very annoyed looking Rangiku. I stared at her with my eyes wide trying to figure out what had happened to cause this.

"Where the hell have you been? Do you know how worried I was that I got home to find you no where in this house?! I was about to go and get the captain for us to form a search party!" She yelled at me, my shock at her outburst disappeared as I smiled warmly.

"Rangiku, you sound like a mother." I said as I slid by her walking into our living room. She snapped her head to follow my movements growling at me. "I'm sorry I worried you. I went to clear my head and fell asleep. I'm alright a promise." I felt bad not giving her the whole truth, but I wanted to hold on to what was happening with Toshiro and I for a bit longer.

I heard her sigh and relaxed behind me before I turned back to her. She was such a good friend to me, and never even thought of abandoning me when I told her what me was inside.

"I suppose I can forgive you this time." She said as she placed her hand on her hip. "You just have to buy me sake tonight since we don't have to patrol." I dropped my head knowing there was no way I could get out of this.

"Fine… deal." I muttered as I walked into my room.

I left the dining hall that evening, leaving Rangiku behind as she started drinking with Ikkaku and Yumichika. I slipped away while she was distracted so she couldn't guilt me into staying. I vanished the area heading towards the Ugendo quarters. For some reason I felt the need to be near something that belonged to uncle Jushiro.

I appeared at the edge of the large clear lake that I had spent so much time playing around as a child. I slowly sat down on the grass watching the sun set over the horizon. I brought my legs up to my chest and wrapped my arms around them resting my chin on my knees.

"Hello father." I said without turning around. I felt him walk to my right and sit next to me while stretching his legs out in front of him and leaning on his hands. I turned my face to the side and watched as he tilted his head up to sky with his eyes closed.

"I figured I'd find you here. I'm assuming Captain Hitsugaya gave you the run down on what was found?" He asked me, and I brought my gaze back to look at the lake.

"Yes, he did. I don't remember this, Kohaku." I stated tightening my arms around my legs.

"I do." My father opened his eyes to look forward over the lake like I was. "He was a brat and full of himself. Jushiro never trusted the kid and would always have someone monitoring his movements." I watched as Shunsui narrowed his gaze before sighing. "The only person I know that can even attempt to find him is Kisuke." He turned his head to look at me. "I've sent word to him already. You leave first thing tomorrow."

I gasped my father knowing him allowing me to go was hard for him to do. He always wanted to put me into a bubble and keep me there.

"You're not going to try and convince me to stay here in the seireitei?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow to him. Shunsui laughed as he sat upright tilting his head down.

"I had a full speech prepared but Nanao caught wind of it and quite literally beat it into my head that you are a grown woman, and a fully capable Soul Reaper." I watched as he rubbed the side of his head as he spoke. "I can't shelter you from everything anymore."

I threw myself at him, hugging him from the side. He laughed as he caught himself to keep from falling over with the force of my hug.

I looked up to his face seeing his smile. "Uncle Jushiro would be so proud of you" I said as I laughed lightly. Knowing that my father was always being reprimanded by Jushiro to let me live my life.

Shunsui laughed as he hugged me to his side tighter before saying "He would have probably encouraged Nanao to hit me harder." We both laughed as we reminisced while continuing to look out over the lake watching the sun set further over the horizon.

The next morning, I stood in my room getting ready. I pulled my arm sleeves up over my elbows before I bent down to pick up my zanpakutos. I paused as I straightened to look in my mirror. My hair was pulled into its usual high ponytail held together by a long turquoise ribbon. My eyes held my gaze seeing that the dark blue rim that was always present around my hazel eyes seemed thicker and more vibrant.

'I feel it too Okami. We will find them' I said internally watching as the blue glowed in response. I needed to find a moment to enter our inner world and speak to her. Everything was so turbulent that I haven't had a moment. I walked out of my room to find Rangiku sitting on our coach and Toshiro leaning against the frame of our back door's frame. His right leg bent up and his arms crossed at his chest.

"Apologies for making you two wait. I wasn't aware I was holding you up." I said and they both looked up at me. Rangiku smiled as she stood up wrapping her right arm around my shoulders.

"Nonsense Kimura! Captain just arrived." I looked over to Toshiro who kept his face stoic, but his eyes shined at me. "I'm so excited to go to the world of the living – Kimura wait until you see the shops!"

"We're not going on a shopping trip Rangiku" Toshiro growled out at her as he stood up straight. He had his usual captain's haori and turquoise scarf wrapped around his neck with Hyorinmaru strapped to his back.

"But Captain!" Rangiku whined as we walked out, and flash stepped to the doors that would allow us passage to the world of the living. The large doors opened, and a white light glowed through.

The three of us stepped through and reappeared in front of a shop. I looked around taking in my surroundings. I looked up as the doors to the shop slid open and a man wearing a long green robe and hat pulled over his eyes walked out with a fan.

'Seriously… could he make himself look more ridiculous?' I asked myself while raising my eyebrow at him.

"Why our guests have arrived! Wonderful!" Kisuke exclaimed as he waved his fan. Rangiku laughed and ran over to him hugging him for a moment before pulling him down the steps of his shop. She stopped him right in front of me.

"Kisuke." I said while staring at him. He stopped waving his fan and his laughing eyes turned serious as he held me gaze. He didn't say anything just stood there. "I have to ask…." I started to say seeing Toshiro watch the interaction, and Kisuke tilted his head to the side. "Who the hell dressed you? You look like a fool." I finished saying and Rangiku feel over laughing.

"What don't you like it? I thought it helped me blend in with an air of mystery." Kisuke said while hold his hand in the air.

"It's an air of something alright…" I muttered before laughing at him. "Good to see your old friend." I said once I was done making fun of him. Kisuke got serious and turned to walk towards his shop.

"Yes, you as well. Come on in. We're all inside."

"We?" I heard Toshiro ask as he followed him in. Once inside the shop I saw a group of people sitting around a table.

"Yes, 'we'. This is a difficult undertaking Toshiro, need all the help we can get." Kisuke responded while Toshiro muttered 'It's Captain Hitsugaya' under his breathe.

"Now from left to right – Ichigo substitute soul reaper, Orihime Ichigo's wife, Chad, Uryu." They all waived as their name was said. "Everyone this is Kimura Kyoraku."

"Wait, Kyoraku? Like the new head captain?" Ichigo asked.

"Why yes Ichigo, good job using that brain." Kisuke replied ignoring Ichigos death glare. "Now as I was explaining before our guests arrived, Kimura is in a bit of a pickle. There is someone after her and I found him here in the world of the living." Toshiro, Rangiku and I snapped our heads to Kisuke.

"You found him already?" I asked shocked.

"Of course, did your memory get damaged after all these years?" Kisuke replied smirking at me while I glared at him, slowly planning how I was going to maim him after this was over. "We all need to be on guard and patrol. He's slippery, if anyone encounters him, do not approach on your own. I remember this kid, he's no joke."

I watched as everyone nodded their heads in agreement. I took the opportunity to look everyone over. Kisuke stood drawing my attention back to him.

"I have your gigais ready." I followed the little girl named Ururu to the room off to the side. Once in my gigai I stood staring at myself, sneering at the outfit I had to wear.

'Maybe I should agree to go shopping with Rangiku.' I tried adjusting the too small shorts and shirt as I walked out of the room. I looked up and saw Toshiro standing there leaning against the wall with his eyebrows raised as he looked me over. I stopped adjusting the clothes and waiting for his eyes to meet mine. His eyes changed from the teasing to hunger.

"Not a word." I threatened him. "I feel like these are child's clothes." I said as he laughed at me. The top was so tight a short it became a crop top which revealed my abs, and slim waist. The shorts they had me in felt like they were going to cut off the circulation in my thighs. I heard Toshiro push off the wall and walk towards me causing me to look up at him.

The hunger in his eyes was still there as he grazed his finger tips up the front of my exposed thighs causing me to shiver at his touch.

"I think we should bring these home with us…" He whispered in my ear causing me to blush bright red. I heard him chuckle as he brushed past me and motioned for me to follow him back out to the group. "We are heading over to Ichigo's home. They have more rooms than Kisuke. The others have already headed over." Toshiro explained as we entered the living room in Kisukes Shop.

Kisuke was sitting there drinking his tea, and his eyes bulged when he saw the outfit.

"You open your mouth Kisuke, and I will make you regret ever being born." I growled at him as he waived both his hands in front of his face while muttering that he wasn't going to say anything. I felt a coat being placed on my shoulders when I turned to look behind me, I saw Tessai standing there. "Thank you Tessai." He bowed his head and walked away.

I saw Toshiro was standing by the door waiting for me. I gave Kisuke one last glare before walking out of his shop.

Toshiro walked in silence down the vacant dark street heading towards Ichigos home. I felt Toshiro's hand close around mine and he pulled me into an ally turning me quickly to have my back hit the stone wall. l craned my head up to look into his eyes seeing the hunger that was there earlier again.

"Kimura…" he whispered as he pulled me into his body running his fingers on my exposed skin at my waist. "Do you know how hard it has been to keep my hands off you, being surrounded by people, no privacy." I heard him mutter as his head moved closer to mine. I slid my hand up his chest which was covered by a dark green collared shirt to wrap around his neck. He claimed my lips kissing me as I stood on my toes, sensing my difficulty he slipped his hands down to slip under my butt and lift me so I could wrap my legs around him.

Toshiro pressed into mine while completely dominating the kiss pulling a moan from my throat. His mouth left mine trailing kisses down my neck causing me to tighten my legs around his waist trying to pull him closer. His teeth started to nip at my skin causing me to expose my throat to him more fully. I gasped as Toshiro moved to my collar bone scrapping his teeth against me and sucking gently.

"I blame you for my loss of control" he growled as he ground his hips into me causing me to gasp "and your lack of protest when I do things like this to you and touch you this way." He added as he started to run a hand across my stomach up towards my breasts, instead he changed course and buried his hand into my hair claiming my lips again in a hungry kiss. He slowly eased his kiss and pulled back bringing his hands to my legs to untangle them and let me slide down the front of his body agonizingly slow.

"If we weren't expected at Kurosaki's, I wouldn't let you leave my arms yet." He said as he caressed my face. I watched as he closed his eyes taking a deep breathe in while resting his head against mine. "You're lucky we aren't somewhere more private." He muttered before taking my hand and leading me back to the street.
