Chapter 18: The first move.

Sirius sprinted following the law enforcement officials to the floo, setting his direction to Minerva McGonagall's office.

"Mr. Black. What are you doing here?" Asked a concerned Minerva.

Sirius answered, "I think I can help."

Minerva shook her head, "No, this is something you should leave to the experts."

Amelia stepped in, "I as head of the department of law enforcement give Sirius Orion Black a temporary license to operate," Amelia handed Sirius a badge, "More hands can be necessary, he has been of help to our department with his self-defense classes for civilians. The rate of people arrested has been the same, but the rate of people seriously harmed, and the rate of people dying in violent crimes has decreased."

The group entered Dumbledore's quarters. Dumbledore's body was lying on his bed. The furniture looked like it hasn't been touched, the only part of the room that looked messy was his desk. This caught Sirius' attention.

Sirius started scanning the desk, there were some pieces of parchment with a quill, some open books, and a certain stone, a stone Sirius recognized as the resurrection stone.

"Madam Bones, we need an unspeakable here, now."

"Why?"

"Did you hear about the Deathly Hallows?"

"Are you talking about those artifacts from the tale of the three brothers?"

"That stone has a symbol like the one described in the tales of old."

"Let me see…", Amelia's eyes opened, "You're right!"

"I've heard rumours that the stone's true purpose was to trick people into killing themselves by showing them illusions of dead people close to them that say the things that would give them the final push."

"Okay. I won't touch it."

A while later a hooded man arrived presenting himself to Sirius, "I'm unspeakable Croaker from the department of mysteries, what do you want to show me?"

"There's something I have to tell you, but first in order for you to believe me I'll tell you something," Sirius whispered on Croaker's ear "I know about the veil of death in the department of mysteries."

Croaker stepped back, stunned Sirius and force-fed him veritaserum.

Croaker asked "How did you know that?!"

Sirius explained, "I'm from a bad future, there was a battle there where I died by being sent to death's realm through the veil. Death sent me back to fix the shit that has happened."

"Why did that battle happen?"

"Voldemort was resurrected by Peter Pettigrew in the triwizard tournament, my godson Harry was led to a trap by him in order to recover a prophecy."

"Is that prophecy…"

"Yeah, one made by Sybyl Patricia Trelawney to Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore."

"Why hasn't that prophecy been claimed by Harry if you know about it?"

"We want to kill the boy-who-lived. Harry wants to be a quidditch hero, not a hero because he was involved in defeating dark lords. We already dealt with the dark lord, so that prophecy became nill."

"What did you ask for me now."

"The deathly hallows, we need to destroy them, and the only way is to send them through the veil of death. I think Dumbledore was driven to suicide by the resurrection stone."

"Do you know the location of the other ones?"

"Yes, the deathstick is Dumbledore's wand, and death's cloak is a Potter family heirloom."

A few hours later, Sirius and Harry were in the Death chamber in the department of mysteries. Sirius levitated the cloak that was tied like a bag with the stone and the wand stuffed inside of it, into the veil of death. A purple wave of energy blasted out of the veil knocking everyone unconscious.

Sirius Black and Harry Potter woke up in what they recognized as death's realm, in front of them the slim silhouette of death greeted them, "you did it again. You collected all my treasures and didn't pursue power with them, you just destroyed them."

Sirius said, "It was necessary, they were causing a lot of suffering in the living realm."

Death replied, "Okay, you win. You'll get another boon. What do you want?"

Sirius added, "We don't want anything else. We know your tricks. Our tales for children mention how much of a trickster you are."

"Fine, you win."

Sirius and Harry woke up, claimed the prophecy and destroyed it, then returned home.

Harry and Ginny were in a small muggle restaurant near Sirius' brewery for dinner after a very long day. Ginny went that morning to leave her brothers in platform 9 ¾ and then going to Holyhead for training. Harry on the other hand had his own training in Falmouth. Dates in the muggle restaurant or in the muggle park became part of both time travelers routine after Ginny was expelled and Harry was pulled out of Hogwarts.

As they walked back to the wizarding section of the brewery, they found Sirius waiting for them.

"Glad you have returned, follow me!" Sirius commanded. The young couple followed Sirius to his office where Sirius locked the door and cast a privacy charm.

Sirius said, "The edition of the evening prophet has arrived, see it for yourselves."

Dolores Umbridge new headmistress at Hogwarts

This afternoon while most of the wizarding british youth were returning to school in the Hogwarts express. Our minister Cornelius Fudge and the chairman of the Hogwarts board of governors Lucius Malfoy, both announce the naming of Senior Undersecretary Dolores Umbridge as headmistress of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry.

Because of the naming of madam Umbridge as headmistress. The new Hogwarts High Inquisitor will be upstanding citizen Vincent Crabbe. 'Hogwarts needs discipline more than ever after Dumbledore let too many unruly students get away with misconduct' said Mr. Crabbe.

Our sources indicate that there is a lot of questioning about the late headmaster Albus Dumbledore's philosophy. With our new chief warlock Nathan Parkinson declaring 'The wizengamot is checking the teaching curriculum in order to purge it from Dumbledore's harmful views. We need more wizarding pride on Hogwarts.'

"More wizarding pride, that doesn't sound good," commented Ginny.

"I think we should start the plan, which target would be better?" Harry asked.

Ginny answered, "I think if a muggleborn is attacked, they just kill them themselves. I also think that if you attack someone in the Malfoy circle, they'd set the school on fiendfyre. I think the first target should be someone pureblood but that doesn't that much clout in the ministry."

Sirius said, "I disagree with you. They want some plausible deniability, some people at Hogwarts would still be suspect if someone outright disappeared. Lucius would be more subtle in his changes because he wants to maintain plausible deniablility. They don't have a Voldemort as an image of terror to subdue the population, so they know that if they anger many people too quickly they'd be screwed. "

Ginny's mirror started to vibrate, she took it and said "Ron Weasley." Harry's eyes opened, as he had an idea.

"Ginny!"

"Ron!"

"Did you find out about the news?"

"About the pink toad? Yes I did!"

"I'm glad you were expelled. The girls all fear Crabbe's dad, they finding him creepy, more creepy than his son."

"In the other timeline the son was a psychopath, he quickly mastered the cruciatus and then was killed by his own fiendfyre."

"Do you have a plan for this?"

"We have a somewhat slow plan. Harry is here, say hello!"

Ron waved, "Harry! Mate!"

Harry waved back to Ron and kissed his girlfriend, "Ginny, I have to go."

Harry sends Ginny with his coin a message while she is talking to Ron.

Keep talking to Ron and bring him into the open.

Harry left Sirius office in order to walk to the room where Andy was doing some brewing experiments.

Harry said, "Andy, it's time."

Andromeda took one flask of Polyjuice potion and handed it to Harry, "Be careful with the potion."

They both walked outside and Andy side along apparated Harry to Hogsmeade, where Harry snuck off to the shrieking shack.

Inside the shrieking shack, Harry took one vial of potion and added a golden hair. Reenacting those books came in handy. The potion turned a dark brown color.

Harry took off his clothes and drank the potion, the potion took effect transforming Harry into Gilderoy Lockhart.

Harry opened the marauder's map in order to check if Lockhart was on his quarters and he was there, he also checked where Ron was and saw that Ron was in the astronomy tower. He quickly sent Ginny a message asking if they were still talking, and requesting her to keep talking to her brother.

Harry used the secret passage to get into the Hogwarts grounds and rushed to the second floor girl's bathroom, he approached the non-functional sink and looking at the snake engraving, he whispered "$open$" in parseltongue. He as a test whispered "$stairs$" and to his relief, a flight of stairs appeared. He went to the main chamber where he rescued Ginny in the other timeline. Harry then said in parseltongue, "$Speak to me, Slytherin , greatest of the Hogwarts Four$".

The basilisk came out of its quarters asking, "$Speaker?$"

Tracey Davis woke up and did her daily morning routine. She went to the renegade common room to look for Ron in order to have breakfast together. She didn't find signals of Ron, she asked one of his roommates, "Dean, Where's Ron."

Dean answered, "I haven't seen him from last night. He didn't sleep here, his bed was made."

Tracey concerned rushed to the great Hall looking for him, but he wasn't there as well. She opened the renegade map to look for him, she saw that he was in the Astronomy tower. As she was arriving towards that location, she first spotted a writing on the wall and stopped to read it.

The chamber of secrets has been opened.

Enemies of the heir beware!

Tracey's eyes narrowed in confusion, she stepped towards the wall in order to investigate. She scanned her surroundings and found Ron, immobile and holding a mirror. She quickly summoned the Hogwarts renegades and asked them to bring McGonagall.

Professors McGonagall and Snape both arrived to the scene at the same time. Snape saw the scene and growled, "POTTER!", he looked at Tracey and screamed, "Where are you hiding the Potter brat? This is his doing, he has been mocking me since he set foot on this castle!"

Tracey retorted, "Harry was pulled out of Hogwarts after your students attacked Astoria!"

"He has always mocked me. That mirror looks like one made by Harry's godfather. This is Potter's doing. I know where to investigate," Snape walked away.

Minerva then looked at the scene and said, "This looks too advanced to be made by mere students," she ran off looking for Snape.

Classes continued as normal with just an altercation with Malfoy at lunch being the only highlight.

It was dinner time when the headmistress Dolores Umbridge made an announcement, "It was brought to my attention that some of you believe that you are above the rules. Not anymore! We have declared a new educational decree. For the protection of every student, all Purebloods will wear a pin with their house crest. Halfbloods will be forbidden of using a family crest, even if they are from an old family," some Slytherins clapped to that proposal.

Umbridge continued, "For the students that aren't from wizarding families. Because you haven't proven your trustworthiness, you have more rules. First is that after the last class of each day you should hand your wand over to the High Inquisitor, Second, you'll all wear an armband like this," Umbridge showed a brown armband with a black 'M' to the public, "For the third security measure we call to the head table to miss Penelope Clearwater."

Penny stood up and walked to the head table.

"Take off your robes!"

"What!"

"Take off your robes, even someone like you understands that!"

Penny slowly took out her robes, revealing the uniform she was wearing.

"Take off your shirt!"

Penny hesitated.

Inquisitor Crabbe roared, "Take off your shirt!"

Penny gulped and took her shirt off.

Inquisitor Crabbe took his wand and branded Penny's back with an 'M'.

Penny was on the floor wincing in pain.

Umbridge then talked to the great hall, "All of the purebloods can leave the great hall. Everyone else should witness this, because this is what will happen to every student that doesn't have wizarding pride."
