(-Three Days Later-)

Three days have passed since the defeat of Superman at the hands of the Insurgents. And with his ultimate downfall, so too was the dismantlement of the One Earth Regime. The members of the group were all beaten and taken into custody, including their soldiers as well.

All nation leaders have offered their gratitude to Batman and his Insurgents for their successful effort to liberate them from Superman. But the one they truly gave their appreciation to was the one who put an end to the Kryptonian's reign, Aaron Grant, Who merely said it was everyone's effort that put an end to the Regime.

With all the appreciation to an end, the next phase was to commence world restoration.

(Entering Injustice Gods Among Us OST: Justice Is Done)

Multiple arrests continue to be in progress within the streets of Gotham City. Thanks to the combined efforts of the Insurgents, Harley Quinn's Joker clan, and former GCPD officers, arrests were finishing up a lot faster than anticipated. Every member of the Regime is seen being hauled into armored vehicles, ready to transport them to prison.

Of course, there were a few members who had to be taken into intensive care to be treated for their injuries. Hawkgirl remains in her comatose state due to her last battle. Nightwing needed to have his jaw realigned after it was damaged. And Sinestro needed to have support to replace the severed hand.

Eric and Robin have just finished loading up Killer Frost in one of the armored prison automobiles, putting her with the rest of her fellow regime members.

Soon came Flash and Catwoman to turn themselves in next. Despite giving their aid to the Insurgents, the former regime members still had to face justice for their involvement with them.

Before they enter the armored vehicle, Flash and Catwoman turn to give their ally/son an apologetic look. Seeing this, the two Insurgents can only give them an encouraging nod, indicating their forgiveness to them. And to that, the former regime members graciously accepted it before entering the vehicle.

Once the transportation makes its departure, Robin lets out a soft sad sigh. But then he feels familiar movement between his legs, inducing him to look down. He sees Isis rubbing himself along his leg before looking up at the boy, followed by Eric's hand on his shoulder as if assuring him of his slightly depressed feelings. Seeing the tech genius and the cat alongside him helps better Robin's mood.

"Superman's accomplices have been rounded up or turned themselves in," Batman audibly informs offscreen.

(-Unknown area-)

"I discerned some had managed to escape," Martian Manhunter informs unfortunate in his voice.

In a private jet that continues flying across the dark sky, Superman's closest friend, Derek Gray, can be seen sitting in his office space as he watches the transpiring news. Despite learning these unfortunate developments occur, the doctor didn't look disappointed or upset at all. And due to his unusually slight smile, He looks rather pleased with these current events.

Derek then shifts over to another monitor screen when he gets a notification. The screen displays some kind of anomaly. An anomaly that he was tracking behind Superman's back. And from what the mysterious physician can predict from the new analysis, it won't be long until it reaches Earth.

"If they escaped, then it's only a matter of time until we find them," Aaron confidently states.

(-Themyscira-)

"Agreed," Batman agrees. "In the meantime, our next job is restoring civil order,"

A despondent Diana now stripped of her titles as both Wonder Woman and Queen of the Amazons. Her Mother, Hippolyta, looks upon her with great disappointment for a few seconds before she motions the female guards to take her away.

The older blonde Amazon then turns to check up on Raven. But only to find an empty settee where Aaron had placed her after their battle. But Hippolyta did find a card in the ten-year-old girl's spot.

Picking it up, Hippolyte doesn't find anything on the card except two letters Z's written in cursive.

"The transitional government has their hands full," J'onn informs.

"If they're having troubles, we can help them, right," Aaron proposes.

(-Metropolis-)

"Yes, but no," Batman turns down The Gardian's recommendation before explaining. "The people need to know that they're in control, not us,"

"So you haven't changed your mind?" J'onn inquiries.

Aaron and Betty are at the the front entrance of the Hall of Justice. There, it was remodeled into a memorial site to honor those who fell fighting the regime.

"I respect the president's offer," Batman answers the Martian's question. "But I don't belong in government, none of us did,"

But The young Gardian sadly gazes at one gravestone. One inscribed with a name, he recognizes so well.

'ALEXANDER JOSEPH LUTHOR'

Aaron tightens his fist before another hand gently envelops it. Recognizing it, he turns to see Betty give him an assuring smile, which helps better his mood as they look at the torn chest plate of Luthor's battle suit in front of his headstone.

"So with this behind us, the world can now be in peace?" Aaron inquisitively asks.

"Yes and no," Batman answers without a shred of doubt. "Crime and corruption will slowly return,"

Hearing his friend's statement, J'onn couldn't help but chuckle. "And here, Ollie would have called you a Pessimist,"

"He would," Batman truthfully agrees with his Martian friend's description of him. "But I'm just being realistic,"

"So what'll happen to Superman, now?" Aaron could not help but ask about the Kryptonian's fate.

(-Stryker's Island-)

"He'll stand trial. They all will," Batman answers.

The young Gardian nods in acceptance. But something else seems to bother Aaron, something that took notice by the two heroes.

"Is there something wrong, Aaron?" Martian Manhunter calmly asks.

"Huh?" A perplexed Aaron turns his head to the Martian before realizing what he meant. "Oh, it's nothing wrong. It's just…" his voice slowly ceases as he tries to find the right words.

"It's just what?" Batman now inquires to know what the young savior is thinking about.

Aaron remains silent for a few seconds before finally deciding to tell them. "It's just I kinda thought this would be the end. That once Superman and his regime were gone, things would be back to normal, to move on with their lives,"

The spiky-haired individual then turns to one of the TVs, displaying live footage of what looks to be a group of people praising him for his recent accomplishment. "But everyone here still expects me to be there for them, to continue protecting them from those that would harm them. I can't say that I'll always be there when they cry out for me to help. After all, I'm only a mortal, Just like them,"

The young Gardian grabs the silver antique of his parent's necklace, and an image of Luthor comes to his head. "How far do they expect me to go to save them from the most threat imaginable? Or if I'm capable of doing it?"

Both Batman and J'onn are surprised by the sheer rumination made by their young savior. They can obliviously see how Aaron has given much serious thought to these matters.

"For everyone's sake, I hope that you never have to find out," Batman solaces those concerns made by Aaron.

"Indeed," J'onn acquiesces before he gives the young warrior some advice. "As long as you don't lose sight of who you're protecting, then you will be capable of making the right decision,"

In truth, after everything that's happened with Superman, no one truly knows what anyone's capable of if push comes to shove. They never believed that he would subjugate the world under his thumb or resort to extreme tactics to keep them from resisting. What's happened in the past is something they must never allow to happen again in the future. They have to be on top of that.

Listening to their remarks has a slight smile form on Aaron's face. "Thanks, guys," he gives his appreciation to them. Just as he did, he soon made his exit out of the prison.

"Just keep something in mind," Batman suddenly tells Aaron as he watches his departure.

"Yeah, what's that?"

"If something ever happens, and you do lose it, I'm coming for you," The Dark Knight declares.

Despite sensing the seriousness in Batman's voice, Aaron couldn't help but chuckle. "Yeah? Well, You'll have to get in line then," Because they know who is in front of the line.

As soon as Aaron leaves, both Batman and Martian Manhunter go silent as they turn their sight to the enormous containment cell in front of them. And the prisoner inside the cell was none other than the most dangerous man in the world, Superman himself.

The compartment is made up of lights. Lights that emit red solar radiation are a perfect apparatus to help keep Superman from ever accessing his powers.

The imprisoned Kryptonian, now garbed in a prison uniform, sits on the floor in dead silence with his head down.

Numerous thoughts continue to plague his mind as he thinks back on the things he's lost. His government, his regime supporters, and the perfect world that he worked so hard for were all destroyed. The people renounced him while declaring the horrid Gardian spawn as their new champion. They're all fools.

Once the next worldwide threat arrives on their doorstep, they'll be begging for him to come back. And he'll incinerate Aaron and everything he cares about.

With these ongoing thoughts, Superman slowly raises his head enough to see the angry expression on his face. Looking closely, His eyes faintly emit a glow.

The end…for no

And the final chapter is done!

Well, we finally reached the end of this story.

I can't tell you guys how much fun I had in writing this entire story. And you guys have been asking me questions if I'm gonna make a sequel for the next Injustice series.

The answer is yes!

You see, while I was writing this whole story down, I've been brainstorming some other fanfiction ideas to write about as well. Ideas that may go beyond the Injustice franchise. Oh, man, just thinking about it gets me so excited that I can't wait to start writing the new story as soon as I can.

For now, though, I just wanna shout out a big thank you for the likes, support, and reviews you gave me to help me finish writing this. And I'll catch you all on the next fanfiction story soon.

And also, as usual, I don't own anything in the story except the OC characters and all the rest belong to their respective owners.

Goodbye, for now.
