AN: As I said before, here I bring you an original chapter, where we will have some unexpected surprises.
Do you want to know what they are?
Read it and you will find out.
We mustn't let failure stop us from moving forward.
Fear and truth. After what happened at the rally, Avatar Korra developed an atrocious fear of Amon, but refused to admit it. That caused her to join Tarrlok's task force before challenging Amon to a duel that ended up being a trap for her. Fortunately, the former Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, arrived to rescue her before it was too late. It was then that she decided to confess her true identity to everyone and declare that she wouldn't let Amon get away with it, but what no one knows is that Amon also has new allies.
A new day was dawning in Republic City.
It had been a couple of days since the 'duel' between Korra and Amon and she was still hurting, both for what she did and what happened.
It had also been a couple of days since Ahsoka revealed her story to the whole world and things got a little crazy for her.
When she walked down the street, people would come up to her to ask her questions or for her to show off her skills.
On the island she received several letters and gifts from fans who wanted to meet her in person and the radio even invited her to be their special guest.
In fact, if it wasn't for Tenzin and one of his angry outbursts, people would have invaded the island just to see her.
Had she known that would happen, she would have preferred to keep her identity hidden, but she could no longer undo what had been done and had to put up with it.
In Korra's room, the Avatar was sitting on her bed because she decided to stay in bed that time so she could rest and settle her thoughts and emotions.
Ahsoka was sitting in a chair beside the bed handing her a cup of tea which Korra drank.
"How are you feeling?" asked Ahsoka.
"I'm feeling better, thank you." began Korra with a smile before that smile turned and she lowered her head. "Listen, I'm sorry again for what I said to you. I didn't mean it. I just didn't want to admit that I was scared and like you said, it blinded and controlled me."
Ahsoka put her hand on her shoulder, causing her to lift her head to see the togruta giving her a smile.
"Hey. Don't worry. I'm not one to hold a grudge. I knew what I was talking about was your anger and fear, it wasn't what you were really feeling." said Ahsoka.
Korra smiled at what a good friend she was.
"By the way, how did you know where I was?" asked Korra with an arched eyebrow.
"Well, there's one little thing I forgot to tell you about my Force abilities." said Ahsoka.
"What thing?" asked Korra.
"Those who are Force sensitive tend to have… dream-like visions or nightmares that show us events in the future." said Ahsoka.
"You say you can see the future?" asked Korra in surprise.
"Not when I want to. It is the Force itself that decides when I have those visions. The night of the rally, I had a vision from the Force where I saw that you were at Amon's mercy. When you challenged Amon, I had a feeling they were related, so I went there to stop whatever was going on." said Ahsoka.
"Wow. Well, anyway, thanks for saving me. I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't come along." said Korra with a smile.
"You're welcome." said Ahsoka with a smile.
It was then that there was a knock on the door and the two turned their gaze towards it to see that, as it opened, Mako and Bolin were shown on the other side.
"We wouldn't have missed visiting hours, would we?" asked Bolin.
"Mako? Bolin? What are you two doing here?" asked Korra surprised to see them.
"I thought their presence might cheer you up, so I asked them to come." said Ahsoka.
"It wasn't easy. They almost didn't let us in because of all the people who want to come here." said Mako.
"Thank Miss Famous." said Korra giving the togruta a smirk.
"Hey, I didn't exactly ask to become the most famous person on the planet. How was I supposed to know they'd react that way for having an alien in their midst?" asked Ahsoka crossing her arms.
"Who wouldn't? Not only are you a being from beyond the stars, but you're also an ancient Jedi with mind-blowing powers and awesome lightsabers." said Bolin.
"Hehe. Yeah, I guess you're right." said Ahsoka.
After that, Mako and Bolin sat down next to Ahsoka.
"How are you feeling?" asked Mako.
"Better, thanks." began Korra with a smile before looking at the boys guiltily. "Guys, I'm sorry I didn't make it to practice, but I just..."
"Hey, it's okay. Ahsoka told us all about it. We don't blame you for it." said Mako.
"Exactly. Anyone in your situation would have done the same thing." said Bolin.
"Still, I shouldn't have acted that way." said Korra.
"Listen, Korra. No one is perfect, not even the Avatar. No one should expect you to solve every problem on the first try. In my opinion, you should take some time off before you get back into action." said Ahsoka.
Korra realized she was planning good points in her argument.
She remembered when she was told about how Aang made the mistake of running away and being frozen for 100 years before returning to stop Ozai after months of training.
Maybe she should just wait and prepare for when she would face Amon again and that time she wouldn't let her negative emotions get the better of her.
"You know what? You're right. I think it's time for me to get back to focusing on pro-bending and airbending." said Korra with a smile.
"Wait, what about Tarrlok and his task force?" asked Mako.
"Oh, don't worry about that. I already sent him her letter of resignation." said Ahsoka.
"Great, the Fire Ferrets are back!" exclaimed Bolin with a raised fist.
The others chuckled at the earthbender's enthusiasm.
In Tenzin's office at city hall, the airbender was sitting at his desk reviewing some documents until Ahsoka entered the office, catching his attention.
"Ah, hello, Ahsoka, how's Korra?" asked Tenzin.
"Getting better. So, why did you call me?" asked Ahsoka.
"Well, after you revealed yourself to the world, the council has been asking about how you will act based on the Equalists." said Tenzin.
"All I know is that their movements are unpredictable, but their message is the same in all. Bring discord and fear among benders and non- benders. The best thing would be for me to collaborate with the police to try to get clues." said Ahsoka.
"Do you think Lin will go along with the idea?" asked Tenzin knowing how the police chief was.
"She doesn't seem to bother with me, so it's possible." said Ahsoka with a shrug.
Shortly thereafter, the two went to the city police department.
As they approached reception, they bumped into Saikhan.
"Sergeant Saikhan." greeted Tenzin.
"Counselman Tenzin, how may I help you?" asked Saikhan.
"We would like to speak to Chief Beifong, is she available right now?" asked Tenzin.
"Yes, I believe she has an opening right now to attend to you and your companion." said Saikhan before leading them through the building.
Lin was in her office, sitting quietly until someone knocked on the door.
"Yes?" asked Lin.
The door opened to reveal Saikhan with Tenzin and Ahsoka.
"Chief Beifong, Counselman Tenzin and miss Tano have come to speak with you." said Saikhan.
Lin sighed, as she knew this might happen since Ahsoka announced her existence to the world a couple of days ago.
"Send them in." said Lin.
Saikhan stepped aside to allow them to enter the office before closing the door, leaving the three alone.
"Good afternoon, Lin." said Tenzin trying to break the ice.
"Leave the greetings, Tenzin. I assume you're here to talk about the Equalists." said Lin.
"What makes you think that?" asked Ahsoka sarcastically with a smile.
"Don't play games with me, Tano. Some of my men have been busy taking care of your masses of fans so they won't storm the island, the town hall or this building." said Lin.
"In my defense, I didn't think this could happen." said Ahsoka.
"Well it has, but enough of this nonsense. Let's cut to the chase." said Lin.
"Listen, Chief Beifong, I know from Tenzin that you can be quite proud and intimidating." began Ahsoka, causing Lin to shoot the airbender a withering glare that made him shiver with fear. "But we both have a common enemy and that is Amon. I have my experience and you have yours. If we collaborate together, maybe we can stop them before it's too late."
Lin wasn't going to admit it, but the togruta raised good points.
She was a commander who had been on various missions throughout the galaxy and she knew the city very well.
By mixing the two, they could get better results than they did now.
"Hmm. You raise a good point. All right, we'll collaborate." began Lin to the airbender's surprise. "But you'll be under my orders. Commander or not, you have no authority here, understood?"
"Roger that, chief." said Ahsoka.
"Where do you suggest we start?" asked Lin.
"I think I should go through whatever information you have on the Equalists. Maybe I can find a little pattern in them." said Ahsoka.
"Good. Follow me." said Lin getting up from the chair to lead the airbender and togruta out of the office.
"How did you manage that? It takes a lot to convince Lin to collaborate with someone." said Tenzin quietly.
"Let's just say I have experience dealing with people like her." said Ahsoka recalling a certain proud and intimidating Jedi master.
Hours passed since Ahsoka reviewed all the reports related to the Equalists, from their members to their acts and various premises that Tarrlok's task force had attacked throughout those days.
Both she and Lin were sharing information and data that could be useful.
After a good while of observation and conversation, Ahsoka saw that she needed a break and Lin allowed it while she would take care of the rest.
Now Ahsoka was sitting on a bench massaging her head.
How she wished Rex or Anakin and Obi-Wan were here with her, for with all those minds together, they could find a clue, but she couldn't contact them due to the distance in the Force and the very low-quality technology on the planet.
It was then that a clerk approached her, catching her attention.
"Miss Tano, you have a call." said the clerk.
Ahsoka arched an eyebrow in confusion, as she didn't know who might be calling her at the moment, so she decided to follow the clerk to where the phone was off the hook.
"Ahsoka here. Who is this?" asked Ahsoka over the phone.
"Ahsoka? This is Mako." said Mako from the other end of the line.
"Mako? To what do I owe this call?" asked Ahsoka.
"You see, I ran into Asami on my way to the island to pick up Korra to take her to training and she asked me to tell you that she would like to meet you." said Mako.
"Didn't she already meet me at that gala that Tarrlok put on?" asked Ahsoka.
"Yes, but she meant really meeting you, since at that time, she didn't know about… well, you know." said Mako.
"I understand. Well, I guess I could meet her." said Ahsoka.
"Great. She told me she'll be at Kuang's Cuisine in an hour." said Mako.
"Isn't that that fancy restaurant where you had your first date?" asked Ahsoka with a smile.
"Yes and don't worry about the clothes. I don't think she will mind." said Mako.
"It's okay. Tell him I'll be there." said Ahsoka.
"I will. Thank you, Ahsoka." said Mako.
"You're welcome." said Ahsoka before hanging up.
Truthfully, Ahsoka didn't expect that she, of all people, would want to meet up with her, but since she was Mako's girlfriend, it would be fitting for them to get to know each other better, so after informing Lin and Tenzin about it, she left for her meet up.
An hour later and dodging fans in the process, Ahsoka arrived at the aforementioned restaurant.
Once she entered, she was greeted by a waiter.
"Miss Tano, I presume?" said the waiter.
"Uh… yes. I'm meeting Asami Sato here." said Ahsoka.
"Of course. miss Sato is waiting for you. Come with me." said the waiter before leading Ahsoka through the restaurant.
As she went along, she could feel the stares of the other customers, as well as hear some comments about her.
Honestly, she didn't mind being looked at or commented on.
The waiter guided Ahsoka to a table where she could see Asami who noticed the togruta's arrival.
"Ahsoka." greeted Asami.
"Hello, Asami." said Ahsoka sitting across from her.
"I hope I didn't interrupt you something." said Asami.
"Oh, that's okay. I needed a little break." said Ahsoka.
"Out of curiosity, how's that being the talk of the city going for you?" asked Asami.
"Well, it's a little annoying, but it doesn't bother me much." said Ahsoka.
"Don't worry. You'll see how things will calm down eventually." said Asami.
"Sure. After all, says the daughter of the president of Future Industries." said Ahsoka.
"Touché." said Asami.
"So, according to Mako, you wanted to meet me to get to know me better." said Ahsoka.
"Yes. When I met you at the gala, I was a little curious as to why you were hiding your face and now I can see it. By the way, what exactly is it?" asked Asami.
"They are called montral. They are a characteristic trait of my species, the togruta." said Ahsoka.
"Interesting. Well, the thing is, after you revealed your identity to the world, I asked Mako about you, since he was the one who told me about you and told me everything." said Asami.
"I'm sorry that I had to lie to you." said Ahsoka.
"Oh, no. It's okay. I can perfectly understand why he did it. That's when I wanted to get to know you better, to know about you through you and not through the news or other people." said Asami.
"I understand. So where do you want to start?" asked Ahsoka.
"For starters, what are the vehicles in space like?" asked Asami excitedly.
"I sensed you'd ask that, so I brought this." said Ahsoka pulling out the device from which, upon pressing the button, displayed a small three-dimensional image of a hovercraft vehicle.
"Wow. What is that?" asked Asami looking at the hologram.
"It's called a hologram. This device stores a lot of data that I can display three-dimensionally." said Ahsoka.
"Amazing." said Asami passing her hand through the hologram.
"What you're looking at is a standard hovercraft model." said Ahsoka.
"And how can it circulate? It doesn't appear to have wheels." said Asami looking at every part of the holographic image.
"They don't need wheels. They possess a device called a repulsor that allow them to float and move on the ground." said Ahsoka.
"It's mind-blowing!" began Asami with a big smile. "You don't know how much I'd like to analyze one of those ships, but Mako told me that your ship was destroyed upon landing."
"Yes and I don't think I can build another one. Not only because I have no mechanical knowledge, but because the technology on this planet is, compared to my home, a bit primitive. No offense." said Ahsoka.
"None taken. Considering that you have space traveling ships and metal beings, it's only natural that you would consider it so. You know? It may sound crazy of me, but, maybe in time, Future Industries can create a spaceship." said Asami.
"It would be pretty awesome if you pull it off. You have my full support." said Ahsoka.
"Thanks. Hey, how about you come to Future Industries tomorrow? I'm sure my dad would love to meet you." said Asami with a smile.
"I can't refuse such an invitation." said Ahsoka with a smile.
The next day, Ahsoka was in the gymnasium of the pro-bending arena, where Korra was training with Mako and Bolin, catching the ball they were throwing to each other.
"How's the investigation going, Ahsoka?" asked Korra.
"At the moment, Chief Beifong and I have gone through the reports related to the Equalists and so far we haven't found anything." said Ahsoka.
"Can't you use your commander knowledge to find a clue?" asked Bolin catching the ball before throwing it.
"I have, but those guys know how to hide very well." said Ahsoka.
"Well, I'm sure you'll find out something." said Mako throwing the ball to Korra who managed to catch it.
"You know, Korra? You could come give us a hand. I'm sure Chief Beifong won't mind if the Avatar pitches in too." said Ahsoka.
"Uh… Thanks for the offer, but I think I should stick with that taking it easy thing." said Korra with a nervous smile.
Ahsoka could see that it wasn't just that, there was something else in her because of the trauma she went through with Amon.
Something that felt familiar.
That's when the radio began to play static.
"Greetings, fellow Equalists. This is your leader, Amon speaking. I am sure you are aware of the existence of our visitor from the stars. She says she wants to collaborate with the Avatar to protect the balance of the city. Well, I tell her that won't hinder our goal of bringing equality. You will soon see that we have our own surprises as well." said Amon through the radio before it shut itself off.
"What could he have meant by 'surprises'?" asked Bolin.
"I don't know, but I don't like the sound of it." said Ahsoka.
"What if it's a publicity stunt to trick and scare people like you say?" asked Mako.
"Something tells me it wasn't just that." began Ahsoka before noticing something about her friend. "Korra, are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm fine. I think we should ignore that and get back to training." said Korra nervously.
"She's right, we have a tournament to win!" exclaimed Bolin.
Ahsoka knew she was right about her friend.
The events of what happened with Amon still lingered in her mind and it hurt her more than she expected and that made her feel like she wasn't ready to face Amon or anything related to him.
She could only hope that she could get over it before it was too late.
Meanwhile, in a hidden and secret place.
Several Equalist soldiers were carrying several boxes from one side to the other.
All that was supervised by the mysterious boy with the metal mouth mask and soon after, Amon and the lieutenant approached him from behind as he stepped out of the shadows.
"Is everything there?" asked Amon.
"A shipment should arrive in the night. Right now they're just getting it ready for transport." said the boy.
"And what if the Avatar or that alien girl suddenly shows up?" asked the lieutenant.
"The Avatar will most likely find herself indisposed after the 'talk' I had with her and as for the star visitor, we have what it takes to deal with her." said Amon.
"That's right." began the boy before turning to look at them. "So far, we've been acting like simple gangsters, but soon, everyone will see that we take things seriously." said the boy as something activated and emitted sparks that lit up his face.
The next day, Ahsoka went on her visit to Future Industries and when she arrived at one of their factories, she saw Asami and her father standing in front of the entrance.
"Hey, Ahsoka. You came." said Asami.
"I couldn't turn down a friend's invitation." said Ahsoka making the engineer smile seeing that she considered her a friend.
"Oh, right. You know my father." said Asami.
"It's a pleasure to be able to meet you in person, miss Tano. I've heard many things about you." said Hiroshi shaking hands with the togruta's hand.
"You can call me Ahsoka, Mr. Sato." said Ahsoka.
"In that case, you can call me Hiroshi. Then how about we go inside and I show you around the facility?" asked Hiroshi.
Once inside, Ahsoka could see people riding satomobiles on each side or even operating machines riding them.
"Not bad. It's pretty impressive for the technological level of this world." said Ahsoka.
"Hehe. I'll take that as a compliment. Out of curiosity, what are the factories like in… the galaxy?" asked Hiroshi.
"Well, that depends. Some are usually run by droids, others by both living beings and droids, and sometimes, just living beings. My master told me that, when he was little, he was able to assemble a hovercraft and a droid from scratch and just from scrap metal he found." said Ahsoka.
"He built a droid on his own?! Unbelievable!" said Asami in amazement.
"Right. Your master must be a tech genius. I'd love to meet him someday." said Hiroshi.
"Well, you're no slouch yourself. Mako told me that you set up this whole business from scratch." said Ahsoka.
"That's right. I was nothing but a simple shoeshine boy until a man came along who believed in me and my invention and thanks to him, I was able to set all this up. In fact, Asami told me that she intended to build a spaceship. If that actually happens, Future Industries won't only be famous all over the planet, but all over space." said Hiroshi.
"Well, don't get your hopes up either. There are thousands of companies with more advanced ships." said Ahsoka.
"I know. Although, Asami also told me about you having a device that stores data. Do you have data from those ships? Or from those droids?" asked Hiroshi.
"Unfortunately, all you have of information is nothing but images and holo-recordings. I don't have anything related to construction or creation data and if I did, I'm sorry, but I couldn't give it to anyone." said Ahsoka.
"Why not? Imagine how many people those droids or those ships could help." said Hiroshi.
"Yes, but they can also bring chaos if that information were to fall into the wrong hands. I have been for years fighting a war with a side that used combat droids and many lives were lost in that war." said Ahsoka.
"She's right, dad. What would happen if those Equalists got hold of that information? They could wipe out anyone who opposed them with no problem." said Asami.
Hiroshi looked at his daughter for a few seconds before sighing.
"You're right. I'm sorry about earlier. I guess we should all be responsible with the technology we create." said Hiroshi.
"That's okay." said Ahsoka.
"Speaking of technology. Could you show us those lightsabers I've heard so much about?" asked Asami with a smile.
"Sure." said Ahsoka before taking one of her lightsabers and activating it in front of the other two who gaped open-mouthed at the sight of the glowing green blade.
"Fascinating. I've never seen anything like that before. How does it work?" asked Hiroshi.
"Well, its construction is part of Jedi training. When the time comes, you perform a ceremony where you choose, through your connection to the Force, a kyber crystal, the power source. Then comes the time when you create your own wielder based on your needs, preferences and style." explained Ahsoka waving the sword a bit before turning it off.
"Awesome! Would you let me have it for a moment?" asked Asami holding out her hand.
"No problem." said Ahsoka handing the lightsaber to the engineer.
Asami stared at the hilt from all angles until she found a button and when she pressed it, the glowing blade activated.
"Wow." said Asami in amazement.
"Be careful, Asami." said Hiroshi.
"Yes, it can be difficult to handle for an inexperienced person." said Ahsoka.
Asami swung the lightsaber back and forth slowly, keeping her eye on the glowing blade of the lightsaber.
"Awesome. It feels a little heavy, but still…" began Asami before turning off the lightsaber and handing it back to the togruta. "You really put a lot of thought into the design."
"Thank you. It wasn't complicated for me to find my style. I just got carried away by the Force." said Ahsoka.
"It was that energy that surrounds everything, right? Anyone can use it?" asked Hiroshi.
"No. It's almost like bending in this world. Some are born with a strong connection to the force and some are not." said Ahsoka.
"I see. Well, anyway, we'd better continue the visit." said Hiroshi just as an employee came running to the place.
"Excuse me, sir, but there is a call for miss Tano from Chief Beifong." said the employee.
"What is it?" asked Ahsoka.
"She says she wants her in commissary right away. That's all she said." said the clerk.
"I understand." began Ahsoka, sensing that this was something important before turning her gaze to the Sato family. "Looks like we'll have to save the visit for another time."
"That's all right. It's been a pleasure chatting with you." said Asami.
"Same here. Come and see us anytime." said Hiroshi.
"Thank you, Hiroshi." said Ahsoka before leaving.
Later, Ahsoka arrived at the police headquarters and met with Lin in her office.
"So, what happened to make you call me?" asked Ahsoka.
"Well, I don't want to say this again, but I followed one of your tips." began Lin, to the togruta's surprise.
"You… took a piece of advice from me?" asked Ahsoka.
"Don't make me repeat myself. The thing is, I started investigating everyone associated with the Equalists that Tarrlok and his task force captured that night. At first, they were all clean until I found something." said Lin.
"What?" asked Ahsoka.
Lin pulled out a folder from a drawer which he placed on the desk and opened it to reveal a picture of a man.
"This man, who was in the business of selling newspapers, owns a small warehouse near the outskirts of the city in his name. According to the investigation, he said it was to expand his business." said Lin.
"Sounds like the perfect place to conduct illegal operations." said Ahsoka.
"Exactly. So, even though I don't like it, I've decided that you can join us in raiding the warehouse and stop whatever they're doing there." said Lin.
"Understood. When will we conduct the raid?" asked Ahsoka.
"Right away." said Lin.
Soon after, in front of an old warehouse that looked abandoned, behind a corner stood Ahsoka, Lin and several policemen.
"That's the place." said Lin.
"If we knew how many are inside, we might know how to act." said Ahsoka.
"I'll take care of that." said Lin separating from the others.
She lifted her foot, the sole of whose shoe retracted from the metal's grip, and Lin stomped hard on the ground.
Unseen by anyone, several ripples were sent from the foot all over the ground.
"There are several of them in there and they seem to be transporting goods in a basement." said Lin.
"How can you tell?" asked Ahsoka.
"It's a technique my mother learned and taught me. It allows us to be able to see what others don't see through our feet." said Lin.
"A way to sound subway. Amazing." said Ahsoka in awe.
Indeed, if they had such an ability, things in the war would have been different.
"We'll go around the back so they won't see us coming. Let's go." said Lin before they all set off.
Once they reached the back, Lin used metalbending to silently open the door and they all proceeded to sneak inside.
They walked down the halls while looking to each side to make sure they didn't run into someone unexpected.
Finally, they came to a door and when they opened it, they saw stairs leading down.
As they went down the stairs, they quickly hid behind some boxes and when they peeked out, they saw what they were looking for.
Several Equalist soldiers were going from one place to another, loading boxes into a vehicle.
There were also a couple of objects covered with blankets.
"I was right. They seem to be running a transport operation." said Ahsoka.
"In that case, we have to make sure we catch them all. We can't let them get away with whatever they're transporting." said Lin.
"Understood, chief." said Ahsoka pulling out her lightsabers.
Lin waved her hand in a countdown gesture.
She showed three fingers, then two and… finally… one.
"Police! Everybody freeze!" shouted Lin as she, Ahsoka and the police came out of hiding.
In the next instant, the Equalist soldiers stopped what they were doing to dive in as a couple of them headed for the vehicle.
Ahsoka used the Force to pull them aside, pushing them away from the vehicle to prevent them from escaping.
An Equalist soldier lunged towards Lin and began to punch repeatedly at the armor, only for him to groan from the pain in him hands afterwards.
"Sorry, but that won't happen with us." said Lin before punching the soldier, knocking him down in the process.
The Equalist soldiers proceeded to throw their bolas.
Some of the policemen managed to dodge while others repelled them with their metal ropes, but two of them ended up being tied up by the bolas.
An Equalist soldier charged at Ahsoka, as she was the only one without armor, and proceeded to try to hit her somehow, but she was able to easily dodge the attacks before performing a Force push to send him flying into the basement wall.
Two Equalist soldiers launched their bolas towards her, but in one swift move, she activated her lightsabers and cut the ropes before using the Force to pull them back and send them crashing into each other.
Without wasting any time, Lin stomped on the ground, launching an earth wave that moved so fast that the Equalist soldiers couldn't react in time and ended up falling to the ground.
Before they could get up, the policemen shot metal ropes at them to tie them up.
A few minutes later, all the Equalist soldiers found themselves tied up and gathered in one area while surrounded by Lin, Ahsoka and the policemen.
"Very well. You are already telling what you intended to do with all this cargo." said Lin questioning them.
"We're not going to tell you anything, bender scum." said one of the Equalist soldiers.
Lin was about to go into really bad cop mode when Ahsoka stopped her with her arm.
"Leave it to me." said Ahsoka standing in front of the same soldier.
"I won't say anything to you either, you filthy alien." said the Equalist soldier.
"We'll see about that." began Ahsoka pointing her hand at him before applying the Force to his mind. "Tell us what you were doing here."
The soldier was moaning for a few seconds, as if he was resisting something.
"Amon… he sent us to take all this to the rendezvous point… where others would take it to the base." said the Equalist soldier.
"Do you know where the base is?" asked Ahsoka applying the Force.
"N-No… And even if I did know… it wouldn't last long… They always move…" said the Equalist soldier.
Getting the necessary answers, Ahsoka stopped applying the Force on him.
"I didn't know the Jedi Mind Trick worked that way." said Lin.
"We don't use it very often." Ahsoka said.
"Ok. Record everything and secure the evidence!" ordered Lin to his men who nodded in agreement before proceeding with their duty.
Ahsoka also joined them, checking the surroundings for any clues about Amon.
It was then that she began to get curious about the boxes there, wondering what it was they were going to transport.
Approaching one, she proceeded to open it, but then, the moment she saw its contents, she let out a loud gasp of shock and horror.
Such a gasp was noticed by Lin.
"What's wrong, Tano?" asked Lin.
"Chief Beifong, what they were going to transport… it's much worse than I thought." said Ahsoka.
"What is it? Show me." said Lin approaching Ahsoka.
Ahsoka took an object out of the box and showed it to Lin who was confused when she saw the design of the object.
"What the hell is that?" asked Lin.
"It's a DH-17 blaster pistol, a long-range weapon that shoots plasma beams." said Ahsoka.
"How do you know that?" asked Lin.
"Because it's a common weapon in the galaxy I come from." said Ahsoka.
"What?! How is it possible that there are space weapons on this planet?" asked Lin.
"I don't know either, but if the Equalists possess these weapons, things could become more serious than before." said Ahsoka.
"Are those things that powerful?" asked Lin.
In response, Ahsoka pointed the weapon at a wall and shot a plasma beam that left a large scorch mark on the wall.
"Even clone armor couldn't withstand a shot from these weapons." said Ahsoka.
Lin frowned in concern.
It was bad enough that Amon had the ability to take away the benders' powers or that his subordinates had the ability to block the benders' chi or immobilize them, but if they got their hands on such weaponry, even the entire police force couldn't against them.
"Sergeant, have you and the others gather all the contents of those boxes and destroy them at once!" exclaimed Lin.
"But Chief Beifong, they are evidence. Besides, if what miss Tano said is true, then we could use those weapons to our advantage." said Saikhan.
"I won't let those weapons end up in just anyone's hands and I don't trust that they will be better off in our hands. Do it or I will consider you part of this." said Lin with utmost seriousness.
Saikhan was taken aback by the last thing Lin said and without questioning him further, proceeded to carry out his order.
"You have made a good decision. It isn't advisable for a not so developed planet to possess such developed weapons." said Ahsoka.
"I know, but I have a feeling this isn't over." said Lin.
"You're right. We may have stopped a transport operation, but who knows how many of these weapons they will have by now." said Ahsoka putting the pistol back in the box.
"Chief Beifong, we found a couple of weird things." said a policeman.
"Show them to me." said Lin before she and Ahsoka followed the policeman to a couple of things that were covered with blankets.
Ahsoka lifted the blanket off those items and let out another big gasp of shock when she saw what it was.
"It can't be." said Ahsoka in disbelief at what she was seeing.
Soon after, Ahsoka went to the city hall, where she convinced Tenzin to call a council meeting.
Right now Ahsoka was in the center of the tables where the council members, including Tenzin and Tarrlok, were sitting.
"Ahsoka, would you mind telling us why you asked me to call a meeting?" asked Tenzin.
"Of course. As you may know, council members, I have been working with Chief Beifong to try to locate Amon and the Equalists." said Ahsoka.
"And did you find anything?" asked Tarrlok.
"Yes. By investigating, we managed to find a warehouse where they were running a transport operation and stopped them all before they could take the cargo." said Ahsoka.
"Did you have us meet to give us a police report?" asked the Fire Nation counselor.
"No. I have gathered you because of the kind of cargo they were transporting." said Ahsoka.
"What was it?" asked Tenzin.
It was then that Ahsoka took the blaster pistol from her belt and showed it to the council, who looked at it curiously.
"It is a blaster pistol from my home galaxy. It has the ability to shoot plasma beams so powerful that not even police armor could withstand it." said Ahsoka.
That shocked everyone on the council.
"How did the Equalists get hold of that?" asked Tenzin.
"I don't know how it happened, but if Amon possesses an arsenal of these things, I'm afraid the situation has become worse." said Ahsoka.
"In that case, we must act immediately. If they also possess those weapons, we should have them too." said Tarrlok.
"Unfortunately, Chief Beifong had all the weapons we found in the warehouse destroyed." said Ahsoka.
"What? How could she think of doing such a thing?" asked Tarrlok.
"Councilor Tarrlok, let me tell you that she did right. Those weapons are too advanced and dangerous in inexperienced hands." said Ahsoka.
"She is right, Tarrlok. We aren't prepared for such technology." said Tenzin agreeing with the togruta.
"But they are and it is clear that they won't stop until they wipe us all out with those weapons." said Tarrlok.
"For now, we will try to find out where they got those weapons from and, if possible, stop them from getting their hands on more." said Ahsoka.
"Agh. None of this would have happened if Avatar Korra was still in my task force. If she came back, maybe…" began Tarrlok.
"Korra isn't coming back to your task force. I made that quite clear." said Ahsoka.
"Oh, right, that's true. She's too scared now to want to fight. Doesn't she care about this city anymore?" asked Tarrlok with a mischievous grin.
"How dare you talk about Korra like that?" asked Tenzin standing up with a frown.
"Never mind. I'll go prepare my men, as we seem to be short on weaponry." said Tarrlok throwing one last glance at the togruta before leaving.
Ahsoka couldn't help but feel he was right.
Korra was so affected with what happened with Amon that it seemed she didn't want to get involved with him and not just because of the fact that she had to train airbending or train for the pro-bending tournament.
Back at the secret hideout, Amon, the lieutenant and the boy had heard about the raid.
"Damn. Now, not only do they know about our new toys, but now they have them." said the lieutenant.
"I doubt that very much." said the boy.
"What makes you think that?" asked the lieutenant.
"Chief Beifong isn't like Counselor Tarrlok. She's not willing to do anything for the city." said the boy.
"He's right. She most likely destroyed them, so that's a point in our favor." said Amon.
"Besides, we still have one last shipment left to transport." said the boy.
"In that case, I'll go check on the transport personally." said the lieutenant.
"Sounds good to me and don't forget your new toys of your own in case you run into the togruta girl." said the boy.
The lieutenant smiled mischievously at the thought of meeting her with his new toys.
The next day, Ahsoka was in her room, doing something on an object covered by a blanket.
It turns out that, after learning what the objects covered by the blankets were, she asked Lin to keep them and after much prodding, she agreed on the condition that it would be her responsibility.
However, those objects weren't in good condition and she now found herself repairing them while making sure to keep the blanket to cover them, as she didn't want to reveal them until they were fully repaired.
BZZZMMM
Suddenly, a certain sound caught her attention and she poked her head out from under the blanket to see that Jinora had picked up her green colored lightsaber and turned it on.
"Wow." said Jinora looking at the glowing blade in amazement.
Suddenly, the lightsaber flew out of her hand and into Ahsoka's hand.
"This isn't a child's toy." said Ahsoka before turning it off.
"I'm sorry. I couldn't help it. I'm so fascinated by the history of the Jedi and the Force." said Jinora.
"Hehe. I can imagine." said Ahsoka.
"What are you doing, by the way?" asked Jinora looking at the blanket covered objects.
"A small personal project, nothing more." said Ahsoka.
"Can I see it?" asked Jinora.
"I'm sorry, but they're not ready to be shown yet." began Ahsoka causing Jinora to let out a pout of frustration. "But tell me, what exactly did you come here for other than your enthusiasm for my life?"
Jinora's eyes widened as she saw that she had been caught.
"You see, it's about Korra. She's been a little weird lately. Yes, I know she's now focused on her training in airbending and pro-bending. And now she admits she's afraid of Amon, but I can tell there's something else about her. Something that worries me." said Jinora.
Apparently, Ahsoka wasn't the only one who noticed Korra's suspicious behavior.
She may have been better now after her encounter with Amon, but it had completely affected her confidence.
There was no doubt about it, she had to do something or it could affect her, not just her, but everyone.
Once she made her decision, she patted the young airbender's head.
"You really are brilliant. Don't worry, I'll talk to her. Try not to touch anything." said Ahsoka before leaving the room.
Jinora stood for a moment before looking at the objects covered with the blanket.
A childish part of her wanted to pick up that blanket and see what was in it, but her mature part ended up making her leave the room, still wondering what was in there.
Korra was in the octagonal training area, practicing airbending steps.
"Korra!"
Korra stopped her movements and turned to see Ahsoka standing on the stairs before sitting down and pointing to her side.
"Do you mind sitting down for a moment?" asked Ahsoka.
Korra arched an eyebrow in confusion before complying with her request and sitting down next to her.
"What's wrong?" asked Korra.
"Listen, it's nice that you're taking a break from everything to focus on yourself, but I can tell there's something else, isn't there?" asked Ahsoka.
Instead of answering, Korra lowered her head, for she knew she was right.
Soon after, Ahsoka put her hand on her shoulder, causing her to raise her head.
"You can tell me about it. We're friends, aren't we?" asked Ahsoka with a smile, making Korra smile for a moment.
"Well, the thing is… when you invited me to join you and Beifong to investigate the Equalists… I… wanted to accept, but I hesitated. Normally, I would have agreed to be able to find out more about them and kick their asses, but after what happened with Amon, I… I don't feel capable." said Korra.
"I understand. You know? I went through something similar." said Ahsoka.
"You do?" asked Korra curiously.
"It was during my early years in the Clone Wars. The planet Ryloth had been taken over by the Separatists and the Jedi Council sent Anakin and I to destroy the blockade that prevented us from being able to go to the planet. I was leading a squadron for the first time. Blue Squadron. We fought valiantly and managed to open a path to the enemy ship, but then Separatist reinforcements arrived and I was ordered to withdraw, but I refused and it resulted in the loss of half my squadron." said Ahsoka.
Korra was surprised.
She knew that she had participated in many battles during the war, but she didn't think that in one she would have suffered something similar and all because she made a mistake.
"After we withdrew, we were sent back to the mission, but I felt shaken and unable to take command of any squadron again. My master tried to encourage me to keep going, but to no avail. It was then that Anakin came up with a plan that would give us victory and he was counting on my help for it. At that moment I felt pressured, because, if I couldn't keep an entire squadron alive, how could I keep my master alive?" asked Ahsoka.
Korra stood quietly listening intently to her friend's story.
In fact, she couldn't help but compare herself to her.
She made a mistake that resulted in her almost losing her powers or dying and right now she didn't feel capable of returning to action.
However, she suffered something almost worse than her own, for her mistake cost several soldiers their lives and now she had been put on a mission that, if she failed, her master would die.
"However, I couldn't sit idly by while my master put his life on the line. I couldn't allow myself to make the same mistake. So in the end, I came up with a plan that made my master's plan work and we managed to destroy the blockade and reach the planet. What I mean is that we can't let a mistake from the past mark our lives." said Ahsoka.
"But how will I know I can be the Avatar again?" asked Korra.
"You won't know, but I want you to know that I trust you and that you will be a great Avatar." said Ahsoka before walking away, leaving Korra who had a lot to think about.
Later, Ahsoka was back in her room working on her little project.
That's when Tenzin knocked on the door, causing her to poke her head out from under the blanket.
"Yes?" asked Ahsoka before the door opened, revealing Tenzin.
"Ahsoka, it's about Lin. She wants you to put on right away." said Tenzin.
If it was Lin Beifong, it had to be something important, so she wasted no time in walking over to where the phone was and picking it up.
"Chief Beifong, what is it?" asked Ahsoka.
"Tano, we've gotten information on a new shipment that the Equalists intend to pass through the city and we can both guess what kind of shipment it is." said Lin from the other end of the line.
"Blaster pistols." said Ahsoka.
"Exactly. We can't let that cargo fall into the hands of those guys. We're already preparing to go after them, but we could use some extra help." said Lin.
"I'll head over there right away." said Ahsoka before hanging up.
"I'm coming with you."
Ahsoka turned around to see Korra looking at her seriously.
Needless to say, the togruta was a little surprised at that.
"Are you sure, Korra?" asked Ahsoka.
"Completely. I've had enough rest. If you continued like this, Amon will have won and that is something I won't allow. I am going to help you and prove that I can be the Avatar that this city needs." said Korra with confidence and determination.
Ahsoka smiled proudly as she saw that her friend had overcome her phase of distrust and was ready to get back into action.
"In that case, let's not waste any more time." said Ahsoka.
"If we go on Naga, we can get there in no time." said Korra.
"Actually, I was thinking of another kind of transportation." said Ahsoka.
"What kind?" asked Korra.
Ahsoka only replied with an amused smile, as it was time to show off her little project.
The city streets were calm and quiet, with people walking around like any other day.
However, that peace was spoiled when a bunch of vehicles began speeding through the streets, filling them with the sounds of screeching tires and police sirens.
The reason for this was that Lin, in a police vehicle, was riding with several police vehicles chasing a couple of huge trucks that were being escorted by Equalist soldiers riding motorcycles.
As one policeman was driving, Lin tried to use her metal rope to knock down a motorcyclist, but he pulled to the side to dodge it.
She then tried to slow down another biker with a dirt wall, but the biker was able to quickly maneuver and avoid it, much to Lin's frustration.
"Hmm. Looks like they've gotten better. Don't let them out of your sight no matter what!" said Lin.
"Roger that, chief." said the police driver as the police vehicles picked up the pace, getting closer and closer to the trucks.
Inside the truck, a window opened in the driver's section connecting to the back, revealing the lieutenant.
"How are things going out there?" asked the lieutenant.
"The police are closing in. It's going to be hard to lose sight of them." said the Equalist soldier.
"Hmm." said the lieutenant thinking of a plan.
"What do we do now, sir?" asked an Equalist soldier who was in the back with him along with some of the cargo they were carrying.
"I think it's about time we show those benders how we use our new toys." said the lieutenant with a smile opening one of the boxes to reveal several blaster pistols.
The police continued their pursuit and Lin kept her eyes focused on the pursued vehicles the whole time, trying to analyze their next move.
It was then that the rear doors of both trucks opened.
At first, she thought they would try to use their bolas or gas canisters to create a diversion and escape, but then, her eyes widened in horror when she saw, in each truck, a pair of Equalist soldiers carrying certain weapons with which they pointed at them.
"Scatter!" shouted Lin just as the Equalist soldiers began shooting at them.
Most of the police vehicles were able to dodge it in time, but a couple of them were riddled with beams and exploded.
Fortunately, the policemen driving them were able to jump out of the vehicle in time.
As the police vehicles moved back and forth to dodge the gunfire, Lin tried to stop them by throwing her metal rope at them, but before it could reach them, a gunshot quickly cut it off, much to her frustration.
Several shots ended up hitting the other vehicles, either in the engine or the wheels, causing them to explode or be rendered useless.
Suddenly, one shot managed to hit the police driver right in the shoulder, causing him to scream in pain and release his hands from the steering wheel in the process, causing the vehicle to turn sharply.
Luckily, Lin was able to grab the steering wheel and stop the vehicle before it could crash.
"Are you okay?" asked Lin.
"Just a little sore, but I'm fine." said the policeman holding his shoulder in pain.
Lin was really frustrated.
She knew those weapons were dangerous from what Ahsoka had said, but she hadn't expected them to be of such magnitude.
She intended to continue the chase to prevent those weapons from falling into the hands of the Equalists, but looking around, she saw that the police vehicles had been destroyed by gunfire and most of her men were wounded, either because they were shot in a non-vital spot or because of the situation with the vehicles.
For a moment, she thought about shouting at the sky for her failure when, suddenly, she heard a strange sound.
It sounded like a motorcycle, but different.
"What's that sound?" asked Lin.
"Woo-hoo!"
That's when she heard a cry of excitement, but the surprising thing was that she recognized that voice.
Suddenly, something rushed past the area where Lin was standing, following the way the trucks went.
Lin could see for a moment what that was, but she didn't credit what she saw.
"WOO-HOO!" shouted Korra excitedly.
She happened to be behind Ahsoka who was riding some sort of motorcycle, but instead of wheels, it was floating on the ground as if it were gliding.
It was a 74-Z speeder bike.
Needless to say, Korra was enjoying the speed they were going at.
"Why didn't you tell me you had one of these?!" asked Korra excitedly.
"I found it yesterday at the raid. I had no intention of using it at the moment, but there was no choice." said Ahsoka.
"Why didn't you want to use it? It's a hoot!" said Korra just as the bike suddenly jerked.
"Because it's not quite repaired yet. I just hope it lasts us long enough to catch up." said Ahsoka.
"Then speed up!" said Korra pointing ahead before Ahsoka increased the bike's speed.
"Oh yeah! Did you see the look on those cops' faces when we blew up their vehicles?" asked one Equalist soldier.
"I'm starting to like these new weapons" said the other Equalist soldier looking at his blaster pistol.
That's when a certain sound reached their ears and they looked through the gap of the open rear doors to see a certain duo of girls riding up on the bike heading their way.
"It's the Avatar and the alien!" exclaimed the Equalist soldier.
"What that thing they're riding on?" asked the other Equalist soldier.
"Never mind that! Shoot!" said the Equalist soldier before they all started shooting.
Fortunately, Ahsoka was able to maneuver perfectly to escape the gunfire.
Korra offered her share of help by blocking some shots with fireballs and rocks.
That's when the bikers approached the back of the trucks.
"Give us one too! We'll try to take them down!" said one biker before the Equalist soldiers handed a pistol to each biker and while operating the bikes with one hand, used the other to shoot towards the two girls who were still trying to dodge the gunfire.
"We're not going to make it in this situation." said Korra.
"Luckily, we have our own." said Ahsoka before pressing a button, causing, from the front of the bike, a plasma beam to shoot out, hitting one of the bikes, causing it to explode and the rider to fly off.
Korra was shocked to discover that this bike was equipped with a weapon.
"You have to teach me how to ride this." said Korra with an excited smile.
"Remind me after we're done." said Ahsoka before she started shooting.
With maneuverability and precision, Ahsoka was able to dodge the enemy gunfire and shoot the bikers, leaving the trucks unprotected.
"Get on one of them! I'll take care of the other!" said Ahsoka.
"Roger that!" said Korra using firebending to propel herself up to stand on the roof of one truck while Ahsoka stayed behind the other.
Ahsoka proceeded to shoot at the truck as the soldiers took cover from her shots before shooting their own weapons.
Ahsoka was managing to dodge the shots, but then, the bike started to miss and stopped, causing a shot to hit the side of the bike, causing smoke to billow out of it.
"Dank Farrik." said Ahsoka.
Seeing that the bike could no longer go any further, she decided to take a Force-driven leap to land on the roof of the truck as the bike slowly slowed to a stop.
Once there, the Equalist soldiers from earlier climbed onto the roof and proceeded to fire.
Reacting quickly, Ahsoka activated her lightsabers and repelled the shots at high speed as she advanced towards them.
When she had them in range, she slashed both guns with her lightsabers and before they could react, Ahsoka pushed them out of the truck with the Force.
She was about to head for the driver's cab when the lieutenant climbed onto the roof.
"We meet again, alien." said the lieutenant.
"It's good to see you too." began Ahsoka sarcastically before noticing his electrified sticks. "I see you have new toys now."
"Yes, but these are better than the last ones." said the lieutenant.
"In that case, let me try them out." said Ahsoka before she ran towards the lieutenant and raised her lightsabers to hit him, but then...
The lieutenant managed to block the lightsabers with his electrified sticks, much to the shock of the togruta who quickly backed away.
"But what...?" asked Ahsoka, as there was almost nothing a lightsabers couldn't cut through.
"Surprised? I had new ones made using a very interesting material. I think it went by the name of… Beskar." said the lieutenant.
Ahsoka's eyes widened in shock.
Beskar was a material that only the mandalorians used to create their armor or some weapons and from experience, she knew it was one of the few metals that resisted both plasma shots with lightsabers.
"How come you have that metal?!" asked Ahsoka demanding answers.
"Do you seriously think you're the only one with resources from beyond the stars? We have someone like that too. You can call him… our benefactor." said the lieutenant.
"Who is this benefactor? How did he get the guns and the beskar?" asked Ahsoka.
"If you want the answers, you'll have to take me down." said the lieutenant activating his electrified sticks before charging towards the togruta, who reacted by doing the same.
The two began a sword duel of sorts, with Ahsoka striking and blocking with her lightsabers while the lieutenant did the same with his new electrified sticks.
Ahsoka had to admit that the lieutenant was almost as good as Grievous and that was with him occasionally using four lightsabers.
It was then that she decided to back up a bit and throw a Force push, causing the lieutenant to back up.
Taking advantage of that, Ahsoka lunged towards him with her lightsabers at the ready, but the lieutenant dodged the attack before hitting her in the stomach with both electrified sticks, throwing a shock that made her scream in pain before the lieutenant kicked her backwards.
Just as Ahsoka was recovering, the lieutenant lunged towards her to try to hit her again with his electrified sticks, but Ahsoka managed to get her lightsabers up in time to block them, engaging the two in a shoving duel.
"Why are you fighting for the benders? They have no place in this world anymore!" the lieutenant said.
"You're wrong. Everyone has their place in the world. You are condemning all benders for the crimes of a few." said Ahsoka.
"I don't care! Thanks to our benefactor, we have enough material to exterminate you all." said the lieutenant.
A moment ago, when Korra got into the truck...
Korra started to walk across the roof with the intention of going to the cockpit, but then, a pair of Equalist soldiers climbed onto the roof and pointed their guns at her before shooting.
Korra quickly moved back and forth to dodge the shots before using earthbending to lift two rocks which she used as a shield against the gunfire.
"Ha. Notice. The mighty Avatar is hiding from us." said an Equalist soldier.
"Those things really are good." said the other Equalist soldier as they continued shooting.
Korra kept dodging the shots, with one coming close to cutting a few strands from her back ponytail.
She knew she couldn't keep this up all the time, she had to do something about these guys and their guns.
That's when she stumbled and fell onto the roof.
Looking down the street ahead, an idea formed in her mind just before she rolled to the side to dodge a shot.
Acting quickly, Korra stood up and used waterbending to make a fire hydrant, nearby where they were going, break and expel the water, drenching the streets and in the next instant, freezing it to create a layer of ice.
As the truck passed through the sheet of ice, it slipped and lurched sharply, causing the Equalist soldiers to stagger, which Korra took advantage of to run at them and knock them down with a fist and a fiery kick.
With one obstacle cleared, Korra made her way to the driver's cab, where she grabbed him and quickly pulled him out before taking the seat herself.
Despite the fact that she didn't know how to drive, she knew about brakes and stepped on it hard, bringing the truck to a stop.
It was then that she saw the other truck pass by her and could briefly see her friend in distress, so, wasting no time, she got out of the truck and used the earthbending to surf across the ground on a rock platform with the intention of reaching the other truck.
"I don't care! Thanks to our benefactor, we have enough material to exterminate you all!" said the lieutenant.
The lieutenant and Ahsoka increased their thrust, remaining in neutral for a few seconds, but then, the lieutenant noticed something incoming and jumped backwards to dodge a fireball.
Soon after, Korra took a leap from her rock platform and landed on the roof of the truck between Ahsoka and the lieutenant.
"That won't happen as long as I'm here!" declared Korra with determination.
"Well, it looks like the Avatar has returned. Maybe I should finish what Amon started." said the lieutenant.
"You're going to have a tough one, kiddo!" said Korra.
The lieutenant charged towards her with his electrified clubs ready to strike, but Korra dodged them before then attacked with fiery kicks that the lieutenant managed to dodge by jumping backwards.
He was about to attack again when Ahsoka jumped towards him and they entered into another sword duel until Ahsoka managed to find an opening and threw a Force push at him that knocked him back, giving Korra the opportunity to hit him with a water whip, knocking him to the ground.
Unfortunately, the lieutenant didn't take long to get up and attacked the Avatar again with her electrified sticks, but she managed to dodge them or block the non-electric part with her arms, though it made her groan from the pain of how hard the sticks were.
Ahsoka tried to attack him from behind, but the lieutenant noticed this and moved quickly to hit her in the side with an electrified stick, giving her an electric shock that made her scream in pain before recoiling.
"Ahsoka!" shouted Korra.
But that did the lieutenant no good as he hit her in the stomach with his other electrified stick, giving her an electric shock that made her scream in pain before recoiling.
Korra looked up to see the lieutenant raising his sticks to hit her again when…
"Korra!" shouted Ahsoka getting her friend's attention. "Catch!" shouted Ahsoka throwing one of her lightsabers, which was off, towards her.
Reacting quickly, Korra managed to grab the lightsaber and activated her green blade which she used to block the attack of the lieutenant who was so surprised that he couldn't react before Korra pushed him away from her.
Soon after, Korra and Ahsoka, each with a lightsaber, charged towards the lieutenant and started a two-on-one fight, with the girls attacking with the lightsabers while the lieutenant tried to fend them both off with his electrified sticks.
Although it was Korra's first time using a lightsaber, she was able to wield it properly for the fight.
With one more shove, the two girls pushed the electrified sticks away and before the lieutenant could counterattack, they both let out a cry of exertion as they punched him hard in the face, breaking his glasses in the process and knocking him off the truck.
"Will he be all right?" asked Korra.
"Probably. Quick, let's stop the truck." said Ahsoka.
Wasting no time, the two went to the driver's cab and after Ahsoka pulled him out, Korra got into the driver's seat and immediately hit the brake, causing the truck to skid across the ground before coming to a complete stop.
"Phew. It's finally over." said Korra with a sigh of relief.
"Yes. I'm glad for that." said Ahsoka sighing in relief as well.
From an alleyway not far from where they were, the lieutenant stayed hidden behind the corner as he watched their plans go down the drain.
"Enjoy this victory, Avatar and alien, for it will be your last." said the lieutenant before walking away.
Later, the police were arresting all the Equalist soldiers and seizing all the cargo from the trucks.
Soon after, Tenzin arrived on the scene.
"Korra, are you all right?" asked Tenzin with concern.
"I'm fine, Tenzin. I feel like I can get back in action." said Korra confidently.
"I'm glad to hear that you have overcome the events of the past." said Tenzin.
"Well, I owe it all to her." began Korra turning her head to look at the togruta. "Thank you for believing in me, Ahsoka."
"You're welcome and let me tell you, you didn't do bad for your first time with a lightsaber." said Ahsoka.
"Well, I use to watch you train every morning and I'm a fast learner." said Korra with a smile.
"Then maybe I should give you lessons on how to handle a lightsaber." said Ahsoka.
"Really?" asked Korra excitedly.
"When you get your own lightsaber." replied Ahsoka with a smile, causing Korra to let out a pout of frustration, much to the togruta's amusement.
It was then that a pair of vehicles appeared to the scene and out of them came Tarrlok and the members of his task force.
"What are you doing here, Tarrlok?" asked Tenzin.
"I have come to take care of those weapons personally." said Tarrlok.
"Of that nothing. Once we gather them, we will destroy them." said Lin.
"You've seen what those weapons can do in the hands of Equalists." began Tarrlok pointing to the policemen who were wounded by the guns. "If they're going to play that way, so are we."
"You can't do that." said Korra.
"Right, those weapons are very dangerous." said Ahsoka.
"I can and I will. Don't worry, we'll make sure we put them to good use. Take it all!" ordered Tarrlok to his men who proceeded to take all the goods.
The others had no choice but to watch as Tarrlok made off with the weapons before leaving.
"I have a bad feeling about this." said Ahsoka.
"Better. You're not the only one." said Lin.
"Whatever's going to happen, I feel like we can handle it together." said Korra giving Ahsoka a smile which she returned.
Later, near dusk, Ahsoka was with another 'project' that was covered with a blanket while Korra, Tenzin and his family were there.
"I still can't believe that among the things you found in that warehouse was that mind-blowing bike." said Korra.
"It was like a stroke of luck." said Jinora.
"Jedi don't believe in luck. We believe it's all down to the Force or fate." said Ahsoka.
"And can we ride?" asked Ikki as she and Meelo smiled excitedly.
"No and for two reasons. You are too young for it and right now it's even more messed up than before." said Ahsoka.
"Oh, cheers." said Meelo in frustration.
"Do you know how to at least repair it?" asked Korra.
"Not quite. I'll take it to Asami tomorrow. Maybe her engineering skills will allow her to be able to repair it better than I would." said Ahsoka.
"Yeah, that makes sense." said Korra a little annoyed by Asami because of her relationship with Mako.
"Ahsoka, why did you really ask us to come here?" asked Tenzin.
"Because… I think I'm done repairing the other 'project' I had here." said Ahsoka coming out from under the blanket.
"What is it?" asked Korra.
"Now you'll see." said Ahsoka before touching a part of the object under the blanket.
Suddenly, a series of strange beeping sounds were heard and then, the object under the blanket began to rise to be taller than anyone in the room.
Needless to say, that scared the others a little.
Suddenly, the object began to shake and the blanket was removed.
That's when everyone saw what the object was.
It looked like a human being, but its entire body was made of black metal.
"Unbelievable. You wake up after years in suspension and the first thing you see is that you've been covered up like an old junk." said the metallic being in a feminine voice, startling all of them except the togruta.
"What is that?" asked Pema.
"That, my dear friends, is a droid." said Ahsoka with a smile.
"A droid? Awesome? It's even more impressive in person." said Jinora with a smile.
"What are you looking at, girl? Do I have something on my face?" asked the droid.
"I never thought I'd see a droid in person." said Tenzin in awe.
"Yes, well no I never thought I would see a human as old as you." said the droid.
"Pff." expressed Korra trying to cover her laughter. "Ha. I'm starting to like this droid."
"Can you tell us your occupation and serial number?" asked Ahsoka.
"I am a KX security droid." said the droid.
"KX? What a boring name." said Meelo.
"I know. We'll call you Kaxey." said Ikki.
"Kaxey?" asked the droid in surprise.
"Hey, I like it. From now on we'll call you Kaxey." said Korra.
"Mmm. Funny. Doesn't bother me. That's fine. You can call me that." said Kaxey.
"I've never seen a droid like you before." said Ahsoka.
"Well, according to my database, I was one of the many prototypes of the new brand of droids with protection orders. However, according to them, I was a bit… different from the others, so they declared me obsolete, shut me down and put me on a ship that would take me to a junk planet. Everything else is a blank." said Kaxey.
"Oh, you poor thing." said Pema.
"Well, Kaxey, you don't have to worry about them anymore. You're on another planet now. You can do whatever you want." said Korra.
"Really? Great!" exclaimed Kaxey before leaving the room. "Since you don't mind me staying, I'll go pick a room."
"Wait, Kaxey." said Ahsoka as she and Korra went to catch up to the droid.
"Great, we have a droid living with us!" exclaimed Meelo with his arms outstretched as he and his sisters followed the droid as well.
"I have a bad feeling about this." commented Tenzin, as he now had to take charge of a droid that was almost like an unruly teenager.
Back in the secret hideout, the lieutenant stepped out of the shadows, only to stop when he saw Amon and the boy.
"Looks like the Avatar is back in action." said Amon.
"That could pose a problem in our plans." said the lieutenant.
"Maybe, but the show you put on has shown the whole city the potential of our weapons. That will make more people want to join us as well as make the benders even more afraid of us." said the boy.
"He's right. With your knowledge and our… other benefactor, I think the time has come for us to move to the next level." said Amon.
AN: Did you like the 'gifts' I added to Korra's world?
It wouldn't be a Star Wars story without a droid included, and why did I choose that droid out of all the ones?
Well, it just came to me, especially with what I have planned for her.
See you in the next chapter, where we'll get back to canon!
