"Wait, why me? Who even are you?" asked Naruto, a look of confusion adorning his features which was understandable by the Lord Second Hokage's regard, he didn't even know who he was.
"You see my face on the Hokage mountain, everyday," said the Second, as Naruto rushed to the window and opened it, his eyes widening before looking back at the Second Hokage.
"G-g-ghost!" shouted Naruto, as the Second looked unimpressed.
"I am no ghost, Uzumaki, I am a reanimation."
"What's a reanimation?" asked Naruto.
"A special form of summoning which can bring back the dead, I will not go into all the details," answered the Second.
"Oh, but wait, why do you want to train me?"
"Simply put, you are my great grandson," answered the Second Hokage.
"oh, okay, wait I'm your great grandson?!" asked Naruto, shocked.
"Yes and put down the volume, now," said the Second, sternly and with command.
"Yes, yes, sir," said Naruto.
"Now then, in the cupboard, are your new clothes, as much as I despise orange I was convinced by Saru to keep it," said Tobirama, with a sigh. Naruto checked into the cupboard to find a dark orange and black jumpsuit, with dark orange and black jacket, with dark orange pants, (think of his part 2 outfit, but with darker orange and colors.)
"What happened to my original jumpsuit?" asked Naruto, with a shocked look.
"I destroyed it," said the Second. Naruto turned to look back at him as the second dared him to challenge his decision.
"Okay, so what now?" asked Naruto.
"First, we are going to work on your basics," said the Second, as Naruto began to groan.
"My basics aren't that bad," said Naruto.
"Do you always want to be reliant of the 9 tails' power or do you want to have your own?" asked the Second as Naruto thought for a second, before nodding.
"Good, the first thing, we will work on is taijutsu, your knowledge and how a shinobi should act, I know you have good survival knowledge, but your knowledge of geography, of the five nations is honestly pathetic," said the Second, without hesitation.
"My skills are that bad?" asked Naruto, shocked.
"I saw the report on the Wave mission, why didn't you attack from the shadows, or tried to sneak up on your opponents, why did you have to anounce you arrival?" asked the Second, looking disappointed "Were you really trying to be a hero?"
Naruto looked embarrassed, he didn't think his actions were that bad.
"Well, how is everyone supposed to know how cool or awesome I am?" asked Naruto, to which Tobirama facepalmed.
"Shinobi aren't supposed to be cool or awesome, they are supposed to be deadly, your friend the Third Hokage doesn't look awesome or cool but could beat your sensei and your friends senseis too, all together," answered the Second, "do you even know that you could have gotten your entire team killed?"
"W-wha, what?!" shouted Naruto, horrified.
"Indeed, if that Haku-brat had been a bit more ruthless, he would've killed you, the Uchiha, Haruno, helped Zabuza with your sensei, and then finished off the bridge builder, if you had used your actually superior stealth skills, you have been able to sneak past Jounin and Chunin, so this should not have been so difficult, you could have used a surprise attack on Haku, but instead you had to rush in."
"Oh," said Naruto, disappointed.
"And that is the first lesson, don't rush into combat, unprepared, or without a plan or unknowing of your enemies abilities, if you do, you will most likely die as you could fall directly into a trap," said Tobirama Senju, as he folded his arms. Naruto knew that the man was truthful and blunt, the man didn't sugarcoat anything.
"Okay, so let's get to training," said Naruto, excited, as he closed the blinds and changed into the clothes, the second had brought him. The second grabbed Naruto, as they suddenly disappeared and reappeared onto the training ground.
"My second lesson to you is to try to never be lacking in knowledge, a good shinobi is a knowledgeable shinobi, they will know their skill levels and their enemy's skill level," said the Second as he pulled out a seal and placed it onto the floor, from it came a pile of books, the books were on geography, the five great ninja villages, the history of the five great ninja villages, the three great ninja wars, politics and bingo books.
"Will I be reading all of this?" asked Naruto, horrified.
"Not you specifically but your shadow clones," said Tobirama as Naruto grew confused.
"Why shadow clones?"
"Shadow clones were originally invented, to be reconnaissance technique as they send the memories back to the user when they dispel but with your reserves they can be used for training," said Tobirama as Naruto nodded.
"So I get back the memories of my shadow clones?" asked Naruto, shocked.
"Indeed, but remember, not to use too many for their memory features, as if you receive too many memories at once, it could cause brain damage, headaches and worse, also to use your shadow clones like this could lead to your ability to analyze a situation, worsening as you were reliant on your clones, allowing your enemies to get the drop on them," explained the inventor of the technique, as Naruto understood, not to use them as a crutch.
"So, when will we start learning awesome techniques?" asked Naruto.
"When I decide that you have learned and matured enough for techniques," answered the Second, as Naruto deflated.
"But how come Sasuke gets to learn all those cool techniques like the fireball and the Chidori?!" asked Naruto, angry.
"The fireball is an Uchiha rite of passage, I care little for what the Uchiha teach their children, but neither you nor him, are mature enough for anything higher than C-rank, like the Chidori, I will be having a word with your sensei on this, among the other topics that he and I are going to be having a word on," explained Tobirama as Naruto nodded.
"Why is maturity so important?" asked Naruto.
"Simply put, a mature shinobi can be playful and fun but mature shinobi are ones who understand their responsibilities, understand what it is to be a shinobi, a mature shinobi understands what technique to use in a situation, mature shinobi are ones who don't rush in or lose their heads," explained the Second, as he remembered his brother, who was most of these things.
"Okay, so what should I do?" asked Naruto, as the Second got pulled from his thoughts.
"Start, by summoning ten shadow clones, to begin reading those books," answered the Second, as Naruto did the hand sign and suddenly ten shadow clones appeared as one grabbed the pile and rushed off to begin reading.
"Now show me, the first kata of the academy style," said Tobirama, as Naruto did and the younger of the Senju brothers instantly saw the problems with Naruto's style of combat, it was too wide and too stiff.
"Alright, it seems no-one corrected your style, so that will be the first thing, we will be working on," said the Second, looking annoyed.
