Writing can be a difficult thing to do even if you're passionate, it takes time, patience, and the willingness to risk making mistakes, I've made plenty of mistakes in the past, not just exclusive to writing, but if you still have that passion left inside...you can do it.
The Saiyan was speechless, he came from a different world this whole time, he wasn't human, Daikon couldn't do more than stand in shock "My parents always told me I was different, but they never told me I was...an Alien...".
Akame herself can believe this story, what she has seen confirms how he could have grown so much, she felt sympathetic for him, but noticed her sister looking much more so, this was a person Kurome spent a lot of her life with.
She stepped forward, the guilt of keeping the truth ate at her "Daikon, about losing your tail...there's something you need to know", the rest of the Jaegers knew where this was going, they allowed her to speak of everything they saw.
"When you looked up at that full moon that one night...y-you transformed into a giant monkey, it took a lot of our strength to calm you down, but the only way to turn you back to normal...w-was to cut off your tail" Kurome spoke with a melancholic tone.
Daikon's back was against a wall, looking at his shaking arm, sweat dripped from his face, all those people yelling at him, calling him a monkey...they were right, "Those people were right...I am a monkey", the black-eyed girl knew that was a sore subject for him, all those insults thrown at him at the time.
Akame would try to comfort him, even knowing very little compared to her own sister "That's not true, you're better than that, I know you are", but it didn't matter much, she wasn't equipped enough to deal with his emotions.
"I could have killed everyone that night, I'm a monster!" Still looking upon his shaking arm, his vision getting blurry as tears covered his eyes, all this was too much to handle, Night Raid was silent, they knew very little.
Kurome stood near him still, not moving away "No, you're still Daikon, if you were a monster, you would have murdered everything in your way", as much as this was true, it still hurts, knowing he isn't human.
Suddenly most of the Jaegers would stand, Bols would speak up "That's true, you aren't a mindless beast, a beast like us humans", the man recalls his violent past, his way of killing people, Humans themselves could be monsters.
Daikon's shaking would somewhat stop, he looks at Kurome with mournful eyes "I'm sorry I attacked all of you, I don't want anything to happen to you", still feeling guilt and regret, he looks down at the floor, the fireplace was at least another source of comfort.
Kurome shakes her head, still determined to help him any way she can "Whatever that giant ape was, it wasn't you, you weren't in control of yourself", the rest of the Jaegers agreed to that, though he would agree, he still struggles with the revelation.
"She's right, she saved your life by cutting off that tail, the fact you're still here is all that matters" Run spoke to him, doing his best to tap into his teacher instincts to help "By all we know, you aren't anything like your people...or even our general".
Cornelia glanced at the floor, she knew this was his possible reaction, and she doesn't blame him "I'm sorry if this was too much to handle, but I thought you would want to know the truth".
"I'll be outside if anyone needs me, I need to think about this" he slowly walks outside, closing the door behind him, the room was quiet, if anything Night Raid felt awkward, they were complete strangers in this.
Akame feels sympathetic, but she understood she is less experience dealing with him compared to her sister "I wish I could help him, but Kurome would be a better option", the red-eyed girl remained in her thoughts for the time being.
"I don't think we can help with this, it's best we leave you guys for the job" Najenda said with honesty, knowing very little of the Jaegers "Head back to your chosen rooms Night Raid", she, Chelsea, even Cornelia would leave, Akame as well, she turns to Kurome, only nodding before leaving.
The Jaegers are left to themselves, Seryu felt like helping, but still knows very little about him, Run would have something to say "Seryu, Bols, we know very little about our spiky haired friend, if anything...Kurome is best suited for the job".
Kurome slowly nodded her head, out of everyone here...she was the closest to him, the black-eyed girl makes her way towards the door, her hand on the doorknob, letting out a nervous sigh before leaving, the rest of the team remained inside.
Bols sat on the couch and rested his shoulders, feeling like he wouldn't be much help in this, Seryu stares at the fireplace with Koro resting on the carpet "I wonder what our general would think if she was alive and saw us like this...".
"Probably assume we're working with Night Raid, while we are right now...we're not sure how long it will last" Run spoke out his thoughts, he looks out a window in contemplation "With how strong this new threat sounds, we're in deep trouble if we don't make it to the city in time".
Outside
Kurome looks around for him, but he didn't take off too far, he stood near a tree with a vast view of the land, Daikon stared into the night horizon, the wind blowing gently against his hair, "Daikon..." she spoke from behind.
He turns to face her, looking surprised to see her "Kurome, you still want to be around me?", she stood next to him, nodding her head, he takes a glance back at the sky, unable to let go of the thought he caused everyone harm.
But his friends were right, things could have ended up way worse, luckily that never happened, if they're going to make any progress...they need to have the confidence to move forward.
The Saiyan boy lets out a sigh, this was one of those times he felt defeated, knowing he was never a human being like everyone else "Like I said, my parents never told me I was from another planet, maybe they were scared of how I'd react".
Kurome crossed her arms, looking back to when she and Akame knew their parents, but after being sold to the empire...it made her sad thinking about it "I don't know my parents very well anymore, and I don't think I want to either, especially after they sold us...".
Daikon would nod, he'd hate it too if he was sold, after witnessing everything with the forest...there was always that sense of dread, Kurome was a little more curious about his side of the coin, she had her hands behind her back "What about your parents, were they good people?".
He responds as best he could "Yeah, I always enjoyed spending time with them, to this day they're still near and dear to me", a contrast between them and the sister's parents, she was glad knowing he had a good connection to them.
Kurome's eyes gazed at the starry night, the atmosphere now felt much calmer thanks to this conversation, she then looked at him once more, noticing him starting to cheer up "I'm sure you had a wonderful life with them, especially your dad".
A vision of his adoptive father gazed down at him from the stars, giving him back his motivation, he would wear a proud grin "I always looked up to his carefree attitude, he was such a cool guy, I wanted to be just like him".
The black-eyed girl could tell that attitude was passed down to Daikon, only making her sadder to see him down in the dumps, she approached him closer and gave a warm embrace, pleasantly surprising him.
"I don't care if you're an alien, you were always there for me at my lowest, I don't know what I would have been like without you..." she says with a blush, hugging him tighter, this much affection felt much more intimate than before, he could feel his heat racing faster.
The spikey haired boy was normally the one to comfort Kurome, now it was the other way around, he rested his hands on her waist "You were always there for me too, making my life less miserable" he spoke with a softer tone, his feelings rising to the surface.
Memories of their childhood came back, she never ran away from him, even after seeing his weird tail, one of the reasons he cherished being around her, she felt the same way, scared of the future, but he kept her smiling.
Daikon ran out of things to say, so did Kurome, they both stared into each other's eyes as the moon shined above them, he could feel her hug becoming tighter but that didn't matter, what surprised him was her face inching closer, her lips touched his while closing her eyes.
He was stunned, but after a couple seconds he closed his eyes too, Kurome's body made him lean against the tree he was next to, they both had these feelings buried inside them, but all the war and tragedies kept them from exploring it, that doesn't matter anymore, they are inseparable.
Afterwards, Kurome pulled back with red cheeks, not knowing what to say, Daikon scratched his head with a giggle, making her smile once more "Let's head back inside, they're probably wondering what happened", Daikon nods in agreement.
The duo makes their way back inside, much more determined than ever, so much has happened in so little time in a single day, but no matter the hardships they face, they shall keep moving forward, the fate of their world rests on their shoulders.
3 days later, the Imperial palace
The emperor was shocked to hear about the deaths of both Esdeath and Budo, on the same day and at the same time, just hearing about that sent chills in the palace throne room.
"This must be a joke, there can be no way the strongest generals in the empire have fallen!" the kid says with a shocked voice, the minister, for the first time, was extremely stunned, not knowing what to say, there's a foe strong enough to kill 2 of the empire's best warriors.
The gluttonous man rests his fingers on his chin, trying to think of a solution, it then dawned on him, they should use a teigu, not just any teigu, a teigu only used by royal blood.
"Your majesty, whoever our new enemy is, they should not be taken lightly..." he would express to his emperor, the kid would hear him out, hoping for a good way to stop this threat, Honest would continue to speak "We must have all our best men guard our inn walls, then awaken your true power".
Some of the men in the room would talk amongst themselves, wondering what he's talking about, the emperor crossed his arms, looking quite nervous about this decision "But doing that would certainly grab their attention, and I don't know if I can do it".
Honest would insist "Your majesty, I know you have great power within you, power that your parents would be proud of, if you show the world your might...you can win the hearts of your people", the bearded man is hoping this will work, to take down any threat to his shadowy corruption.
The Impressionable boy would be swayed by his words, hopping off his throne in a serious matter "You're right minister, I must do what Esdeath cannot, defend the land we hold so dearly!", the crowd would cheer for their emperor.
Though minister Honest would think to himself "If Esdeath is gone, is it safe to assume the same thing happened to the rest of the Jaegers?", this was a possibility...but he would shrug it off, they were sent to deal with Night Raid, so they weren't with their general.
The emperor looked down at his subjects, feeling empowered by their cheering, but he remained serious at this time of need, he doesn't know when he'll show the world the strength of his bloodline, but something must be done.
Meanwhile
Tatsumi heard about what Cornelia was capable of the next day after she arrived, eager to learn new skills and improve as a fighter, he asked her if she could train him, surely enough she accepted, thus he began his training regimen, slowly getting the hang of the basics of ki control.
Today he stood before her with Incursio equipped, he's grown in skill and strength through the days he trained with her, now he was ready to show her his best "Here I come!", he lunged forward with a strong roundhouse kick, his opponent blocked with a smile.
"You've gotten better, but that kick doesn't compare to a punch from our Saiyan ally" she countered with a strong punch to his stomach, launching him forward, but before he could crash into anything, he regained his balance and jumps sideways.
Cornelia was on the offensive, throwing punch after punch towards him, she was glad to see him able to dodge, soon enough he kicks her upwards with both his feet and lands a solid punch, Tatsumi attempted to deliver a knee strike, but she blocks with both arms.
As they trained together, the brown-haired assassin of Night Raid thought to himself "Don't worry bro, I'll get stronger, you'll see", fighting to make his late mentor proud and help Night Raid on their quest for a better government.
Tatsumi strikes her face with his elbow, just then he throws a strong punch, launching her back, she slides on the ground while standing, wiping off a battle scratch from her cheek "I see you learned to use your ki to empower yourself, good".
"You seem to know a lot about this stuff, I you've been training with those other aliens I bet" he'd respond, making an educated guess, she would give him a simple nod, not wanting to bore him with too much info, this would be enough for him to understand.
"Also, remember what I've told you before, you can use your ki to form energy attacks, just like Daikon" Cornelia would further inform him, as a response, Tatsumi powers up with a white aura, extending his arm forward and trying to form a ki blast.
"Please make this work..." he muttered, soon enough, a yellow ki sphere would be formed, making him grin behind his helmet "Alright, I did it!", Cornelia would approve, but was prepared to see him fire it, which he did, she quickly deflected it and fired a blast of her own.
The armored clad warrior catches it with both arms, struggling to keep it from making impact, but after a quick shout he manages to throw it back to her, causing a minor explosion, she was surprised by his quick learning, as far as any human can potentially grow.
Cornelia took a good look at herself, surprised to see herself in this mentor position "I never thought I'd see myself teaching someone, wonder how father would feel", the 2 of them walked towards each other, lightly clashing fists with a smile before continuing their training.
Every member of the alliance was doing their own thing, some people like Seryu tried to keep their distance from the opposing side, but for the most part everyone was doing fine, such was the case for the sisters, now slowly repairing their sibling bond.
"Your skills seem like they haven't changed much sis" Kurome remarks while they sparred with each other with wood swords, she was keeping up very well with Akame thanks to being hardened by her intense training, as well as learning with a clear mind.
The red-eyed sister was pleased with her performance, very happy to see this happen "You've grown so much compared to back then, I'm very proud of you...", now that they don't have to kill each other anymore, Akame can fully compliment her skill.
She swiftly aimed strikes towards Kurome, but the black-eyed girl blocks a couple hits before parrying her last attack, Akame was caught off guard when she lands a strong stomach punch, freezing her in place before being kicked away.
Kurome would show concern for her, running to her side "Are you alright?", she would slowly help her up with a drop of sweat on her face "I'm sorry, I hope I didn't hurt you too much", it was refreshing to be acting like actual sisters for once instead of enemies.
Akame would smile at this, rubbing her own stomach from the injury "It's fine, this just means you've grown so much without me", she was just glad she didn't eat before they trained, it would have made it much worse.
Kurome was relieved she wasn't too hurt, after a minute she tried to express how she felt about their relationship, feeling like her loyalty to the empire cracked it "I'm sorry I never listened to you, that probably means I've been a bad sister".
She felt regret in her loyalty to their government being above her own flesh and blood, Akame responded with her honest thoughts "It's natural for us to make these mistakes, I made very rash decisions too, but I'm glad we even get to be like this again regardless".
After a minute of pure silence, the sisters would hug each other once again, Akame kept her smile and pats her back, Kurome closed her eyes, the regret still inside, her past anger being healed by the red-eyed sister's comforting embrace.
In the distance Daikon was meditating, surrounded by a river as he sat on a flat rock, the gentle sounds of the water kept him tranquil, the calm Saiyan warrior has been searching for an easier way to travel around the empire ever since joining the Jaegers, now he finally has the hang of it.
He soon opened his eyes with an enthusiastic grin "I got it!", he stood up and hopped off the rock, clenching his fists while focusing his energy, he kept his eyes forward, hoping this would pay off in the end, just then...his feet would start to levitate off the ground.
Daikon looks down while he was floating higher, his expression grew much brighter, he'd start to let out a cheerful laugh "I did it, I can fly!", he powers up and flies even higher, catching the nearby team off guard, Kurome was the first to notice him, wearing a hopeful smile.
"He's something special alright" Akame spoke out, remembering his fight against Mera herself, she felt inspired by his actions, wishing she can spread hope to her allies, Kurome agrees, the 2 sisters remained seated on the ground, relaxing as much as they can.
"He can fly now, oh come on!" Tatsumi would remark, feeling like there was yet another wall to overcome, but Cornelia didn't look too surprised, simply admiring this feat, leaving the brown-haired boy to wonder if she could do the same.
As Daikon flew around near the large cabin, he wondered if their enemies could do the same thing, but right now he didn't let that bother him, he happily continued to test out his flying skills, happy to see his skills developing even further.
Everyone's time spent training and interacting with each other has been paying off, little by little they start developing new strategies and techniques, while they prepare, they hope Bliz doesn't start suddenly attacking the capital, though they don't know when or if he'll make his presence known yet.
Bliz's ship
"It's safe to assume she turned her backs on us sir" Cinder says with his back turned, referring to Cornelia and how she could have left them already, the red-skinned man was reading all the data taken by 107, nothing interested him that much.
The tyrant himself remained silent for a moment, this was what he was expecting "I knew it would eventually happen, her eyes told me she was only using us to get stronger", but he would chuckle "But I'd like to see her try to take us on".
His computer screens showed pictures of the capital, a place he will eventually take when he deems it so "We have plenty of time to display our dominance over this planet, so how about we cause some chaos.".
Cinder turns to face his leader, looking determined to take action "You have a job for me my lord?", he's hoping to pay a visit to Cornelia at some point, to show her the error of her ways, he was clenching his fist, already feeling compelled to destroy something.
Bliz would confirm his question "I'd like you to send the humans a message, let them be aware their precious empire will crumble, wipe out a section of their city and spread word of my eventual rule...", he was thrilled to announce himself and cause terror, that his own empire will rise from the ashes of their old one.
"Yes my lord, it will be done" Cinder bowed to him before flying off, after that Bliz had his attention back at his computer screens, looking at all the pictures taken by their assassin, but afterwords the screens showed other ones, he was reflecting on the past.
Frieza was displayed on the largest one, along with pictures of Planet Vegeta, Bliz frowned as he stared at the emperor of the universe, under his breath he threatened him "One day I'll rise above you and show how incompetent you are, Frieza...".
To be continued...
