Zelda Sheikah was the last of a once prominent mage clan. Her family lost standing because they failed to stop a dark sorcerer. It took an average farm boy to stop the reign of tyranny that followed. By the end that normal guy had become a hero of legend. Sadly no one could show the boy how grateful they were. This was because he was found dead beside the corpse of the villain he sought to stop. He was buried with honor while his foe was left for the carrion eaters.
The teenager had a wish she wanted to be granted. So she sought the greatest power mage craft had to offer the holy grail. The last known grail war was in Japan ten years ago. The girl spent a lot of time learning the language and practicing her magic. Once she finally got the servant summoning spell down all that was left was waiting. Fortunately, it didn't take long for the echoes of a new battle to be felt. That was when she set out hoping her practice was enough. Her wish to restore her family honor would come true if it was.
Fuyuki City Emiya residence...
Shiro was good at fixing things. He didn't really understand how, but he could feel problems when he concentrated. His father called it magic. However, being as he just used normal tools he thought of it as a knack. He had to hurry and clean so he could get to school.
Homurahara Academy...
The school was full of talk about the new foreign exchange student. She was blond and carried herself like a classic princess. The boys were going nuts about how beautiful she was. Kane Himuro was a little curious herself. Such uncommon traits could make for a wonderful model to paint.
Then as if summoned the new girl walked thru the halls smiling. Even the girls looked a bit envious of her poise. Many boys approached her and she dealt with them admirably. Not a one felt brushed off as she continued walking after a few polite words were exchanged.
Kane felt drawn to her like many others. However, she was too shy to join the growing crowd. She was going to be popular no doubt about it. Then she adjusted her glasses nervously as she heard Shiro approaching her. If she had time she would have fled to the classroom.
"Hey, Himuro how are you doing today?" The redhead saw her back stiffen as he approached and was concerned. "Didn't mean to sneak up on you like that. The halls are really crowded today huh?"
She turned around in a somewhat robotic fashion then gave a slight bow. "Good morning Emiya-san, don't worry about it. There's a new foreign transfer student that's causing a stir."
"Really, that's good to know thanks. I wonder whose class they'll be in? Oh well, we better hurry before we're late. See you later Himuro." The boy set a brisk pace that came very close to running as the homeroom bell chimed.
Kane tried to answer, but she just wasn't a fast enough talker. She had lost track of time herself because she liked seeing Shiro. Fortunately, her time on the track team made the pace she set training. She left her classmate behind as she slipped inside at the bell.
He was last again looks like he would be in the hall again shortly. The teacher glared as he entered and pointed at his seat. The boy sighed and did as directed.
Soon the instructor introduced a new student. "Class this is Zelda Sheikah." All the students clapped for her with great enthusiasm. The teacher was annoyed, but let it go.
The girl bowed to the class after her introduction. "Thank you all, please treat me well."
Rin Tousaka was aloof to the whole situation. However, at the same time, she was relieved to see another girl take some pressure off. Popularity was more of a curse than a boon in her opinion. At least she could focus on her mage craft studies more easily. However, something about this Sheikah girl made her senses tingle. Time would tell she supposed. The effort it would take to figure that out wasn't worth it right now.
After school Zelda's apartment...
"Finally the summoning circle is finished." She began the ritual immediately with the intention of calling a Sabre class servant. Soon a brown-haired boy about her age appeared.
He had a simple sword sheathed on his back just in front of a shield made of hardened wood. The defensive item oddly looked like it was torn from a tree in one piece. He wore a white tunic that was well made, but clearly peasant class. A reinforced green cloth sleeve rested on his left shoulder that was secured across his chest and back. It was clearly designed to protect his sword arm. There was also an orange sash that covered his waste. His pants were light brown and he wore sandals on his feet. He knelt as the light of magic faded. "Hello master you may call me Rider."
Zelda was mesmerized for a few moments at how cute he was. Then she snapped back to reality as he called himself Rider. Someone else must have already got the Sabre class. "Rider, can you not tell me your true name?"
"I'm sorry master if you wish to know it you must use a command seal. The Caster class can view other servants and masters. My name would reveal my identity thus removing some of my ability to protect you." He awaited her response or forced order.
"Of course your right Rider sorry I asked. Stand up please your my servant, not a slave." Zelda smiled brightly as he stood when asked. His outfit was odd overall, but the power she felt from him proved his worth to her. She quickly raised a magical shield around her home to block others from sensing him. In her eagerness, she had forgotten such an obvious precaution.
Tousaka family home...
Rin's breath caught for a moment. "Sabre!" Suddenly, a tall blonde woman dressed in formal knights garb of blue and gold appeared at her side.
"Yes master, I sensed it too. A new servant has been summoned. Whoever they are their power is immense." The noble-looking lady shook her head sadly.
Rin laughed at her servant's concern. "Don't worry their master just shot a flare in the sky. We may not have to worry about facing them ourselves. Such a careless mistake could be their downfall." Even so, she decided a little more prep work was in order.
Zelda's apartment...
Soon a black-haired man wearing a dark blue outfit appeared. A red spear was held in his skilled hands. He was staring at a high-rise apartment complex from a nearby roof. "In a few more moments I will find you foolish ones!" The anger in his words was unmistakable as he whispered his threat.
