Hello readers, and welcome to my Loud House/Gravity Falls crossover story! I'm a huge fan of Gravity Falls, and my younger brother thinks I'm weird because of it, among other things (in this day and age where normalcy is extremely relative, I take that as a compliment). Fair warning, the characters of both shows have been aged up significantly according to the start dates of each show (2016 for The Loud House and 2012 for Gravity Falls). Enjoy!

Chapter 1

It was the seven-year-old Lily Loud that first pointed out the large U-Haul truck parked across the street, in front of a house that had been abandoned for years before finally being sold. The Loud House wasn't quite as loud now that four of its residents had moved away to begin their own lives, but it was still pretty chaotic at times. As the most level-headed of the remaining children, the now seventeen-year-old Lincoln volunteered to give the new neighbors a warm welcome. With gift basket in hand, he crossed the street and rang the doorbell of the slightly run-down house. After a minute or two, the door was answered by a young woman slightly taller than Lincoln, with pale blond hair in a French braid, lavender eye shadow, and an open-front purple sweater over a lavender maternity dress. Her baby bump was noticeable without being too prominent.

"Good evening, ma'am. My name is Lincoln Loud, and I'd like to welcome you to the neighborhood on the behalf of my family," the teenager recited without missing a beat.

"Nice to meet you, Lincoln. My name is Pacifica. Pacifica Northwest-Pines," the woman replied, shaking his hand with a warm smile. "Mmm, what's that wonderful smell?" she asked, sniffing the air.

"Oh, nothing much. Just some garlic knots and a fresh-out-of-the-oven lasagna," Lincoln said, lifting a corner of the basket's cover so that steam wafted out.

"Ooh, thank you so much! Now my husband doesn't have to phone-order Chinese!"

"Speaking of which, do you folks need any help moving in? My family and I would be happy to lend a hand."

"Honestly, I don't know at this point. Come back in the morning and we'll see."

"Will do. See you tomorrow, Mrs. Pines!"

...

"Who was that, honey?" Mason "Dipper" Pines asked his wife of six months. No longer the scrawny, absurdly sweaty preteen, he'd grown a lot in the ten years since his first summer in Gravity Falls and could now give Manly Dan a run for his money. He wore a red-and-orange plaid flannel shirt over a black T-shirt, denim jeans, and hiking boots. While somewhat faded, his signature blue-and-white cap still rested on his curly brown hair, and he had a small goatee on his chin. Seated beside him on the couch was his sister Mabel, who was dressed in clothes that were very much of the hippie persuasion. She wore a brown leather vest over a tie-dyed sleeveless top, bell-bottom jeans, and cowboy boots. Her brown hair reached the middle of her back, she was a full head shorter than Dipper, and a vibrantly colored blooming vine tattoo began at her shoulder and spiraled down her left arm to the wrist. Rather than having a hippie's laid-back persona, she was as energetic as ever. Sitting on Dipper's lap was his and Pacifica's adopted daughter, Madison. A thin, willowy girl with wispy silver hair that came just past her shoulders, a sleeveless forest-green dress, and bare legs and feet.

"A very considerate neighbor kid came by with a gift basket. I couldn't say no to homemade lasagna," Pacifica said, placing the basket on the coffee table. "And guess what, Maddie? The boy I just met had hair kind of like yours."

The story of how the Pineses came to be in Royal Woods, Michigan, so very far from the Pacific Northwest, is a long one. After celebrating their thirteenth birthday, the twins' return to California would be just as short-lived as their summer vacation, for their parents had fallen victim to a hacker that completely cleaned out their bank accounts. With no other options, the whole family went back up north to Gravity Falls, where they shared lodging with Old Man McGucket at the former Northwest Manor. McGucket taught the twins everything he knew about engineering, and Dipper graduated college at age sixteen with PhDs in Quantum Mechanics and Cryptozoology.

With funding by the fledgling McGucket Labs, Inc., the twins set up their own business as independent paranormal investigators, specializing in locating and deprogramming hidden cults that worshipped a wide variety of Dream Demons, including Bill Cipher himself. Dipper and Pacifica got back in touch and soon fell in love, much to the disdain of Pacifica's parents.

About four years prior to their marriage, Dipper interrupted a cult ritual that would've made young Madison a Dream Demon's host. Upon discovering that the cult members had killed her parents, Dipper took the deeply traumatized girl under his wing. The decision to leave Gravity Falls came after years of Madison's recurring panic attacks and other anxiety symptoms. The only paranormal creature the family brought with them was Madison's pet nanodragon, Sparky, whose snake-like body was currently coiled around his mistress's middle like a belt.

The girl's gaunt, mostly emotionless face cracked a small smile upon seeing the top of the lasagna, where WELCOME NEIGHBORS was spelled out in sauteed bell peppers. After dishing the meal out onto paper plates, the whole Pines family collectively hummed as their mouths exploded with flavor. Even Sparky greedily snapped up a chunk of hamburger from Madison's portion.

Two hours later, they all got ready for bed. It had been a long drive in the cramped U-Haul truck, so they'd only unpacked what they'd need for the night: the couch and coffee table; mattresses, blankets, and pillows; Maddie's medicine and Pacifica's vitamins; and protein bars to satisfy Pacifica's prenatal appetite. Pacifica walked into what would be hers and Dipper's bedroom after finishing her nighttime routine to find her husband already laying down on the bare mattress, with Madison fast asleep, her head laying against his broad chest.

"Hey, honey, before I forget, the kid that gave us the lasagna wanted to know if he and his family could give us a hand with the unpacking. I didn't know what to tell him, so I told him to come back in the morning," she said in a whisper to not disturb her daughter's already-fragile slumber.

"If they wanna help, let 'em help. At the very least, we'll get to know some of the folks around here," Dipper replied. "But right now, let's all get some shuteye."

"Aye aye, Skipper," Pacifica said with a salute. She kissed Dipper's cheek and Madison's forehead before pulling the blanket over all three of them.
