THIRTY ONE - HOLIDAYS
LATE MARCH 1921
Jack and Rose were in bed, they'd had a normal day - Jack went to work, Rose watched the kids, then would cook dinner whilst Jack played with Teddy and Eliza when he got home, they'd bath the children, read a story and put them to bed, spend sometimes catching up on each others days then head to bed.
Rose was sat reading her book, Jack drawing "you know, I was thinking…" he said "hmm?" Rose replied "I think we should go on vaccination" he smiled "Really? Where?" She asked confused "Santa Monica" he nodded "When?" "A few weeks maybe?" "Don't you think the kids are a bit young, Jack?" Jack shrugged in response "come on Rose, we've always said we wanted to go" "yes… to go horse back riding on the beach… ride the roller coaster til we threw up… the kids are far too young for that" she looked confused "we don't have to do those things yet… we could do things the kids could do… but hey, you never know, we might still manage to drink a cheap beer or two" she laughed in response "I mean, if you think we should and the kids will be OK, then why not" she smiled, he kissed her head "that's sorted then" "it's a long journey though, do you think they'll be OK?" She asked "we'll take enough with us to keep them entertained. Teddy will probably just be excited to be on a train" he chucked "true" she replied.
"We'll get a proper plan together tomorrow" she smiled "but right now, I need to go to sleep" she laughed and kissed him "I love you" she turned off her lamp "I love you too" he responded, also turning off his light "you don't need to go to sleep too, carry on drawing if you want" she said "no, it's OK. I'm tired too" he said as he laid down and wrapped his arms around her.

LATE APRIL 1921
Jack woke up the following morning for work. He got changed as quietly as he could so not to not wake Rose. He left her a note before leaving the room quietly;
Rose,
I didn't want to wake you this morning. Have a lovely day. I hope the children behave! See you this evening.
I love you all.
Jack x
He quietly crept in to Teddy's room and kissed his head, picking his bear up off the floor and putting it back beside him. Somehow the bear ended up on the floor every night… he then went in to Eliza's room and kissed his hand and placed it to her head before creeping down the stairs and leaving the house.

Rose woke up first out of herself, Teddy and Eliza, much to her surprise with it being 9am- possibly the latest the children had ever slept. She got up and went in to Teddy's room and shook him gently "Teddy darling, wake up" he groaned and turned his back to her "come on baby, we're going to see Maggie today" "but I'm tireddddd" he whined to which she laughed "I know, but you have to get up. Come on, let's go and wake Eliza up" Teddy rubbed his eyes and shook his head. Rose laughed and tickled him to which he laughed hysterically and saw no other choice but to get up. They went in to Eliza's room where she was also asleep "Lizaaaaa wake uppppp" Teddy said as he climbed to stand over her cot. Rose also shook her gently "come on Missy, time for you to wake up too" Eliza opened her eyes and gave a huge yawn "see, she didn't want to wake up either" Teddy pouted at Rose to which she just laughed. Eliza looked at Teddy first- of course and smiled, then her eyes turned to Rose. Rose held her arms down to her and Eliza reached up. She lifted her out of her cot and kissed her head. "Come on, let's go and get you two some breakfast, and give Benjamin his breakfast too" "yes!" Teddy responded and ran down the stairs. Teddy was still as interested in Benjamin as the day he got him- much to Jack's surprise.

They ate their breakfast then Rose got them ready for Maggie's house. After dropping them off she went home to clean and tidy the house before she packed up their stuff for Santa Monica. They were leaving in a couple of days and still hadn't told Teddy. They knew if they told him he would ask every day when they were going. Jack and Rose planned on telling him tonight.
Jack and Rose had agreed that Jack would collect Teddy and Eliza from Maggie's when he finished work, so Rose didn't feel under too much pressure to have everything done by a certain time.
