Here we go with chapter 18 and I'm glad to be back here. I'm sorry for taking such a long time to come back to this. I've taken some time off during the summer so I could focus on work. While using this chance to work out ideas for my stories, including this one.
So glad they brought back the Bleach series and work on the final arc of the series, the Thousand-Year Blood War. Season one did an amazing job, while I'm also happy with how season two is going. I love how the animation, the fights, & how it's given me so many new ideas. While making sure what I can make this series work in the DC Universe.
Now, last time we saw Trigon's kids showing up and confronting our heroes. In the comics, Trigon has six other children, all boys, and all represent the seven deadly sins. With Raven representing the sin of Pride. So, they're all canon characters, but some of their characteristics will be different from the comic so they can fit with the Teen Titans series.
So, we saw them confronting Raven and her friends. With Beast Boy and Cyborg going up against Jim of Gluttony. Starfire and Robin going up against Jack of Sloth. With Raven and Isamu facing off against Jared of Wrath and James of Greed. How will our heroes do against the sons of Trigon and think they have a chance of beating them?
Or will they need some help to stop them?
Read on to find out and thanks to my friend General Herbison for his help on my crossovers. I appreciate it so much and thanks to my friend who's helped me with my Power Rangers story too. I don't own anything from DC or Bleach, just my OCs. Enjoy the chapter everyone and let's begin.
Chapter XVIII
Jump City
Up in the uptown part of the city, Isamu and Raven were out together when they got word that the civilians around here got into a fight. It didn't involve a small number like two or four people fighting. But rather it was a couple of dozen people getting into a brawl with one another. So, the two went to check in to see what happened and to help break it up, since it appears police, officers were also involved in the fighting.
Thankfully, Isamu managed to knock out the people with a small green substance he kept with him. One that works with those of weak spiritual energy. Allowing him to pass out and hopefully erase their memories of what happened. So, that way they won't remember what they did and can resume their normal lives.
However, the moment they did that, they got attacked by two figures. Both revealed to be not only Trigon's sons, but also Raven's brothers, and both revealing they represent two of the seven deadly sins. The one with the muscular form is Jared, who represents the sin of Wrath, and the one in the business suit, James, represents the sin of Greed. And they had used their powers to cause people to people to turn on one another.
Raven wasn't shocked hearing this, since she had been told by the monks of Azarath that her father's follower tried in the past to have other children become the portal. All ended up being failures, but it seems they still serve a purpose for Trigon and have come to force Raven to become the portal.
But Isamu refuses to let them get away with harming Raven and has now appeared to reveal his true powers. He took Jared out with a punch and sent him flying, before being left with James. Who seems to have gotten excited with the idea of fighting a strong opponent. One who reveals that his sword, his Zanpakutō can transform once he calls on its name.
How when Soul Reaper powers are awakened, they're called Asauchi. A nameless Zanpakutō, who a low-level Soul Reaper trains with every day until they can imprint the essence of their soul into it. It's explained that the Asauchi are Zanpakutō that can become anything depending on the Soul Reaper they're paired with. Once their Asauchi is imprinted with the essence of the user's soul, then they will have created their own personalized Zanpakutō.
"That's a nice little story you gave, but I don't really get what the point of all of it is," said James as he points his own sword towards Isamu. "So, what you're saying is that sword of yours is supposed to be an extension of yourself? Is that it? If so, am I supposed to be worried? Because it doesn't matter what your sword is called, it won't be enough to defeat me."
Isamu soon begins to smile as he grips his Zanpakutō's handle before he releases some of his Spiritual Pressure. "Well, there's more to it than that. See, we don't just imprint the essence of our soul into out Zanpakutō, they're also give themselves their own name."
"Their own name?" Raven asked as she begins sensing something coming from the sword. Something that made her realize it was more than an ordinary sword.
"That's right. And when a Soul Reaper knows the name of their Zanpakutō, then it can change forms and show off its power. Just like I'm going to do right now. Are you ready?" Isamu asked before he moved his weapon up, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath.
"Tsuki no byakurō (Lunar White Wolf)," the moment he spoke those words, his sword began to transform. The sword takes on the form of a long blade with a crescent gold moon guard. The color of the blade appears dark as well, while the handle is dark with white stripes around it.
Raven looked surprised at what she just saw. His sword transformed and she can sense how strong he's gotten. "A-Amazing. So, this is the power of a Soul Reaper."
James begins to chuckle softly as he grips his weapon. "Finally, a worthy opponent. Let's have some fun, Soul Reaper!"
"No!" Jared yells as he can feel his anger raging through his body. "He's mine! I will kill this bastard!" Jared soon charges towards him at full speed as he looks to take him out.
"Isamu! Look out!" Raven screamed when she saw how fast Jared ran towards Isamu.
Isamu sighed softly before he closed his eyes before he swung his sword and unleashes a powerful blue fang shape energy attack from his blade. It hit Jared across the left side of his body, while the rest of the attack flew across the street and sky. Raven looked on in shock from this as she didn't expect to see anything like this.
She knew a Soul Reaper possessed so much power, but never thought they could do anything like this. Maybe…just maybe they have a chance at really beating her father.
Jared fell to his knees and began bleeding as the attack pierced through his body. A deep wound piercing through his body, which didn't make any sense. He's never been cut like this before. Much less ever thought someone would be capable of hurting him like this.
"H-How? Ho-d di-d you d-d-do that?" Jared asked as he looked on in shock, while still angered by what he did.
"Isn't it obvious?" James asked as he walks forward to Jared, who turns to his brother in confusion. "Soul Reapers can use their Zanpakutō for a number of different abilities when they call upon the name of their swords. It's obvious that the moment his sword changed form that it would be capable of more than just slashing."
Even though Isamu didn't explain it all completely, James wasn't a moron. He caught on quickly what else these Zanpakutō can do, especially after witnessing that attack of his, and what it did.
"It makes sense. With how powerful their enemies like Hollows and Quincies are, who too have their own abilities, it only makes sense Soul Reapers would possess their own abilities other than cutting," said James as he begins to chuckle softly and smile. "How fun."
Isamu looks confused by what James said. Despite his wounded brother on his knees right next to him, he didn't seem concerned about this at all.
"I knew you were strong, but I always thought it was because the one father picked out to be his herald was a weak fool. But now I see it's more than that," said James as he now understands why Slade lost so badly. "That fool Slade never stood a chance against you. Even if he had known how strong you were, there would be no way for him to beat you."
James begins to laugh to himself as hie eyes begin glowing brightly and his grip on his weapon begins to shake. "I can see why father called for us to handle you, Soul Reaper. How exciting. Now I can finally show what I'm truly capable of and fight such a worthy opponent," it seems the shaking wasn't from out of fear, but excitement. "I've battled meta-humans before, but none like you. This will be so much fun."
"S-Shut the hell up!" Jared yells out in anger as Raven and Isamu saw him slowly getting to one knee. "Stop talking all this stupid nonsense bullshit. I don't give a fuck about any of that. All I've been told is to kill this son of a bitch and that's what I'll do! He's mine and only mine!"
Isamu had a blank expression on his face as he looks towards Jared and sighed. "Dude, give it up."
"What did you say, you bastard?!" Jared asked as his anger grew from what the Soul Reaper said.
"I said, give it up," Isamu replied as he repeated what he said. "You're badly wounded. You're in no condition to fight and I'm not going to kill someone who can't fight back. So, I suggest you stand down and go home to get healed up. If you want to fight me again, then go and heal."
"Isamu," said Raven who couldn't believe he's telling him to leave and yet didn't seem to have a problem with him doing it.
"Heh," Jared began to laugh as he begins to stand on his feet slowly while still bleeding. "No, Soul Reaper. I won't leave. I won't just walk off and wait till I'm healed. Instead…" his body soon begins to glow as the rage flowing through him began to surge. "I'LL KILL YOU RIGHT HERE AND NOW!"
James scoffed and swung his sword. "Enough," said James as his blade slashes through Jared's neck, severing his head.
Isamu and Raven looked on in shock at what they had just witnessed. Even Jared had a look of shock across his face as he felt his head separated from his body. His body falls forward to the ground, while his head lands beside it. Rolling a little before it stopped. With the face looking directly at James.
"Y-You f-uc-ki-ng ba-st-ard," Jared struggled to speak as he felt his lifeforce leaving him. "W-W-Why?"
"Why? It's simple really," James narrows his eyes at his brother and turns his head to the side. "You're too weak. Father has no place for someone as weak and worthless as you."
James snaps his fingers and soon Jared's head, along with his body are engulfed in flames. The demon of Wrath lets out a loud scream before he turned to dust. The wind soon blew the dust into the air, scattering it to the sky. Leaving behind nothing left of the once former child of Trigon.
"Y-You killed him," said Raven who's never witnessed death before like this, especially that death being someone who was literally family. "How could you kill him?! Why didn't you just teleport him away or knock him out?"
James sighed once more before turning his head to Raven. "Don't make me repeat myself. I said why I did it and there's no other reason than that. He was weak, father tasked me to ensure anyone who fails him perishes, and that's what I did. End of discussion."
Raven never thought her own father would have them do something like this. She knew with Slade it would happen, there's no doubt there. But to someone who is literally one of his own children. He truly is the monster she was always told he is.
"Now that we got rid of the annoying pest, shall we continue, Soul Reaper?" James asked as he decides to continue with their little fight.
Isamu grips his sword and begins emitting his spiritual pressure. Showing he's become angry with what James did.
"Despite what he was and what he did, I don't condone what you did," said Isamu as his eyes begin glowing. "I'm going to make you pay for that, James."
"Is that right? Well, let's see if you can back it up with me, Soul Reaper," said James as he vanishes before appearing behind Isamu.
Before Raven can warn him, James swings his sword to stab Isamu from behind. Isamu though blocks it with his sword, showing his reflexes were fast enough to see James' move. Their blades collide with one another as Isamu pushes James away and swings his weapon upward, causing James to block it with his weapon, but the force of the hit sends him flying into the air.
Isamu soon flies off after him and attacks. Looking to take the fight in the sky than on the ground and away from the buildings. James saw this and smiled before he recovered and charged in. Both Isamu and James soon collide with one another, with their swords hitting each other and sparks begin flying around.
Raven snaps out of it and knows she needs to do something. She's not going to get involved in the fight, obviously. Those two are a lot stronger than her. However, she can make sure they don't cause any damage around the city.
She begins using her magic to call on her spell book and work on creating a barrier around the area. One that she knew would allow Isamu and James to fight around the area. Thankfully those lessons she learned from Hikari helped her create more powerful spells. Like the ones they use when fighting Hollows.
"Isamu, be careful, please," said Raven as she hopes Isamu will win this fight, while wondering something else. "I just hope the others are doing okay too."
Meanwhile
Earlier, Robin and Starfire were out on patrol around the city. Keeping an eye out for any signs of Slade. They didn't know where he was since fighting Isamu, but they knew he was still out there. Waiting to come out and come after their friend Raven.
But with no signs of Slade, the two decided to keep looking around just in case any criminal activity occurred. It was then they got word there were a couple of accidents in the city.
The two heroes head towards the location and indeed find where the car accidents had occurred. It appears to be in the center of the street, where they can see a lot of people on the ground and in their cars. Their vehicles weren't moving, but smoke was emitting from them. So, they went down to check on them to make sure they were okay.
They found they had some bruises, cuts, and some appeared knocked out. However, there wasn't any sign of any serious injuries. They called an ambulance to check on them, while they figured out what happened. They didn't appear to have been drugged, but they knew something was off. When they asked what happened, the people gave what sounds like half-assed responses.
The way they spoke and the way they acted, it almost felt like the people were just being lazy. Something that didn't make any sense at all. Leaving Robin suspects something supernatural is behind this. So, he decides to contact Raven, when they find themselves being confronted by someone claiming to be her brother.
When Robin and Starfire saw his glowing four eyes, they knew he was indeed related to Trigon. And if he's behind whatever happened to the people, then the two heroes must stop him.
Robin throws some Birdarangs at the demon who not only didn't even try moving out of the way but took the hits. Appearing unfazed by the attack. Robin though didn't expect it to and used it as a distraction. Allowing Starfire to fly in and deliver several punches to the demon. The demon took the hits and didn't seem to fight back.
Starfire begins gathering her energy into her hands and fires a direct blast into the gut of the demon. Sending him flying across the street towards an empty bus. She then fires another attack at the demon within the bus, causing it to blow up. Starfire flew down keeping her guard up, since she knew if this demon is as strong as Slade is, then he's likely going to get up soon.
Robin used this chance to call for the police who had just arrived to help evacuate the injured, before he rushed off to join Starfire.
Starfire waits to see where the demon is at but saw nothing. This left her confused since she thought he was stronger than this.
"Starfire!" Starfire turns to see Robin running up to her to make sure everything is okay. "Where is he? Did you beat him?"
"I-I believe I did," said Starfire as she rubs the back of her head. "I had thought he'd be as strong as Slade."
Robin turns to where the demon was sent flying to and narrows his eyes. "No, it's not over yet."
Starfire looked confused till she looked over and gasped when she saw the demon begins to get up. Appearing completely unfazed by the attack. Not even the explosion left a scratch on him. The demon sighed softly as he began cracking his neck and moved his hair back.
"Man, that girlfriend of yours is pretty strong," said the demon as he looks towards the two heroes. "This is such a pain in the ass. I really don't like fighting someone like her, but the old man won't like it if I don't at least try killing you both."
Robin knew this wasn't good and they had to keep their guard up. He knew if this demon was as strong as Slade, then he knew they wouldn't be able to take him down. At least, not without Raven, Hikari, or Isamu. So, he'll need to buy some time.
"First, why don't you tell us who you are, who your brothers are, and what did you do to the people?" Robin asked as he hopes to try gathering intel.
Starfire seems confused by what Robin is doing but catches on quickly and he's trying to get some information out of this demon. Maybe then, they'll be able to find a weakness and take him down together. Or at the very least, wait till the others arrive. So, they can have a better chance at winning.
The demon sighed in annoyance as he rubbed the back of his head. "Really? I didn't come here to answer any questions. That sounds like a pain in the ass," but then again, he was told by James there's no harm in telling their victims who they are.
"Fine, I guess, but please remember everything I tell you. I don't want to repeat myself," said the Demon as he tells them everything. "My name is Jack. I'm one of the seven children of Trigon the Terrible and we're the representations of the seven deadly sins."
"Seven deadly sins?" Starfire asked who seemed confused by what he meant.
"The seven deadly sins are considered in religion beliefs to be things all people should avoid in order to avoid being damned for all eternity in the afterlife," Robin explains that each deadly sin also represent the seven rings of Hell that each represent where a soul goes when they're punished for their sins. "There's Pride, Envy, Greed, Lust, Gluttony, Wrath, and…" it was then Robin turned to where the civilians that they found earlier and their condition.
Robin soon turns towards the demon Jack and grips his hands. "I guess that means you're the sin is Sloth."
Jack begins forming an evil lazy smile before he nods. "That's right. My powers cause my victims to become lazy," he then begins to sigh and rub the back of his head. "While it does sound like a lame power, my brothers have had me use it to help cause people to ignore their duties. Become so lazy that they stop trying to help people, neglect their loved ones, and get people killed."
Starfire gasped from this and became angry. "You monster! Why would you do such a horrible thing? Don't you care how many people you hurt?"
Jack sighed once more and looked up at the night sky with a lazy expression. "Not really. No. In fact, despite my lazy personality, I do enjoy seeing what I do to these people. And in fact, the more I do it, the stronger I get, despite not really being much of a fighter."
Starfire has heard enough and decides to step in. "Well, I will not allow you to get away with this any longer!"
As she goes to fly off after him, Robin grabs her arm and stops her. "No, stop!"
Starfire looks confused and turns to her friend. "But why? He has told us all you wanted to hear, and he needs to stop before he harms more innocent people."
"I know that, but we can't go at him head on like this," said Robin who knew if this guy is as strong as Slade, they'll need to be careful. "We need a plan. And catch him off-guard."
Starfire knew Robin was being cautious, which in this case, she can understand why. Every time they went up against Slade head on, he managed to take them all down. So, if they plan to stop Raven's brother, then they have to play it smart. She calmed down and waited for Robin's cue to make her move.
Robin knew there might be a way for them to take this guy down. But he needs to find out one more thing about him before they can make their move.
"Jack…we have one last question. One that you haven't answered yet," said Robin as he formulates a plan and knows they have one shot at making it work.
"Huh? I thought I did," said Jack as he tries to remember all the guy's questions but seems to have forgotten them. "Man, really? Okay, so what else do you want to know? Make it quick. James will get mad at me if I take too long to kill you both."
"Just one last question," said Robin as he pulls out some cryo-discs he's been working on and shows them to Starfire. He's been working on them to help freeze a powerful meta-human.
At least, long enough for them to hold them till they're locked up. So, he's hoping if they can catch this guy, they can get more information about Slade's whereabouts and his allies.
Star saw the discs and knew Robin had a plan. She didn't need to hear what it was but will know it when Robin makes his move first. Robin will need to time this just right. It doesn't look like Hikari, Isamu, or Raven are here yet, so they'll need to improvise. They'll take this guy down first and then find the others to regroup with.
"If Trigon had all of you, then why didn't any of you become the portal? Why Raven?" Robin asked wondering if Trigon had these other kids, why did Raven become the one person to be his portal.
Jack begins to close his eyes and tries to think of how to answer that, but there was just one problem with that. "To be honest? I really don't know. And I really don't care. Because in the end, the old man got what he wants and that's all that matters."
"I see, well I understand, Starfire…now!" Robin tosses the cryo-discs towards Jack, while Starfire flew into the sky.
The discs hit Jack and begin freezing him. Jack sees this and tries to get freed, but the ice begins slowing his body's response and freezes him completely in place. Keeping him from escaping and keeping him from using his powers. At least, that's what Robin is hoping for.
But already, he can see the ice cracking, showing that perhaps it won't keep him frozen for long. Robin had anticipated this too, so he had Starfire fly to the air. Hoping when she flies down towards Jack to attack him, she'll knock him out. At the speed she's going and with the energy she's gathering, it should work.
Starfire once she got enough energy begins flying down towards the enemy. Looking to take him out. Robin didn't need to tell her the plan to let her know what to do. The two have worked together for so long that she can tell what's going through his mind. And will use this chance he gave her to take this demon down.
She continues her acceleration as her body appears to glow green for all to see. She soon crashes into the demon, creating a powerful explosion that causes a large smoke to cover the entire area. Robin took cover behind a car as small debris are sent flying across the area and even breaks some windows.
Once the debris clears away, he begins coming out from behind the car and walk over. He soon saw Starfire and ran towards her.
"Starfire, are you okay?" Robin asked as he wanted to make sure she wasn't harmed.
Starfire nods in response as she showed she was just covered in dirt but is unharmed. "I'm all right. Just a little bruised, but then again that is the first time I've done anything like that."
"Right, sorry about that," said Robin as he apologized for endangering her like that. "I'm just glad you're okay though and it looks like it worked."
Starfire nods in agreement as she looks down to see the body of Jack, but to her surprise, as the smoke cleared away, he wasn't there. "W-Where did he go? I know I hit him, but he's not here."
Robin looks on shocked as he sees the only thing left is debris from the ice, but she's right. There's no sign of Jack anywhere. There's no way he could have gotten out of the way of the hit. He was sure she got him.
"Where is he? He couldn't have teleported away, right?" Robin asked before sensing something behind him. He took out his bo-staff and swung it, but Jack caught it and stabs Robin in the gut with his claws.
Starfire's eyes widened when she saw Robin being stabbed, causing her to yell out his name. "ROBIN!"
Robin stood there with his eyes widened as he looked down where the claws of the demon had pierced his body. He begins gasping for air as blood begins dripping from his body. Robin has been injured before, but he's never been stabbed. So, this was entirely new for him and could feel his body weakening.
"One down…" Jack kicks Robin away and sends him flying towards Starfire. "One more to go."
Before Starfire knew it, the demon came rushing towards her and looks ready to stab her. But before the demon could stab her in the face, a cloaked hooded figure appeared blocking the demon's attack with a sword. A katana sword that looks awful like a Soul Reaper sword.
Jack and Starfire look surprised by this. For Jack, mostly because this figure didn't look like the Soul Reapers he was told about, and for Starfire, mostly because she didn't recognize this person either.
"What the hell?" Jack asked as he looked confused when he saw who this guy was. You don't look like the Soul Reapers I was told about. So, who are you? Are you a friend or foe?"
The cloaked hooded figure looks up towards him. The figure has a face mask covering the lower part of their nose but shows their fair skin and have blue colored eyes. "Who am I?" the figure spoke with the voice of a girl. "I'm not their friend, but I am your foe."
Soon her body begins glowing brightly as she looks up at Jack, with her eyes glowing as well. "And I'm here, to kill you."
She kicks Jack in the face and sends him flying across the street. Starfire looks shocked by this. She didn't recognize the girl but is thankful she came to save them. Her focus soon turns to Robin as he coughs up blood.
"Robin! Hang on! I'll get you some medical help," said Starfire as she tries to avoid panicking and focus on saving Robin.
"Give him this," another cloaked woman appeared offering Starfire a small vial. "Make sure he drinks it all so his wounds will be healed."
Starfire didn't know who this woman is but didn't seem to hesitate in taking the vial and begins pouring it in Robin's mouth. "T-Thank you so much," she then looks up to the woman seeing her appearance.
Unlike the cloaked hooded one who helped them earlier, this one she could see her appearance. She appears to be a slender and well-endowed woman of average height. She has dark skin, golden irises eyes, and long black hair that is in a ponytail. She also didn't seem to dress like a Soul Reaper like her friend, but she did feel strong.
"W-Who are you" Starfire asked wondering who the woman is. "I-I am grateful for what you both are doing, but…but I would like to know who you two are. Are you…are you both really Soul Reapers?"
"Hmm?" the woman turns to Starfire, before she begins to smile at her. "Well, I can't tell you who my friend here is, since she's not ready for you all to find out, but we both are Soul Reapers. As for my name, well, you can call me Yoruichi, Yoruichi Shihōin. It's nice to finally meet you, Starfire."
Meanwhile
In the park, Cyborg and Beast Boy had arrived at the park where they found the bodies of innocent people on the ground. All with their skins looking pale and prune-like. This left the two heroes confused, until they found the one behind this. It's revealed to be a child of Trigon the Terrible and one of Raven's siblings.
They found out he's the representation of the seven deadly sins, Gluttony, but his name is Jim. Something that Cyborg and Beast Boy didn't take seriously. It turns out though despite his name, he's a lot stronger than they assumed. He not only took a direct hit from Cyborg's Sonicboom attack, but it didn't seem to faze him.
Not only that, but it seems them insulting his body weight and name caused him to rage in anger.
Beast Boy transformed into a rhino and charges at Jim, but not only stopped him with one hand, but then tossed him into the air without any effort. Cyborg charges in and opens fire with another attack. His attacks though didn't seem to do anything like before.
Cyborg looked shocked by this but didn't have time to try anything new as he saw Jim grabbing a tree before tossing it towards him. Cyborg managed to jump out of the way and avoid getting hit. He knew this wasn't good and he'd have to try something new.
"Come on, tin man! Is that the best you got! Are you ready to take back what you and that little green bean called me?!" Jim shouted towards Cyborg as he picked up another tree, looking to toss it.
Cyborg looked over to see where the last tree landed and saw how close it was to the injured civilians. So, he needed to lure him away from the people.
"Yeah, that's not going to happen, chubby," said Cyborg knowing he's going to use his temper to have him focus on him.
Oh, Cyborg's plan worked. Jim lets out a loud angry yell before tossing the tree towards Cyborg. Cyborg moved out of the way and slides across the ground before firing another sonic blast. Aiming it towards his head, which did seem to hurt, until Cyborg saw Jim shrugging it off.
Cyborg begins running away towards the open field, believing he at least has the advantage in speed. Once he got to the center, he turns around and prepares to fire some missiles at him. But when he turned around, he saw Jim wasn't there. Cyborg looks around confused as he wonders where he went.
"W-What the hell? Where did he go?" Cyborg asked as he tries looking around for him.
Before he knew it, Jim appeared behind him as if he teleported there. Cyborg slowly turns his head as Jim begins forming an evil smile and punches him in the face. Cyborg is sent flying across the field before he crashes into a large rock. Cyborg lets out a loud groan as he tries to recover from the hit.
Jim begins walking towards him as Cyborg tries to lift his arm. The moment he did though, Jim suddenly ran towards him with super speed, which caught Cyborg off-guard.
"He can run fast?" Cyborg asked in confusion as Jim grabs him by the throat and lifts him.
"Surprise? Did you think because of my body weight I would be slow?" Jim mocked as he cracks his knuckles. "While its true my brothers and I don't have the same powers as our darling sister, it doesn't mean we need it. Shall I demonstrate it?"
Jim begins proving it as his eyes begin to glow as Cyborg tries punching him to get freed. As he struggles, he begins to feel something is wrong. He can feel himself beginning to weaken and his movement begins getting sloppy. His left eye from his cybernetic side begins alerting him of his body's losing energy.
"You see, each one of us have a unique ability that we've been gifted by our father. Mine is draining the energy of my victims," said Jim as he reveals he's draining Cyborg energy. "It's something I really enjoy. I can't get enough of it. The feeling of watching me drain my victims of their energy until they're all drained fills me with so much power. And yet, no matter how much I drain, I can't get enough of it."
Cyborg knew this wasn't good. While yes, it's true he is part-machine, he can feel his energy being taken from him. If he doesn't do something soon, he'll be drained of power. But he didn't have anything that could help him break free of the demon's grip.
Jim begins laughing as he continues to drain his victim as Cyborg's face begins looking pale and prune. "This'll teach you to make fun of my weight, you stupid freak!"
"Get your hands off him!" Jim turns around and sees Beast Boy transform into a T-Rex and bites down on him, forcing him to drop Cyborg.
Beast Boy begins thrashing Jim around in his mouth before slamming him on the ground. He then transforms into a Brachiosaurus before he begins crushing the demon with his large paws. He keeps on going until finally he stops and transforms back to normal. Beast Boy begins panting heavily as he sees the demon is down.
Beast Boy gasps when he remembers what Jim did to Cyborg. "Cy!" Beast Boy runs back to check on his friend and sees he's panting heavily. "Cyborg! Are you okay? Talk to me."
Cyborg begins coughing as he turns towards his friend and gives him a small nod. "I-I'm a-al-right," said Cyborg as he tries to recover from what happened as his systems show he was down to 45% of energy. "A-Anoth-er minute and I would ha-ve b-een drained."
Beast Boy sighed in relief as he helps his friend up. "Well, he's down now. We should call the others and…"
Suddenly Jim's body begins to move, causing both Beast Boy and Cyborg to hear this. Before they knew it, Jim stood up from the ground and began cracking his neck.
"N-No way. How is he still standing?" Beast Boy asked wondering how he survived getting crushed.
"H-He can absorb energy," said Cyborg as he explains what the other is capable of. "He must have absorbed enough energy from those people and me to withstand anything we give him."
"Ha! Funny enough, that's not it at all" said Jim as he spoke up to the two heroes after overhearing what one of them said. "You think absorbing those weak little humans and you tin man helped me endure what the little green bean did? Not even close."
Jim begins to laugh as he looks towards the two with his eyes glowing brightly "I've been absorbing energy from hundreds of humans for years. To the point that even if your little friends were here, you wouldn't put a scratch on me."
Cyborg and Beast Boy looked on in shocked with what he said. If that's true, then that means…that means they never had a chance of beating him to begin with.
"S-So h-ow do w-we stop him?" Beast Boy asked wondering how they can stop this guy.
"Oh, you two fools. Haven't you figured it out yet?" Jim soon vanished before the two and appeared behind them thanks to his super speed. "You can't."
The two heroes turn their heads as the demon looks down at them with sharp claws extending from both his hands. He soon swings his hand and tries to slash at them, but before he could, a sword appeared, blocking the attack.
Jim, Beast Boy, and Cyborg looked on in surprised as they saw this katana sword not only block the attack, but it's Hikari who did it. She appears in her Soul Reaper black kimono uniform.
"Is that right?" Hikari asked while she begins forming a smirk. "Well then, mind if I give it a try?"
Hikari pushes Jim away from her friends as he staggers back a little but managed to recover his footing. Hikari stood tall with her sword as she stands between the demon and her two friends behind her.
"Hikari? Thank god you showed up," said Cyborg who sighed in relief that backup arrived.
"Sorry about getting here late, Cy," Hikari apologized as she kept her eyes locked on the demon. "When I sensed the strong spiritual presence here, I had to set up a barrier around the area. I didn't want to risk unleashing too much of my power and risk getting the civilians hurt."
"H-How are they? Are they okay?" Beast Boy asked.
"They're fine thanks to you two," said Hikari as she explained to them leading the demon away from the fight allowed the paramedics to arrive to get them to safety. "I just wish I got here a little sooner though. You don't look good, Cy."
"N-Nothing that I haven't felt before," said Cyborg who could feel his strength is slowly returning, but it's going to take time. "Just be careful, this guy can absorb your energy and leave you weakened."
"Is that so?" Hikari asked as she turns to Jim and begins to smile. "Well then, I guess I better go all out then."
Jim looks on staring at the Soul Reaper. He was annoyed she got in his way but got excited with the idea of getting his chance to fight one of the two Soul Reapers.
"Hold on. Don't you want our help?" Beast Boy asked, feeling they should help Hikari somehow.
"Nah. Just stay clear, okay?" Hikari turns her attention to the city as she felt her brother's spiritual pressure. "Because it seems like my brother has begun releasing his power now."
Suddenly, the group saw what looked like a blue bright light emanating from across the city. Even Jim looked a bit surprised by this as he stood there looking confused by what that light.
"What the hell was that? I've never seen anything like that before," said Jim as he begins remembering something. "Hold on. Jared and James are fighting over there. I wonder if they killed the Soul Reaper already," he then begins to groan. "Aww man. I was hoping to get my hands on the Soul Reaper who fought Slade, but instead I got the girl. What a pain in the ass."
"Boy are you fucking stupid," said Hikari as she caught Jim's attention. "You idiot, that attack didn't come from your brothers it came from my brother," she turns to where the light came from and smiles. "He released his Zanpakutō's power and attacked one of the two strong opponents I sensed. Though from the feel of it, it seems now there's only one of them left."
"What are you talking about? What's this Zanpa-something and what do you mean you can only sense what's happening?" Jim shouts in anger as he feels the girl is talking nothing but gibberish.
"Seriously?" Hikari asked looking annoyed with what the other said. "You mean to tell me with the kinds of powers you all have, you can't sense spiritual energy?" She then begins pointing to Cyborg and Beast Boy. "Hell, I've been teaching these guys how to sense spiritual energy and they've been able to get it down."
"Whaaat?" Jim looked over to Cyborg and Beast Boy before he scoffed. "How stupid."
Jim soon vanished and appeared behind Hikari. He swings his attack, but once again, Hikari blocks it with her sword. Jim roars as he tries to grab Hikari, but she vanished before he could grab her.
"What the? Where the hell did, she go?" Jim asked as he looked around wondering if she teleported.
"Right behind you," said Hikari as she had appeared behind him and leaped up to whisper into his ear.
Jim got startled by this and swung his arms to hit her, but she moved so fast she easily avoided his hits. Jim saw this and got angry as he began swinging his arms and claws to try hitting her. But each time she avoids his attacks. She was moving so fast to the point that it was hard for her friends to keep up with what was happening.
"D-Dude, are you seeing this?" Beast Boy asked as he was having trouble keeping up.
"I can't," said Cyborg replied but his robotic eye was able to keep up, but barely.
Hikari was clearly faster than Jim. She was moving so fast that every time Jim swung his arms, she could see it slowly moving towards her. Allowing her to easily avoid the hits with ease. She wasn't even using her sword anymore to block his attacks and was simply just moving out of the way.
Jim's anger grew. He didn't get a single hit and it left him frustrated. He brings his hands up and brings them down with enough force to try shattering his opponent. Instead?
Hikari disappeared again and he shattered the ground. Creating a crater as the demon of Gluttony saw once again, he missed his opponent.
"H-How? How is she this fast? It's impossible!" said Jim as he feels his hands shaking with anger as he looks across the field to see his opponent, standing there without a scratch on her. "This can't be! I've absorbed hundreds of energies from humans over the years. Thousands of them all falling before me! So, why can't I hit you?!"
"You really want to know? It's simple really," Hikari asked as she moved her sword up towards him. "I'm just stronger than you."
"W-What?" Jim asked as he remains confused by what's going on.
"You see, my brother and I have been trained by two of the strongest Soul Reapers in the Soul Society. They taught us everything we needed to learn. How to fight, how to use our Zanpakutō, Kido, and how to sense spiritual pressure," said Hikari as she gives a better explanation of what she said. "That's why we were able to sense where our friends are at, and we can sense how strong someone like you are."
Hikari turns to where the source of the light came from and smiles. "That's why I can sense not only is my brother winning in his fight, but I can sense one of your brothers is dead."
Jim's eyes widened with what the Soul Reaper said, while refusing to believe it. "N-No way. There's no freaking way! There's no way we, the Children of Trigon, could fall to any of you weak mortals! It's not possible, you're lying!"
"Is that right? Perhaps I should show you what we as you call us 'weak mortals', can do then," said Hikari as she begins twirling her sword. "Ignite, Howaito supirichuaru Fokkusu (White Spiritual Fox)," said Hikari as in a flash, Hikari's Zanpakutō is released, leaving behind trails of flames as she twirls it around.
Hikari lifts her sword over her head, summoning a towering inferno of binding white flames from the blade. The bright flames formed themselves into the shape of a feral looking four-legged fox with nine tails. Several streaks of deep crimson appeared as well forming into the beast's eyes and fangs. The fire fox growls softly as Hikari's sword handle turns green with a fox hilt shape and it's with a green scabbard.
Cyborg and Beast Boy look shocked with what they're witnessing. Not only did Hikari's sword transform, but it took the form of this fire fox. They didn't expect this at all, especially since they thought Isamu and Hikari told them everything about their powers. It seems though they've been hiding something more of their powers from them.
Jim on the other hand didn't seem concerned. "What? Just because you made your sword look like that, you think someone you're more powerful. I'LL SHOW YOU FOOLS REAL POWER!"
Jim's body soon begins to glow as he begins to yell. He begins to grow but remains heavy looking. His demonic aura could be seen emitting around his body. Jim's power, that came from his victims, could be seen surging through him as he looks ready to kill the Soul Reaper.
"NOW, DIE!" Jim charges in at her, but the moment he did, Hikari appears behind him.
Jim's eyes begin turning towards her, as Hikari has her eyes closed and lets out a small sigh. "I told you before, you can't beat me no matter how many people you've drained of their energy. I'll still be stronger than you."
Before Jim knew it, Hikari swung her sword, and her fire fox soon charged towards Jim. Jim tries to punch the beast, but instead the flames consume him. Jim screams in pain as he can feel the white flames engulfing him. He tried to escape, but Hikari soon plunged her sword into his chest, unleashing the flames through the inside of the demon.
Jim's screams grew even more until he turned to ash and began to disintegrate into the fire. Hikari soon moves her sword back in its scabbard, causing the fire and fox to disappear.
Cyborg and Beast Boy stood there in complete shock. Not only did they just witness their friend just defeat the demon they had so much trouble beating, but she killed him without putting much effort. Something they were completely surprised by. And she didn't seem to hesitate doing taking him out the way he did.
"That's two down," said Hikari as she looked towards the other side of the city, where Robin and Starfire are at. "I just hope she's ready for the one she's fighting."
That's the end of the chapter and I hope everyone enjoyed how this went. Yeah, looks like both of Raven's brothers are dead. Not good for them, huh? But good for our heroes.
Yeah, so I gave a little bit more of what a Soul Reaper is capable of. Isamu's attacks are a lot like Ichigo's Zanpakutō, except with it resembling more animalistic. Still, this is one of the many different forms and abilities Soul Reapers can do with their sword. And speaking of Soul Reapers, I'm sure you're all surprised I brought Yoruichi.
What kind of role will she play in? Who is the mysterious figure she's with? Is it someone familiar or someone new?
Think whoever it is will stick around to help the Teen Titans? Will we see other Soul Reapers appear? Will we see other Bleach characters appear? And what will happen with the other fights?
Tune in next time to find out. Also, thanks to those who left reviews from the last chapter and have subscribed to the story. I appreciate it and I will work to continue where I left off with this story. And will have it go the way I now want it to go.
Please leave some reviews and let me know what you all thought. Just nothing negative please. Also, thanks to my friends for their help and support. I appreciate it and see you all next time, bye.
