A/N: Apologies for the inconsistent upload schedule. The Sequel for Chapter 2 is gonna be in the next chapter, whenever I find the time to write it and release it.
Gunshots erupted all over the Mansion, as Tappei shot another DEA Agent which tried to charge into the basement, and their lab. Subaru had been shot in his left leg, but he continued firing a machine gun which was pointed at the stairs.
A grenade suddenly flew down the stairs, and the two covered their ears as it exploded. They cut down another wave of DEA Agents trying to storm their lab, but they were running out of ammo. They weren't leaving this lab alive, but they would take as many DEA Agents as possible with them.
How did they get to this position, you may ask? Well, it all happened when…
Night fell on the Village of Irlam, including the Mansion of Margrave Mathers. One by one, the lights in the Mansion soon went silent. Everyone was all asleep, except for one young teenager, cooking in the basement…
"Alright, the last of the Crystal Meth should be done…" Subaru muttered, opening the door of his fridge, sent in by our God and Savior: Tappei Nagatsuki. Taking all of it out, the meth was fully crystalized. With a few strikes from a mallet, it all cracked, and by mushing it all in a mortar and pestle, it became Crystal Meth. 6 bags from this batch alone.
In all, Subaru was storing about 100 bags of Meth, which was all produced last night. Today was to be a delivery to Irlam, and then a delivery to the Capital, after letting Irlam herself and a few other villagers try it yesterday. The new pickup truck (A Subaru Car) that was spawned in was ready. They needed to deliver and sell all of this, and then get back before sunrise.
"Hey, why do we need to sell all of these drugs anyways?" Subaru turned to Tappei, who was putting 50 bags in a box.
"Money, Subaru. This untapped market will make us rich!" Tappei had money signs on his face, which surprised Subaru a little.
"Wait, don't you already have lots of money from writing about people suffering?" Subaru looked at him, and Tappei just sighed.
"I can't convert it to local coins. In which case, we're selling a bag for one Holy Coin." Subaru just nodded, and then smiled as he imagined the amount of gifts he could buy for Emilia…
They finished bringing their Meth from their lab in the basement, up to the truck, and then Tappei sat on the driver seat, while Subaru sat at the truck bed, where he kept watch at the back with a machine gun.
"10k Dollars- I mean 100 Holy Coins, here we come!" Tappei shouted, before letting go of the parking brake, and began the drive to Irlam…
It was midnight, when they finally arrived in Irlam. Tappei stopped the truck in front of the gates, where two guards were stationed, covering their eyes from the truck's headlights. He quickly turned the lights off, and then exited the truck, followed by Subaru hopping off the back.
"State your business!" One of the guards recovered from the light, and then pointed his flimsy spear at Tappei.
"We're delivering the meth. Are they ready to trade?" Tappei just bluntly said, while Subaru made sure the bags weren't damaged in any way, and prepared to offload a box.
"O- Oh. Yes, Sir. They're ready to trade. They're waiting for you at Milde's house." The two guards finally let their guard down, as Subaru carried the box, which bore the 'UNICEF' marking on its side, with the map of Earth and the blue color. Tappei locked their car, and then made the short walk to the center of the village.
Entering the large house, there were 8 people who were waiting for the two. Milde and her younger brother were among the group who were waiting. All eyes turned to the two.
"So… You have it?" Milde was the first to speak up.
"Yes, we have it." Subaru said, putting the blue box on the ground, and opening the box, revealing 50 bags of Crystal Meth. Muraosa looked at the box and its contents, then looked back at the two.
"May we test it first?" Tappei just nodded, and then opened a bag, in which Muraosa just inhaled it, and instantly felt the energy enter him. Milde went to the two with a bag of coins.
"How much for one?"
"One Holy Coin for each bag." The group of 8 smiled, and then gave 30 Holy Coins. Subaru quickly put the bags out of the box, and then Tappei shook hands with Milde, who began to swallow the Crystal Meth. Just as the Meth consuming began, the two quickly ran back to their car, passing by the guards who began running to the Irlam house to join in the Meth party.
"30 coins in a single trip! When we get to Lugnica, we're raising the price to 2 coins!" Tappei exclaimed, and shook hands with Subaru. They got back on the truck, and then began the long trip to Lugnica…
Subaru was snoring in the truck bed, when there was a jolt which woke him up, and hurt his head. Turning to the front, he saw that they were now close to the walls, but they were now going offroad.
"Hey, Mr. Tappei, why are we going offroad?" He shouted, while making sure the boxes of meth didn't fall off the truck.
"Gates are closed. The guards definitely won't buy the 'UNICEF' story, since it doesn't exist here, so we're going through a secret gap in the walls." They slowly went through the forest, and the headlights were soon turned off as they approached the wall. Then, they came to a stop, where a person in a coat was standing.
"Hey, you must be the 'Meath' dealers that they told me to meet." It sounded like the voice of a girl. A certain thief, perhaps…
"Felt? What are you doing here? Where's Reinhard?" Subaru hopped out the back, confused. Felt was also the same, shocked that Subaru had become a dealer of some sort.
"Hey, Big Bro! I didn't know you were dealing with stuff! What are you even selling, anyhow?" Felt just walked towards the car, with Tappei hopping out, and Subaru took out 2 boxes, stacked on top of eachother.
"Uh… rather illegal 'Crystals', per say… So where's the buyer?" Subaru asked, when suddenly, Reinhard and 9 other Royal Knights came out of the gap, with their swords sheathed.
"Hello, we're the buyers- Oh, hey Subaru!" Reinhard waved at him, while the 2 just looked at the 10 knights in confusion.
"...Is this a drug bust?" Tappei just asked, in which Reinhardt suddenly got confused, not knowing what a 'Drog Bost' was.
"Ah, no, we're buying the crystals that we tested, and had energy properties. Everybody's constantly tired on patrol, and coffee prices have spiked recently." One of the older knights said, and they pulled out their money. Tappei rubbed his hands, while Subaru smiled intensely, putting down the boxes and opening them.
"2 Holy Coins for each bag."
"We'll take them all." Reinhard brought out an even bigger bag of Holy Coins, and Subaru just handed all of the drugs to them, which they stored in an endless bag. He took the boxes back into the truck, and Tappei just quickly counted all of the coins and shook hands with the knights, who began testing the Meth.
Felt looked at the coins with starry eyes, and seeing that it was very profitable, she approached the two with a proposition.
"Hey, if I distribute your stuff all over the city, give me a coin every 5 bags I sell. Tappei looked thoughtful, and gave a counteroffer.
"10."
"8."
"15."
"Fine, 15 each bag." Felt sighed in defeat, while the two started driving away.
By the time they returned, the sun was just beginning to rise. They quickly covered their truck with a tarp, and then they divided the money to 85 between themselves.
Over 3 years, with Subaru and Tappei making, and Felt distributing the drugs, their profits started rising. They soon reached millions of Holy Coins. Their drugs spread from Lugnica to every corner of the world. Vollachia. Kararagi. Gusteko. All were flooded by Meth. Anyone else who tried to replicate the process failed, and the leaders of this drug operation were never known. Rumors made of them as a council. One person perhaps, or maybe an entire group as its leader?
The two had gotten so rich, they had to hide their money in a secret vault. Sometimes, Rem, or even Emilia would ask where Subaru was getting so much money. He would simply respond with "I saved with Hone-"
Hellbent on controlling the drug trade, and seeing the effects that the Meth had on the people, the governments soon started cracking down on drugs, but people simply took their business underground.
It soon became a war between the governments and the Nagatsuki Cartel. Unfortunately, they didn't have any methods of detecting the drugs, and so, they called for help from a group in another world… The Drug Enforcement Administration.
And so, slowly but surely, the Nagatsuki Cartel began to fall. The first fall was when Felt was arrested by DEA Agents in a Drug Bust.
3 men were waiting in an abandoned store in the Slums, when the door opened, and Felt entered, wearing her disguise.
"So, you want 10 boxes?" The 3 men nodded in response.
"Where is it? We want to see for ourselves if it's the actual stuff." Felt just nodded and then led them to the front, where a wagon was parked, 2 guards watching the goods. She opened a box and then opened one of the bags, in which one of the men sniffed the meth, and then nodded.
"So, that will be 1000 Holy Coi-" She stated, before a swarm of DEA Agents surrounded them out of nowhere, with the 3 men pulling out their own guns.
"Hands up! On the ground!" Felt found herself in handcuffs, and the two guards were also arrested. They were put in the back of a DEA van, and their drugs were confiscated. They would never be seen again…
In a year, their cartel would go from a global operation, to nothing. Tappei and Subaru still hadn't been caught, and were still going around freely, well, that was when one high ranking person snitched to the DEA, and now, an Agent arrived at the doors of the Mansion.
*knock knock*
Rem opened the door, to see a weirdly dressed person, who was wearing a dark blue uniform, with a vest? Which also bore the word of 'DEA'.
"Excuse me, but who are you?" She asked, rather confused.
"Drug Enforcement Agency. We're here to see someone. Do people named 'Natsuki Subaru' and 'Tappei Nagatsuki' ring in your head?" Rem nodded in response, and then let the agent inside, followed by a squad of agents. Subaru listened to this exchange in the hallway. He ran into the basement, and opened a secret door, where Tappei was busy making a batch of meth, and messed it up.
"Agh! Dammit… Why'd you run in so quickly?" Tappei got rid of the batch and removed his mask, when Subaru ran to him and shook Tappei.
"THE DEA IS HERE TO KILL US!" Tappei had some fear in his eyes, until he had determination, and opened another hidden room, filled with guns and boxes upon boxes of ammo.
And so, we loop around, and the DEA is now preparing to storm the basement with ballistic gear. Low on ammo, out of grenades, and tired from the 3 hour assault, they are not expected to make it out alive.
As the new wave entered the basement, Tappei and Subaru fired on them, and forced them back to the stairs, but while they're distracted, a DEA Agent attached multiple blocks of C4 to the basement's support columns. As they retreat, the C4 explodes, and the entire basement collapses.
For days, they dug through the rubble, only to find no bodies. Only the destroyed lab, and weapons. Cartel leaders 'Subaru Natsuki' and 'Tappei Nagatsuki' are presumed dead, their cartel identities left hidden from the public. The Half-Elf's knight was presumed to be killed while defending the kingdom, and was buried with full honors.
"And that's how me and your uncle created a Meth Empire, and its ultimate downfall." Subaru closed a book, and staring at his Half-Elf and Oni children, they cheered. He just smiled, and a tiny bit of him chuckled when the DEA presumed them dead. Thank god they didn't find that secret escape tunnel.
"Study well, and maybe one day, you might even create your own empire!" The children nodded, and then they left their father's office. Subaru just sighed, and then looked at his bank account under the desk.
"100,000,000,000 Holy Coins. Hopefully, they won't actually spend it on drugs." He muttered, before sleeping in his office…
