Flashback/Memories of the past

Rias Gremory stood on a step and looked at the gate that led to the school grounds. She was just waiting to see a certain person. School was about to start and as in the past few days, the person was about to appear. He always got to school at the same time. There was never even a one-minute deviation. Ever since Rias had him observed, she had noticed this. He did always the same.

He always got to school 4 minutes before class started and was always in the classroom exactly one minute before class started. She wasn't in his class herself, but her familiar watched him all day.

Besides that fact, she had also noticed that he lived quite a way from Kuoh. Where she had him observed in the past, he still lived in central Kuoh. She hadn't made any move to get closer to him because she wanted to watch him first.

But today she would try to get closer to him. There was something about Naruto Uzumaki that she just couldn't ignore. Whether it was his smile or the way he spoke to other students and helped them. There was something about Naruto that she just couldn't ignore.

Naruto noticed right away when he was being watched and since he could feel Rias and even saw her, he also knew who was watching him. He had already wondered when she would approach him. In the last few days she had only let Koneko, Akeno or a bat watch him. But today she seemed different. He could well imagine that she would finally speak to him. His life had gotten a little more action, but he was excited to see how this story would unfold.

Rias Gremory was, after all, the daughter of Sirzechs Lucifer, so it wouldn't get boring when it came to Rias Gremory. He was already thinking of a few things about how he would shape his life in the future. The peaceful life has been nice so far, but now with Raynare and Stella it wouldn't stay that way forever. He had only trained Raynare for 2 days so far, but he could tell a few things about her directly.

She had great potential and an iron will. He also took advantage of the situation and used psychological tricks to ensure that Raynare kept going and trained without complaining. It was necessary for a shinobi to penetrate a target's psyche in order to complete the task.

He is currently using his knowledge and skill in this area to train Raynare and keep her on course. She shouldn't feel so useless again. Of course he still had some work to do with Raynare, but he had already laid the foundation. Now he just had to keep training her and make sure that she wouldn't get certain thoughts anymore.

Stella was another matter again. She came by the day before yesterday and had only visited him to tell him something about that time. At that time he had lent her a cloak, which he had with him as a replacement. Her clothes were shredded by the yōkai and if Naruto hadn't shown up, the yōkai would have raped her. To make her feel better, he gave her his spare cloak, which he always had with him in case of emergencies.

After that she left again because she still had to visit a good friend. However, she wanted to come back today to talk to Naruto about something. He could already imagine what it was about, after all she wanted something from Naruto even then.

He had all of this in mind as he planned his next steps. He would have to prepare and having some comrades wouldn't be bad. He could make Raynare and Stella strong companions. Raynare was currently dependent on him and without him she would not be able to survive right now. Her psyche was just too unstable for that and the more he helped her, the more her affection for him would increase. He knew very well that sooner or later Raynare would develop certain emotions. It was all a natural process that was unavoidable in her particular case.

Naruto walked into the building and pretended not to notice Rias' eyes. He just smiled like usual and headed towards his classroom. As usual, he reached his classroom exactly one minute before class began and sat down in his seat.

The teacher came into class a minute after him and started the class. Naruto looked out the window and saw the bat that had always been watching him. He looked back at the teacher as he wrote something on the blackboard. ,I am excited.' thought Naruto.

"How was that, Lars?"

"Valga was killed and Stella Vermillion is still alive, Leohart-sama," Lars said. He was the devil that Stella had offered to become the devil. You couldn't see his face because he was wearing a white mask.

"By whom?"

Lars raised his head and looked his master straight in the face. "By a human."

"A human is said to have killed Valga?" Lars's master asked this in astonishment. Valga was a strong servant of his and not many could match him. He might have been a bit arrogant, but he also had the strength to enforce his arrogance.

"Yes. I haven't found out anything specific yet, but all clues point in the direction of Shadow." Lars said.

Leohart's eyes widened when he heard that cursed name. The name of the unknown human who had already killed countless supernatural creatures and no one could find out who Shadow exactly was.

Shadow was a myth and just hearing the name created a tension in the air. No matter where Shadow went, he left nothing but death and destruction in his wake. He was like a shadow that could appear and disappear out of nowhere. So far no one has been able to kill him, although many have tried. Nor was it clear what he was. Many thought he was a devil. But now it was assumed that he was human. He showed no signs of being a supernatural being.

The last time he showed up was in Kyoto. Back then, a group of yōkai tried to take control of Kyoto. Throughout the battles he appeared and slaughtered everything that came in his way. No matter who stood in front of him, no one had stood a chance. His black clothes and white mask still terrified the people who were there at the time. He was like a deadly shadow that couldn't be hit and slaughtered everything.

Leohart stood up and approached Lars. Lars just kept kneeling in front of his master and said nothing. Leohart stopped 2 meters in front of Lars . Leohart was a tall young man with tanned skin, purple hair, and blue eyes. He wore a bulky black armor with a purple cape. He also had large purple wings .

"Lars, I have a new mission for you." Leohart said. Lars was his best spy and he was also one of his strongest servants. If not the strongest. That was the reason why he would now send Lars on this mission.

"Go to Kuoh and spy there. I want to know what Sirzechs' little sister and Sitri's daughter are doing. If Shadow is still in Kuoh, you'll find out sooner or later." Leohart said.

"As you command, master." Lars said and lowered his head.

Lars appeared from a purple portal and looked around. He was in a forest outside of Kuoh and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. But he knew exactly. Even the barrier that was built around the forest was not a normal barrier. Such a barrier could not be created with normal magic.

Lars had seen this barrier before and so far no one had managed to break through this barrier. Only the user could break the barrier if they wanted to. He could only get into this barrier because he was allowed to.

Lars looked behind him when he heard something. His eyes widened briefly behind his mask before returning to normal. He would probably never be able to switch off this feeling. It was always like that when he first saw him after a while. His bloodlust was out of this world.

He turned and looked at the person standing 5 meters away from him. As usual, he could see the white fox mask and the black cloak that covered everything but his mask and feet. In front of him stood Shadow, one of the most feared creatures that currently exist.

"What do you want, Lars?" asked Shadow. His voice was as deep and menacing as usual. Lars could make out a red shimmer behind Shadow's mask and hear a slight growl in his thoughts.

Lars had to grin a little nervously behind his mask as some sweat appeared on his body from the feeling. He was a strong devil and yet it was never easy to endure this bloodlust. Even for a devil like Lars.

"I wanted to inform you about the situation. Starting next month, I will be coming to Kuoh to spy on Rias Gremory and Sona Sitri. I know you killed Valga and saved Stella Vermillion. I just want to inform you so that there are no misunderstandings."

Shadow remained silent and said nothing. He just looked at Lars and seemed to process his information. Lars didn't dare say anything else or move. Though the sun was illuminating the land, the forest seemed momentarily shrouded in some kind of darkness. Lars could hardly see Lars Shadow, where he was standing at the moment.

He knew where he was and he could see him too, but he couldn't sense his aura, he couldn't feel it. It really was like he was talking to a shadow. He always lived up to his name.

"You should know that I already know about that." Shadow said. "Why did you want to meet?"

"I wanted to ask you a favor and hire you for a job." Lars said. He knew full well that Shadow already knew about everything. It would have surprised him if he didn't know yet. He didn't know how Shadow did it. But he always knew everything that was going on around him.

"You want to hire me?" asked Shadow. He seemed a bit surprised and Lars noticed that. "Yes, I need your help. In order for me to continue doing my other job, a certain person would have to come to Kuoh as well."

"What kind of person?" asked Shadow.

"She's Rias Gremory's cousin. Her name is Mio Gremory, daughter of Wilbert Gremory. She is currently living in Tokyo with her peerage." Lars said.

"Mio Gremory, daughter of Wilbert Gremory and Reyna Gremory. Better known as the Gravity Princess. She is the direct rival of Rias Gremory, also known as the Ruin Princess." Shadow said.

"I don't have time for that at the moment. You'll have to wait a month if you want to use my services." Shadow said.

"I don't really have that much time." Lars said. After all, he should start spying in Kuoh in 2 weeks.

"That's not my problem." Shadow said. "If you want my services, you'll have to wait."

Lars hesitated to say anything. "What else?" asked Shadow. Lars shook his head and said "No. That's all. Thank you for meeting me."

Shadow said nothing and disappeared into the shade of a tree and at the same time the barrier disappeared. Lars sighed once and looked to where Shadow had disappeared. It was always an intense experience talking to him face to face.

Naruto appeared in the shade of a tree and waited for his shadow clone to come to him. It was momentary breaktime and Naruto was glad his meeting with Lars hadn't lasted so long. He had known Lars for a few years and this meeting could have lasted much longer.

As usual, Lars was cautious in his presence. He had built a certain reputation during his active days as a shinobi, especially with devils and yōkai. Fallen angels and angels weren't so careful with him. This was largely because his targets were mostly devils or yōkai.

Naruto's shadow clone disappeared into its shadow and became part of Naruto's shadow again. Naruto sat in front of the tree and pulled out a black book. Since the matter with Lars had been clarified for the time being, it was now time to wait. A certain person should come to him in the next 5 minutes.

Naruto smiled while his school clothes shifted slightly in the breeze. His blue eyes moved from left to right as he read the lines in the book. He didn't even need to keep count to know how much time had passed.

After exactly 3 minutes he heard footsteps and the sun revealed the number 1 beauty in the school. Many wanted something from her and many more did not dare to approach her. Naruto pretended not to notice her and just continued reading his book. In that second he only heard the footsteps in the distance with his keen sense of hearing. It would be a few more seconds before the beauty would appear in front of him.

"Uzumaki-san?" asked a female voice. Naruto looked up and met the red beauty's eyes, which made all the boys' heads turn. The Superwoman alongside Akeno Himejima. But Naruto was not impressed by her beauty. As a shinobi, he was also trained to resist certain tactics, and resisting the female sex was one of those things. After all, he should be able to kill his target, male or female.

Of course, seduction has always been a dangerous business for a man. Many strong men, whether devil, human, yōkai, fallen angel or angel, have fallen victim to a woman who first seduced the man and then murdered him.

"Hello Gremory-san." Naruto said with a smile.

Rias smiled as well, making everyone's cheeks flush, but it didn't have an effect on Naruto, as he simply smiles without a change in his facial impression. "Are you here often?" asked Rias. After all, he was back at the exact same tree, which wasn't far from the old school building.

"Every break." Naruto said. "You should know that by now, Gremory-san. After all, you always watch me from the window over there." He gestured with his free hand toward the club room on the second floor of the old school building.

Rias looked at the building and then back at Naruto. She already knew, of course, that he couldn't be a normal person. This situation confirmed her suspicion once again. No one would notice her just like that, but Naruto did. She had been watching him with some magic during the break. She wasn't standing openly at the window like in the one break when she had watched him openly.

"You seem to have good eyesight." Rias said.

Naruto looked her straight in the eyes while resting his hand on his leg with a carefree smile. "I don't just have good eyesight." Naruto said.

"Hmm? What else do you have?" Rias asked interested.

"I can hear well." Naruto said, jerking a thumb behind him. Rias looked in the direction he was pointing and caught a glimpse of a cat disappearing behind a bush.

"What else?" asked Rias.

"It would be boring if I gave away all my secrets just like that, wouldn't it?" Naruto asked.

"You're right." Rias said. "I'd like to invite you to come with me." She smiled and cupped a hand to her left ear, keeping her hair out of her face in the wind.

"How could I refuse this invitation?" Naruto asked, his book disappearing in a puff of smoke. Rias's eyes widened briefly as she saw his book just disappear in a puff of smoke. Naruto stood up without a care and looked at her with a smile.

"Shall we?" Naruto asked.

Rias first looked at his hand and then at him. She looked into his blue eyes, which sparkled in a certain way. She wasn't sure what it was, but she thought he was going to challenge her. She got a certain smile she hadn't had in a long time. As a devil she had her pride and she wasn't going to lose that easily.

"Then follow me, Naruto Uzumaki." Rias said and walked past him. She smiled at him as their eyes met. He showed no reaction to that smile and just walked after her with a smile he hadn't had in a while.

'This will be interesting.' thought Naruto. He'd had few opportunities to push his side where he was teasing and testing others. When he was younger and before he started training, he used to pull pranks on others and was quickly crowned the prank king by others.

Maybe he could play with Rias a bit before he got to the serious part with her. From the looks of it, she didn't seem to mind the challenge. She had tried several times during the conversation to use her beauty to get a certain reaction from him. However, as a shinobi, he was immune to such methods. Of course Naruto knew that Rias Gremory, Akeno Himejima, Stella Vermillion and Raynare were all beauties and he would never deny it. But unlike other men his age, he didn't let the beauty blind him and influence his judgement.

A lot of men couldn't think straight when they stood in front of a beautiful woman and became shy or something like that. That was a natural phenomenon for a man. Few men could control themselves when faced with a beautiful woman.
