Hi Readers: Sorry about how short that last chapter was. But, I decided that I wanted to do something else for a bit. Something to get this story moving as it will allow me to do multiple things at once. First, it will allow me to let some time past in the current story timeline; while at the same time, it can give you some background on when Matt proposed (which has changed since Chapter 1, a fact that you will be able to notice now). I'm sorry ahead of time for any of the changes in the future and I hope to keep the story as consistent as possible. Now, what do you say that we give you some background on our couple.

Chapter Nine: Flashback

Hawaii Babymoon and Engagement, Part One: Pre-Beach Day

Saturday, September 1, 2012 – Kailua, Hawaii
She never thought this day would come. A day where she would wake up as the future Ms. Matthew Casey, but that's precisely what Alex is now as she awoke on this; the first day of September in the year Two Thousand and Twelve, as well as the first day of the rest of her life with the handsome Matthew James Casey. However, she also knew that there would be some challenges ahead of them, such as him having to still get out of his previous engagement. One which is very toxic and has no love left in it, which is the entire reason why Alex was more than okay with saying yes; yes to the man she loves, when he asked her on bended knee whether she would agree to marry him before he ended his previous engagement. And her answer, well he already knew it; it was always going to be yes, as she loves him more than anything in the entire world. And that was why she was more than okay with them being engaged in private and nothing more, due to the fact that the hunk of a man whom she was currently naked under the sheets with is the love of her life, as well as the father of her child. But no, she isn't pregnant; instead, her best friend is acting as their surrogate to keep it private.

And that was more than okay with her, simply due to the fact that she's very happy in her relationship with Matt; and she most certainly isn't missing the idea of being pregnant when it allows her to travel with the man she loves. The man she's now proud to be engaged to. The man who is very sexy and muscular as they cuddled up to each other here in the comfort of the bed of their home in Hawaii, a home which he promised her he's never shared with his ex-Hallie. He just hope that stays the case until after he breaks up with her, something he already promised her; and decided to promise her once more as he woke up and pressed his lips to her forehead. "I promise, it's going to happen before our little one's born." Laughing, Alex agreed with Matt as she already knew that was the case. She already knew that Matt was going to break up with Hallie before their baby is born or else there's going to be hell to pay, which she decided to tell him as she slipped up his chest and stared down into Matt's beautiful eyes. The eyes that she loves to stare into whenever she wakes up in his arms. After which, she bent down and proceeded to kiss him softly. "I know babe." Matt agreed.

After which, he listened Alex threaten him. "Or else I tell her myself and she breaks up with you." Matt agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was something that Alex most certainly would and could do. She could go to his current fiancé and tell her everything, which would lead to her breaking up with him. "You wouldn't dare." Alex smiled as she heard Matt say that, before bending down so that she could kiss the man she loves more than anything in the entire world; while he placed his hand on the side of her face and just started to take things nice and slow with Matt, which is exactly what she wants to do. She wants to take things nice and slow with the man of her dreams, which most certainly does include sex with him and just going out and having fun with each other…something that they both want to do more than anything in the entire world, just after they have a bit of intimate time with each other first. "I want you babe." Matt agreed with Alex as she told him that she wants him, before deciding to roll over on top of the woman he loves. He then proceeded to do so as he wanted her more than anything in the entire world.

Meanwhile, Alex placed her hand on his face as she started to take things nice and slow with the man of her dreams. The only man that she can really ever see herself loving, which is why she's more than okay with the two of them getting engaged so soon; I mean, not that she thinks it's really that soon due to the fact that they are madly in love with each other. And when she says in love with each other, she truly means that as she loves Matt with all her heart. She just wants to be with him for the rest of her life, and that's precisely what Matt promised her when he asked her to marry him on the beach yesterday; ahead of the two of them making love to each other the night before, just like they are right now as Matt grabbed her hand, intertwined their fingers, and pressed it down onto their bed as a way to ensure that she stays right where she is. Not that she wants to go anywhere other than here at the moment due to the fact that she absolutely loves the feeling of her hunk of a fiancé making sweet love to her as they celebrate the fact that they are now engaged to be married. And someday, she will be his wife; something that she's more than happy about as she loves Matt.

She loves Matt so much, that she's okay with them hiding their relationship just so that he can end things right with his (soon-top-be ex) fiancé, before they start a public relationship with each other ahead of them welcoming their child into the world; a child whose gender she finally knows thanks to her best friend. In fact, she was going to tell him last night; but they ended up getting a bit busy. "God, I love you so much." Matt smiled as he let go of Alex's hand, before moving one of his hands to her neck so that he could go back to kissing her; that was, until Alex continued to speak. "And I love you, the future father of our son." Matt was shocked as he heard Alex say that. "Sorry, but did you just say that we're having a son?" Alex smiled as Matt asked her whether they were having a son, as they most certainly are having a son. "That we are baby." Matt smiled as he heard Alex say that, before bending down so that he can kiss the woman he loves once more. "God, I love you so much." Alex agreed with Matt, well aware that was the case.

I mean, what woman doesn't know that her future husband loves her more than anything in the entire world? It's so obvious that Matt loves her, which is precisely why she said yes to his proposal. "Why do you think I said yes to your proposal baby? Because I know that you love me and only me." Matt agreed with Alex, as that most certainly is the truth. He loves her more than anything and is incredibly proud of the fact that they are engaged to be married now. But even better, he loves the fact that they are going to have a bunch of fun with each other. "Want to celebrate the fact that we're engaged again?" Alex smirked, as that was precisely what she wanted. She wanted to feel the man she loves make love to her, as they celebrate the fact that they are engaged and are getting married in the future; something that she wants more than anything in the entire world. To be his one and only, his future wife.

He woke up naked, alone and in bed without his fiancé the second time around this morning, which he most certainly does not enjoy, especially not after he just made love to her to celebrate their engagement. Well, that, and the fact that they're having a son in a couple months. God, just the idea of them having a son still blows his mind, while also making him quite happy as he's always wanted to be a father. And thanks to his gorgeous fiancé and her best friend, that's precisely what Matt's going to be. He's going to be a father to a beautiful baby boy in less than four months, which is something that still blows his mind; that his dream will finally come true in just a bit more than 100 days. He just hopes that he and Alex are officially together by then, due to the fact that he hates waking up without the woman he truly loves. In fact, this engagement is all he needs to know that he needs to be with her more than ever. And he's already determined to break up with Hallie next week. But for now, they are just going to concentrate on each other.

Concentrate on the fact that he's finally engaged to the most beautiful woman in the entire world, whom he truly loves and can't wait to raise a family with. Because that's precisely what he and Alex are ready to do with each other. They're ready to raise a family with each other and are in fact expecting their first child already; but now, he doesn't want to think of that when he instead wants to take a shower with that gorgeous future wife of his. The woman who was currently naked in their shower, and very much making him want her. So, he decided that he was going to get what he wants; and what he wants is her in his arms, now and forever. So, while walking over to the shower this morning, he made sure to take off his towel before hanging folding it and setting it on the counter next to hers. And thanks to them not having an enclosure around the shower, it meant that Matt didn't even need to waste time. He can literally just walk up to the woman he loves and place his hands on her hips as his way to tell her that he's here, which is exactly what he did (amongst other things); as he also had a message for the woman he loves, which he just had to share with her.

But he did so in the sexiest way possibly, by whispering it in her ear after tugging her body back against his chest. "You know how much I hate it when I wake up naked and alone in bed babe." Snickering as she heard Matt say that, Alex agreed as she most certainly did know just how much he hated waking up naked and alone in bed; especially without her when they're together. "Sorry, but I was starting to get a bit restless." Matt agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was the case as he wrapped his arms around her and put his hands on her body. After which, he proceeded to bend down and left a soft kiss on her shoulder as a way to tease the woman he loves. "God, I love it when you do that babe." Matt agreed with Alex as she said that, before watching as she turned around to face him. After which, she stepped close to him; while Matt placed his hand on her neck and leaned in to kiss the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you." Wrapping her arms around Matt's back, Alex agreed as she loves him too. "I love you too Matt, forever." Matt smirked as he placed his hands on her hips as they took things nice and slow with each other right now.

He took things nice and slow with his future wife, his only future; the mother of his child, and the woman he can truly call the woman of his life. "I hope you know that you're the love of my life." Alex agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. "I can tell that's the case based on the way that you proposed to me." Matt agreed with Alex as she said that, smiling as they both started to take things nice and slow with the woman of his dreams. The woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "I want to go to the beach today, spend some time with you in a bikini as I get a good surf in." Alex agreed with Matt as he said that, as that most certainly is something that she wants as well. "Just as long as you wear a tight wet suit. One that shows off your assets down there." Matt smirked as he placed his hand on Alex's neck, before taking things nice and slow with the woman of his dreams; the only woman he can really see himself having a future with. And that's precisely why they're engaged and holding each other close right now. Oh, and having a bunch of fun with each other; including having a bit of sex with each other here in the shower of their home.

Walking out of the washroom wearing his tight boxers (which he was going to wear under his wet suit), Matt smirked as he looked at Alex; the woman who owns his heart and will one day be his wife and the mother of their child. But there was a reason why he was currently looking at her, and it was due to the fact that she looked very sexy right now as she was just wearing her bikini bottom as she struggled with her bra. And that's where he comes in, where he can help the woman he loves get dressed. "Need some help?" Turning her head, Alex smiled as she looked at the man she loves; while Matt made his way over to her so that he could help her out. So that he could help her with her bra, which is precisely what Alex wants anyways. She wants him to grab her bra and put it on for her. So, that's precisely what Matt's going to do; he's going to grab her bra and put it on for her. "Here, let me help you babe." Alex agreed with Matt as she stood at the end of their bed, while waiting for him to walk up to her, which is precisely what he did, before placing tugging her body against his chest. Meanwhile, Alex put her hands on his toned chest as she cuddled up to the man of her dreams.

Moving his hand on her neck, Matt smiled as he leaned in and proceeded to take things nice and slow with the woman of his dreams. "So, what do you say me, and you get dressed if you want to head to the beach?" Alex agreed with Matt, as that's precisely what she wants to do. She wants to go to the beach with her fiancé. "Are you going to surf? Or are you going to take a swim with me?" Matt smiled. "I was thinking of doing both. We both know that you want to do a bit of tanning first…" Walking up to his closet, Matt opened it before reaching in and going to grab one of his wet suits, while also continuing to speak to his future wife. "…so, I thought I'd do some surfing while you do that." Turning to face her, Matt smiled as he made his way back over to his and Alex's bed before setting his wet suit down; after which, he walked over to his dresser so that he can put some deodorant on. "And then, when you're done; we can tie up the dogs and then get in the ocean together. Unless you want to swim first?" Alex smiled at the man of her dreams.

After all, she does love the idea of them swimming first. "We could swim first, before the beach gets too busy so that we don't scar any children when we do something I want to do." Confused as he opened his dresser to grab some swim trunks, Matt turned his head and looked at the woman he loves. "What are you talking about?" Smirking, Alex made her way over to the man she loves at his dresser before placing her hands on his chest; after which, Matt turned to face her and stepped close to her. He then placed his hands on her hips and smiled as he got close to her. "Well, I was thinking about what I've always wanted to do in the ocean with the man I love." Matt agreed with Alex as he placed his hands on her back before kissing her softly. "And that includes us being naked." Matt smirked due to the fact that he absolutely loves that idea. He loves the idea of them taking things nice and slow with each other, as they make sweet, passionate love with each other in the ocean. "I am so glad that we're engaged." Alex agreed with Matt, smiling at him.

She then proceeded to wrap her arms around his neck and just smirked due to the fact that this is exactly what they both want to do, they both want to hold each other close and take it easy with each other; both out and in the ocean. "So, when are we going to the beach?" Matt smirked as Alex asked him that question. "Last time I checked, we need to do something first." Alex agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case; they need to have breakfast with each other. Or, they can go have breakfast at the beach. "Well, we could always go have breakfast on the beach." Alex agreed with Matt, as that was exactly what she wanted. "I love the sound of that." Matt agreed, smirking as he made his way back over to his wet suit; after which, he proceeded to grab it so that he can put it on ahead of their day at the beach. A sexy day at the beach with some fun, which they're going to do first; and is why he can't wear that yet. "Babe, wear your swim trunks first so we can have fun in the water first." Turning his head, Matt was confused until Alex clarified what she meant. "Easier to take off." Matt agreed, smirking due to how smart his gorgeous fiancé is.

Hawaii Babymoon and Engagement, Part Two: Beach Day Sex

She was currently naked as she floated in the ocean with her future husband, the man she craves more than anything in the entire world, and the future father of their child; something that she loves more than anything in the entire world. And yes, that includes this amazing round of sex that she was currently in the midst of enjoying with him; here in the ocean that they were having fun in. And damn, was her future husband really good in bed. And she really means that, because he's the best sex that she's ever had; something that Matt most certainly does know based on how happy she is at the moment. How happy she is in his arms, as they make sweet love to each other while they're naked in the ocean. "God, you are so damn sexy." Alex agreed with Matt as she took things nice and slow with him. "You regret not going surfing first?" Matt shook his head, as that most certainly wasn't something that he regrets as he loves having sex. "Oh, hell no, because I am loving this feeling of us making love to each other." Alex agreed with Matt, well aware that was the case as she kissed him once more. At the same time, Matt wrapped his arm around her as he continued to please her.

He then moved his lips to her neck as a way to tease her. And tease her he did, as that was the sexiest thing that he's done for her in a while. "Damn baby." Matt smirked as he heard Alex say that, while continuing to suck on her neck. "You enjoying this?" Alex agreed, moaning as he asked her that as she most certainly was enjoying the feeling of him making love to her in the ocean. "Much better than just watching you surf, as much as I would've loved the bulge that I would've gotten to enjoy had you worn a wet suit." Matt agreed with Alex as he continued to make love to her; with this being precisely what they both feel like they want (and need) to do with each other at the moment. "Someday, we'll have to bring our family here." Matt agreed with Alex, as that will be something that they do. "I already promise you this, we will be bringing our family here someday; that most certainly is not something that you need to worry about babe." Alex agreed with Matt, well aware that was the case as she felt him suck on her neck as a way to tease her. After which, he ran his hand up her back as they continued to enjoy each other in the water. "Check on the dogs?" Turning her head, Alex smiled.

After all, the dogs were being great. "Perfect, especially since we got here so early." Matt agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was the case; he then proceeded to turn his head and leaned in to kiss her softly. "Also means that we can leave early, so that we can go have more fun in bed again." Alex smirked as she wrapped her arms around Matt's neck before leaning her forehead against his and taking things nice and slow with the man of her dreams. "Just curious, how long until I'm officially you're fiancé?" Matt was confused as he heard Alex say that, as he didn't understand the question that he was being asked at the moment. "What are you talking about babe?" Alex sighed as she wrapped her arms around Matt's neck once more. "I mean, we both know that we can't just hide our engagement forever babe. I mean, I want to be with you in public someday soon; as we are also expecting a baby with each other if you forgot." Matt shook his head, as that wasn't something that he forgot. If anything, that was something that he remembered each and every day. "Babe, remember what I said. I'm ending things next week when we're back in Chicago. That way, I can be with you and get things ready." Alex agreed with Matt as she leaned in and kissed the man she loves once more.

And when she means the man she loves, she truly means that due to the fact that Matt is the love of her life; the one and only man that she truly believes that she could ever be married to. And that's why she's so happy that they're finally engaged and will be together for the rest of their lives. "I hope you know just how proud I am to be the woman on your arms in the future babe." Matt agreed, already well aware that she was going to be proud to be the woman on his arm. "I promise babe, that's all you're going to be in the future. You're going to be the woman I love; you're going to be the mother of our children, my future wife, and my forever." Alex agreed with Matt as he told her that, before smiling as she wrapped her arms around his neck and continued to take things nice and slow with the man of her dreams. While at the same time, he ran his hand up and down her back as they cuddled up to each other and just enjoyed this nice day that we're having with each other here at the mean. A day where they can take it easy with each other and relax while they celebrate the start of their future life together. Well, just one of the celebrations as they have another one later.

Hawaii Babymoon and Engagement, Part Three: The Bulge

She was currently doing a bit of topless tanning on the beach while the man of her dreams did something that he wanted to do right now, which would be some surfing; and boy does Alex love it when he surfs…especially when he walks out of the water like he's in the midst of doing right now. And there's a reason why that's the case. More specifically, a certain thing that appears, which she most certainly does enjoy looking at whenever her hunk of a fiancé comes out of the water, and that's why she loves to be here at the beach when he surfs, as does Matt due to the fact that he always gets a chance tease her (which is precisely what they both want him to do). They want him to tease her, as they have a lot of fun with each other here on their babymoon. "So, does someone like what they're looking at right now." Snickering as Matt asked her that question, Alex agreed as she most certainly does like what she's looking at right now. She loves the sight of her man's bulge as he walks out of the ocean due to the fact that it's very sexy and a huge turn on. "What do you think? You're a huge turn on and I can actually look at you here in Hawaii." Matt smiled, as that most certainly is the truth. She can look at him all she wants here in Hawaii as he's her man here. "Yes, because I'm your man here." Alex smiled.

She then proceeded to roll over as she wanted something, some of his love and attention more specifically, which Matt is more than happy to give to her now that she was looking up at him. "Damn, now I love this sight." Alex agreed with Matt as he said that, before smiling as she got up; after which, she walked up to him and just smiled as she walked up to the man of her dreams. After which, she leaned in and proceeded to kiss the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. Picking Alex up in his arms not too long afterwards, Matt smirked as he wrapped her legs around his waist before cuddling up to her precisely as she wants him to right now. She wants him to hold her in his arms as they cuddle up to each other and just enjoy this nice time that they're having with each other. "I love you." Alex agreed with Matt as he told her that, wrapping her arms and legs around his body as she took things nice and slow with the man of her dreams. The man she's now engaged to and will someday marry. "I love you Matt." Matt agreed with Alex, as he loves her too. "I love you too Alex, forever. And I am so glad that we're finally engaged." Alex smirked as she felt the same way about the man she loves. The man of her dreams, and her future husband Matthew James Casey; who's also the man that she wants in bed.

And she was ready to tell him that, as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and turned her head to suck on his neck; that was, until she whispered in his arm. "Take me home baby. Take me home and bring me to bed. I love you and want to celebrate us some more." Matt agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was the case; and the truth was, he wanted to do the same thing. He wanted to take the woman he loves in his arms as he made love to her. "Unfortunately, I can't carry you." Leaning back, Alex looked at the man she loves. "And why can't you carry me?" Matt snickered as Alex asked him that question. "Last time I checked, I need to carry my surfboard and our things; and we need to make sure that the dogs come along with us." Alex agreed with Matt, as he makes a bunch of good points. "Fine, but you owe me when we're at home." Matt agreed with Alex, well aware that he's going to owe her when they're home; something that he's more than ready to do as he takes things nice and slow with the woman he loves in his arms later. He just didn't know what repercussions will happen as a result of this round of sex. Repercussions that will haunt them for a bit.

Hawaii Babymoon and Engagement, Part Four: Celebrations

As the sun set on Hawaii, Matt Casey couldn't help but smile as he found himself laying down in bed with the love of his life and future wife, Alexandra Marie Jacobs; the future Ms. Casey, a name that he already loves for her. Ms. Alexandra Marie Casey. That's going to be her name in the future, he can already see it. But all he can see right now is her gorgeous eyes staring into his as she leans her forehead against this evening. "Is this real? Am I really going to be your wife?" Matt agreed with Alex, as she most certainly was going to be his wife; and someday, there was going to be a wedding band given to him by her on the hand that he currently hand on her back. The hand he was currently running up and down her side as he took things nice and slow with the woman of his dreams. "You know, I'm not really used to being a bottom; but I could learn if this is the view that I get on top of me." Alex smiled as she laid down on his chest and bent down to kiss him softly. "Well, I think I could get used to look down into your eyes rather than up into them." Matt nodded, as he felt the same way about her eyes. "I could get used to his as well, especially after you take your medication."

Alex smiled as she heard Matt say that, well aware of just what he was talking about. "God, you are going to love it when I have big breasts to feed our son; aren't you?" Matt agreed with Alex, as that most certainly will be something that he enjoys, just like he's already enjoying it right now as he reached up for her neck. He then proceeded to start taking things nice and slow with Alex as he was incredibly happy at the moment. Happy to be alone with her, while also celebrating the fact that they're engaged. Celebrations which will continue as he rolled over onto his side and brought Alex close to him while slipping his arm under her head, before placing his hand on her back as he stared into her eyes; meanwhile, Alex wrapped her arm around his neck and just smiled as she started to take things nice and slow with her future husband just like he wants her to. However, the fun that they were in the midst of having with each other was soon interrupted by a phone call. "God, now; really?" Matt smirked as Alex said that. "I'm not getting it." Alex was surprised as she heard Matt say that. "Did I really just hear you say that? Matt Casey isn't going to grab his phone?" Matt smiled.

After all, he wants to have this time with her. Time that they won't get back when they have their son. "I want to take time with you, which we won't have when we have our son. We'll be busy and we'll have to concentrate on someone else instead." Alex agreed with Matt, while kissing him softly as she loves the sound of that. "Not that I'm complaining, as I love that we're going to have a baby." Alex agreed with Matt, taking a breath. "Speaking of which, you promise me that we're going to be together before…" Bending down, Matt agreed as that was something that he most certainly could promise her. That they would be together by the time their son was born. He wants to be with Alex during the early days of them having a child, and that will never change. "Babe, I promise you that will never change. I want to be there when we bring our son home, I want to be there during the early days of his life; those are days that we'll never get back. I am never going to risk missing those days. That's something that you need to know about me babe, I'm going to be there right from the start." Alex agreed with Matt as he told her that, hating that she even doubted that would be the case.

After all, he's always wanted to be a father and he would be the last person you'd ever think would want to miss a single moment of their child's life. "I feel like an idiot for even thinking that way considering it's you." Matt shook his head, as that was not how he wanted Alex to feel. I loves her too much for her to call herself an idiot. "You are not an idiot, and you already know that babe. Please don't call yourself an idiot as it really does break my heart when you do that. Alex agreed with Matt as he told her that, well aware that was the case as she leaned in and kissed the man she loves once more. The man she craves more than anything in the entire world. "Did I ever tell you just how lucky I am to be your future wife?" Matt smirked. "I'm the lucky one considering you've been so patient with me. But I promise, I'm all yours now babe. Pack up your place, as you're moving home with me." Alex smiled as she heard Matt say that, before leaning in and kissing the man of her dreams once more. After which, she felt Matt run his hand up and down her back just like she wanted him to. She wants him to take things slow with her, which is precisely what he's in the midst of doing.

He's taking things nice and slow with the woman of his dreams, whom he loves more than anything in the entire world; but what he could never predict was that this trip would be both one of the highest times of her lives, while also leading to one of the lowest.
