The next morning, Rapunzel and the others woke up and found that the door had disappeared. So they decided to look for a way out, but they came across a room that sucked you in and then a kennel. Shortly after, Shorty told them he 'found a way out.'
"Hey! I found the way out!"
Everyone followed Tiny and ended up in a nursery full of toys. Everyone was amazed, except Cassandra who was mostly annoyed.
"Shorty, this isn't a way out!"
Shorty was jumping on a trampoline. "Well, not with that attitude, it's not."
Cassandra angrily approached the old man and grabbed him by the beard. "Listen to me, the adults would like to find a way out and not…" Before Cassandra could finish, Rapunzel, Eugene and Lance went to explore the room. "Ugh, Adira Hector, you two have nothing to s-?" When she turned around, the two knights were also gone, and she slapped her hand on her face. "Ugh, poor us."
Eugene and Rapunzel were playing with a giant teddy bear, while Lance was playing with swords with Shorty who was on a boat in a swimming pool and Hector and Adira were nowhere to be found.
Cassandra approached Lance and Shorty. "Okay, playtime's over." The two stopped playing with swords. "Aw, come on, Cass! Lighten up and learn to have a little fun." Lance complained. "I will as soon as we find a way-"
"Boo!" Suddenly Adira and Hector jumped from behind Cassandra, hitting her in the head with two giant stuffed animals. "Ah!" Cassandra jumped back with fright and the two knights laughed.
"You should have seen your face, Short Hair!" Adira laughed.
"You scream like a little girl!" Added Hector.
Cassandra looked at them annoyed as she couldn't believe that two grown adults playing such childish pranks. However, as she was about to leave, she noticed a very colorful spinning top on a shelf. Cassandra took the top, put it on the ground and spun it. Lance, Shorty, Adira, and Hector sat next to her, watching the top spin, until it started to sparkle so hard and was followed by an explosion.
Adira swallowed. "I have a bad feeling."
While Eugene and Rapunzel were fixing the teddy bear, they heard children laughing. They followed the sound to the dining room where they found a boy and a girl throwing each other's food, but the most disturbing thing is that those two children look a lot like Cassandra and Lance.
"Are those..." Eugene started saying.
"…Our friends?" Rapunzel finished for him, looking confused.
The two children started chasing each other around the room and throwing food. Shortly after, the two adults heard a cooing, looked down and saw that Shorty had also been transformed (but in a baby) and Rapunzel picked him up.
A few moments later, Eugene realized something else. "Wait a minute. If these are Cass, Lance, and Shorty..." He pointed to the three. "That means..." Before he finished his realization, he was interrupted by a scream of a child who ran to Rapunzel and climbed on her. It was Hector, and he couldn't have been more than four.
"But this is Hector!" Rapunzel said as she looked at him over her head.
Eugene blinks in shock. "If this is him, then where is-" He was interrupted when he felt an egg on his face. He turned around and ended up shocked even more. The egg was thrown by Adira who, like Hector, couldn't have been more than four years old. Eugene looked at her annoyed. "What? Don't you like eggs, Fish Skin?" Adira teased him.
Eugene took the egg off his face. "Yep, definitely them."
"Best. Playtime. Ever." Little Adira shouted as she jumped on a chair, swung on the chandelier, and threw another egg on the floor.
After a while, Eugene and Rapunzel managed to round up the children to try to figure out how it was that they were turned into children. However, this turned out to be far from easy: Adira and Cassandra behaved like bullying children and had no intention of cooperating, Lance was constantly asking meaningless questions and Hector was just too shy.
Shortly after, Mr. Matthews there warned that this transformation is caused by the Top of Time, to make them go back to the way they were before they have to spin the top in reverse, but they must do it within an hour otherwise their friends will remain children forever. After the children ran away from the sight of the two adults, Rapunzel and Eugene chased after her and brought them back, but the children didn't want to cooperate this time either, so Eugene decided to take matters into his own hands.
"All right, you listen up!" Eugene addressed the children in an authoritarian tone. "Here's the plan, kids. We'll all go to the nursery, we'll find that top and we'll get you back to normal. We will not be running off. We will not be breaking things. And for the love of all things big and small, we will leave that poor frog alone! Is it clear!?" Lance released Pascal from his grip, which he had previously been crushing.
"Are there any questions?" Eugene asked.
Lance raised his hand. "Can I go to the bathroom?" He asked.
"Again!? Can't it wait?" Eugene asked. Lance shook his head.
"C'mon, Eugene. He's just a kid." Rapunzel said.
"Fine." Eugene groaned. "I'll take Lance to the bathroom." He took Lance's hand and noticed that Hector had climbed up on Rapunzel. "Why are you up here?" She asked the boy. "They two are mean." Hector pointed at Adira and Cassandra who stuck out their tongues and gave him a raspberry. Eugene was shocked and not for Cassandra but for Adira. "All right. Raps, take the others to the nursery. See you there in five minutes. Let's go, Lance!" Eugene dragged him out of the room.
After Eugene and Lance left the room, Rapunzel turned away from the others and noticed that the two little girls were gone while Hector was still close to her.
With Hector holding her hand and Shorty in her arms, Rapunzel left the room to look for Adira and Cassandra. After a while, the two girls pounced on her while they were using shields like skateboards and landed on a table next to the princess. Rapunzel tried to talk to them, but the girls didn't listen to her this time either. The little girls were playing game where the floor was lava. Rapunzel complied, but Cassandra and Adira disappeared again. She found them but they ran off again, telling her that the floor had now turned into acid (they were still playing) and Rapunzel used her hair to hang herself from the ceiling. Shortly after, Eugene joined her along with Lance (who was dead weight). Eugene asked her why she was hanging, and she replied that the floor is acid and Lance, hearing the word acid, ran away.
Rapunzel and Eugene joined the children in the nursery and found the top. However, it was not easy to get it back because Lance, Cassandra and Adira were fighting over the toy. Hector broke away from her and joined the scuffle. Rapunzel tried to make them stop with kindness, but Eugene stepped in with severity, ordering them to give him the top, but the children did not give him the top. Eugene continued to scold them, but without success. Rapunzel tried to make him understand that the strong ways won't work, and Eugene countered, so they started arguing.
As they continued to argue, the children (including Shorty and Hector) ran away from the sight of the two adults and ended up where the dogs are.
As soon as they found out that the children were missing, Rapunzel and Eugene started looking for them and found them in the kennel and the top was between the paws of one of the sleeping dogs.
"And this is why I'm a cat person." Eugene groaned that the top was between one of the dogs.
"You get Lance and Hector, I'll get Cass and Adira!" Rapunzel whispered. "We gotta get that top before the dogs wake up."
The two of them split up, sneaking through the room as quietly as possible.
Cassandra and Adira began to approach the top. "Hey, Cass, Adira. Sweeties, I know you want to get the top." Rapunzel whispered. "And I know you two are very brave. But you are in an unsafe situation right now, so… I need you to please exit the kennel." Rapunzel sat down to be level with the two girls.
"Uh-huh, you're not the boss of us!" Cassandra protested. "Yeah!" Adira added.
"No, I-I-I'm not telling you two girls what to do." Rapunzel kept whispering. "But I strongly suggesting that you two reconsider..."
"Wow, Eugene was right." Cassandra said. "You do let us walk all over you. You guys are going to be disasters as parents." Adira stuck out her tongue when Cassandra finished.
Rapunzel looked down, hurt by Cassandra and Adira's words. Meanwhile, Eugene was trying to get Lance and Hector out of the kennel, but to no avail.
Seeing Eugene's failed attempts, Rapunzel realized she had to change her method of making herself heard. So she got up off the ground and grabbed the two girls, pulling them away from the dog.
"Hey! What are you-" "Let me-" Cassandra and Adira began to protest.
"Okay, listen up, young ladies!" Rapunzel put one hand on Cassandra's shoulder and her other hand on Adira's. "Playtime is over! Get your rear-ends outta this kennel right now! And walk on those tiptoes!" She turned Adira and Cassandra towards the door.
"But-" The two girls were about to protest but Rapunzel cut them off.
"No buts! Out! Tiptoes! Now!" Rapunzel pushed them towards the direction of the door.
"Yes, ma'am." Cassandra and Adira responded obediently and began to tiptoe towards the door.
Rapunzel sighed of relief, realizing that sometimes you have to be authoritative for good. Then she turned to Eugene who was still trying to get Lance and Hector to come out and then he realized he had to listen to the kids, so he asked them what they wanted to do, and they told him what they wanted to do, and they told him they wanted to play tag and they started playing. Eugene started running towards the door and the two boys started chasing him.
With Adira, Hector, Cassandra, and Lance finally near the door, Rapunzel and Eugene get together and tell the children to wait outside while they film the spinning top and Shorty. However, as they were approaching, Shorty tore the wooden duck, which he was playing with earlier, out of the dog's mouth and woke him up. He saw the intruders and started growling, waking up the other four dogs.
Rapunzel and Eugene climbed onto the cages to escape and took Shorty, putting him out of danger and away from the dogs. After a while, Pascal comes up with an idea: he takes a lock of Rapunzel's hair, ties it on his hips, he jumps over the dogs away from Rapunzel and Eugene, allowing them to escape, then Rapunzel pulled back the lock of hair, saving Pascal.
They ran to the door and Eugene told Lance to close the door. However, Lance misunderstood and closed the door, with everyone still inside the kennel.
The dogs rushed against the group and Rapunzel and Eugene cover the children in a protective manner. Fortunately, Shorty throws his top at the dogs and Pascal spins it around. When the group looked up, the dogs had turned into adorable puppies and the children took them and started playing with them. Soon after, Rapunzel spun the top again, and Cassandra, Lance, Shorty, Adira, and Hector went back to normal. They came out of the kennel and took the puppies with them.
As they walked down the hallway, Eugene approached Hector and Adira in a mischievous manner.
"Adira Hector, you know I'm surprised, I didn't imagine that inside you were hiding a rebellious girl with no respect for the rules and a shy boy with few words." He said with a grin.
Adira stared at him. "We only allow you to tell us these things because it's you."
"Yeah, otherwise we knocked you out." Hector added.
Eugene backed away and returned to Rapunzel. He opened another door and tentacles came out and he closed it again.
"Still no way out." Eugene groaned. "And it's gonna take us forever to check this whole place."
"Ugh, well, I guess we'll just have to stay here another night." Rapunzel said. "Today was really tough. But you know, even though we didn't always agree on everything, I think our differing approaches ended up being complementary in a weird way."

"Blonde, I completely agree." Chuckled Eugene. "If we ever do decide to have kids, assertiveness, compassion…"
"And a whole lot of love." Rapunzel finished and the two kiss. Then they all went into the room to sleep, but little did they know that Mr. Matthews was spying on them from behind a door.
"The mirror failed. The top failed. But I promise you, Master, I will keep the Sundrop in this house. Forever." He closed the door, revealing a handle in the shape of Zhan Tiri.
