Yukina and her friends have gone their separate ways in their attempts to get in Duel Breakers. In order for each of them to have a chance to get in the tournament, each of them are going around and taking on all the challenges that they can to get the necessary points they need to qualify. As Yukina was working hard, so was Cray.

"Attack!" Cray called as his Storm Dragon unleashed a devastating attack and blasted his opponent with fierce power and won himself another challenge. "That was hardly a warm-up."

"Oh man. This guy just smoked you."

"When he said he was like a storm, he really meant it."

"This is boring. There's not even a qualifying tournament happening in this little city." Cray said. "There's no one here to even give me a challenge. Looks like it's time to move on." He said as he was rather disappointed that he can't find someone to give him a challenge.

"Hold up for a second. You're looking for a challenge? If that's the case, you might want to try seeking The Card Shooter."

"Are you crazy? You want to throw this guy into the lion's den?"

"He's a tough duelist. Who knows. Maybe he can actually duel and beat that guy."

"Who are you talking about?" Cray said as he might have found someone who might be able to give him a challenge. "Who is this Card Shooter?"

"He's a bit of a scary guy. He acts like some sort of sniper, but he's able to shoot cards instead of bullets."

"When he shoots a card at you, it means he has you in his sights and wants to duel you. The guy is a little crazy, but he's a good duelist."

"And he's impossible to avoid. No one knows where he's striking from or where he is. It's like he's a professional sniper that never misses his target."

"And what about his actual dueling?" Cray questioned.

"More or less the same thing. He never misses his mark, and he aims to deplete all of your life points as much as he can." They're trying to make it sound like this Card Shooter is someone scary, but Cray isn't intimidated.

"A duelist that hides in the shadows rather than facing their opponent head on? Doesn't sound all that impressive to me. If he was a real duelist, he come out and face your opponents." Cray said as he didn't seemed impressed by this guy and just kept walking. This Card Shooter sounds like he means business, but Cray isn't intimidated. What he doesn't know was that this Card Shooter already had him in his sights. Someone had a target right on him at the top of a tower.

"Looks like I found myself a real challenge." The guy that was targeting Cray was dressed like a marine, but he had black camouflaged. He also had black hair cut in the appropriate style for the marine. "That's Cray Kodaru. He's going to make excellent prey." He was taking aim at him and took a shot with a specialized rifle, but he fired a card like Cray was told. It flew threw the air with amazing speed and velocity. As Cray was walking through the streets, the card shot right pass him and into the ground.

"What the heck?!" Cray said as he was little surprised that happened, but he realized it had to be this Card Shooter. He looked around and saw no sign of him anywhere.

"Look at him, scared and confused now. Well, now we'll see how he feels about being hunted and... Hey! Where are you going?!" The Card Shooter said as he saw that Cray didn't seem interested and just kept walking like what he just witnessed was nothing. "He's not even scared or anything?! Isn't he going to stick around to see where the shot came from?!" That didn't go the way he expected. He thought Cray would stick around for a duel or something, but Cray didn't seem interested. "So, you're not scared. Let's see how you feel about a double!" He loaded up another card into his special rifle, aimed it just right, and fired at it. The card flew pass him with it landing in the ground.

"Pathetic." Cray said as he just kept on walking.

"Hey! He's ignoring me?! What gives?!" Card Shooter said as this wasn't going the way he thought. Normally, people would act scared and confused. He would use that like a wild animal to attack, but Cray was keeping his cool.

...

Later

Cray was planning to leave town. Instead, he found a small hotel for him to stay. He walked right in and it looked like he was going to call it a day. He opened up a window and let in some fresh air, but that was when another card shot through. The Card shooter kept trying to get his attention, but nothing.

"That should do it." He claimed as he thought he had him, but nothing happened except Cray closing the blinds. "Are you serious?! He's going to sleep somewhere that doesn't seem safe?! Does he like to live on the edge or something?!" He was finding Cray to be unreal to move like this. "Well, I'm not giving up just yet."

...

The Next Day

Cray was ready to leave and hit the next place for his next duel. He was just on the edge of town and was leaving.

"This was a waste." Cray complained. "So much for this lousy Card Shooter." He said with disappointment and was about to leave.

"Hold it right there!" Cray turned around and was met with the Card Shooter himself. He looked frustrated and out of breath. "What the heck is your deal?! You ignored every one of my invites for a challenge and now you're leaving like nothing happened?! I don't like being ignored."

"I take it from your reaction that you're the infamous Card Shooter that I've been hearing about." Cray said.

"I never really cared for that. I don't know who even gave me that dumb name. My real name is Thomas Snider. Now, are you going to duel me or not?!" He called out as he was looking for one. As for Cray, he just snickered. "What are you snickering about?!"

"I was wondering when you were going to show up." Cray said with Thomas not expecting that. "I don't like little games. If you were a real duelist, you should have just came to me right from the start. I thought if I just irritate you enough, you come directly."

"You mean you were infuriating me, ignoring my calling cards, so I would get annoyed enough to come out of hiding!" Thomas said.

"That's right." Cray said as he dropped his stuff and got himself ready for a duel. "If you want a duel, now is the chance for you to get one. I don't turn away from duelists who act like duelists."

"You're one weird dude, but okay." Thomas said as he put together his duel disk. The two of them moved to an area where they could duel uninterruptedly. Time to see if this Card Shooter is as good at dueling as he is at aiming.

"Let's duel!" Both of them said as they were starting their duel at 4000LP.

"I'll make the first move!" Thomas said as he went first. "I have just the card to start with! Scapegoat!" He said as he played a spell. "This spell gives me four scapegoat tokens!" He said as four different colored goats appeared on his field with 0def points. "Don't like them? No worries. They won't be sticking around once I play Cannon Soldier!" He summoned out a robot with a cannon on its shoulder with 1400atk points. "His special ability will surely come in handy! For each monster I sacrifice, damage will be dealt to you! 500LP to be exact!" Each of his tokens were loaded into his monster and it fired four shots at Cray. Each shot hit its target with his life points already down to just 2000.

"Eliminated half of my life points on the first turn? Not bad." Cray said. "Maybe you're dueling really is as good as your aiming with that fancy toy you had."

"Oh? You liked it? It's something I made myself. I've always been good with mechanics." Thomas said. "Of course, I get just as much thrill from the dueling. I place one face-down and end my turn!"

"My turn!" Cray said as he drew his first card. "I'll start by summoning my Gale Drone to the field!" He summoned out his drone as it flew out with 1100atk points. "Although, it won't be sticking around. I activate the effect of Twister Tempo from my hand! When I summon a wind attribute monster, I can tribute it to bring him out!" He released his drone and summoned out his Twister Tempo as it flew out with 2000atk points. "There's more! I'm activating Vast Gale! It gives one wind monster another 1000atk points!" His monster grew even stronger as it now had 3000atk points. "Attack now! Destroy his Cannon Soldier with Whirlwind Jetstream!" His monster flew straight at Thomas' monster and smashed right into it with some fierce wind power and destroyed Thomas' monster with his life points dropping to 2400.

"Nice try, but I have something for this! I activate Time Machine!" Thomas said as he activated his trap. "This brings back the last monster that was destroyed! That means Cannon Soldier isn't heading for the scrapyard yet!"

"Well, before that happens, I'll activate Fierce Gale! Since a wind monster just destroyed a monster, you lose 400 more life points!" Cray said. A fierce blast of wind came at Thomas and smashed against him with his life points dropping to 2000.

"So you even the score? So what? My monster is still coming back." Thomas said as his Cannon Soldier came back to the field.

"I think I'll place a facedown of my own and end my turn." Cray said.

"My turn!" Thomas said as he drew his next card. "Perfect. Just what I need. When I have Cannon Soldier on the field, I can tribute it to special summon this bad boy! I special summon Cannon Captain!" His machine broke apart and reassembled it and became stronger and more powerful with a bigger cannon and had 1800atk points. "He might not seem all that powerful compared to your monster, but that's just fine. I'm activating Stray Lambs! That gives me two lamb tokens!" He said as two more tokens appeared on the field with 0def points.

"I get it. You're going to sacrifice them and deal me even more damage." Cray said.

"You got that right!" Thomas claimed. "For each monster I tribute, you lose another 700LP!" Both of his tokens were loaded into his cannon and it got ready to fire. It fired another couple shots and blasted Cray with his life points dropping down to 600. "There's more! I'm activating Megamorph and equipping it on to your monster! Since your life points are lower than mine, your monster is losing half of it's attack points!" Thomas claimed as energy flowed around Twister Tempo and his power dropped to 1500. "Now open fire and destroy him, Cannon Captain!" His cannon took aim once again and blasted away with it destroying Cray's monster and his life points dropped down to just 300. "That leaves you with only 300LP! You're finished now!"

"Think again!" Cray claimed with Thomas surprised how confident he still is. "No way am I losing to you! I activate Tempest of Demise! With it, I can add a level five or higher wind monster to my hand, and the one I choose is my Storm Dragon!" He said as he took his dragon back. "Since I also took damage, I can also summon out my two other Gale Drones to the feel!" He summoned two other drones to the field with 200def points.

"Oh boy..." Thomas said as he could see what was about to happen.

"You know what's about to come? Good!" Cray said as he had a crazy look in his eyes as he drew his next card. "I tribute both of my drones to summon Storm Dragon!" He said as he brought out his dragon as it raged with the wind and had 3000atk points.

"No worries! I'll still have life points and I'll just need one card to deal damage for this to be over!" Thomas claimed.

"This duel will be over...but sooner than you think!" Cray claimed. "I activate Rage Tempest! This spell card gives my monsters an extra 800atk points for this attack!"

"Are you kidding me?!" Thomas said as he couldn't believe it. That's just enough to end this as Cray's dragon's power increased to 3800. "Attack and end this with Tempest Destruction!" His dragon unleashed all of it's terrifying power and it was like standing against a hurricane. The fierce winds tore Thomas' monsters apart and blew Thomas away with his life points dropping all the way to zero.

"That hurt." Thomas complained as he was against the ground, but he soon saw Cray standing right over him.

"Let that be a lesson that a real duelist should have nothing to hide." Cray claimed.

"You're crazy." Thomas said.

"Maybe I am, but so what?" Cray said. "You want to duel me again, just come and find me." He said as he just turned around and walked away, but Thomas wasn't going to forget this defeat.

"Hey! I'm not done! I'll find you and beat you one day! You hear me?! I've got my sight set on you!" Thomas claimed. Having the eye of a sniper on you with him ready to aim sounds scary, but Cray still kept his cool. Leave it to Cray to be faced with a sniper and still managed to walk away like it was nothing.
