A/n: Happy last day of Mimato week! I'm so sorry that I really did not write as much as I thought I would. Even this update itself is just half of what I originally planned to write for this AU. Let's hope that Mimato Week 2024 helps me finish this once and for all!

To recap, this is a continuation of my Regency era AU from Chapter 2. We pick up right after the slightly immoral kiss YamaMimi share.

I did not have the time to fact check all the consistencies from last year's story, but in case of any difference I'll probably edit them later. For now enjoy my entry for the prompts "moving in together" and "marriage proposal", if you squint hard enough, you'll find them in there somewhere!

Happy reading!

4. Everything's Coming Up Roses #2

- x -

"I think your sister is being a little unreasonable."

Matt didn't raise his eyes from the newspaper sprawled in front of him on the table, even as the air around him grew heavy with the words that had just been spoken. The sun was shining bright outside, and the clear blue sky lacked any signs of the gushing rain it had showered upon them yesterday. It was a great morning to eat breakfast in the scenic gardens of Sunnyhill Manor, but with a few members of their usual party missing, Matt and Tai decided to take their meal in the latter's study instead. The two had been eating mostly in silence until Tai's wife, Lady Sora, arrived to disrupt their peace and quiet.

He still found it odd that his best friend fell in love with this girl over one glance, and as much as Matt tried to understand her, their worldview poised a stark contrast and it only led to disagreements between the two of them. He had been friends with Tai for as long as he could remember, they went to school together and even travelled out of England on ships together, their day-to-day schedules had involved each other's presence for years until the one time Tai visited London without him and then came back with a wife that Matt didn't know anything about. He didn't think he was in the wrong for not accepting her with open arms minutes after meeting her, but at Tai's request, he tried his best to keep his distrust of her under wraps.

To some extent, Matt had been getting better at not rolling his eyes over every observation Sora made about their life in the countryside. It was going well too, until he was introduced to her best friend, and things went further downhill from there.

If Matt had thought Sora to be annoying, Lady Mimi's appearance had been an eye-opener for him.

In the beginning, he did not understand why Tai, his best friend who knew him better than anyone else, would invite him for a summer retreat involving people like Mimi or even Doctor Joe. Tai was aware that it was difficult for Matt to get along with people without spending a considerable amount of time with them, and that he found it hard to start conversations when left alone with someone he didn't know very well. Yet, Tai and Sora would often leave him and the Doctor alone with Mimi, which felt extremely suspicious to Matt. He wanted to demand the truth out of the Lord and Lady of Sunnyhill Manor and whatever they were plotting, however, he himself felt oddly drawn towards the chirpy girl from London.

He had never experienced a feeling like this before, craving someone's attention and yet, wanting to be as far away as possible from them. That's how he felt every time he looked at Mimi. Every time she walked into a room, Matt had the sudden urge to call out to her, have her caramel coloured eyes fix upon him, have her speak his name with her soothing sweet voice, hear her bright laugh that was as fresh as a hundred flowers blooming under the sun. And still, something inside him made him feel hesitant to bask under her warmth, every time she got too close to him, Matt would do something to keep her at arm's length, which made things between them tense at all times.

Except for yesterday, but he was trying hard not to think about the events that transpired between the two of them at the gazebo last evening. He was afraid his true emotions would show on his face and the other two occupants of the room would notice the change in his behaviour immediately. So Matt lifted the paper from the bottom edge and turned it slowly so as to not make too much noise and draw attention to his presence in the room, he did not want to get in the middle of the argument that was unfolding around him after all.

"It is Kari's birthday," Tai said, setting down the cup of tea in his hand on the desk in front of him he folded his arms as a pleading look appeared on his face. "It is understandable if she has a few unreasonable demands."

Matt sneaked a look at Sora from the corner of his eye, she did not seem pleased by her husband's words as her nostrils flared under Tai's hopeful gaze. Still, she was good at concealing her emotions and maintaining appearances, so she did not raise her voice in the slightest when she responded.

"I agree. However, it is slightly unfair of her to give us such little warning."

"Perhaps she expected me to remember her special day and wishes, it seems like this is more my fault than hers." A sheepish smile appeared on Tai's face as he ran a hand through his wild brown hair. Apparently, the justification did not meet his wife's standards as Sora finally allowed herself to look completely miffed with Tai's behaviour as she rolled her eyes at him.

Tai had informed him over breakfast early in the morning that the subject of Sora's visit to his sister was a discussion of her soon to arrive birthday. Kari had requested Sora to host the party and invite only family members, which included all their distant relatives as well. But ensuring that the entire guest list would be able to stay at the manor comfortably would require shipping off the current guest back home and Sora was not happy about ending her vacation time with Mimi so soon.

"It is her last birthday before she is made to enter the society, if she wants to celebrate it with the family then I see no harm-"

"Mimi is my family."

Matt had no choice but to look up from the paper completely as Sora's loud voice drowned out whatever Tai had been meaning to say. He saw his best friend close his mouth and swallow a nervous gulp as Sora glared at him with her hands balled into tight fists at her side. From the redness in her cheeks, Matt could tell that she wanted to say a lot more on the matter of Kari and her demands, but when their eyes met by mistake, she took a deep breath and composed herself quickly. Pursing her lips together, Sora did not speak another word as she walked towards the settee near the windows and sat down with her back facing Tai, possibly signalling the end of this conversation. Matt turned his attention towards his friend and noticed that he was sulking, having sunk into his chair with a dejected expression on his face.

While the Earl enjoyed the silence that settled over them for the next several minutes, the heaviness that hung in the air between the married couple eventually disrupted his peace. Matt folded up the paper and cleared his throat to get Tai's attention, hoping to engage him in some menial conversation so that Sora too would be instigated to join in with a courteous reply or two.

"How soon do you expect your family would be arriving?" Matt directed his question towards Tai in a quiet tone, though he noticed Sora tilt her head in their direction slightly at his words.

"In another week, I think," Tai responded with a tired sigh.

"I should make arrangements to head back with haste then," Matt said. He wanted to add a few lines that would help make Tai feel better but at the same time he was afraid that if he took his friend's side at the moment, the distrust between him and Sora would only grow deeper. Tai nodded at his words silently and while Matt contemplated what else he could say to fill the silence in the room, to his surprise it was Sora who took the conversation forward.

"Apologies for asking you this, your grace, but how far is your home from here?" Sora suddenly turned her head expectantly in his direction.

"Uh, less than a few hours by road." Matt blinked a few times with surprise at the suddenly curious look she fixed him with, her face looked brighter as if she'd begun to solve all her problems by taking a single look at his face.

"And your entire family is staying there currently?" Sora questioned him again.

Matt glanced at Tai before answering, it was only when his friend shrugged disinterestedly that the Earl turned his attention back towards Sora, "Only my mother. My father and my brother are travelling in France."

"Oh, I see." She nodded pensively and remained silent for the next few minutes. This was perhaps the longest conversation the two of them had had without breaking into a disagreement. When she spoke up again the excitement in her voice almost made Matt jump in his seat, "And I assume that your property is as big as our manor?"

"A lot bigger." Matt scoffed at the simplicity of her question.

"That is debatable." Tai finally piped up, sending a scowl in his direction.

Sora did not seem fazed by Tai taking offence on behalf of the manor, instead, her face was filled with delight.

"I know this is too much to ask of you, your grace," Sora said as she got up from her seat by the window and moved towards Matt with her hands clasped together, "but will you allow Mimi to stay with you until our house is ready to host her again?"

It was not an easy task for the Earl to keep his emotions at bay as Sora's request settled in his mind. After the kiss the two of them had shared last evening, it seemed that even hearing Mimi's name from someone else's mouth was enough to make his face heat up. Which is why he had to concentrate very hard on maintaining a passive expression, one that would not give away his true intentions. But his concentration and efforts may have projected the wrong image to Sora as she quickly began to justify her request, afraid that he might turn down her suggestion.

"You see, I promised her father that I would take care of her until he returned from his international travels. I gave him my word, I cannot send her back to an empty house in London." Her berry eyes shined with tender determination, this kind of love and care was perhaps only reserved for Mimi in Sora's heart as he had yet to see her shower Tai with such attention.

Unbeknownst to him, Matt's heart had started to pick up pace from the moment the conversation steered itself towards Mimi. He was trying his very best to keep himself composed but the idea of having Mimi live in his house after what had happened between them was enough to send his heart racing at a rate that Doctor Joe would consider unhealthy.

Surely, after always feeling like ill luck followed him around like a shadow all his life, it was not possible that such a chance would appear in front of him so easily, that it would be served to him in a golden platter all for his taking.

"I am not bothered by your suggestion," Matt said, averting his gaze from Sora's and directing it back to the newspaper that lay folded in front of him. He cleared his throat slightly when his own meek voice reached his ears and Tai's eyes came to rest upon him like a hawk preparing to catch its prey the moment the latter slips, "However, the decisions rests with Lady Mimi herself, I believe."

"Yes! I will speak to her at once!" Sora exclaimed loudly as she clapped her hands twice and almost dashed out of the room. She was gone only for a moment before she came rushing back in and surprised both Tai and Matt when she called out from the doorway, "Oh, where are my manners? I am greatly indebted to you for this favour, your grace. Thank you very much for your help."

With those words she hurried out of the study once again, leaving Matt alone with his best friend who now had a peculiar look in his deep brown eyes, one that clearly said that things would not bode well for the Earl if he stayed in this room for too long. Matt got up from his chair and busied himself, dusted off his coat, tucked the folded newspaper under his arm, and reached out for his teacup to down the remaining beverage before he quietly took his leave.

"What happened in the woods last night?"

Tai was never known for beating around the bush so his words hit Matt like darts landing on a coveted target. He sputtered on the lukewarm tea he had just brought to his lips and felt warmth rush to his ears as his reaction to the question only seemed to make him look more guilty. Matt coughed lightly, trying to settle the tea in his throat and then took a deep breath as he replied to Tai with a steady voice that surprised both of them.

"Nothing happened in the woods last night."

"So you expect me to believe that you willingly helped look for Mimi in such bad weather, someone you've rejoiced in avoiding the entire time you have stayed here." Tai raised a questioning eyebrow.

"I am aware that it sounds quiet unlike me," Matt said, turning his back to his friend as he started to make his way towards the door since he knew that the only way of getting out of this interrogation was to leave. "But unfortunately, it was my words that pushed her into running deep into the woods, and I developed a guilty conscience the minute the weather changed for the worse."

"That seems like the half truth but I'll allow you to keep the facts to yourself if you wish," Tai said and even without looking at him, Matt could hear the smile that was now spread across his friend's face in his voice. "What I find interesting is that you seemed equally drenched as Lady Mimi as if you had accompanied her on that walk right from the beginning."

"Nonsense, I would never-"

"The Doctor clearly possessed the wit to carry an umbrella with him when he went to search for Mimi, but the fact that someone with your intellect would overlook something so simple is most suspicious as well."

"A momentary oversight. Happens to the best of us." Matt gritted his teeth as his hands landed on the handle of the door.

Thankfully, Tai was still seated in his chair and had not decided to continue the conversation by following him out, but his loud laugh reached Matt's ears and he felt even more embarrassed than earlier. His friend knew him too well to buy these excuses, but at the same time, Matt could not trust him with the truth either since it involved the question of Mimi's dignity as a lady. Perhaps Tai was able to gauge that Matt was only withholding information from him because it involved Mimi since he did not question him further.

Once Matt had opened the door and turned around to face him before he took his leave, Tai fixed him with a teasing smirk as he leaned back in his chair, resting both his hands behind his head, "I suppose you're right. In any case, I'm sure that you will have many more such momentary oversights once our precious Mimi moves in with you."

ooo

The week leading up to their departure from Sunnyhill Manor passed by in a blink of an eye.

The house itself became quite busy with Sora making consistent trips to meet Kari, then coming back and making the preparations for the week-long celebrations that would take place for the princess of the Godsworth family. Everyone could tell that the Lady of the house was not happy with the duties thrust into her hands, thus the other members tried their best to not appear in her line of sight, lest they get straddled with a chore that would keep them busy until sundown.

Doctor Joe had informed them about his visit to London a few days ago resulting in a job offer at a prestigious hospital that was also a teaching college. There was a congratulatory and farewell dinner hosted in his name, the only night that Tai and Sora appeared to have not argued about anything throughout the day and looked happy enough to stand next to each other, hand in hand. It was also the night that Mimi decided to join them again, having completely recovered from the fever that she had caught because of the rain.

Matt had been on his very best behaviour that night, giving Mimi all the space she needed to be herself and not be burdened by the kiss they had shared. He mostly kept to himself by tiptoeing around the group, joining the conversations occasionally with a short comment or observation every once in a while. But a knot would twist in his stomach every time he heard Mimi laugh over something the Doctor had said. His grip around his champagne glass would tighten and his tongue would tremble, itching to interrupt the conversation so he could have Mimi's attention on him for even a brief moment. Then he'd sense Tai watching him from across the room, waiting for him to make a move that would confirm whatever his friend was suspecting him of. So Matt would turn his eyes to the heavens instead, drowning the liquor in his hand in one full swoop to tune out the noise around him more easily.

The next day he woke up with a searing headache and the sound of Mimi's laugh ringing in his ears, reminding him of how he'd solidified a wall between them through his impulsive actions. Matt had spent his whole life being careful about everything he did, but the one time that he decided to let his heart take control, he made an irreparable mess of things. However, he wasn't allowed even a minute to just lay in his bed and contemplate his feelings because shortly after he opened his eyes, his butler informed him that due to the weather predicted to get worse tomorrow, it was best if he and Lady Mimi departed for Snowpeak Abbey before noon. Sora was not happy to hear that she would have to part with her friend a day earlier than was planned, but nevertheless, the preparations for their departure were carried out in full swing.

Knowing that he would occasionally get the chance to go back home during his retreat at Sunnyhill Manor, Matt's luggage had not consisted of much, but the same could not be said for Mimi. When they stood at the entrance loading the trunks into the carriage Matt and Tai watched with mouths hanging open as the servants attempted to fit everything to the best of their capabilities.

"Maybe you ought to leave a few things behind," Sora said with a sheepish smile, her one hand resting around Mimi's shoulders as they watched two maids attempt to fit a few circular boxes through a window of the carriage.

"I most definitely will not. It could lead to a major mismatch of my outfits if even one little thing was missing." Mimi responded with a frown, confused that her friend would even bother to suggest something like this.

"I don't see how you will be able to sit in there with all the-" Tai commented, stopping mid sentence to wave his hands haphazardly as he gestured at the state of Mimi's carriage. "Unless of course, you don't have a problem riding with Matt."

At his words, Mimi blew up her cheeks in a pout and stomped down the entrance steps to inspect her carriage.

"You just had to say that," Sora said as she moved closer to her husband and smacked his arm lightly.

"Look at the state of the thing!" Tai argued back even as he linked his arms with her.

Matt held back an eye roll and turned his attention towards Mimi, who was busy peeping into her carriage from every direction, hoping to find enough space for her petite frame to fit inside with all the hefty trunks. Somehow, the sight of her ticked him off. Maybe it was because of the alcohol he had consumed last night still running through his veins or the fact that he hadn't gotten enough rest in the morning to be truly ready for the difficult day ahead, but he no longer felt like putting himself down to make her comfortable. Especially since she had had no problem avoiding him the previous night as she spent every minute stuck to the Doctor.

He had done her a favour by inviting her to his home, the least she could do was tolerate being in the same carriage as him for a few meagre hours.

"I don't have time for this," Matt muttered under his breath and thundered down the stone steps swiftly towards where his own carriage stood parked.

"Mimi, come on, get in his carriage or you'll be left behind."

Sora's voice floated in his ears as he spoke with the driver about the route to take and checked the condition of the horses. From the corner of his eye, he saw that Sora had managed to pry Mimi away from her packed-to-the-brim carriage and was now coaxing her to sit inside the other one. He attempted to drag out the conversation with the driver till he could see that Mimi was settled in. When Matt finally moved forward to take a seat inside, he felt a familiar tap on his shoulder.

"I'll see you in a few weeks." Tai smiled at him when he turned around so he nodded silently in acknowledgement.

Before Matt could turn back, however, Tai suddenly leaned in closer and whispered in his ear.

"You always say I know you better than anyone, so have faith in my judgement alright?"

When Tai stepped back the smile on his face was almost negligible but the satisfied glint in his eyes was hard to miss. Matt wanted to call after him and ask him what he meant by that but his friend had already begun to climb the steps back into his house, his arms draped around his wife's waist as he said something to her and both of them laughed loudly as the doors opened to them welcome them in. Only Sora turned around once to wave at Mimi and give him a courteous bow before the couple disappeared out of sight.

He was on his own now, Matt thought as he took a deep breath and climbed in the carriage himself, taking the seat opposite Mimi.

As soon as he clasped the door shut, the sound of the horses' charged neighs 3gtresonated around them and the carriage lurched forward without wasting time. His home was not too far from Sunnyhill Manor which meant that the ride would last less than a few hours, but with the tension that rested between him and Mimi, even a minute felt like a year in passing. Matt tapped his fingers against his knees and stared outside the window at the scenic countryside. With a quick glance, he observed that Mimi sat with her hands folded in her lap as she too kept her attention on the scenery outside, just through the window on the opposite side. He wanted to groan at her childish behaviour but considering that he had been the one to drag them into such a strange position, he managed to stay quiet.

It wasn't easy, however, to not let his mind slip back to that rainy evening every time he became conscious of her presence around him. He did not want to create any more problems between them, but when a whiff of her flowery fragrance reached him, his mind recalled the scent of the fresh rainwater falling on the lush leaves that had surrounded them in the gazebo. When they encountered some hefty bumps on the road and the carriage jerked them forward, his knees brushed past hers and he remembered how the silk fabric of her dress had been so soft to touch almost like a second skin. When the journey dragged on in silence and she let out a bored sigh, the sound of her whimpers and moans from when he'd held her in his arms rang in his ears like alarm bells.

Sitting in the tiny compartment of the carriage with nothing else to do but stare, Matt found his eyes wandering away from the window and towards Mimi. He did not know when he would next have the chance to share such a private space with her, so would it truly be wrong of him to soak up as much of her beauty as he could? In the moments after they'd left Sunnyhill Manor as guests of the same stature and before they arrived at his home with new rules binding them together as host and guest, the two were nothing more than a Lord and a Lady sharing a ride together till their destination. He should not have to bother with appropriacies of the society when Mimi sat in front of him looking like she had just stepped out of a Parisian painting.

His emotions must have spilt out in the tense atmosphere that surrounded them because Mimi very suddenly turned her head and looked him directly in the eye.

This was the first time the two had fully faced each other since the kiss.

Long since childhood, Matt was always the child who sat with his nose buried deep in books about philosophy or plays about wars and tragedies. But never once had it crossed his childlike mind that perhaps he may want to look for clues on how to behave during situations like these. He was aware that women were trained to act a certain way or say the right thing in any social scenario, which to be fair, even the thought of it was something he'd always found suffocating, however, right now it didn't seem like such a bad idea to have someone feeding into his mouth the words that he was supposed to speak.

Matt did believe that he was a good judge of people's character, and even better at reading their faces, but somehow even when he looked directly into Mimi's jewel like eyes, he could not decipher what was going on in her mind. She kept her face devoid of any expression, even though her cheeks were tinged with pink. Had the colour been there from the beginning or was she unable to hide her feelings well after all, was a question that he could not answer since he could barely remember to breathe when she looked at him.

"I apologize for the intrusion I will be causing," she said in a sombre tone, bowing her head just the right amount, showing well the courteous upbringing she must have received.

"Not at all," Matt murmured politely in response, knowing that he would have to rely on Mimi to lead the conversation today.

"I wonder how your family will feel about the arrival of an unexpected guest." She mused to herself, tilting her head slightly as she gazed at him intently from under her lashes.

"It's just my mother who is currently residing at home," Matt explained quickly, swallowing a gulp. After everything he had put Mimi through, the last thing he wanted was for her to feel unwelcome in his home. "I wrote to her earlier this week informing her of your arrival. She is looking forward to finally having some company."

"I see, that's relieving." She smiled, turning her attention back to the countryside that passed them by.

The carriage was silent again for a while, but the discomfort that Matt felt was something different than earlier. He wanted to start talking again but lacked the right words to do so. A comment about the weather or the plain roads outside ought to do it, he thought to himself at one point but felt too embarrassed to say the words out loud.

There was also the matter of his mother that kept bothering him at the back of his mind. The explanation he forwarded to her lacked many crucial details and knowing the kind of imagination his mother possessed, Matt was worried that she would have cooked up some extremely incorrect notions about why Mimi was coming along with him, something that would involve the words marriage and proposal, which were far from the truth. He contemplated whether he should warn Mimi about the eccentricity of his mother, however, before he could speak, the brunette came forward with a question of her own.

"What about your other family members?" She was looking at him again with a curious glint in her eyes.

"My father is a scholar so he is in France for a sabbatical, along with my younger brother."

"What does your brother do?"

"He's trying to be a writer, travelling gives him inspiration it seems," Matt replied, slightly taken aback by her sudden interest in his family.

"So you're a family of scholars, huh?" Mimi remarked, a look of wonder flashed across her face as she smiled and added under her breath, "Could not have guessed that."

"Half of us are." Matt shrugged.

He wanted to add that the other half, namely him and his mother were left tending to all the things that managed to pay for his father and brother's whimsical professions, but decided that it was a little too soon for her to know about the issues that surrounded his family. "It's a shame my brother is not at home right now, you would have enjoyed meeting him. He is...very different from me. Much more likeable too." A smile appeared on his lips on its own accord as his brother's jovial face crossed his mind. He'd turned his gaze away from Mimi in that moment which is why he found the words he heard next hard to believe, since he could not confirm that her lips had moved and she truly did speak them out loud.

"I think you're plenty likeable."

Her voice had been barely above a whisper but he was sure that he heard those words, even if he felt too flustered to ask her to repeat herself. When he braved a glance in her direction, he saw that she'd returned to staring out of a window, but with a very small smile playing on her lips, and the sight only confused him more.

Had Mimi truly called him likeable?

No, plenty likeable?

His mind spiralled with the idea of having her say something in favour of him, but before he could make peace with it, she decided that she wasn't yet tired of talking with him.

"So do you write as well?" Mimi piped up again, without the slightest inclination of what she had said just a few minutes ago in the upbeat tone of her voice.

"Not like my brother or father…" Matt answered, pausing to collect his thoughts about how he should best explain his secret hobby to her, settling with vague words he hoped would disinterest her, "My style is very different from theirs."

"What do you mean?" Mimi batted her eyelashes with a fresh curiosity as she peered at him.

"I don't write prose…" Matt found himself replying to her unconsciously, despite wanting to steer the conversation in any other direction except his writing, "I write poems...lyrics even."

Her eyes widened at his confession, and an excited look appeared on her face as she leaned slightly forward before posing her next question, "Will you allow me to read them…your grace?" She added the title as an afterthought and it made him feel slightly embarrassed.

The conversation that they had just shared had nothing to do with their bearings in society, but a simple talk between friends. He hadn't come to realize that they'd stopped bothering with the correct honorifics somewhere along the line and the fact that he didn't seem to mind it at all. When he first met Mimi, all he could think about was keeping her at a respectable distance from himself because he did not know anything about her. Although, he was surprised by how talking to her or even arguing with her had never felt burdensome, be it good or bad, he'd always felt the urge to bare his true emotions to her. It was an odd quality that she possessed, even when someone was baring their fangs at her, the sincerity in her caramel eyes would never waver. It was as if she was telling the other person to come at her with everything because she would accept them nonetheless. There was no doubt that he was slightly intimidated by her pure grit and that is perhaps why he had spent so much time attempting to build a wall between them.

"Some day perhaps…" He muttered, turning his eyes away from her so she could not read the truth in them.

"Some day soon?" She urged again and at that point, it was impossible for him to not blush at her interest in his writing.

"My work is not as…refined, for the lack of a better word, as my father or brother's. It is not meant to be shared with just anyone so freely." He blurted out the thoughts he had hoped to rephrase in a better manner too quickly.

With guilt spreading through his veins he watched as Mimi leaned back in her seat, the shine in her eyes fading quite a bit when she turned her attention away from him and started to stare out of the window with a blank look on her face once again.

"I understand. I assumed that I am no longer just anyone to you, your grace."

The bitterness that she slipped into those last words made his heart ache but Matt managed to keep a straight face until his house came into view several minutes later. If he was being honest, sharing some of his simpler writing with her would not have caused him much distress but there was something deep inside him that held him back. The time when he finally understood what purpose Mimi was supposed to serve in his life would surely come soon, and then he would be able to bare his heart to her without hesitation.

He just hoped that she would tolerate him until that moment arrived.

A/n: Okay so there is a very important plot twist hidden in this chapter, I'll be super happy if anyone is able to guess it xD The original plan for this chapter did involve Mimi meeting Matt's mom, but that we will save for next update (which hopefully will happen before next year?).

Let me know what you thought of this slow burn chapter that did not really accomplish much except establish that Matt's been a simp at first sight for Mimi xD
