Chapter 10 A Person's Will To Change

Hyuga Residense Main House

Neji Hyuga while at home he confronted his uncle and head of the clan Hiashi Hyuga, Father of Hinata and Hinabi. He confronted him about the truth about his father now with a new point of view which was once blurred but now cleared by Sakura Haruno…even the name made something beaten inside me…Uncle gave me a letter as he asked me to read it in front of him. It read of things that my father would like to have said to me now and why he died…to protect my Uncle and Hinata he died for them….willingly…..after…I felt my Uncle hug me like if I was is own son and explained that if he would have died if it weren't for his father and the council. He chose his own destiny like I will…Thank You Father…

Next Day "Shikamaru" POV

Today is a weird day I mean we go back on our missions yes but having the record of an S-Class mission as genin we're looked differently by other ninja as well what genin do S-Rank missions but other than that life was alright I mean I wanted to continue my training now that the Chunin Exams were up and coming and even if we weren't entered here than it still be good if we prepared for the invasion I mean I didn't plan to say anything about me being from another world….I mean what would you think other people would say…some crazy guy would start to experiment and leave this place destroyed so that's why I don't just tell the Hokage. Parsley it's because…I'm afraid…I don't show my sadness to others or my insecurities because there not needed I should be confident but something at this scale of multiple worlds…what If something happens and it was my fault that the change was bad like if Danzo became Hokage knowing of some form of the future. Someone like him that would just want only the leaf to stand is dangerous. I don't hate the guy but the things he does do make him worse than many others and the way he does it. Like trying to control Naruto to get him into root by his anger and try to get him to rage out then kill his emotions in root. Or the Uchiha Massacre were he took multiple eyes.

Other than that things might just deviate on there own like something that just passively happen as I'm here.

I get up from eventually training that later day with dad and with the recent events and now coming home I managed to lower the Shadow Imatation Jutsu and my Father said he was going to teach me another Jutsu as he grabbed a drink from his water and I just wait for him on the spot I fell trying to catch my breath.

"Shikamaru the Jutsu I want to teach you would be the Shadow Sewing Techinque… I think you're ready of a jutsu of this Caliber and your brain would be able to do a lot of good with this Jutsu then the Jutsu I was originally going to teach you so make me proud." I got up via Kip up as I looked determined and I felt another surge of energy coming from my core. I wanted to get stronger.

Team 7 Meeting place : Bridge

Sakura has been at this bridge many of times now being more going with the flow and catching the pace of Kakashi-Sensei quite well and reading over a bit more of Kakashi-Sensei's history when I'm able to go into the Konoha Shinobi Archives with Shikamaru-Kun I found out more about Sensei and it even said multiple things saying how he killed his own teammates trying to "complete the mission" and is now or formally called Team Killer Kakashi. It made Sakura sad that this man that saved her life in more than one occasion had about almost no one. I did hear Shikamaru-Kun having actually heard Kakashi-Sensei became a Jonin when he was I think it was our age or just above and that is insane that Kakashi-Sensei was already at that level.

Getting lost in thought Sakura herself being the only one on the bridge awaiting her teammates until a another came from her right and it was unexpected who it was.

Neji Hyuga upon having his view change inn about only a day as had to cope with how his old personality may have hurt people like Sakura and even Shikamaru but he seemed like he didn't care if he was being honest but he wasn't sure so he was going to apologize to everyone he hurt from his black and white view of life.

"Hello Sakura-San I wanted to apologize for my past behavior." Sakura saw him bowing as she started to put her hands up to stop him. She was slightly embarrassed by his actions and when he stopped Sakura had a red face as she had blushed in embarrassment.

"There is no need to do that Neji I just wanted to help you…you looked like you needed it…I could feel pain coming from your eyes and I can't take it when I see people with those types of eyes." Neji flinched at the quick flip to embarrassed to passionate all in a couple seconds. He blushed the compassion this girl had was amazing and she helped him and wants to be there for others.

"W-Why are you like this Sakura-San….not to be mean but you seem like this happened to you aswell." Neji saw a brief smile appear on Sakura's lip and she continued to hold it.

"Because someone helped me when I was down bad and trying to find a way to be better…it felt like I fell into a well without anyway of getting out and it also felt like I continued to fall down due to my own failure but he saved me from myself and my doubt…and I'll save you too Neji." A smile coated her features as Neji's face turned to the right as I bit of a blush compasses his face.

'Why does my heart beat harder when I'm near here." Neji continued to stare at her to even when she took notice of his staring and questioned the Hyuga. "Neji?" She tilted her head trying to figure out what he was doing.

Neji tried to think of a response but was cut off by an "Hey who are you!" They heard the voice of the #1 Hyperactive Knuckle headed Ninja Uzumaki Naruto running towards them and staring intently at Neji. Neji steeped himself as Naruto walked up to Neji inspecting him.

"Naruto what are you doing." They heard the call from a duck haired shinobi jumping from out of the trees to reveal Sasuke Uchiha who jumped from the tree onto the bridge landing gracefully on the wood planks that made up the bridge flooring.

"Who are you…Hyuga." Sasuke stared at Neji suspiciously and Neji stared right back at Sasuke.

"Well I just wanted to thank Sakura-San for helping if that was any of your business but I must return to my team." Neji huffed as he walked away arms crossing his other one. But at last second he could have sworn Sakura was calling out to him so he turned to her to see her wave.

"It was nice to meet you Neji and formally this time and I hope we'll be be better friends in the Future!" Neji turned back as there was a newly formed red space on either cheek as his heart started to beat a little faster. 'What is this feeling.' Neji grasped at his beating heart beating more than normal.

"Who was that Sakura." Sasuke said as he looked down his hair covering his eyes so that you couldn't see.

"It was my new friend Neji…is there something wrong Sasuke-Kun." Sasuke raised his head to the Kun at the end of his name once again usually he wouldn't pay this any mind but after the battle and break from the prompt ass beating Team 10 gave them (not that Sasuke would Admit he lost) she changed her outfit completely and herself more importantly. She stopped acting like a fangirl and more importantly she acted like she was Haruno Sakura the shinobi and not the Sakura Haruno the Fangirl. This was If not the first time he flushed when someone called his name like this.

"O-Okay S-Sakura-C-Chan." Sasuke blushed a bit more and rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment as Sakura beamed in happiness at him though a certain blond wasn't entertained not in the slightest.

"Well hello everyone…did I come at a bad time…" Kakashi Hatake copy Ninja of the Hidden Leaf and Jonin-Sensei of Team 7 asked his 3 students who all had different expressions with Sakura being happy, Sasuke was Flustered!?, and Naruto was giving a slight glare and at who Kakashi didn't know why but it was Sasuke.

Team 10 meeting "Shikamaru" POV

Walking to the mission hall with my team I wanted to go back home and train I mean I started getting some more progress through with the Shadow Stitching Jutsu and managed to perform the Jutsu at last after depleting half of my Chakra trying but in the end after getting it once I got it a lot more until I couldn't move and it was still early morning at that point so my Mom stopped me from training for the rest of the day. I walk with Asuma-Sensei, Ino and Choji and if I looked at Ino she looked bigger, stronger I should say I don't want to get beat up but yea she gaining more defined muscles now so she must be really training and actually feeding her body than the fumes that she was on before. Even Choji himself looked better more like more ready to go into combat as he doesn't hesitate as much as before and if that fights for his friends he fights positively harder. But what I heard from the two when we both met up is that they both have been learning from there dad's as well more of there clan Jutsu and IMO has gained new mastery of Mind Body Switch Jutsu and of the Water Style: WaterBall Jutsu which is the Fire Style version but water.

Choji himself has mastered the Partial Expansion Jutsu himself which in all honesty surprised me to hell but shit I wasn't going to say it wasn't possible and in Wave I remember Kakashi-Sensei teaching Choji the Fire Syle: FireBall Jutsu and while being able to perform it he couldn't get it like Sasuke's but in the time span of about a week managed to improve very quickly like too quickly what the heck.

Anyways at this time I could estimate ourselves stronger then the versions of ourselves taking the first parts of the Chunin Exams maybe even of that of myself of the Finals which is a very good improvement and how long until then hmm. 3 or so months maybe a bit longer but that's it in about 2 months people will start to nominate Genin for promotion and if I'm honest I would definitely like to have more experience and skip this half of the Chunin Exams but…something tells me this world and my parents won't allow me to or more like my mother won't let me even if I said I wasn't ready…how can mothers detect there own Children so well even though I'm technically not her kid she can sometimes read me like a book that I have thrown in the trash and even burned and she could still read it.

Whatever will happen in these 3 months. Nothing should happen so it won't right…right…

"I think my team is ready for another C-Rank Mission." As that my hopes and dreams have been crushed as soon as Asuma-Sensei said that and he turned to us as I looked upon them to see Choji had steeped himself and Ino grasping her fist shut. I meanwhile just remained like a fish.

"You guys need to calm down it's just a normal C-Rank where we deliver a message to one of our Allie's the Sand at the border." I quickly relax at that though I wonder why can't the Hokage communicate from there and here with a bird…it may be for someone's business that also with the Sand or could be this is just a mission for the Ninja's to earn some simple money. Well I'm all for earning money…heh heh heh.

"Shikamaru…Shikamaru…Shikamaru!" I heard Ino yell in my ear as I flinch grabbing my ear and turning.

"What was with that weird look on your face." Ino looked quite disgusted but I just blanked I didn't think I was doing that outside of my mind. I see Asuma-Sensei and even Hokage-Sama staring at me weirdly. Well it seems like everyone thinks of me as a weirdo now…great.

Walking past the one of the entrances of Konoha though not being the main entrance as the Sand Village was in the direction past the Hokage Monument to the SouthWest part of the world map it is anyways we ran and used Trees to assist in our journey to the Sand as this trip normally is really long before you even get to the border like a couple days to get there as a Shinobi and maybe even more as a civilian. The border wasn't as close as it was to get to Wave and we weren't exactly rushed to get there we took it easier and learned basic survival skills in the wilderness because of Asuma-Sensei and though his Chakra Blades coated with Wind Chakra helps him with hunting food I don't know if my Lightning Chakra will help at all. It would start to cook the inside of the animal upon hitting it making the food uncooked and uneven leaving some part of the meat over cooked and some that weren't. It was honestly weird knowing that I had access to Lightning Chakra I fell as though I will get ripped into another world or back to my own world and if I do what would happen will another person take my place or original Shikamaru going to. But those are just what ifs I should stop thinking about that it'll just hurt my brain and I know I'm here for a reason that reason I might not no why but I do know im going to do everything in my future power to defend the leaf Village with all the assholes that have a problem with it. There's to many I swear.

Passing the days with more days of waiting for the Sand Team to get here they were seriously getting here a bit late aren't they? I mean what could these people be doing. Another day had passed and from what I kept count over the days we officially passed the 3 months until the Chunin Exams now it was like 2 months and 3 ½ weeks give or takes I just wanted to go back home and practice some more.

Seeing a team of Sand Shinobi finally getting here I wanted to jump with joy but seeing this team it was a normal team with 2 male genin and 1 kunoichi dressed specifically to combat the heat in the desert while the Jonin looked half like a mummy and the other half like you can't trust him. We had a brief stare down as we genin looked at each other trying to intimidate us as it seems. These genin were at least like what 17 I mean they look older than me when I was back in my old body. The stare down continued until Asuma-Sensei grabbed at his pouch and gave the Other Jonin the scroll and confirmed it real but not looking inside as they soon left the clearing.

I see Ino let out a silent breath while Choji looked at the way they went off from. Asuma-Sensei judged from there reactions that they had probably been expecting combat.

"You guys need to calm down, it's just a C-Rank mission…most C-Ranks if many or any get turned to an S-Rank like you guys went through." Asuma-Sensei looked at us as I saw Ino let her anxiety flow outside of her and Choji quit looking at the direction the nin left from. We all looked at Asuma-Sensei warily I mean anything can happen outside the village…pls don't nothing happened we're already past a week of being outside of the village.

We made it back to the Village yea and nothing happened I mean thank god encountering more ninja after the Land Of Waves mission oh that is so relieving. We walked into the village as Anbu popped into existence right at the side entrances and upon seeing Asuma-Sensei they back away and bowed and jumped out of existence or to us that couldn't see his speed. "Wow your respected by them is insane." Asuma-Sensei looked at me weirdly before turning irrationally walked away while he continued following.

"What's that's supposed to mean KID" I could see Asuma-Sensei stare at me trying to intimidate me but I just ignore him and let out a exasperated sigh which turned into a smile. His glare leveled on me as I continued to look away as my smile grew on my face. "Where are we going." Ino spoke out as Asuma-Sensei took the time and look around and see we were even farther from the Hokage's Building from we're we were. "Shikamaru I might have a greater dislike of you then I realize." I sputter as I almost breakdown in laughter at him but geez he made it so easy to not respect him. Asuma-Sensei just huffed and walked off to the Hokage's office as we follow behind him once more.

Team 7 Training ground Same Day…

Team 7 after completing over a total of 3 missions with teamwork training after was coming to an end now with marking of less than 3 months till the Chunin Exams he wanted to start the two of his other students on elemental Training with Sasuke and Naruto. Sakura meanwhile could maybe up what she has been doing now that they were cutting back on there missions now. Taking out the two pieces of papers out of his pouch and handing them to Naruto and Sasuke, Kakashi Hatake gave them both an eye smile and opened his one eye to see them giving him a questioning look.

"Um Kakashi-Sensei I'm not sure what you want us to do with this?" Narjto grasped at the paper looking at it at arms distance as he squinted trying to think.

"Oh…yea well these are Chakra Papers there used to find out what your natural nature affinity your chakra has kinda like Sasuke's Fire Style." Kakashi explained as Naruto and Sasuke who looked curiously at him while Sakura was a bit to engrossed in her book. Kakashi let out a sweat drop and tapped her shoulder to get her attention. Sakura cliched and looked apologetically at Kakashi and looked at both Sasuke and Naruto looking at her with there eyebrows raised.

Sakura blushed in embarrassment and said her apology. "Alright back to it you all are going to be training for the remainder of the next three months." Sakura now hearing this tilted her head while Naruto and Sasuke although curious on the reason for this type of training weren't going to pass the opportunity for them to get stronger.

"Oh…yea well I was thinking about sighting you guys into the Chunin Exams…IF…you meet my expectations after the 2nd month of training." Kakashi stopped as Sakura's eyes widened while Naruto and Sasuke tilted there heads in confusion.

"A-Are you sure we're ready to become Chunin Kakashi-Sensei I mean we only graduated not even 3 months ago." Sakura said her piece and while Naruto and Sasuke looked a bit saddened at the non belief of there teammate Kakashi broke the silence.

"Well no…not right now but when the Chunin Exams happen I'm going to whip you three into shape…we can't have Asuma's team beating you all so easily. They all brightened at there teacher and all had a bright teeth shown smile looking up at there teacher. They all seemed to be all thinking the same thing too.

"We Won't Let You Beat Us Again Shikamaru/Shikamaru-Kun"

Hokage Office "Shikamaru" POV

Achoo what was that I sneezed…I mean I haven't been sick since I got here and it would be a bad time to catch a cold now…maybe touching one of the dead animal corpses made me catch something I mean we both share amongst ourselves viruses our bodies can't protect against Humans and Animals. I mean that's why they tell you to wash your hands at Zoo's. But there was something different about that sneeze like something…I can't describe it but it felt like I was confirmed as someone's target? I don't really know.

But what I do know is that we just got paid sucka…and it's going to the fucking sword…I hate my life sometimes…what the hell im in the world of Shinobi's and here worrying about taxes and money what the fuck! Different worlds but some of the same old shit…I should stop my mothers would personally kick my behind I've they saw me talking like this.

Well my money coming to from the bag the Hokage gave me was in multiple pieces though there was a bill or two inside which meant…I little off the sword…dammit I only paid off 250,000 Ryo and I need half and I need the money I get from D-Ranks to use for my own things like extra pairs of clothes or just to keep an able amount of funds now because of that Wave mission we were caught off guard and we had to make our own boat which is sick and all but…we could have gotten there earlier. Well it's enough time thinking about the past as if you keep your mind on it like Kakashi-Sensei you might end up like him regrets and all.

Bar late night

It was late at night now the night sky covered all of Konoha as many of the normal people have fallen asleep and many others have been taken off and on duty for protection of the village though a fortunate few with the names of Asuma, Kakashi, Kurenai and Guy haven't been called to aid and now currently reside in a bar near the middle of the village.

They were sat in a circular table with them all sitting close to one another with the table not being that big all in size.

"Kakashi, My Rival I wanted to let you know that My YOUTHFUL Genin are going to make Chunin before yours will." Will many in the back of the bar recoiled and glares at the booming voice of Guy, Kakashi just seemed a bit dazed and asked if someone called him.

"Uh Kakashi you and your hip attitude!" Guy cried out as Kakashi soon turned to him and tilted his head.

"We're you talking to me..?" Kakashi couldn't help but act it was the slight smile on his face whenever he trolled Guy with his reactions and even though his senses were going off about a certain black haired Jonin with a beard ready to spew about his kids.

"Hah I bet more of my kids could make Chunin then yours can." Asuma let out a brief laugh as Guy eyed Asuma and even Kurenai looked at him regarding his statement.

"Actually I think you're a bit mistaken on who would gain the most of there pupils who would be getting a chance of getting a rank up." All eyes on the table looked at her in a curious gaze.

"Simply because my kids are going to destroy yours." The shocked faces of all the Joninat the table gave her an answer as she giggles as she drank a bit more from her cup.

"That's the Spirit Kurenai!" A wild woman came from behind Kurenai and hooked her with her arm and started to nudge her head with her fist like a midge.

"Hah Anko let me go!" At the raven haired girl call the new arrival Anko Mitarashi quit touching her friend and looked at the other Jonin at the table.

"So you all think your genin are all hot shit huh." Anko took a seat next to Kurenai who steaded herself with her hands on the table while the attention of the table was on Anko.

"Well I believe my team has the capabilities to be Chunin's especially with how good they are." Asuma let out a laugh and smirk as he took another swing of his beer causing him to slightly fall more into the realm of Drunkenness.

"Oh my you seem so confident why don't we bet on it huh." Kakashi urged the other Jonin at the table and they all looked skeptical at him.

"We're betting over genin?" Kurenai always the responsible one even in a near drunk state had to ask while Anko smirked and drank a whole pint in a minute flat.

"Hah I call Kurenai's genin and I put 50,000 Ryo on it." Anko smirk caused more people to start talking amongst there table.

"75,000 Ryo for my genin." Kakashi responded and Guy was alarmed and then smirked.

"Of course you would my eternal rival I bet 100,000 Ryo on my genin to not only win but become Chunin." Guy proclaimed loudly and Asuma smirked.

"All bets go to the winner right?" Everyone looked at Asuma and nodded "Well Daddy has been craving some new Trench knives recently. 70,000 Ryo on my genin." Asuma was sent a couple of competitive looks and he returned them with full force.

"Well I guess I must not be left out hmm 65,000 Ryo for my genin." Everyone currently sitting on the table currently just either had a smile of certainty or in Kakashi's case a competitive look which came from his unblocked eye.

They continued on with there ramblings until midnight when they couldn't drink anymore yes they all had two days away from there teams as they all asked them but getting wasted was one of the reason's for the call and now with this bet a few people are going to lose money but they all had certainty there teams would pull through.

'Heh C'mon Shikamaru I'm banking a lot on you, Choji and Ino so you better not disappoint'
