I just started high school so please forgive me if I don't continue this narrative.

Can't wait to hear your opinions...

Thank you:)

Prologue

"Are you sure you want to do this, Alma?" Esmeralda Avocet asked anxiously. Miss Peregrine sighed, pulling on her coat.

"I don't want to, but I have to."

"You have a choice."

"No," Alma said, "the wights have already attacked one Loop, and they will attack again. You know what Jack did to me. He would do anything to hurt me, and I can't risk him finding out about Esme."

As she said this, she knelt down to a little boy (no older than two in appearance) who was standing by the door. She helped him into a coat, while the older woman sighed in exasperation.

"And nothing will change your mind?" She asked. Alma shook her head.

"He will be safer in the normal world. Away from me. Once he's older and starts to manifest his peculiar ability, an American ymbryne will come to collect him," replied Miss Peregrine. "She will take him to her loop as her ward. And there he will be happy."

"So you're not going to have any contact?" questioned Miss Avocet, "Not even one clue about his heritage?"

Miss Peregrine straightened up, Esme in her arms, with a hurt look on her face. "You know ymbrynes are not supposed to have children."

Miss Avocet opened her mouth as if to say some thing, but seemed to think better of it, then shut it again. Her shoulders slumped slightly in defeat, saying, "If you think it's best, Alma. I must admit, even though I strongly disagree, he would be safe in America... Where will you take him?"

Alma glanced down at the little boy in her arms – who (being oblivious to their conversation) was dozing, his head on his mother's shoulder.

"I'm planning on taking him to Abe Portman. He has contacts within the foster system who can keep an eye on him," she said. Miss Avocet gave a small nod. Then she reached out a hand and stroked Esme's raven hair. The boy opened his eyes, which were the exact shape and color of his mother's.

"Now, you be good for your Mum. Okay?" she whispered to him. He nodded, and the old ymbryne smiled. Then she looked at Alma. "Stay safe," she said.

To be continued...(maybe)
