In a floating island also known as angel island, a 10-year-old red echidna is sitting on the master emerald altar. The echidna's name is knuckles. Knuckles has red fur, peach skin on his muzzle, a white crescent-shaped patch of fur on his chest, and purple eyes. He also has seven dreadlock-like spines on his head and a medium-sized, tri-crooked tail. For attire, Knuckles wears red and yellow shoes, each with green cuffs and a grey, sextuple-bolted plate on top. He also wears large, white, mitten-like gloves with sock-like cuffs and two spiked knuckles on each hand. He was bored and lonely out of his mind. He never knew what happened to his people. They just vanish. All of a sudden there was an explosion. Knuckles looked up and saw a blimp explosion, caught on fire, and people were falling. Knuckles ran to the fallen people. They were 2 grown-up hedgehogs with a basket and a bag. One is blue with brown head fluff and the other is a purplish-blue with yellow head fluff. Knuckles checked their pulse and found that they were both dead with little holes in their chest. It seems they were both shot before the explosion. Before he could investigate further there was crying. Knuckles turned to see it came from the basket. Knuckles slowly walked towards the basket and removed the blue blanket and found a baby hedgehog. The baby has blue fur, peach arms, muzzle. He has three quills on the back of his head, two spines protruding from his back behind his shoulders. Knuckles carefully picked up the baby hedgehog, wondering what to do. He turns to see a bag nearby. He looked in a see that it was some baby supplies. On the outside of the bag, the word Maurice was stitched on it. Knuckles looked at Maurice with sympathy. "So your name is Maurice huh." The baby made a noise signaling that he didn't like the name. "Oh,so you don't like your name? Okay I'll come up with something." While knuckles were thinking, sonic kicked his legs really fast which knuckles noticed. "How did you do that? You abnormal too? Looks like you have speed, want to see mine?" Knuckles put sonic down on a rock, walked to another rock and destroyed it with one punch. Sonic laughed and clamped. Knuckles turned back to the baby." You like that?" Knuckles smirked. " you know we could be a strength and speed duo. Since you don't like your name, I'll call you sonic." Sonic smiled and knuckles give sonic a sad smile. "You lost your people too?" Sonic's giggled and grabbed Knuckle's dreadlocks and played with them but did not pull on them. "It'll be okay. I'll take care of you.We'll keep each other company little guy, little sonic. Knuckles smiled grabbed the bag and went back to the master emerald altar with his new little brother.
