Gotham. A city known for the poor scavenging over the leftovers of the elites. Only one person cares about the cries of the suffering. When the spotlight of the bat symbol illuminates the night sky, it gives hope for the people and strikes fear for the criminals.

In one of the banks, a group of thugs with black zanni masks are doing a heist and have everyone as hostages. One of them looks outside. "Shit! Zan, we gotta hurry before the Bat arrives."

A man in a checkered suit has a gym bag filled with money. Their black dreads are tied up into a ponytail. They are wearing a zanni mask, but it has a comically long nose and lavender flower patterns.

Joker's Punchline

Zanni

"Grab what you can and let's go." They command.

"You heard the boss!" Their subordinates run outside to their vehicles and drive off.

Zan takes out a walkie-talkie. "Listen up. I need everyone to take different routes and we'll meet up at the extraction point."

"Roger that!" The other members agree and split up.

"Woohoo!" Zan's partner takes off his mask, revealing a short blonde haired young man.

Zanni's Voice of Reason

Gene Fitzpatrick

"What did I say about taking off your mask?" Zan groans.

"Come on, man? There's nothing to worry about. Plus, it gets hot under there." He fans his face.

"How much we got?" Zan asks.

Gene opens up the bag. "I'd say we hustled about five hundred thousand here. So about two mil in total."

"Grab a stack for yourself."

Gene looks surprised. "Are you sure? I don't want to get in trouble with you know who."

Zanni chuckles. "Don't worry. I doubt she'll miss ten thousand. I'll say we dropped some in a hurry. I know you need it for the surgery."

Gene grins. "Thank you, boss! I vouch for everyone by saying we're glad to serve under you."

Zan looks at the rear view mirror. "Put on your mask and seat belt. We got company."

Gene looks behind to see the Batmobile right on their tail. 'Fuck! It's the Bat!"

Zan changes to high gear and speeds towards the highway. Batman chases after them. They swerve around the cars. There's traffic up ahead. "Hold on tight!" He switches lanes towards oncoming vehicles. The cars turn and try to avoid them as they drive ahead, grazing some along the way. The cars pile up, that the Batmobile can't get through. Batman gets out and analyzes the license plate before checking on the civilians.

Zan finds an exit to go through and they stop in an alleyway close by. They hand Gene the bag. "Go run. I'll take it from here." He's unsure but follows orders.

After he's out of sight, Zan removes the mask and tosses it in the car. They check the rear view mirror to apply black lipstick. They untie their dread and put bells with the design of skulls on the tips. Making them look like a jester. They grab the can of gasoline from the trunk and pour it all over the car. They pull out a cigarette and light it. They take a puff before flicking it. The vehicle is set ablaze as they casually stroll the sidewalk.

The Batmobile stops next to them. Batman steps out and approaches Zan.

The Dark Knight

Batman

"WOAH! Batman!? I'm such a huge fan!" They grin.

He squints. "Have you seen a white Toyota speeding through here?"

They put their hands up. "I haven't seen anything. I just got out of the Comic Con." They point at the convention center down the road.

"May I see your identification?" He asks.

"Sure thing!" They hand over their driver's license. Batman looks at it when the car explodes in the distance. They turn towards the sound. "What was that!?"

He gives the ID back. "Find somewhere safe and be careful." He hops in his Batmobile and drives off.

Zan puts it in his back pocket. "Hmph. That was easy." They keep walking.

Looney Hideout

In the eastern outskirts of Gotham, there's an abandoned warehouse where their crew are hiding. Zan puts on a spare mask they had saved before stepping inside the building.

"The boss is here!" Everyone salutes them.

"I'm glad all of you made it in one piece." Zan says.

Gene runs up to them with a metal suitcase. "We've got all the money gathered here for the transfer." He hands it.

"Good. She should be here any minute now." As soon Zan finishes, a woman in an elaborate black Victorian dress walks in. She has her red floral umbrella on the waist. The mask is white with lily patterns. She's holding her own metal case.

Pantalone's Courtesan

La Signora

She looks around. "Ugh. Couldn't you have chosen a more…classy establishment?"

"I'm sorry, but this was the only vacant place available." Zan says.

She giggles. "It's fine. A fitting place for the roaches of society. Poetic wouldn't you say, Zanni boy?" The crew hang their heads down.

Zan crosses their arms. "Are you done?"

She sighs. "You're no fun." She gets up to Zan's face. "It's such a shame a man of your potential is wasted here."

They put the case on her chest. "I'm actually the life of the party. You're just never invited." They smirk.

She pouts and hands over the other case. "Hmph." She touches the suitcase, then smacks Gene's face with it. He cries in pain. "Do you take me for a fool? This feels lighter than we promised." She caresses it. "Hmm. I think…ten grand are missing." Even among the excruciating pain, Gene freezes up. Signora notices. She removes the cap from the tip of her umbrella, revealing a blade. She goes for the throat, but Zan firmly grabs her arm.

"We were being chased by Batman. Some of it flew off." They stare at one another for a moment.

"Is that so? I did hear the Bat was lurking around." She puts the cap on. "I guess I'll let Pantalone pitch in the rest. Tootaloo, street rats!" She finally leaves.

Zan helps Gene up. "You all right?"

"Y-Yeah. Urgh! I think my jaw is slightly dislocated." He massages his cheek. "Fucking bitch."

"You can say that again." They chuckle. "Okay, fellas. Today was a success! Let's celebrate by going home in one piece!" The crew cheer as they leave. Zan stays behind, making sure they're completely alone. "Now to check this baby out." They place the case on the desk and unlock it. Before opening it, the lights go out. Having a bad feeling, they pull out their phone to use it as a flashlight. "Ain't no way he's here."

A sound of a can dropping comes from their left. They shine the light on it as it rolls towards them. Zan then throws a punch from behind them, which Batman blocks it with his arm. He kicks them on the gut, giving them distance. "You're pretty sharp."

"Ooof. Misdirection. Oldest trick in the book." Zan says. Both of them go into their battle stance.

Yakuza Kiwami - Flirt with Bomb

Zan runs and jumps towards him. Batman side steps out of the way. Zan lands on their hands and break dances to sweep his legs, making him fall. They jump again to stomp on his face, but Batman rolls to avoid them and stands up. He punches their face, then grabs their torso and suplexes Zan. He gets on top of them and holds their arm. Using their flexibility, Zan wraps their legs around his chest and pulls him off.

They both stand and are about to fight again, when a voice starts talking. "What's taking that boy so long!? Open up already!" It's coming from the suitcase. Batman and Zan look at each other knowing full well who it is. However, Zan is more shocked, as they expected the case to be materials for their future Hideout.

They lower their stance and nod at Batman, who does the same and hides in the shadows. They open the case, revealing a monitor with the Big J himself. "Joker?"

"I swear. Keeping your boss waiting like that is punishable by death!" He cackled, then becomes serious. "What was the hold up?"

"Some thugs wandered around here thinking it was empty. I took care of them." Zan says.

He sighs. "Let me guess. They're still breathing? I told you many times that witnesses need to be…" he is silent for a moment. "You know Zanni, there's something I hate more than troublemakers. And that's liars! I know the Bat is there." He says menacingly. Zanni's body runs cold. "That's perfect! I wanted him to be there for the fireworks!" He pulls out a detonator. "Hate to see one of my best go down, but I'd be lying!" He laughs maniacally as he presses the button.

The monitor blows up on their face, sending Zan flying across the room. Batman checks up on them, luckily they're still breathing. The corners of the buildings explode and the structure is collapsing. He grabs them and rushes towards the door, but the beams fall, blocking the only way out. He looks around and sees an open window on the second floor. He uses the grappling hook to reach it. Another explosion goes off close to them, the force blasting both of them out of the building.

Batman lands on the ground first. He tries to get up, but Zan's unconscious body lands on top of him. "Eungh!" He quickly grabs them and limps his way to the Batmobile. He opens it, puts them in the back and hops in to drive away.
