Chapter 3
Kidnapping of the Princess
Ever since Unikitty had her race with Puppycorn, she ended up getting in a lot of trouble with Richard. Since it was his idea to race with Unikitty in the first place, Puppycorn started to feel guilty for his actions. While Hawkodile lectured Puppycorn for all the destruction he caused in the lab, Puppycorn was pretty sure that was a slap on the wrist compared to what Unikitty is going through with Richard.
A few minutes went by before Unikitty stepped out of the room. At that moment, Puppycorn rushed over to his friend to apologize to her.
"Unikitty, I'm really sorry! I hope I didn't get you in trouble!" Puppycorn hoped.
"Oh, don't worry about it, Puppycorn! Richard lectures me all the time, anyway!" Unikitty assured.
Richard soon floated into the room as well, after his lecture with Unikitty. He felt exhausted from cleaning up the damage Unikitty and Puppycorn caused to the lab. If that wasn't bad enough, Dr. Fox didn't even care that much about the lab, and focused more on improving the cloud car and trike to make them go faster. Richard swore that he was more upset about the lab than Dr. Fox was.
"Incredible! I can't believe you two were able to drive so fast!" Dr. Fox exclaimed. "With a few adjustments, I can make your vehicles go even faster!"
"Dr. Fox, please! It has been a long day! Hawkodile, can you please watch over the princess and Puppycorn to make sure they won't get into anymore trouble?" Richard asked.
"Don't worry, Rick! I promise they won't cause anymore trouble! Right, Puppycorn?" Hawkodile glanced over at his adoptive brother in suspicion.
Picking up on the hint, Puppycorn nodded. "Uh, sure! I promise to behave."
It was at that moment when Hawkodile decided to take Unikitty and Puppycorn outside so they can all see the kingdom together. Throughout their walk through the kingdom, Unikitty started greeting the citizens.
As she said hello to everyone, the citizens happily greeted Unikitty back as if they had been friends with her for years. Somehow, Puppycorn wasn't too surprised with how well Unikitty gets along with everyone, given her happy and social personality.
"Wow, Unikitty! It looks like you are friends with everyone in the kingdom!" Puppycorn said with a smile.
"I sure am! It's always nice to meet new friends, and I am happy that I got to have you as my newest friend, Puppycorn!" Unikitty replied.
As Unikitty continued to talk to everyone, Puppycorn gazed at her, thinking that she looked kind of cute. He soon blushed slightly before bringing his attention to Hawkodile.
"Hey, Hawkodile." Puppycorn whispered. "How do you know when you are in love?"
Assuming that Puppycorn was referring to him and Dr. Fox, Hawkodile rolled his eyes behind his shades.
"Very funny, champ! I told you a hundred times that I don't have a crush on Dr. Fox."
"No, that's not what I-" Puppycorn paused before he decided not to reveal his crush on Unikitty. "You know what? Never mind."
After talking to everyone in the kingdom, Unikitty decided to head to the park with her friends so they can all relax. While Unikitty and Puppycorn laid down on the grass to rest, Hawkodile stood on guard with a sword to fend off any attackers.
The park turned out to be peaceful, at least that's what Unikitty and Puppycorn believed. Hawkodile gripped his sword tightly, as if he was getting ready for a fight. This caused Unikitty and Puppycorn to share a couple of concerned looks with each other.
"What's wrong, Hawkodile?" Unikitty asked.
"Princess. Puppycorn. Both of you stay close to me! We are not alone!"
Hawkodile looked into the distance to see a bunch of cloaked figures. It was hard to see their faces since their hoods were up. Either way, Hawkodile could tell that they were here to cause trouble.
One by one, the cloaked figures charged Hawkodile to attack. Despite how many there were, Hawkodile fended them off with his sword to protect Unikitty and Puppycorn. Unfortunately, one of the strangers caught Hawkodile by surprise by shooting a fireball at him from his hands.
"Hawkodile!" Puppycorn gasped upon seeing Hawkodile on the ground with a singed mark on his chest.
"No so tough now, are you?" The cloaked figure who threw a fireball at Hawkodile taunted. "We'll be taking your princess now!"
The mysterious strangers then approached Unikitty, but Puppycorn stepped in front of her to protect her. This didn't do any good as one of the strangers slapped Puppycoorn out of the way before grabbing Unikitty.
"Unikitty!" Puppycorn watched in shock as the strangers dragged Unikitty in a nearby forest.
"Oh, no! They took her into Action Forest!" Hawkodile struggled to get up, but fell back down from his wound.
Upon seeing Hawkodile hurt, Puppycorn came rushing to his aid. "Hawkodile, are you okay?"
"I don't think so, champ! That guy really caught me by surprise. Go back to the castle and get some help."
Instead of listening to Hawkodile, Puppycorn brought his attention over to the sword Hawkodile dropped. He knew that he couldn't let the doom lords kidnap his friend, so Puppycorn made his decision. The dog rushed over to the sword and grabbed it before he ran towards the forest.
"Wait! Where are you going? Puppycorn!" Hawkodile yelled towards Puppycorn, but it was too late as Puppycorn made his way into the forest.
The sword Puppycorn carried was a lot heavier than he thought it would be. Despite that, Puppycorn kept on going as he traveled deeper in the forest. Things somehow got a lot more dangerous when Puppycorn noticed bombs hanging from the trees. Not wanting to get blown up, Puppycorn picked up the pace and continued his search.
It wasn't long before Puppycorn made his way into a clearing. Here, he found Unikitty, who was bound and gagged.
"Unikitty!" Puppycorn rushed over towards Unikitty.
"Phpphchrn!" Unikitty smiled behind her gag, happy that Puppycoorn came to save her.
"Don't worry, Unikitty! I'm here to save you!"
Before Puppycorn could untie Unikitty, the cloaked figures stood in his way. At first, Puppycorn was surprised by this, but he realized the sword in defense, despite how heavy it was.
"So, not even the bodyguard of the princess could defeat us, so you are going to fight us instead?" One of the strangers laughed. "Ooh! I'm so scared!"
"L-Let go of Unikitty!" Puppycorn stuttered, the sword shaking in his paws.
"Are we really supposed to be afraid of a little pup?" Another cloaked stranger mocked. "Let's get rid of the dog so we can take the princess back to Frown Town!"
At that moment, Puppycorn found himself surrounded by the strangers. In desperation, Puppycorn struggled to even lift the sword. Right as he lifted the sword, a bomb fell from one of the trees. Puppycorn soon swung the sword, knocking the bomb at the strangers.
This ended up knocking the strangers on the ground. Using what little strength they had left, they slowly got up from the ground, shocked by the impact of the bomb.
"He's too strong! Let's get out of here!"
The cloaked figures soon ran out of the forest in an effort to get away from Puppycorn. However, one of them tripped and was left behind by his so called friends.
"Wait! Take me with you!"
Before the stranger could get back up, he looked up to see Hawkodile staring down at him in anger. He grabbed the stranger by the cloak, and removed his hood, revealing the stranger to be Master Frown.
Honestly, Puppycorn wasn't too surprised that a jerk like Master Frown would be one of the strangers who kidnapped Unikitty. Puppycorn didn't have time to think about it as he rushed over to free Unikitty. As soon as he untied her, Unikitty embraced Puppycorn in a hug.
"Thank you so much for saving me, Puppycorn! You were really brave!" Unikitty exclaimed before she kissed Puppycorn on the cheek.
This caused Puppycorn to blush as he stuttered "Uh, n-no problem U-Unikitty!"
"I have to admit, even I'm impressed with how you handled those guys!" Hawkodile smiled. "You know, maybe you can join me in protecting the princess!"
"Wow! You really mean it?" Puppycorn happily wagged his tail.
Hawkodile nodded. "Of course, but we might want to find a sword that is not so heavy for you. Before we do anything else, we need to throw Frown in the dungeon for attempting to kidnap the princess." Hawkodile said as he brought his attention to Master Frown.
Master Frown struggled as Hawkodile maintained his tight grip on him. "Don't think that this is over! The doom lords would come back for me and we will have our revenge!"
Unfazed by Master Frown's threats, Hawkodile turned and led everyone out of the forest. As he walked back to the castle, Puppycorn was left wondering who those doom lords were. If he did end up being Unikitty's knight, there was no doubt that he would have to fight them again.
Meanwhile at Frown Town, the doom lords rushed over to their lair to give their leader the bad news. They opened the doors to the lair before removed their hoods, revealing themselves to be a fire type of doom lord named, Master Hazard, a doom lord with a tear drop for a head named, Master Fear, and a doom lord with a paper hat on his head named, Master Papercuts.
"Master Doom, we failed to capture the princess!" Master Hazard spoke up.
"And we lost Master Frown too." Master Fear explained.
"Please don't hurt us!" Master Papercuts trembled, terrified of the leader.
From the darkness stepped out a doom lord who towered above the rest. She glared at the doom lords, frustrated that they failed their mission.
"Fools! Kidnapping the princess was our one chance to take over the kingdom! You idiots had one job to do, and you couldn't even capture the princess?!" Master Doom yelled.
"To be fair, it wasn't completely our fault! Master Fear defended. "That blue dog was the one who messed with our plan!"
"Blue dog?" Master Doom repeated. "I won't let some worthless mutt sabotage our plans to take over the kingdom!"
At that moment, Master Doom turned to face the rest of the doom lords.
"Doom lords, our previous plan to kidnap the princess might have failed, but I now have a new plan! We will travel to the Unikingdom and take over the kingdom by force." An evil grin soon formed across Master Doom's face. "And if we have to destroy that dog to do it, so be it!"
