Two years had passed since that day which had forever changed the course of history as everyone knew it. Two years since the heritage of both Portgas D. Ace and Monkey D. Luffy was revealed to the entire world. Two years since the final words uttered by Whitebeard which consisted of "The One Piece is real." This day was known to the world as 'The Summit War of Marineford', a war which was between the Whitebeard Pirates and the Marines as well as when the execution of Portgas D. Ace had taken place. Many lives had been lost that day.
Although the Marines had won that day, the events following after however did not have the results they were hoping for. As the final words spoken by Whitebeard right before he died had caused many pirates to sail in pursuit of the famous treasure One Piece. His words had caused the gap to only increase between Pirates and the Navy. No one was truly ready for the beginning of the new age of Piracy.
If only Roger was alive to see how much of an impact his treasure would leave in the world of Piracy. The One Piece, a treasure left behind by Gol D. Roger the Pirate King himself had resulted in multiple people going off in search of his treasure only to end up getting cocky leading to their demise. That's what happens nowadays when you give someone a bounty, the person in question lets the power go to their head, thinking they are somehow invincible only to be proven wrong quickly in their journey.
A lot has happened in the world of Piracy in the past two years. Marshall D. Teach, also known as Blackbeard has become a notorious figure for two reasons, one; he has become an Emperor taking Whitebeard's place, and two; he has been attacking and killing any Devil Fruit users he can find so he can steal their abilities in order to gain more power. Buggy the Clown has been acknowledged as one of the Seven Warlords. Another notorious Pirate who has gained more fame is Trafalgar Law one who used to be one of the members of the Worst Generation now a member of the Seven Warlords due to sending a hundred hearts belonging to Pirates to Marineford and now with a higher bounty consisting of $440, 000, 000, over double than it was before.
Although there is one figure who has gained the most attention in the world and that is Strawhat Luffy. A boy only seventeen years of age who was known as the first person to break out of Impel Down, breaking out many prisoners in the process and had managed to infiltrate Marineford, something no has done before in the course of history. Two weeks after the War ended he managed to infiltrate Marineford a second time, ringing the Ox Bell at least sixteen times with a tattoo on his wrist with the words '3D2Y'. Anyone could see it was a secret message to send to his crew but no one could figure out the actual meaning behind those four symbols. That was the last time Monkey D. Luffy has shown his face as after that no one has heard anything regarding the whereabouts of the Strawhat Pirates. It was like the entire group vanished in a blink of an eye for the entirety of two whole years.
On a small trading boat sailing in the middle of the ocean in the Grand Line. People were running around getting everything ready for when they landed at their destination. It was a beautiful day which was rare to experience when out sailing in the oceans of the Grand Line.
Jeffery, one of the workers was carrying a crate in his arms as he walked across the deck. He was in his mid-thirties with shaggy brown hair and sun-kissed skin. He dropped the crate on the ground a couple of feet away from the mast, as he wiped the sweat off his brow with his arm. As he was about to go back inside to grab another crate he stopped and took a couple of steps back and stared down at the figure sleeping in front of the said mast.
"Hey miss." Jeffery said as he stood in front of the girl trying to get her attention. He has never seen this girl before in his life. In fact the girl shouldn't even be on this ship in the first place since this was a trading ship not a passenger ship. The only people who should be aboard are the captain and the other workers. The girl was sitting down on the front deck leaning against the mast with her arms behind her head, eyes closed and her knee propped up on the other. She had long straight blonde hair tied up in a loose ponytail with lightly tanned skin. She was wearing a baggy pastel blue hoodie with black shorts and a bright orange pouch buckled around her right thigh. While beside her on the left was a blue backpack lying on the ground.
There was no reply nor did the girl show any type of movement.
"Hey miss." Jeffery said again a little louder.
Again there was no reply. Was this girl that deep in sleep that she couldn't wake up to the sound of someone shouting? It's a miracle the girl hasn't woken up to the ruckus going on around them.
"Hey miss, wake up!" Jeffery shouted as he crossed his arms with a frown on his face. He didn't have all day, there was work here to be done.
"Quit shouting, I can hear you just fine. Are you trying to blow my eardrums out?" The girl finally replied with a sigh as she popped one bright green eye as she looked up at him with a smirk. "Besides who said I was sleeping?"
He looked down at the girl as he placed his hands on his hips. "I wouldn't have to shout if you had said something the first time I was trying to get your attention."
The girl stood up, yawning as she stretched her arms "Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Just go on and say whatever it is you were going to say."
Jeffery shook his head with a sigh. The nerve of this girl. "I was going to say that we will be landing at Sabaody Archipelago soon."
She nodded her head. "Thanks for the heads up I guess."
"No problem. How did you get on this ship anyway? We've been sailing for at least three weeks, someone should've seen you by now."
The girl giggled. "That's for me to know and for you to never know."
Just as Jeffery was right about to leave as he gave up on getting any type of information from the girl, she grabbed his wrist, stopping him in place. "Did the news say anything about new information regarding either the Strawhat Pirates or the Revolutionaries?" The girl asked with a smile.
Why would she want to know about the Strawhats or the Revolutionaries for that matter? Jeffrey shook his head as he answered. "Sorry I'm afraid there was nothing in the latest newspaper saying anything about the Strawhats but it did say that 'The Tanuki' was spotted recently causing trouble at a nearby Marine Base. You would think they would have caught her by now."
For some reason that last bit of information about 'The Tanuki' seemed to make her smile even bigger as she let go of his wrist. "Did it mention something about getting a new bounty poster?" She asked all excitedly.
"No, I'm pretty sure it said that it was still resting at $1,150,000,000."
Jeffery was sure he saw her face fall. This girl was different from all the other girls Jeffery has met.
"Oh." The girl frowned for a quick second before smiling again as she shrugged her shoulders. "That's okay. I was just wondering since my brother wanted me to see if I could find out anything about the whereabouts of the Strawhats." She already knew the location of one of the Strawhats anyways but wasn't going to reveal it to him.
He raised an eyebrow. "Are you a fan of Pirates or the Revolutionaries kid?"
She scowled, clenching her hands into fists. "No actually I could care less about Pirates. They're nothing but scum who get off on killing innocents and destroying the lives of people while the Marines do nothing to stop them. It's just that my job requires learning and keeping tabs on Pirate groups." She swung her backpack over her shoulder as she walked towards the ship's railing. Jeffery followed behind her but made sure to keep a few feet of distance away from her.
"As for the Revolutionaries. To me they are the only organization out there that actually wants to help change the world for the better. Without them the world would have ended up worse than it already is as they seem to be the only ones standing up to the tyranny of the World Nobles, Marines, and Pirates. The only exceptions of Pirates that I have any respect for are the Red Haired Pirates and the Strawhats." There was a fondness in her tone as she continued speaking.
"I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you kid." Jeffery crossed his arms over his chest.
"Why is that?"
"No one has seen any of the Strawhats in over two years. Odds are they're dead by now. Especially that captain of theirs. All they are is a bunch of kids who know nothing about being a Pirate. If they aren't already dead and they do end up miraculously making it into the New World, they will probably end up dead in less than a couple of months. Pathetic." He spat.
"Land ho!" One of the workers shouted in the background. Just as Jeffery was about to get back to work the girl started to speak. "You're wrong."
All of a sudden it was like the air in the atmosphere changed as the girl continued speaking. "You're wrong about the Strawhats. They're alive out there, I just know it. It may be days or even months but they will return and they will make it to the New World. You shouldn't underestimate their captain as he belongs to the D clan and people who bear that sacred initial in their names are born fighters. After all we defy the course the hands of fate lays down for us. We will change the very world as you know it and no one in this world will ever see it coming." She laughed as she turned around to face Jeffery, spreading her arms out to the sides with a smile in the shape of a 'D' while her eyes showed promise. The way she spoke made Jeffery believe in what she was telling him.
"Thanks for the ride, mister." As she thanked him, her body turned into beautiful pink cherry blossoms that blew in the wind. No girl insight.
Getting over his shock he ran to the railing, trying to see if he could spot her as he shouted. "Wait, come back. What do you mean by changing the world? At least tell me who you are?!" But he was too late as the only trace remaining of the girl was the sound of her laughter.
At the same time his boss showed up with his usual clipboard and pen in hand. "Jeffery quit lollygagging and get back to work. We have a tight schedule here!" His boss shouted.
Jeffery jumped as he quickly turned to face his boss with wide eyes. "But boss there was this girl. She said Strawhat will return soon and then she-she just disappeared out of thin air."
His boss didn't seem to buy his story as he scowled. " Jeffrey I don't know what you think you saw but there was never any girl on this ship, not now, not ever. This ship has only men. Now I'm not going to tell you this again; get back to work or it's going to be your paycheck that's going to disappear. Do I make myself clear?!"
"Yes sir!" Jeffery shouted back with a salute.
