TW: Yep. I replaced Malcolm with Alexander Pierce because I hated Malcolm's cameo in 5x17. It took my suspicion of disbelief to a ridiculous level.
LeodredAQW: Oliver definitely has something he can use against Hydra. Three years of training Oliver, and Dragon still doesn't understand just how dangerous Oliver is. Well, hope I delivered then.
Lian Yu
Mid-day
"The name of the island they found me on is Lian Yu. It's Mandarin for Purgatory."
"So, how does it feel being back on the island Oliver?" Dragon asked smugly as he walked off the plane, Oliver, in handcuffs, waiting with several other Hydra agents.
"Why bring me back here?" Oliver asked, not responding to Dragon's taught.
"Romanoff leaked most of the Intel on the SHIELD server onto the internet yesterday, but she heavily decrypted most of the files of anyone she knew for sure was SHIELD. And even if she hadn't, revealing you were a SHIELD agent risks shinning a light on Hydra operations. Much simpler if you're just a castaway that Hydra got their hands on," Dragon explained as he reached the group.
"Still, why Lian Yu?" Oliver asked, not understanding.
"You know that the Chinese used to use this as a prison, right?" Dragon asked and Oliver understood.
"Let me guess, a Hydra front?" Oliver said dryly and Dragon smirked.
"Bingo, Oliver. Now, take him to the cells. I have a phone call to make to Walter Steel," Dragon said, turning away from Oliver and beginning to walk off. "Any message you want Walter to give Mommy and Baby Sis? It's not like you're gonna see them again anyway."
Oliver glared at Dragon's retreating back, feeling his hatred for the man grow as he heard the veiled threat against his family, which he supposed now included Walter. But his mother's remarriage would have to be something he would consider at another time, he mused as he felt the Hydra agents begin to forcibly lead him away. He had to get out and deal with Dragon. Preferably, before he could inform his superiors about Xavier's school. Last thing anyone wanted was Hydra getting their hands on the mutants there.

At a completely different safe house than the one he had been attacked at, Clint stitched himself up after pulling the bullet he had been shot with out of his arm, his mind still racing with everything he had learned.
He had easily managed to get the upper hand on his attackers, managing to eliminate all but one, who he had…coerced into telling him what the Hell was going on. And it had taken him a few minutes to let it all sink in.
Hydra. He almost hadn't believed it until Nat had leaked all the data from SHIELD. So Clint had been forced to bail after killing the last Hydra operative, heading to a safe house he knew wasn't on any SHIELD files. Laura had tried calling him a few times but Clint hadn't answered, still not sure Hydra wasn't tracking his phone. The last thing he wanted was for Hydra to find out about his family. So he had ditched it before heading here.
Clint then tensed, hearing something. Clint grabbed his bow, disappearing into the shadows. It might be nothing, but with Hydra out in the open, it was better safe than sorry.
Clint waited, silent as he took aim. After a few moments, the door opened and he nearly dropped the bow in relief as he saw who it was.
"Nat," Clint said, stepping into view, lowering his bow and Natasha looked towards hm.
"Clint, thank God," Natasha said in relief.
Natasha surprised Clint by running towards him and throwing her arms around him. But Clint returned the hug, musing it was a weird time.
"Laura's been calling me, worried about you. I figured you'd show up here if you were in DC," Natasha said as she pulled back.
"Just got back before everything went to Hell. Wasn't sure if Hydra was tracking our phones, so I ditched mine a few hours before I got here," Clint explained.
"They won't be, they'll be too busy trying to cover their losses," Natasha said and Clint raised an eyebrow. "It's kind of a long story."
"Hey, you think this is nuts, I spent the last few days trying to stop a rogue military scientist," Clint said dryly.
"Well, I guess it's time to we compare notes."
At the sound of the voice, Clint looked back towards the door, stunned to see Nick Fury walking through it.
"Because I'm rather interested to know what went down with Chuck's school," Fury noted.

Later that day
In a cell, Oliver sat in a chair, his hands cuffed behind his seat. A guard was in his cell with him, smirking down at him. Oliver knew there were at least three more stationed out the prison. Oliver closed his eyes, calling upon a memory of when he had been in a very similar situation.
Four years earlier
When Oliver came to, he was bound to a chair with rope. Slade was taking a drink when he turned around, seeing Oliver was awake. Sorry. It's nothing personal," Slade said, beginning to make his way over to Oliver . "The airfield is a very heavily fortified position. I've been there. And I cannot take it on my own." Slade then drew one of his swords and placed it at Oliver's neck.
"So-so what?! Huh? You're just going to kill me?" Oliver exclaimed, letting out a small whimper when Slade pressed the blade slightly into his neck.
"Like I said, it's nothing personal. But if you're alive, they will find you. And if they find you, they will torture you until you give up my location, and I cannot allow for that to happen," Slade snapped as Oliver continued to struggle against his binds.
"Hey, no wait!" Oliver exclaimed as he shot to his feet. "No, please don't do this, all right?! I'm not going to say anything to that-"
Slade, annoyed, forced him back into the chair.
"Don't make it more difficult upon yourself. I can do this in a way that you will not feel it at all," Slade promised as he began approaching.
Oliver continued trying to free himself, twisting one of his hands and there was a loud crack. Oliver cried out in pain, realizing he had dislocated his thumb. Managing to free his hands, Oliver jumped to his feet and slugged the surprised Slade.
In the present, Oliver opened his eyes, looking back at the Hydra agent in his cell, who only smirked.
"Can I ask you a question?" Oliver asked and the Hydra agent shrugged.
"Not gonna get you out of here, but go ahead."
"Do you have children?" Oliver asked, surprising the Hydra agent.
"No," the Hydra agent said, not sure where he was going with this.
"I did, almost. I'm sure by now; most of Hydra knows that Bobbi Morse was pregnant with my child in Russia before our safe house was blown to Hell. Before your buddy Dragon called Kovar and told him where our safe house was," Oliver said, his voice growing colder and angrier as he spoke. "When Bobbi told me she was pregnant, I felt something I hadn't felt in a long time: a semblance of hope. Hope that my life could be…different. Hope that I didn't have to be a son, bound forever to his father's dying wish to return home and right his wrongs. And Dragon took that from me. Stole that from me. KILLED THAT FROM ME!"
The Hydra agent almost jumped at Oliver's unexpected outburst before Oliver lifted his head, his eyes filled with murderous rage and a desire for vengeance.
"And now, I'm going to give you something Hydra never gave me: a choice. You can either tell me where Richard Dragon is and be spared. OR YOU CAN DIE, SCREAMING ALONGSIDE HIM!"
"You're insane. You're cuffed to that chair," the Hydra agent laughed at Oliver before he heard the sounds of the cuffs falling to the floor.
"Really?" Oliver asked calmly, putting his thumbs back in place before lifting his now free hands.
Shocked, the Hydra agent immediately lifted his gun but never got the chance to fire off a shot. Oliver jumped from his chair and tackled the Hydra agent, easily disarming him before grabbing him by his neck, slamming him face first against the bars of the cell.
"Where is Dragon?" Oliver demanded.
"He's loose! Queen is loose!" the Hydra agent called out instead of answering.
Oliver pulled the Hydra agent back as three others burst into the prison. Even behind his cell, Oliver knew they'd open fire and was proven right when they did so. Oliver used the other Hydra agent as a shield and they riddled him with bullets, either unconcerned about his safety or not caring. They stopped and Oliver pushed him away and ducked to the floor, grabbing the gun before, with a kick, he had opened the door to his cell.
Upon emerging from his cell, Oliver fired, killing two of the three Hydra agents. The remaining one fired at him but Oliver ducked before firing twice. His first shot hit the Hydra's hand, knocking his gun out of it while Oliver's second shot hit him in the leg. The unexpected blow caused him to go down to the ground, clutching his wounded leg. Oliver was then there, stamping on his wounded knee and the Hydra agent cried out in agony.
"Where is Dragon? Your answer will determine how painfully you die," Oliver said, his voice lacking all emotion.
"I don't know, I swear," the Hydra agent said before Oliver struck him across the face with the barrel of his gun.
"I was trained in torture by Natasha Romanoff. You have ten seconds to tell me something I believe before I start showing you what she taught me," Oliver said, stomping on the man's leg again for good measure.
"I don't know where he is, I swear! It was need to know!" the Hydra said in pain.
"Fair enough," Oliver said before firing, getting the Hydra agent in the head and killing him instantly.
His job done, Oliver turned and ran out of the prison, in search of his target.

"Well, sounds like you've had an exciting mission," Natasha noted once the three of them had compared notes.
"So did you. You were dealing with Hydra. And you," Clint noted as he looked over at Fury. "I thought you were dead."
"I wasn't sure who to trust, with good reason it turned out," Fury pointed out and Clint sighed.
"Would like to be pissed but I get it. This whole thing is nuts," Clint muttered.
"Have you heard from Oliver since this went down?" Natasha inquired and Clint shook his head.
"No, we split up just before things went to Hell. I was hoping you'd heard from him," Clint said and she shook her head regretfully. "You don't think he's…"
"No. He's too valuable an asset for Hydra to cross off," Fury said and the two looked over at him. "Queen Consolidated has more than a few projects Hydra would be interested in. If they can take him alive, Oliver makes the perfect bargaining chip."
"So they'd need to get in contact with either his mother or Walter Steele," Natasha noted.
"Either one works fine, a mother who finds out her son is dead after five years will do anything to get him back. And since Walter Steele is married to Moira Queen, he'd do anything to get Oliver back," Clint noted. "But they'd need to set him up somewhere, somewhere that any surviving SHIELD agents wouldn't be able to find him."
"He could be anywhere," Natasha agreed and it was silent for a moment.
"I think I might know a way to find him," Fury said and they glanced at him again. "We need to head to New York."

Not long after
In the spot where Edward Fyers had set up camp, Dragon was on his cell phone, talking to someone from Queen Consolidated.
"I need to speak with Walter Steele. Tell him I have information about what happened to the Queen's Gambit," Dragon was saying when another Hydra agent walked up behind him.
"Sir, there's a problem," the Hydra agent said and Dragon turned him. "We heard gun shots by the cells, so I sent some men to investigate. They found the agents who took Queen to the cell all dead and Queen is missing."
Dragon swore, ending the call as his mind raced, trying to remember what he knew about Oliver's time on the island, trying to think of anything that would be useful.
"Oliver spent a lot of time here in a fuselage west of here," Dragon told the agent. "He might go there."
"They'll be close to there, I tell them to check it out," the agent said.
As the agent pulled out a radio to do just that, Dragon went back to his cell phone. It would be pointless to try and bargain with Walter while Oliver was on the loose. Clicking an app on his phone, Dragon immediately set it up. He smiled at he saw a timer begin to count down from thirty minutes.
"Sir, what's that?" the agent asked as he turned back to Dragon, seeing this.
"A countdown. Our plane has a failsafe built in: a bomb. If I don't cancel that countdown, it explodes. If Oliver thinks he can take the plane and leave us here, he has another thing coming," Dragon said with a smirk.
At the Fuselage, Oliver entered it, finding it exactly as he had left it there years ago. But now wasn't the time for a trip down memory lane.
Oliver went for the trunk he, Slade and Shado had kept, hoping to find some weapon Slade had left behind. As he opened it, he was startled to see his father's book on top.
"Make it home, make it better. Right my wrongs."
"You can save this city."
Oliver banished the memories, knowing he needed to focus. Putting the book aside, he began looking for a weapon when he heard the click of a gun. He turned his head slightly, seeing three Hydra agents, all with guns aimed at his back, had entered the Fuselage.
"That's enough, Queen. Back away from the trunk. Slowly," one of them ordered.
After a moment, Oliver appeared to slowly begin backing away only to whirl around and throw a dagger he had taken from the trunk. Oliver ducked as two of the Hydra agents opened fire while the third gasped, the dagger embedded in his jugular. The third fell down as Oliver returned fire, getting another in the head before delivering a swift kick to the legs of the last Hydra agent, knocking him off his feet. As the Hydra agent fell, Oliver quickly disarmed him with a blow to his hand before he managed to get behind him, wrapping his arms around the Hydra agent's neck.
"Twitch and I will snap your neck like a twig," Oliver growled in his ear. "Where is Dragon?"
"Hail Hydra," the agent said before slamming his cheek roughly against Oliver's shoulder.
Oliver quickly realized it wasn't to escape as he heard the man gag. Oliver let him go, standing and watching as foam began filling the man's mouth before he stilled, eyes staring without seeing.
"Cyanide. Guess Hydra's tactics haven't changed in seven decades," Oliver muttered.
Walking over to the Hydra agent he had killed with the dagger, Oliver removed it from the throat and began cleaning it, knowing he would need it when he saw something. Kneeling down, he pulled off a radio communicator similar to the ones he had seen Fyers use. Getting an idea, he turned it on.
"This is Oliver Queen. I've already killed seven Hydra agents, and I will continue to kill more until I find Richard Dragon. Ask yourselves something: how many of you is he willing to let die until he comes out to face me himself?"
Oliver then dropped the radio before exiting the fuselage, determined to find his enemy and end this.
"He is rather brilliant," Dragon noted, him and a few other Hydra agents having listened to Oliver's message. "Attempting to turn my own men against me by calling me a coward who would let them die instead of facing him myself."
"Sir?" a Hydra agent asked as Dragon turned around to face them.
"Tell any agents we still have out there we're going to meet them on the ground and find Oliver Queen. It's time to end this."
"So, Dragon's gonna meet us out here then?" one Hydra agent asked another five minutes after Dragon's message had been relayed, the two walking around the island in search of Oliver. "Hard to believe one spoiled reach kid is the one behind all this."
Out of view of the Hydra agents, Oliver watched them before using his dagger to cut some rope.
Hearing a sound, the two Hydra agent looked up as a log with a spike on one end came falling towards them, impaling one in the chest and knocking one to the ground. As the surviving Hydra agent tried to process what had just happened, Oliver ran up behind him, putting him in a chokehold.
"Yeah, one spoiled rich kid is giving you this much trouble," Oliver said coolly before bending the agent's head backwards.
There was a sickening crack and Oliver let the body fall to the ground. He turned to look at the other Hydra agent's body, pinned to the log when he heard a clapping sound.
"Nicely done Oliver," Dragon said as he walked into view, several other Hydra agents flanking him. "But it's over. You can't take us all on."
"I know," Oliver acknowledged before, to their surprise, he turned and ran.
"After him!" Dragon ordered before they all took off in pursuit of Oliver.
For a minute, they raced through the forest, trying to catch up to Oliver, some of them opening fire but Oliver either ducked or the bullet ended up in a tree. Dragon was trying to figure out Oliver's plan when he heard a click behind him. He turned around, seeing all his Hydra agent had frozen, one of them looking at the ground beneath him. Realization washed over Dragon as he looked back towards Oliver, who had pulled out his gun.
Dragon attempted to rush out of the way but Oliver fired, getting the Hydra agent who had stepped off the landmine in the head. The now dead agent fell forward, stepping off the mine and it went off in an explosion.
The force of the explosion threw Dragon back and he hit a tree back first before falling down, groaning in pain. There was a slight ringing in his one ear and he felt several aches over his body. Looking up, he all his men were dead, killed in the explosion. Hearing a cock of a gun, Dragon looked up, seeing Oliver standing over him, aiming the gun at him.
"I thought you didn't like guns, Oliver," Dragon noted.
"I don't. I never said I couldn't use one," Oliver said calmly, his voice and face devoid of all emotion. "Richard Dragon, you have failed SHIELD."
Oliver pulled the trigger but the only thing that happened was the click of the gun. Dragon almost laughed as he realized what had happened.
"Looks like you're out of bullets," Dragon said as he managed to pull himself to his feet. "Shame, it almost looked like you were going to win."
"You're already celebrating before the bell is rung," Oliver said, tossing his gun away.
"You think you can beat me? Don't forget, I taught you everything you know," Dragon pointed out and Oliver smiled unpleasantly.
"Not everything."
"Well then, let's see what you're made of Oliver," Dragon mocked.
Oliver launched himself at Dragon, trying to strike him but Dragon easily blocked. They traded a few blows, most of which Dragon blocked before Oliver grabbed his fist and slipped him over his shoulder. Dragon performed a handstand, flipping himself back onto his feet before catching the surprised Oliver's fist.
"Like I said Oliver, you can't beat me," Dragon mocked.
"We'll see," Oliver growled.
Oliver then elbowed the surprised Dragon in the face before following up with a kick to Dragon's abdomen. Oliver attempted to deliver a kick to Dragon's face but Dragon rolled out of the way.
"What the Hell are you doing?" Dragon grunted as he got back to his feet.
"Fighting dirty. Something I learned from Natasha. Maybe it's escaped your notice, but you weren't my only teacher. Let me show you how they taught me how to fight," Oliver said coolly.
Oliver rushed forward and jumped into the air. He landed on Dragon's shoulders, wrapping his legs around Dragon's neck and, with a yank, pulled Dragon down to the ground. However, Dragon quickly freed himself before getting behind Oliver, wrapping his neck in a chokehold. Oliver struggled futilely but found himself unable to free himself.
"Sorry Oliver, but like I said, you can't beat me," Dragon whispered mockingly in Oliver's ear. "But don't worry, you'll still live long enough for your family to find out you're still alive. And once it's over, maybe I'll send your body back to Starling City."
"Like I said, you shouldn't count your victory before the fight is over," Oliver grunted against Dragon's grip.
From under his sleeve, Oliver then drew the dagger he had taken from the fuselage and stabbed backwards, jabbing it into Dragon's eye. Dragon let out a blood curdling scream of agony as Oliver then pulled the dagger out before he managed to free himself and sending a punch to Dragon's chest.
Dragon clutched his hand to his face, blood pouring down it as Oliver approached.
"You taught me most of what I know about fighting, you're right. But the people I met here taught me how to survive," Oliver said coolly. "You'll be just another enemy who tried and failed to kill me. And this…is for Bobbi and our baby."
Dragon looked up at Oliver just before Oliver stabbed the dagger into Dragon's heart. Dragon gasped in pain before Oliver removed the dagger. Dragon slumped to the ground, his head turning, his one remaining eye staring without seeing.
The only sound in the forest for a moment was Oliver heavy breathing before a loud bang was heard. Oliver looked around wildly before seeing smoke rising from where the plane had landed. A sinking feeling entering his heart, Oliver dropped the dagger before running towards it.
Upon reaching the spot where the plane had landed, Oliver stared in dismay at the wreckage, seeing the plane had exploded. Once again, he was trapped on this island with no way off.
Well, that was intense.
Hope you all enjoyed the fight scenes.
We're almost to the end of the story. We'll have one more chapter to wrap everything and then a mid-credit scene that no one will want to miss.
Until then.
