Toshinori's Choice
Chapter twenty-one: The big three! On the scene!
With the chaos of the provisional licence exams taken care of, things resumed as normally as they could over at UA high School. In the homeroom of Class 1-A, all twenty of the students were in their seats as Aizawa who was followed by Hizashi came into the room. After taking his place at the front of the classroom, the underground hero began with a lecture that was more apology than anything else. "Due to how you guys were all sabotaged by Sekijiro's students, none of you have your provisional hero licences," Aizawa said, "As such, you all will have to go to and complete a remedial class being held to help those who didn't get their provisional licences catch up."
There was some bitterness among the Class 1-A students, as all of them knew full well WHY they had to go to a remedial class and play catch up. "I got it that we won't be allowed to do any work in the field until we do get provisional licences, right?" Shinso asked as he raised a hand.
Nodding once in the affirmative, Aizawa said, "Exactly. Due to recent events, there's more of a need than ever before for as many heroes to be in the field as possible, even if some of said heroes are just hero students that only have provisional licences."
Listing off of his fingers, Hizashi said, "The results of the Battle of Kamino Ward, which saw multiple pro heroes, many of which were top ranked, killed, and All Might having to retire from pro hero work. The HPSC having all, and I do mean ALL, of its wrongdoing aired out, which was followed by a government sanctioned purge which reduced the HPSC's overall manpower and resulted in it being absorbed by and becoming a lesser branch of the government. All of Endeavor's wrongdoing having been exposed and his subsequent turn to villainy after he was stripped of his hero authority."
Todoroki, where he sat in the classroom, sunk a little into his seat. "There's also the massive tragedy that was the attack launched on Takoba National Stadium by the villainous organization headed up by Dabi," Aizawa went on, "Which saw his subordinate Twice kill close to half of the hero academy students there. Said attack also saw Dabi's two elites, Usagi and Felgrand, rampage although it's been confirmed neither of them claimed any lives. But as per word from All Might due to his investigations, Usagi and Felgrand are bar none the most threatening members of Dabi's villainous brood."
"All Might claims from what he got that both on their own are capable of wiping out scores of heroes," Hizashi said, "So only the absolute best of the best should even be considered as part of whatever teams are thrown together to try and confront Usagi or Felgrand."
Holding up a hand, Yaoyorozu said, "Senseis, we've seen from how they reacted during the attack on the Provisional Licence Exams that Usagi and Felgrand, who we now know are Asui's little siblings, both care deeply for Asui. Wouldn't it be possible to have Asui try to reason with them?"
"That would require having Asui go out into the field," Aizawa pointed out, "Which we're barred from being able to due because Asui as well as the rest of you failed to get your provisional licences. As stupid as it is, we are legally required to wait to have Asui attempt to reason with Usagi and Felgrand until Asui gets her provisional licence." Tsuyu, for her part, looked upset that she is actually legally barred from being able to try to see her younger siblings.
Holding up his right index finger, Hizashi said, "However, we got some special guests who can help get you all prepped for your supplementary classes to get your provisional licences." Hizashi then walked over to the door leading into the Class 1-A homeroom and opened it, letting in a boy with pointed elf-like ears and hair styled and colored similar to that of Sasuke Uchiha, a girl with very long light bluish hair, and a buff blonde boy whose face resembled that of Tin-Tin's. The three students, all of them clearly upper classmen, walked up to stand where Aizawa and Hizashi stood.
"Kids, these three are UA third years in the hero course," Hizashi said, "Tamaki Amajiki, Nejire Hado, and Mirio Togata. They are the top three hero candidates among the hero course here at UA. These three ought to be a big help in getting you prepped for your supplementary lessons."
Giving Class 1-A a thumbs up, the blonde boy said, "Don't you worry, my junior students! We'll help you make up for how you all failed the provisional licence exams!"
Despite meaning well, the blonde boy actually got on the nerves of Class 1-A as a whole. "Umm, about that senpai," Tenya began, "We-"
Clapping his hands together, the blonde boy went on, "I have an idea! Why don't we head on down to one of the gyms, and have a match to see where all you guys need to improve?"
"A... match?" Izuku asked, looking curious.
Nodding once, the blonde boy went on, "Yeah huh! The twenty of you versus me!"
Jerking a thumb at the blonde boy, the Sasuke-looking boy said, "Yeah, Mirio here tends to have trouble holding back sometimes. Be warned."
"But the twenty of us versus him alone," Jiro said, "What, do we go one at a time or-"
"Nope!" the now identified Mirio said, "Me alone versus all twenty of you all at once!" Now the students of Class 1-A were surprised, wondering what it was that Mirio was up to. Still, they figured that the twenty of them all at once versus him alone would be an easy win for them. As such, when Aizawa and Hizashi both agreed, the class went on down to one of the gyms for a match with Mirio.
...
...That Mirio ended up totally winning, giving all of Class 1-A a hard beating. Mirio's quirk let him phase in and out of stuff, making himself invulnerable. He also refined it to the highest degree, allowing him to keep himself invulnerable while making himself solid just long enough to hit Class 1-A and knock them out. Granted, Class 1-A was able to get in a few hits when Shinso was able to stun Mirio with his brainwashing, and Kirishima and to a lesser extent Ochaco were able to tank punches to the stomach from the buff blonde boy who phased so much his own clothes fell off, leaving him to fight in the buff much to the embarrassment and discomfort of the girls.
But Mirio was perceptive. Once he got out of his brainwashing, he identified Shinso as a threat and knocked him out immediately, and for Kirishima and Ochaco he went with strikes upside the head rather than in the gut. After that, the students of Class 1-A began dropping like flies, although Izuku was able to last a bit because some of his new developments took Mirio by surprise. But in the end, the buff blonde boy fighting in the buff was able to knock Izuku out, resulting in the last of Class 1-A being defeated and the match ending as a win for Mirio. As all of Class 1-A laid on the ground in the gym in defeat, Mirio let out a tired breath as he put his clothes back on.
"Wow, you guys are full of surprises," Mirio remarked, "Makes me wonder why you all failed the provisional licence exams." After getting his pants on at least, Mirio went on with saying, "But don't worry. I will-"
"Leave us the hell alone and never see or speak to us again!" Jiro screamed at Mirio, cutting him off and drawing a surprised look out of Mirio, as well as Tamaki and Nejire.
Looking concerned, Mirio said, "Umm, sorry if you guys took losing to me a bit hard, but there's no need to be sore losers ab-"
*KABOOM*
"You're just as fucking bad as those petty fucking ass-fucks in Class 1-B!" Bakugo barked, his expression one of snarling rage as he cut Mirio off with an explosion.
After getting Bakugo to settle down, Yaoyorozu said, "As... much as Bakugo and to a lesser extent Jiro had reacted, you with all due respect did push the wrong buttons, Togata-senpai. First off, the only that reason my classmates and I had all failed the provisional licence exams is because our rival class, Class 1-B, took advantage of the villain attack to sabotage us to make us fail so they could pull ahead in the bitter rivalry between our respective classes. A rivalry that Class 1-B started, by the way."
"Then when we got the news that we all failed," Tenya went on, "Class 1-B who all passed and got their provisional licences proceeded to essentially rub it in our faces, with Monoma even calling us sore losers when we, understandably might I add, complained about how he and his classmates had sabotaged us. And during a real villain attack no less."
Looking surprised, Tamaki said, "Wait a minute, they prioritized trying to one-up you guys over working together to try and survive an attack that claimed the lives of over two-thousand hero academy students from the various hero academies all over Japan?"
Nodding in confirmation, Kaminari went on, "And then we're told how we have to go to supplementary lessons to get our provisional licences, and THEN we're beaten by a deranged senpai who strips naked before beating us, and THEN said senpai not only rubs it in our faces we failed, but then proceeds to call us sore losers!"
"Just... just go away, Togata-senpai," Mina said, "Just go away and leave us alone!"
Mirio, now that he knew the whole story, instantly looked upset and regretful. "I... I had no idea," remarked the remorseful looking Mirio, "I am so sor-"
"Go away," Ochaco interrupted, "It's bad enough we were made to fail and have to do extra lessons because of it. All you did was rub it in our faces and make us feel worse by beating us."
Mirio tried speaking up but was cut off by Nejire. "With all due respect Mirio, you did cross a few lines with them," Nejire said, "You ought to just leave them be for the time being." Turning to look at the Class 1-A students, Nejire said, "Would it be alright if Tamaki and I still worked with you guys?"
Gesturing to Nejire, Tsuyu said, "You're an intern employed by Ryukyu, right Nejire-senpai kero?"
A bit surprised by this turn of conversation, Nejire said, "...Yeah, I am employed as an intern by Ryukyu. Why do you-"
"Hado," Aizawa spoke up, getting Nejire's attention, "There's... something we need to talk about, including some info you ought to bring to Ryukyu's attention."
As Nejire nodded in understanding, Mirio said to Class 1-A, "Look, I'm really sorry about how we got off on the wrong fo-"
"Togata," Aizawa interrupted, sounding like he understood where Mirio was coming from, "It... it really would be for the best if you just stood down for the time being. My students aren't even going to be able to take part in hero work studies this time around because Sekijiro's students had sabotaged them." Looking defeated, Mirio had realized that he really needed to step down and back up here, so he bowed his head once in apology and kept to himself.
Class 1-A as a whole were already feeling ashamed of themselves because they had failed the provisional licence exams. Then felt worse and got angry because they had learned that said failure was due solely to Class 1-B sabotaging them, prioritizing trying to one-up them and pull ahead over trying to get through a REAL villain attack on the exams. Then Mirio unintentionally made things even worse by rubbing Class 1-A's collective failure in their faces by beating them in a match.
The students under Eraserhead had no idea how things could get even worse.
Meanwhile, a group of villains from the Shie Hassaikai's remains met with a group from Dabi's Crew, with said group consisting of Dabi himself plus Spinner, Toga, Rappa, Mr. Compress, Gentle, Nagant, and Magne. The villains opposing Dabi's side were led by two men who Rappa identified to Dabi as Mimic and Chronostasis, but they were backed by two Yakuza thugs and four former sidekick-level pro heroes who used to work for the now villainous Endeavor. The sidekicks, due to their history of working for Endeavor, not only failed to find work elsewhere but also faced heavy discrimination. As such, many had no choice but to follow Endeavor into villainy.
"Before you guys try to pull any funny business," Dabu began, "I had Twice make clones of us to come here and meet with you. He can use his quirk to makes clones of other people provided he gets their measurements. I figured that, until we can trust you guys more, we ought to take any and all possible precautions."
Chronostasis nodded in understanding. "A wise and cautious move. Our late boss Chisaki would approve."
"Like he also approved of horrifically mistreating small children," Rappa scowled bitterly, his strong arms folded over his well-toned chest.
Gesturing to Rappa, Chronostasis remarked, "You have no idea of the potential we have to rule Japan from the criminal underground by using that girl, Rappa. Potential that our new boss sees very well, potential that will allow us to reach the top, to be the best."
Dabi's eyes narrowed. "Ah yes, I did hear that Endeavor and his sidekicks who followed him into villainy were able to take the reigns on running the Shie Hassaikai." Gesturing to Chronostasis and Mimic, Dabi said, "You guys gotta understand that Endeavor wanting my group and yours to work together, by default, means that me and mine will have to play nice with Endeavor. I myself have some rather personal gripes with being all buddy-buddy with Endeavor, and both Usagi and Felgrand aren't happy with him either."
"But our two groups joining forces and working together will allow us to grab Japan by its coinpurse," Mimic said, "Grab and keep a firm hold on it as we squeeze until we make Japan bend knee and bow head to us."
"There's also how we ought to discuss the remainder of the Eight Bullets doing what Rappa did and leaving the Shie Hassaikai to join you guys," Chronostasis said, "Their purpose is to serve the leader of the Shie Hassaikai. It was Chisaki in the past, and now they owe that debt to Endeavor."
"They left because none of them were happy with what all Endeavor is getting up to now that he heads up you guys," Rappa said, "They're much more in tune with what Dabi's planning."
"It also helps us that Rappa's former crew brought with them two girls with pretty useful healing quirks," Spinner added, "We've been needing a medic team."
Chronostasis growled in bitter annoyance. "Do you not want to rule Japan? To call the shots from the top at Endeavor's side?"
Dabi's eyes narrowed suspiciously. "...But the flaming man himself will still make and keep himself as the top dog, he'll still see everyone else, myself included, as subordinate to him."
"As the one man who came closer than anyone else to ever rivaling All Might," one of Endeavor's sidekicks said, "He's bar none the strongest that Japan has left. So why shouldn't the strongest sit at the absolute top?"
Dabi closed his eyes and gave it some thought. By Dabi's estimation, Endeavor ain't the single strongest person in Japan. Dabi wouldn't even give that title to himself. To be honest, Dabi was figuring that, if ruling Japan was something only the strongest person in the nation can do, then Japan's ruler would be Felgrand, one of Dabi's two elite bodyguards. Felgrand, otherwise known as the Dragon of Destruction, is in reality a ten-year-old boy with Asperger's Syndrome. So, if they were to be going by the logic of the sidekick of Endeavor's that's here, then Japan ought to be ruled by a young aspy boy.
Opening his eyes, Dabi said, "You guys and your new boss... in reality, you all just want me and mine to work for and under Endeavor."
Folding his arms over his chest, Mimic said, "And we ain't asking nicely. It will be happening, whether you like it or not."
Nagant's eyes narrowed dangerously as she regarded the enemy team of villains before her, Dabi, and the others. "...And what makes you think we'll agree? What can you do to force us?"
Mimic pulled out a revolver gun and opened the barrel, took out three bullets and showed them. Rappa perked up a bit. "...Those are quirk destroying bullets," Rappa said.
"A bit of insurance in case Chisaki ever went off the rails," Mimic boasted, "And there's plenty more where that came from!"
Rappa relaxed a bit, gave Mimic a considering look. "...Considering how tight of a miserly grip Chisaki kept on his dark treasure he was making, I'm surprised you were able to squirrel away even one bullet. There's no way you have more than those three, I was only able to get away with everything and the girl because Chisaki was distracted for long enough."
Dabi nodded in agreement, a look of suspicion on his face. "There's no way you have more than those three."
Mimic was about to speak up, but the same Endeavor's sidekick spoke up, "Ah, you got us. Yeah, it's true we only have those three quirk destroying bullets. Part of the partnership that Endeavor wants to force you guys to accept with him involves getting back the girl that was used to make the goods."
"We're also going to have you give back what all goods Rappa stole," Chronostasis said, "And we aren't asking politely, we're ordering you to return it."
"Problem with that," Rappa said, "I've already destroyed all doses of the quirk destroying drug, both complete and incomplete."
Smirking in amusement, Mimic said, "Then there's nothing to save you all from languishing in the despairing pits of being quirkless if you're shot with one of these bullets!"
"Guess again," Rappa corrected, "I still have all of the doses of the quirk restoring serum. You can expend all three of your bullets there and it wouldn't make a lick of difference. We have a few dozen doses of the serum, we're more than prepared."
Gesturing to Mimic, Spinner said, "And keep in mind that me, Dabi, and the rest of us who came here to meet you aren't the REAL us. We're clones of the real us made by Twice's quirk."
"We have until six tomorrow morning to report back to the real us," Toga said, "And tell them what all happened here. If we aren't back by then, or if one of us is busted, then the real us will assume that you guys are taking hostile actions against the real us, and they'll take actions as appropriate."
Smirking in amusement, Dabi said, "I bet that the real me will be surprised to learn it that you guys want him and his crew to all submit to and swear themselves to Endeavor's authority, and that you want them to help with making more quirk destroying bullets. No wonder the remainder of the elite squad Rappa was with, as well as our new medic staff, all left the Shie Hassaikai and joined the Crew led by the real me."
Gesturing forward, Chronostasis said, "It doesn't have to get messy. Our two groups can still become one, we can still rule the country from the shadows."
Gently shaking his head, Dabi said, "No, we won't be ruling anything. We'll just be licking the boots of the man who would be ruling everything." Dabi and the others, after they realized that Chronostasis and Mimic couldn't be bargained with, that their new boss couldn't be bargained with, decided to take off. As much as Chronostasis, Mimic, and the others wanted to stop Dabi and the others from leaving, they didn't exactly have much of a choice in the matter, lest they wanted to bring the wrath of Dabi's Crew down upon them.
Even the one thing they had that gave them bargaining power against Dabi's Crew, the gun with the three quirk destroying bullets, was useless as Rappa had the foresight to conserve the doses of quirk restoring serum. And the Shie Hassaikai under new management really did only have the three quirk destroying bullets; once they were used up, those under the villain Endeavor's rule would have no bargaining power period against Dabi's Crew. Their only hope to retake control and power was to get their hands on Eri, the girl whose blood was used to make Chisaki's dark creations.
But with Eri safe in hero custody, the odds of getting her back were virtually impossible.
The following day over at UA, Izuku had a private sit down with his step-dad Toshinori. "I'm going to be honest, my boy," Toshinori said, "I'm actually kind of glad you and your classmates can't take part in the work studies."
Izuku looked a bit surprised to hear that. "Is there a reason why, dad?"
"Please, don't take it personally," Toshinori began, "And I have every confidence that you'd do splendidly. It's just that I feel it's way too early for first years to be taking part in the work studies right now." There was also some further knowledge that Toshinori recalled from the alternate timeline, knowing that some messy business with a Yakuza offshot was about to kick off. Business that, if not handled properly, could spell doom for a good many people...
(FLASHBACK)
The previous day after classes at UA were done for the day, Toshinori and the rest of the main UA staff (i.e. those who know Toshinori has memories of an alternate timeline) had a meeting with Toshinori's former sidekick Sir Nighteye, who came in at Nezu's request. This was because Toshinori had said that he had memories from the alternate timeline that covered the events that were about to go down concerning the efforts Sir Nighteye led (in this current time line will be leading) against the Shie Hassaikai.
Sir Nighteye was also filled in on Toshinori having memories of the alternate timeline, given that he got insight from Nezu who also has memories of various alternate timelines. What all Toshinori told the UA staff was told to Sir Nighteye. "...The differences between your step-son in the alternate timeline and the timeline we are in right now just goes to prove that the nurture side of the nature versus nurture argument has more weight than the nature side," Sir Nighteye said to Toshinori, "Here he was nurtured right, and as such he's a hero-in-training we can trust."
Toshinori nodded once in understanding. "I know."
"So you have memories of the events that will be led against the Shie Hassaikai," Sir Nighteye began, "What are they?"
The former Symbol of Peace let out a troubled sigh. "Well first off, in the alternate timeline same as it was here, a member of the Eight Bullets stole away into the night with a girl named Eri, and what all was made from Eri's blood, before leaving Eri with the heroes. I never learned what became of what was made from Eri's blood, but Dabi's right-hand man Spinner had boasted in the alternate timeline that all of it was destroyed. Not too certain if the word of a villain can be trusted."
Nezu nodded in understanding. "Yes, it is rare indeed to see the word of a villain be trustworthy. Although I feel as if we can trust that the material made from Eri's blood was indeed destroyed."
"The real reason that the Shie Hassaikai was able to be a threat in the alternate timeline is because they were able to steal Eri back from the heroes," Toshinori went on, "They had ambushed Present Mic when he was out with Eri."
"So just keep Hizashi from working with Eri at all until things blow over," Aizawa said, "Although I say we keep Eri here on UA grounds. We already saw one fuck up occur because we assumed one element would be the same even if said element was under supervision." Toshinori knew what Aizawa was getting at; because Toshinori was figuring it'd be Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero going to rescue Yaoyorozu here because they tried rescuing Bakugo in the alternate timeline, those three boys were put under supervision so strict that it focused SOLELY on the boys, allowing the girls aside from Ochaco and Tsuyu to go out instead.
Even though it was on Hizashi's watch in the alternate timeline that Eri was taken back by the Shie Hassaikai doesn't mean that Eri will be safe with any other teacher off campus. Keeping Eri ON campus was the best way to ensure that the villains won't take her back. Looking to Toshinori, Sir Nighteye asked, "Is there anything else that you can tell us?"
Nodding once, Toshinori said, "Yes. The eventual raid on the Shie Hassakai stronghold will end up being a three way fight where the side of the heroes and police will be against the side of the Shie Hassaikai and the side of Dabi's Crew. Dabi's Crew aimed to recruit as many top people from the Shie Hassakai as possible, and in the alternate timeline where Eri was taken back, Dabi and his fellows actually helped the heroes and police take her back. By the time all was said and done, Dabi was able to recruit the remainder of the Eight Bullets he didn't have already, plus two yakuza-level thug girls who both have healing quirks, before he and his group all got away."
"What of the rest of the command structure?" Nezu asked.
"Two men named Chronostasis and Mimic were killed," Toshinori said, "And a man identified as the 'big boss' that even the late Kai Chisaki deferred to was found in a private room set up with medical supplies, like a private hospital room. He was moved to a proper hospital and put under supervision, but I didn't learn anything else about him."
Sir Nighteye gave Toshinori a serious look. "...How many on the side of the pro heroes and police were killed?"
"...Most of the pro heroes were slain in the efforts," Toshinori said, "In... including you, Nighteye." The salaryman looking hero didn't bat an eye at being told he was slain in the events of an alternate timeline. "Your intern Young Togata was also killed, as were his peers Young Amajiki and Young Hado. Your fellow Centipeder was also slain, and while Bubble Girl lived, she lost an eye. Fat Gum who took part was beaten bad but he survived and was able to make a recovery. Only Ryukyu had emerged relatively unharmed from the raid."
Letting out a troubled sigh, Sir Nighteye said, "...So only Bubble Girl, Fat Gum, and Ryukyu from the participating heroes lived." Looking to Toshinori, Sir Nighteye asked, "Mirio in the alternate timeline. Did... did he at least die a heroic death?"
"He died saving Eri from receiving a fatal blow," Toshinori said, "A lot more noble than how Young Amajiki and Young Hado were reportedly both cut down like dogs by Dabi's right hand man Spinner."
Sekijiro arched a wry eyebrow. "...From seeing Spinner, I never would peg him to be a major player. But from hearing what all he did in the alternate timeline, seeing what all he has done so far here, I think it's safe to say we by no means can afford to underestimate Spinner."
"It like Tensei Iida has always told me," Power loader said, "Never underestimate a villainous Argonian. It's part of why I'm working on making a Dwarven Centurion in real life, it'll be our answer to Dabi's right hand man."
Aizawa arched a wry eyebrow at Power Loader. "...So Iida's older brother isn't the only one who plays too much video games."
Nodding once in understanding, Sir Nighteye remarked, "Indeed." Turning to look at Toshinori, Sir Nighteye went on, "All Might. I need you you write out as many of the details that you can remember. They may be necessary to incorporate into my eventual plan on the eventual raid, if only to prevent as many deaths as possible." The former Symbol of Peace nodded in understanding but stopped short when Sir Nighteye said, "Oh, before I forget."
With all eyes on Sir Nighteye, the salaryman looking pro hero said, "I got all the details of what happened between Eraserhead's class and Vlad King's class during the provisional licence exams. To be honest, I'm actually rather disgusted with how Vlad King's students had prioritized forcefully continuing their rivalry against Eraserhead's students in a situation that was literally life or death, that Vlad King's students sabotaged Eraserhead's students to fail, that said sabotage worked and all of Vlad King's students passed and got their provisional licences while all of Eraserhead's students failed and have to go to supplementary lessons to try and get their licences."
Sekijiro scowled a bit in grim regret. "I know."
"What makes it especially bad is that it had reduced the possible overall amount of manpower the heroes would be able to field," Sir Nighteye said, "As per the word of the remains of the HPSC and the nation's government, we aren't allowed to send any hero student out into the field until they get at least their provisional licences. A total of twenty potential pairs of hands, all tied down solely due to the petty jealousy of your students, Vlad King. I also got how Mirio had, albeit unintentionally, tried to douse a fire with gasoline as it were. I've already taken measures to teach Mirio to keep in mind to always get ALL of the details, as well as teach him how to be better able to read the room."
"Yeah, Togata with all honesty did certain things, said certain things, at the wrong times," Aizawa remarked, "At least he came to regret it when he was made to realize that he had screwed up." The rest of the meeting was spent seeing Toshinori concentrate to remember as many details from the alternate timeline as he could about how the efforts against the Shie Hassaikai went. From those details, Sir Nighteye would come up with a plan to not only help defeat the yakuza offshot, but also minimize the deaths suffered by the heroes and police as much as possible.
(FLASHBACK OVER)
Toshinori, as he sat with his step-son Izuku, didn't say out loud why he felt it was way too early for first years to take art in the work studies. He was just glad that Izuku and his peers in Class 1-A were going to be safe from danger as they were in the safety of the supplementary provisional licence lessons. The former Symbol of Peace supposed that it was a silver lining to the foul result that Class 1-B had forced onto Class 1-A. Toshinori simply wished Izuku luck at his supplementary lessons before he sent him out of the room.
Alone now, Toshinori wondered about Class 1-B, who all would get to take part in the work studies. A part of Toshinori was unamused with Class 1-B essentially getting away with what they did. But another part of Toshinori worried for them. They are still first years, and as such would be heading into danger potentially. Danger that the former Symbol of Peace wasn't sure they were ready for.
END, CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE
Author's notes;
This chapter introduces the Big Three, and Mirio's relationship with Class 1-A gets off on the wrong foot due to a mix of him saying something wrong and Class 1-A as a whole taking things poorly. There's also a meeting between the Shie Hassaikai and Dabi's Crew, revealing that Endeavor and some of his sidekicks who followed him into villainy (due to lack of choice) took over the remains of the Shie Hassaikai, and the remainder of the Eight Bullets (plus to thug level girls with healing quirks) did what Rappa did and defected to Dabi's Crew, and now chaos between the two factions started up.
There's also how Sir Nighteye was brought in and filled in on Toshinori having memories of an alternate timeline. From what Toshinori remembered from the alternate timeline concerning the raid on the Shie Hassaikai, Sir Nighteye gathers details that will help with the eventual raid. But there are things that none of the heroes are even aware of, and those things could still see disaster befall the heroes. How things will turn out here is something that has yet to be seen.
