Hi everyone its definitely been a while since I last updated sorry about that, this chapter needed a good bit of reworking. I hope you enjoy it and thank you so much to everyone who commented !-Dayin

The moment Hermione had been fearing approached as she walked up to the muggle telephone booth quickly typing her dads number in. She knew that it was unlikely her Dad would be angry. Truthfully they would not even have noticed that she was gone thanks to the spell.

Still she was terrified to finally hear her family's voices again after so much had happened and her nerves had been manifesting in nasty ways all morning with a broken cup she had dropped and her snapping at poor Harry being the highlights of it. He at least understood her mood and when he heard she was going to be making the call he had promptly glamoured himself and headed down for a drink with Tom to give her some much needed privacy.

"Hello?" said a voice much younger than she had been expecting when she called her dad's phone.

"Jake oh my goodness hello" she said her surprise causing her to half sob out the words as her brain kicked back into gear "I have missed you so much" she added relief flooding her voice at finally hearing his voice once more.

"Mia?" His confused voice questioned though she could swear she was able to hear him start grinning through the phone "what's up short stack it feels like so long since you called" his voice sounding a bit dazed and confused. She imagined the spell must be preventing him from remembering just how long it really had been.

"I know Jake, it's just been very busy over here. I am sorry for not calling more." she said honesty ringing through her words.

"That's okay, but are you coming home soon?" he questioned "we miss you over here squirt"

She felt her heart break at the sadness in his voice as he said that. During her captivity it had been one of her worst fears that she would die and no one would contact her family to let them know, with the charms they would have never even noticed. They wouldn't have even known to hold a funeral.

It would have been her own fault too and she knew that, she hadn't exactly been forthcoming with details of her family or home life with anyone, years of ridicule for her muggle origins did have the benefit of keeping many people from bothering to find out where her family was or who they were which helped greatly at keeping the death eaters from looking for them. But still the cold realisation that she could have died miserable, tortured and forgotten by her family was a hard thought to bear.

"Mia?" He called dragging her out of her dreary thoughts of just how bad things truly could have been for her if she hadn't escaped.

"Yes, sorry I got distracted by something there" she explained quickly, doing her best to not let her voice betray the storm of emotions she was feeling.

"Its okay, but when will you be home?" he asked again "please don't tell me that you are planning to stay over the holidays again this year" He said, sounding annoyed at the idea.

Realisation dawned that must be what the spell had led them to believe in order to explain her prolonged absence from them she had wondered how exactly they would explain her disappearing.

"That's what I was actually calling Dad for Jake, I want to come home later this month but a friend of mine was hoping it would be alright for him to come too"

"That's brilliant!" his voice boomed so loud she could practically hear the house shaking.

"Jake? What's all that hollering about?" She heard her dad call from somewhere farther away.

"Mia's on the phone dad, she's coming home this month!" Jake informed him excitedly his voice drifting away from the phone as he turned to face their dad.

"What? Give me my phone here Jake" Her dad just about ordered followed by the sound of shuffling as the phone was quickly passed to her dad.

"Mia he had better have been telling the truth or my old heart won't be able to take it, are you actually coming home?" he questioned hopefully.

"Yes dad I am! I can't wait to see you, I have missed you so much" she said a sob breaking free as her resolve faltered at hearing her dads voice for the first time since their lives had turned to hell.

"Now now sweetheart, none of that sadness, this is great news! When will you be here with us?" he questioned gently.

"I just need to book my ticket and get a few things in order but I will be there before the end of the month if that's alright ?" She said hesitantly, suddenly feeling self conscious.

"That sounds perfect to be sweetie, I can't wait to see you, we will need to get you some new things for your room but it will be all ready for you" he assured eagerly.

"Um I do have one thing to ask dad, it is a big favour" she warned picking at her nails as she waited on his reply.

"And what would that be?" he questioned, sounding amused at the nerves filling her voice.

"My friend Harry wants to move to the USA and was hoping to come with me, would it be okay if he stayed with us for a little while until he is on his feet?" she asked, pulling at her curls as she waited for his answer.

"I don't see why not the girls aren't here, so their room is open for at least the next few months until they visit, any friend of yours is welcome honey" he assured with a small chuckle

"Thank you so much dad I will let him know, '' she said with a grin, feeling a small bit of disappointment knowing her sisters wouldn't be home to greet her as well and made a mental note to contact them as soon as possible to see how they were doing.

The last time she had seen them was for Rebecca's wedding before the newlywed couple had moved to Hawaii.

"Of course and keep me updated on when you need us to come and get you from the airport alright? I will let you get to your packing and all that so you can get here even quirkier" he said bidding her a quick farewell before hanging up the phone.

With that conversation over and her heart feeling a lot lighter knowing she would soon be seeing her family again she quickly walked back into the Leaky through the muggle entrance side and walked up to their room. Excited to relay what had been said on the phone to Harry.

He was standing at the table near the window writing down a letter with intense focus evident on his face. She waited for him to finish writing before grabbing his attention.

"Good news my dad said he didn't mind you staying with us!" she informed him with glee.

"That's great Mione thank you as long as it's not going to be an imposition?" he asked unsure.

"No it won't be at all as long as you find somewhere new to stay before my sisters come back to visit in a few months but I will give you a fair amount of warning first." She explained happily.

"Okay that's great, I sent off an owl to arrange our next Gringotts meeting so we can get everything in order for our move" he replied with an equal amount of glee in his voice. She imagined that it would be a major relief finally being able to get away from the fame and eyes that were constantly on him in the wizarding world. She had only experienced it briefly in Diagon Alley and already could barely handle the thought of going anywhere she would be recognised.

"Thank you Harry" she replied, grateful that writing to Gringotts wouldn't fall onto her shoulders.

"Of course Mione, now come over here and have a bite to eat. You need to take your nutrient potions from Madam Pomfrey." His words left little room for argument, not that she wanted to.

"Yes mum thank you" she still teased him while doing as he ordered.

The potions were going to be a key part of her recovery from the cruiciatous curse and starvation that she had been through.

"Don't sass me witch" he said with a laugh as he began to down his own plate of food.

The two of them sat in comfortable silence as they finished their meal followed by their necessary potions. Harry having considerably less to take then her.

Neither minded the silence as their months of camping together had made them appreciate the mere presence of another person while doing simple tasks.

Harry went over to the desk and began writing away on a piece of paper and Hermione sat and began reading a book that Tom had left in the room. It was a pretty general book really about different magical tourism places to visit around the world she assumed to cater to as wide an audience as possible considering how many different types of people stayed here

A loud tapping on their window caused her head to snap up only to be greeted by the large orange eyes of the spotted owl at the window.

The owl seemed to be an especially eager one, tapping away until she gently opened the window for it to hop inside where it took perch on the table they had been eating off of just moments before luckily just missing the paper Harry had been writing on.

The owl offered up its leg eagerly to her, a letter on full display, she instantly recognised the wax on the top as the seal the Weasleys tended to favour.

Dear Harry and Hermione

I am so glad you have agreed to join us if you want to Floo over around 5 tonight the password will be 'Honour'.

We are looking forward to seeing you both.

Sincerely

Bill

She handed the letter over for Harry to read through.

"Well that's great! We can just use Tom's floo downstairs'' he said once he was done, putting the letter down and giving the owl a bit of bacon left over from their breakfast.

"That's true, we still have a few hours left before we need to worry about heading over."

"You are right, is there anything you want to get done today before we go?"

"I am not very keen on going back into town but there are a few things, like some books and such that I would like to get before we make the move."

"We could always owl order some things now I am sure that Tom would not mind us using the owls here"

Hermione nodded her agreement as she stared at the Weasleys spotted owl contemplatively.

"You are right Harry, I think ordering some things to be delivered here would be a good Idea I will go down and see if Tom has any owl order forms and then we can make a list of what we need." she suggested.

"Great plan Mione thank you" he said nodding at her.

"Of course" She headed out of the room casting a glamour as she went and headed down to the Bar. Seeing Tom standing behind the bar table happily chatting away to some customers as he served their food and drinks.

"Good morning Tom, how are you?"

"I am great thank you Miss, a beautiful day all thanks to our saviours isn't it?" He said with a knowing wink and a twinkle in his eyes.

"It is a lovely day," she agreed ears turning red.

"What can I do for you this morning, I know your young man already brought up a spot of breakfast for you"

"Yes he did it was delicious thank you, I just wanted to see if you have any owl order forms and catalogues?"

"I am glad to hear it! And most certainly I do, if you order off my forms for most places you can get 5% or more discount as well. Just be sure you use your full name otherwise the forms have a way of not being delivered" He said emphasising the fact she would need to use her real name on the forms. She had heard as much about owl orders, they used similar magic to to s check in book to ensure that shopkeepers weren't being scammed or pranked when fulfilling orders

"Of course thank you very much" she said taking the forms he offered, as soon as she saw them she knew her ordering would take a while as there seemed to be a list for most stores in Diagon alley.

She headed back upstairs to Harry whose eyes widened at the large stack of books in her hands.

"Ah I see you have a bit of light reading there Mione" he joked taking some from her and helping her set them out on their small work table. The food plates seemed to have been cleared away while she was out.

"Yes definitely," she replied with a laugh "can you just browse through and make a list of what you want?" She asked as she lifted the catalogue for Flourish and Blots first knowing it was likely to be one of her larger orders.

"Yeah sure" he said as he predictably made a beeline for the quidditch shop catalogue.

They spent the next few hours pouring over the catalogues writing down things they would need for their move. Camping with very limited resources had brought them to appreciate having material comforts in their lives and they were eager to ensure they had all they needed in America.

As the time to head over to the Weasleys drew near they quickly got changed and freshened up before casting some glamour's and heading down to use Tom's floo.

The floo fireplace stood proudly in front of them and luckily the tables surrounding it seemed to be fairly empty.

Harry approached it first, stepping in and quickly calling out the name of the Burrow and its Password before stepping through.

Hermione was next up repeating his actions and feeling the familiar whoosh as the floo carried her away.

Well there we are, next chapter will include the Weasleys and we should hopefully see how much the blood quill has truly been affecting some of them!
