Chapter 21

Later that night…

Yua paused oddly. Satoru was sitting alone at the kitchen table, there was a fine looking meal before them and yet… why was there this fantastic looking spread? "Okay, what did you mess up on?" she demanded of him with her hands on her hips. Normally a good looking meal like this comes at a cost. Usually it depends on what Satoru has done or planning on doing.

"Actually, I didn't make this. Sukuna did. Saying we needed some… alone time. He took the kids for the time being, so we could have a nice dinner to ourselves…"

"Anytime he takes the kids I worry…" she muttered.

"Chusi came with him to pick them up." he insisted. "So, we can trust her with them, right?"

She nodded, but, what was the reasoning for all of this? She didn't know or really care at this point. Yua took her seat and helped herself to the small spread made.

Everything looked delicious, braised ribs, udon noodles, various rice and stir fries, it was all tantalizing.

Gojo already helped himself and then, poured himself some tea. He poured one for Yua as well. "To a couples night?" he asked offhandedly.

She smirked and toasted her drink with him.

One sip of the tea and she suddenly appeared to remember something. "He always serves this tea when he makes us a meal. I wonder why that is?"

"Pallet cleanser." Gojo stated. "I take a sip before I eat anything else, it cleans the pallet and makes it everything even more delicious. I knew he was a foodie but who knew he was THIS much of a foodie!"

As the night and the meal wore on. Yua couldn't help but feel… relaxed. Well, it was more than just relaxed, the more she looked to Satoru, the more she began to think of what to do with him after the meal.

Oddly enough, he had the same look on his face. His blindfold was already off as he stared at Yua rather seductively. "I don't know about you, but I think I want to skip dessert…" he said offhandedly.

"Ooo Satoru… that's not like you… not like you at all…" Yua cooed back.

The meal was done, but neither one bothered to do the dishes. Instead. Satoru rushed to her side, he began to kiss her passionately. She didn't resist him, in fact, she was already reaching for his shirt to take off!

"Why do we have to stay here over night?" Rook asked. "Mom and dad are just having dinner…" he suddenly paused oddly.

"You okay Rook?" Shin asked.

"On second thought, I'll take a bedroom farthest from our house."

Sukuna smirked. "I got the two of you in the room at the far end. We don't have a lot of space. Mochi will share a bed with Chusi. I'll sleep on the floor in the living room."

"Wait, why Ryomen!?"

"I am not going to traumatize these children any farther… especially that one." he said pointing to Rook. "Besides, it's one night, nothing serious."

"Say, children, would you mind giving me a moment with Ryomen here?" she asked.

They nodded. Rook went one farther and insisted they go visit uncle Yuuji. When the three left, Chusi glared at him. "Why are you helping them have a family and not us!?" she demanded of him.

"That obvious? Mainly I was doing it to get back at Gojo for his constant teasing of me. Him taking care of Yua was the best I could think of…"

"Enough of this, Ryomen… why haven't you tried the tea with me? I know it's an aphrodisiac!" she protested.

"Really? You knew?"

"My uncle taught you everything he knew didn't he? He made that for the family when those who had trouble conceiving would have a better opportunity!" she suddenly looked hurt. "You… don't want me to have your child do you?"

Looking about, he felt safe to finally speak his mind. "I want a family… I want one as much as you do, but look at me!" he protested to her. "Do you want these features passed down to our children? In the golden era, I wouldn't have given a shit about it. In modern times, it's difficult for one to fit in without being constantly mocked or scorned for their appearance. How do we protect our child from that? How can we?" he asked of her. "Not to mention… have you really forgotten let alone forgiven me for the LAST time we were to have a child… That child didn't deserve that… YOU didn't deserve that," he protested.

"Chusi, this is why I asked if you were certain you wanted to be with me. Our children will never be normal. Nor matter how much I think of it. Despite being rendered human, this IS my natural form. I can't change it, As much as I would want to. Can you look me in the eye and say you would love a child with my features? What if they want a family? Will the find someone who would have lucked out as I did?"

She paused. "That's what worries you?" she whispered. "You want… you want your child to have a normal life, and be a normal person?"

"They will be a sorcerer," he muttered. "Even though I have no power, I know your family's influence will make certain they become a powerful being. I worry, what if what happened to me… happens to them?"

He has thought it over, as much as he would love to have an heir, there are too many factors to consider, as well, he knows that the cult that is trying to revive his 'cursed side' is still out there plotting. They dared to kidnap the brat's child to give him a new vessel, there isn't anything he would put pass them at this point.

What if they come after any child he has with Chusi?

He would never forgive himself, she would never forgive him either…

"Ryomen…"

He snapped out of his train of thought, she gently took hold of his lower right hand and held it tightly. "I… I worry for the same thing, not for the appearance of our child, but for those who would try and turn them into something they are not." She said gently. "I would have no intention of keeping them cooped up here, at the same time, I fear what would happen if those in the world knew who they were. I fear for them, but…" she held back her tears. "I still hurt after what happened… after I was killed… what they made you do to our child and I… but… that wasn't you. The Ryomen I know would NEVER have done that. Even now, your main concern is that you are worried it will happen again… which means, you wouldn't have done so in the first place if you hadn't fallen into madness! Ryomen… I want a family!"

He couldn't resist her plea.

"When things settle down, let's try." He said gently to her.

Instantly, her eyes lit up. "Really!?"

He nodded to her. "I promise, and I will brew the tea,"

She wrapped her arms around him as best she could. Chusi wept tears of joy.

But, is this really the right thing to do?
