Edwin woke up to anniversary pancakes. Edwin just looks away.

"What's wrong?" Cuphead asked as Lucy wasn't home.

"Did you ask me if this is what I wanted to do?" Edwin asked as he ate the pancakes.

"Edwin, look, your mom said she wished you didn't have a life like hers. She wished you weren't a goth, for a handful of complicated reasons." Cuphead says.

"Well, surprise, I am a goth." Edwin says. "Get used to it."

"Cheer up, it's your day." Cuphead says.

"Sigh." Edwin says, walking off.

Aria woke up as Chalice entered the room.

"Happy anniversary, sweetie!" Chalice says.

"Thank you, Mom!" Aria says. She sees the French toast Chalice made and starts to eat it.

Lucy sees Edwin sitting at the local cafe, writing his poems.

"Edwin?" Lucy asked.

"Why can't father see that I want to forget that pageant?" Edwin says. "He's forcing me to celebrate."

Lucy sighed. "Edwin, you don't have to celebrate the pageant anniversary. You have to at least celebrate your birthday in December." Lucy says.

"Okay. I can do that." Edwin says. Lucy hugged him.

With Cuphead, Mugman and Chalice had come to see him.

"Hey." Cuphead says.

"Why are you decorating?" Mugman asked. Cuphead explained that he was trying to celebrate Edwin.

Chalice feels bad.

"After he said he wasn't interested…" Mugman says.

"He's like me, a showoff." Cuphead says.

"But have you ever listened to him when he talked to you?" Mugman asked.

"No." Cuphead says.

"Look, Cuphead, I listened to Edwin trying to tell you that he wanted to forget about that pageant. Aria may enjoy celebrating this, but Edwin doesn't. He only agreed that he would celebrate his birthday once a year, but that was it." Mugman says.

With Aria, she was practicing for the Little Miss Texas pageant as Tori watched her.

The Cosmic buddies were thinking. "A brand new villain?" Bill asked

"I thought most villains would have given up…" Alex says.

"And he's planning on taking over the world." Angry Luigi says

"It's easy. All we gotta do is find the base and kick his butt." Alem tuber says.

"It's not going to be easy." Drell says.

"Okay, Drell, where are they?" Sabrina asked.

"Insanity's home world." Drell says as the Cosmic buddies look at Angry Luigi, who fainted.

"Insanity?!" Savannah asked.

"I guess we gotta go." Alem tuber says.

Meanwhile, Abigail was training as Lola watched.

"Okay, let me show you my collection of trophies." Lola tells her daughter.

There were a lot of trophies. Abigail was stunned.

"I know." Lola says. "The pageant is tonight. At the San Antonio Riverwalk."

"Do you think I can win, Mom?" Abigail asked.

"Of course." Lola says. "You'll do great!"

Soon, the pageant was 10 minutes away from beginning.

"Aria, sweetie? Are you ready for this?" Luke asked.

"Yeah!" Aria says.

The host, Rhett Solomon, came out.

"Welcome to the Little Miss Texas pageant, located here in beautiful San Antonio!" Rhett says. "We have little girls from all over Texas, here to compete for the coveted title of Little Miss Texas!"

Abigail was beyond ready. Aria fidgets with her San Antonio sash.

"To show you all our beautiful girls…we're opening this show with a dance number these young ladies have been practicing!" Rhett says as the curtains open. The contestants are on a Texas-themed stage as they do a dance to "God Blessed Texas" by Little Texas.

Fans cheered for the girls that were on stage.

"Nice job!" Luke says to Aria once she came backstage.

Soon it was round 1, which was the fashion round. Several girls went up, and soon, it was Aria's turn.

Aria modeled her Texas flag-inspired dress and flashed a charming smile.

The judges smiled back as Aria blew kisses before heading backstage.

Abigail came out next, dressed in a silver evening gown with matching gloves. The judges loved it.

Backstage, Aria began to feel nervous.

"It's okay, keep calm, Aria…" Chalice says.

"I'll lose, I just know it…" Aria sniffed.

"You won't." Luke says, hugging his daughter.

Aria sniffed as she changed for the talent round. Abigail also changes for the talent round.

"What's your talent?" Aria asked her.

Abigail smirks and goes on, walking with books on her head. She then tap danced. Aria was stunned. Abigail had taken her tap dancing talent.

"Way to go!" Lola says.

Aria took off her tap shoes, discouraged and sad.

Lola sees this. "Aria…" she says.

Aria starts to take off her tap dancing outfit.

"You can't quit." Lola says to her.

"Well, I just did." Aria says, walking off. Luke was stunned. He went after his daughter.

"Aria!" Chalice says. "Wait!"

"She stole my talent!" Aria cried.

"So? It's not like she did it better. Multiple people can tap dance, but you're still better." Chalice says to Aria. "Besides, you have something Abigail doesn't."

"What's that?" Aria asked.

"Charm. Abigail has her strengths and weaknesses, but you're better than anyone." Chalice says.

"But I don't want to feel superior like Dad. I don't want people thinking they have no chance." Aria says.

"You have charm, sweetie. You know that you just have to do your best." Chalice says.

Aria smiles and goes on. She does her "Jailbreak" tap dance routine, which uses the songs "Jailhouse Rock" and "Turnin' Up The Charm".

Fans cheered for Aria as she danced. She even turned up the charm just like her mom.

The fans went wild for Aria.

Aria bows before going offstage. Luke and Chalice smile at her.

Edwin sighs.

"What is it?" Lucy asked. "You can tell me."

He pointed at the decorations Cuphead put up.

"Sigh." Edwin says.

Soon, it was the next round, which was the "outfit of choice" round. Aria was getting ready while the other contestants did their thing.

Luke was proud of his daughter as he watched Chalice help Aria with her "Sharpay Evans Summer" outfit Leni helped design for her. Aria smiled at her reflection as she felt ready.

Abigail goes on as Aria watches nervously. Abigail was dressed like a cowgirl as she pulled off some nice moves. Aria just looked away.

"Aria, just do your best, okay?" Luke says. But Aria's tears overtook her eyes as she just looked down. She all of a sudden didn't feel ready.

She ran away in tears as Chalice ran after her. Chalice found her sitting outside the pageant venue.

"Don't worry. I saw the scores. I know she's better." Aria says.

"She's not." Chalice says.

"How do you know that?" Aria says.

"When you go out, the crowd will love you." Chalice says.

Edwin was seen looking at young poets and frowned, heading to the "party" that his dad set up. But Mugman was in there, giving Cuphead a piece of his mind.

"If you lose, it doesn't matter. What matters is that you're doing your best." Chalice says to Aria.

Aria storms back inside. She didn't have any confidence left after hearing that Abigail was sure to win.

Aria forced herself on stage as the judges loved her and her outfit and the song she picked to go with it, which was "Fabulous" from High School Musical 2.

They gave her 10's across the board. Aria then walked offstage.

As preparations for the interview round began, Abigail was smiling smugly. Aria looked away from her.

"You know you have to read right?" The girl from Austin says as Abigail froze.

"YOU KNOW WHAT?!" Aria snapped. "YOU WIN! YOU ALL WIN!" She then stormed off.

"Aria, sweetheart!" Luke says.

"You can't just quit when things aren't in your favor. Besides, you're in first place. You won't be a star if you just quit every chance you get." Chalice says.

"Abigail doesn't have to be smug." Aria says.

"Did you talk to her about it?" Chalice asked

"No, but it's annoying." Aria says. "That's why I'm so angry! She brags how she'll win and she'll beat me at my own game. She shows off so much! She proved that in the talent round and didn't bat an eye!"

"She can't read, so why don't you show that off and give her a dose of karma?" Edwin says, angrily writing a poem.

"Parents not approving of your dreams and putting you down? Where have I heard that?" Aria says, glaring at Chalice, who looks down.

At the "party", Mugman was giving Cuphead a piece of his mind. Mugman found out that the party was happening because Cuphead wanted to celebrate his son, despite Edwin saying he wanted nothing to do with that pageant and didn't want anything to do with celebrating it. And because Cuphead just wanted to keep his reputation up. Now it all made sense.

"This party is for you." Mugman says.

"No, it isn't." Cuphead says as there was a mountain of gifts for Aria and decorations for Aria and Edwin.

"You gave Aria 80% of the party." Mugman says. "Your family has issues!"

Aria catches word and feels guilty, learning Cuphead loved her more than Edwin. She all of a sudden didn't want her anniversary anymore.

Luke was stunned. He would never be disinterested in a party about him. But he saw Aria begin to cry.

Abigail came to her. "Sorry about the smug talk." she says. She saw that Aria was sobbing.

Abigail gave Aria white chocolate and walked off. Aria looked at it and ate a little bit of it. She soon wiped her tears, getting ready for the interview round. But she was still mad at her entire family. And with that, she marches on stage.

"Hi, Aria. I'm going to be asking you some questions." The interviewer says. Aria nodded.

"Ready when you are." Aria says.

"What made you interested in pageants?" He asked.

"My dad competed in lots of them over the years. After seeing his many performances on stage and screen, I felt inspired to compete in pageants and follow in his footsteps." Aria says.

"That's nice." he says. "Do you think you'll win ANH?"

"I hope I do win." Aria says.

"What will you do if we crown you Little Miss Texas?" He asked.

"I want a party. And I want my family to just stop all this behavior! I just want them all to stop!" Aria says before she ran offstage after the interview, crying her eyes out.

The crowd then sees what she's talking about as Luke and Chalice's behavior toward Aria was displayed for all to see.

Everyone looks at Luke and Chalice. The couple then looked ashamed of themselves.

Lucy finds Aria.

"Have you seen Ed-what happened?" Lucy asked curiously as she held her niece.

Aria tearfully explains everything.

"Is this because Cuphead wanted Edwin to celebrate?" Lucy asked.

"Part of it." Aria sniffed.

Soon, the points were tallied as Aria was the winner, and she was crowned Little Miss Texas.

"Nice job!" Jackson says. He sees Aria is forcing a smile, and he sees that she was done with this right now.

Margo was giving Luke and Chalice a piece of her mind while Jackson took Aria outside for some air. Aria sobbed and sobbed against Jackson as he held her and pitied her.

Everyone pitied Aria. They looked at her parents, who were very ashamed of how they've been acting toward her.

"Luke, we can't have you and your wife on the show for a while. Until you two take some parenting classes or prove that you can be better parents to Aria, you can't compete." April says.

Luke and Chalice nod shamefully.

Meanwhile, Leni was decorating when she got the news about Luke and Chalice.

She felt bad and kept decorating.

Edwin sees Leni. "Aunt Leni? Can I…um…talk to you for a minute?" He asked.

"Sure." Leni says.

"Does my dad love me or Aria?" he asked.

"You, of course. Why would you think that?" Leni says.

"Dad wants me to be like Aria. He doesn't understand that I just want to be a poet and a writer. Pageants just don't interest me. But he doesn't want to accept that." Edwin says and heads off.

With Aria, she was at Jackson's house while Margo was "coaching" her parents.

She then gets a text from Tori. She sighs and reads it.

It told her to go to Chuck E. Cheese's. Aria just looked at the text for a few minutes as she was trying to figure out what she should do.

She heads in as confetti falls on her. She looked around, wondering what was happening.

"Congratulations, Aria!" Everyone says as there were decorations and gifts. Aria was surprised by all this. And among the guests were her guilty parents.

"So, are you here to apologize?" Aria asked her parents.

"We're sorry, honey. We really overstepped our boundaries." Chalice says.

"We know our limits now and promise to help you when it's necessary to and not interfere as much. Rest assured, we will be better parents to you and Desmond." Luke says. "We promise. We'll be gentle."

"And as for you…" Mugman says to Cuphead. "You will stop forcing Edwin to celebrate this anniversary. He said he wanted to forget it. The most he will do is celebrate his birthday every year. Nothing more. And Edwin wants to write and be a poet or a writer. He doesn't like performing the way you and I do. He chose what he likes to do. You can't force him to be a performer like you. He wants what he wants. You also can't force him to celebrate small victories."

Cuphead nods. He then apologized to Edwin, who forgave him.

The party began. Aria opened a few gifts, but didn't want to spend the whole party just doing that. She soon went off to play some arcade games.

Tori joined her as she smiled.

"Nice party." Tori says.

"Thanks." Aria says.

After a while, Aria sat down to eat pizza and watch the animatronics perform. They perform her favorite songs, which makes her smile. She then dances for a bit. She then sees a piñata and smiles at it.

Luke got her a new nine-iron. Aria beats the piñata until candy pours from it and she gets her share.

Aria sat down for a bit. This party was getting too overwhelming for her.

Aria soon goes to be alone. She looked tired, but she knew she still had to have cake. She also thought of telling her parents how she wanted her birthday to be celebrated.

But she knew Luke would freak out. But her suggestion wouldn't affect Luke's week at all. She goes to ask them.

"What is it, sweetie?" Chalice asked.

Aria explains what she wants. She wants a party, but not a grand one as they overwhelm her easily and she is still a child. She also wants to have it on the weekend prior to her birthday. Chalice and Luke agree with that request and decide to honor it.

Soon, Luan brings out the cake. Aria was still nowhere to be seen. Lucy turned off the lights. Aria came into the party room as the lights came on. Aria gasped, looking at her cake, which was shaped like the state of Texas and it said "Congratulations, Aria! Our New Little Miss Texas!" and it had six yellow candles on it.

She smiled as everyone sang a congratulatory song to her.

Aria wished for a good birthday and blew out the candles as everyone cheered for her. She then gets some cake.

"I can't wait for my birthday…" she says.

At home, after the party, Luke and Chalice were tucking her into bed.

Aria yawned. Luke smiled at his daughter.

"Sweet dreams, Aria." Luke says before leaving the room. Aria smiled as she fell asleep.
