Everyone followed Draco's actions, with less tantrum. Sleep was hard to achieve for Harry and Hermione, remembering their time while on the run.
Giving up on sleep, Hermione noticed that it was morning. Peering to see that Harry was finally sleeping, she quietly moved around the trees to be able to watch the sunrise. Enjoying the serenity the morning brought. Before long, she was joined by Draco plopping next to her.
"Good morning Malfoy," Hermione spoke with more cheer than normal
"What's so great about it? We're still here."
Smiling, looking back to the rising sun. "Someone isn't a morning person."
"Do you have coffee? I'll become one after that."
Not able to hold in the laughter, "You sound like Harry."
Peering at him, he was smirking. Surprised at the fact that they could sit in a comfortable silence, not that either had ever tried to do that before with one another. Finally, with the sun on full display on the horizon, Hermione decided it was probably time to get the others up if they weren't already.
"We should probably get everyone up and going," Hermione spoke up
"Fine, ruin the quiet so early in the morning."
Laughing at the man beside her, Hermione stood returning to the group. Finding Ginny already awake, they said their good mornings. Harry was still passed out. Hermione sighed, understanding that he was probably up most of the night. Moving over to him, squatting down gently shook him. Ready for the actions that would follow. Once he had calmed down, he got up. Moving away from the group in the direction they were to take.
Draco walked over to her, waiting for her to stand up.
"What was up with that?"
"It's nothing, we should follow him," Hermione spoke, not wanting to reveal Harry's demons. The ones that it seemed that their trio had picked up during the war and some that came after.
Trailing their friend, understanding the space he needed. Draco caught up with her, walking beside her sparking up a conversation with Blaise. Soon enough Harry fell back, joining their conversation. The topics had remained present; however, transitioned into old times before the war. Reminiscing about teachers, classes, and any mischievous activities they did in school.
Hearing some of the stories that Draco told, "How did you survive school?" Hermione asked
"My charming personality," Draco smirked
Rolling her eyes, "The sad part, you're probably right."
"While we're on the subject of school, what happened to you and the weaselbee? You were the it couple at the end of the war. Everyone thought that they would be married off, having little weasels of your own."
"Things change." Hermione replied sharply
Holding his hands up "No need to get snippy, it was just a question! Sounds like there is a story behind it."
Hermione stopped quickly, startling Draco. "Can you just drop it? Please Malfoy?" Hermione pleaded with him, not wanting to go into the said story
"Okay." Agreeing, watching her hurry to catch back up with the group
Her actions made him all the more curious. He wanted to know more, yet for some reason, he didn't push the boundaries. For Hermione, she remained quiet offering the excuse of thinking of spells. The only people who would know the whole story were Harry, Ginny, and George. Mrs. Weasley only knew that they had a large fight and could not stand to be in the same room. It had upset her at first, not being able to have the whole family under one roof. With time, she masked the sadness. In her opinion, those three would be the only ones outside of her and Ron.
Arriving to the outskirts of the village, the sun was already high in the sky. It had taken more time than expected to reach the town, which may have been from a few misguided zigzags.
"We should stick together and avoid people as much as we can," Harry announced
Earning an agreeance, they headed in. Moving in a way to avoid any stares or to draw any attention to their group. Working quickly to grab some food, before moving on to the next goals. For now, they grabbed food and headed back out of the village. On their way out, a man ran into Hermione almost knocking her over. Thanks to Draco who helped to keep her standing.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Please excuse me." Hermione turned to the man bowing to her
"It's okay, I wasn't paying attention either."
Watching him stand erect, she had to do a double take. Surprised at who he looked like, she felt a pull on her sweater. "'Moine, we should go."
Nodding she turned ready to leave with her group. "Wait, Milady!" the man caught up with them
"What is your name?"
Looking at her group, Harry shrugged his shoulders. Offering no assistance, going with her gut which was saying it was okay. "It's Hermione."
"Lady Hermione?"
Shaking her head, "No, it's just Hermione."
"You look just like our Lady Hermione, are you sure you are not her?"
"Yeah, I'm just Hermione Granger."
Bowing to her, "I'm sorry to have bothered you milady. Have a good day."
Hermione looked to Harry, who sighed. This wasn't what he wanted to get into while in town. "Wait!" Moving to catch back up with the man. "Who is this Hermione that you speak of?"
"As of right now, she is the Queen."
Looking at each other confused, "Queen? I don't recall a Queen, Hermione."
Watching him become bashful, not in physical motion. His eyes portrayed all his thoughts. "You don't seem to be people that would understand."
Hermione watched him, moving slightly closer. "If you can't tell, we're not from around her."
"She is one the most powerful around here."
"Are you talking about a witch?" Asked quietly hoping that she wasn't wrong
Watching him looking around, ensuring that no one else had heard her statement. "Shh! Yes, that is what she is. She is currently trying to find those that will fight on the light side."
"Light side?"
"Yes, you must have been under a rock. We are currently at war; she is fighting for the light side."
"What is her last name?" Draco asked, his curiosity was piqued
"It is Cornealious."
Hermione looked to the blond who shrugged his shoulders. "What is this war about?"
"She believes that those that come from all ranges of backgrounds, including the ones that are not as pure as some, deserve equity."
"Fuck, we just dealt with this." Ginny muttered
"Ginny!" Harry and Hermione scolded
Looking up, seeing the array of faces. "I said that for everyone to hear, didn't I?" Ginny asked
"Yeah, yeah you did Gin."
"I am confused milady. You say you know nothing of this war, but you have dealt with this?"
Rubbing her face, Hermione was trying to figure out how to proceed. Gazing to her counterparts for any insight into the following steps. "We have not been able to explain everything to you. Is there somewhere that we can go that is private." Harry spoke up for their group. Seeing the man nod, curiosity was written on his face.
