Chapter 7: Call to Action.
Later that evening, Ash and Pikachu were sitting at the table, eating a microwave dinner, when Jim returned.
"Good evening, Jim." Ash greeted.
"Hello, Ash." Jim said as he put his coat on the hanger and sat down to watch TV.
"Long day at the police department?" Ash asked.
"Sure was. You wouldn't believe how many criminals can be brought in by Batman and the others." Jim said.
"You work with Batman?" Ash asked.
"Yeah, he handles the criminals that are too much for the police." Jim said before his phone rang. He answered and listened to the caller before he retrieved his coat.
"Is something wrong?" Ash asked.
"Apparently, WayneTech's being attacked by a balloon." Jim said.
Ash and Pikachu looked alarmed at that before they followed Gordon out the door and looked to see a balloon floating near the tall building. The balloon was shaped like a Meowth.
"I know that balloon!" Ash said before Pikachu hopped on his shoulder.
"Pi Pikachu!" Pikachu said, knowing as well.
"Jim, I'd like to go with you if that's okay." Ash said.
"But, Ash, what about your arm?" Jim asked.
"It's feeling better. I've dealt with these crooks before." Ash said.
Jim looked unsure before he said, "Okay. Follow me."
They then got into his police car and headed towards the scene.
