Chapter 8: Showdown at WayneTech.
Ash and Jim quickly made their way to the tech lab of WayneTech, where the crooks were sighted.
"GCPD! You're under arrest!" Gordon said as he entered.
One of the crooks turned to reveal themselves to be a girl with long red hair, "Prepare for trouble." she said.
"Make it double." said a boy with blue hair.
"To protect the world from devastation." the girl said.
"To unite all peoples within our nation." the boy said.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love." the girl said.
"To extend our reach to the stars above." the boy said.
"Jessie." the girl identified herself.
"James." the boy followed with.
"Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light!" Jessie said.
"Surrender now or prepare to fight, fight, fight!" James said before a cat-like creature with a coin between its ears hopped onto the basket of the Meowth balloon.
"Meowth! That's right!" it said.
Ash then rushed in, "Team Rocket!" he said.
The three crooks were shocked, "The twerp?!" they went.
"What do you three want this time?!" Ash asked.
"Well, that should be obvious. WayneTech's technology is some of the best in the world. If they can make what they do, imagine what we could build with it!" Jessie said.
"Not if we stop you first! Pikachu, go!" Ash said as Pikachu jumped off his shoulder.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Must we always do this? Go, Arbok." Jessie said.
"Go, Weezing." James said.
They both released Pokemon, one resembling a purple snake, the other being a purple two-headed creature that had one head smaller than the other one.
"Okay, two-on-two. I choose you, Primeape!" Ash said as he released a Pokemon resembling an angry ape.
"Arbok, Poison Sting!" Jessie ordered. Arbok shot white stingers out of its mouth.
"Primeape, jump then Mega Kick!" Ash said as Primeape jumped and avoided the needles before kicking Arbok in the face.
"Weezing, Sludge Attack!" James said. Weezing shot a blob of sludge out its mouth at Pikachu.
"Pikachu, Quick Attack!" Ash said. Pikachu rushed at high speed before tackling Weezing, sending it flying back.
"Arbok, Wrap Attack!" Jessie ordered. Arbok leapt at Pikachu, ready to wrap itself around it.
"Pikachu, Iron Tail!" Pikachu leapt up and its tail glowed white before it hit Arbok with it, sending it flying back into the wall and knocking it out.
"Weezing, Smokescreen!" James said. Weezing released a cloud of smoke from its mouth that started to cloud their vision.
"Primeape, aim carefully and use Mega Punch!" Ash said. Primeape looked carefully through the smoke and saw Weezing. It then used a powerful punch which sent Weezing into the wall and knocked it out.
"Give up, Team Rocket!" Ash said.
"Why would we do that?" Jessie asked.
"We still have the tech, now let's make our getaway!" James said as they climbed into the balloon where Meowth had the stolen tech in a net.
"Next time you see us, twerp, we'll have an unstoppable robot!" Meowth said before the balloon suddenly stopped.
"Why are we stopping?!" James asked, none of them noticing a cable attached to the bottom.
"Maybe the burner's busted." Jessie said as she turned to look at it, only to see Batman's face. She leapt back in fright.
"The Batman?!" Meowth asked.
"He does exist!" James said.
While they were busy backing away, they didn't notice Batgirl and Robin take the tech back.
"So, you three clowns are supposed to be high-end criminals?" Batgirl asked.
"They sure don't seem like it." Robin said.
James snuck around Batman and tried to attack him from behind, only for Batman to raise his fist and punch him out without even turning his head.
"Oh, boy." Meowth said.
"So what? Some looney dresses in a cape and you think that makes you all high and mighty?" Jessie asked.
"Well, I don't think the suit makes me high and mighty, but I know it makes me better than an old hag like you." Batgirl snarked.
Jessie growled before trying to punch Batgirl, only for Batgirl to use a Batrope to tie Jessie up.
"All right, Boy Wonder, let's see how you do against this!" Meowth said as he tried to use Fury Swipes on Robin, only for Robin to duck and cause Meowth to slice up the balloon, which sent it flying off as the heroes jumped out.
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" the three of them yelled as they flew off into the distance.
DING!
"Those guys never change." Ash said.
"Excellent work, Ash." Gordon said.
"Not bad." Batman said.
"It seems you've had quite the experience against those three, just like you said." Batgirl said.
"For a kid, you're not bad." Robin said.
"Hey, you're a kid, too." Ash said.
"Well, there was no arrest, but at least we got back the tech." Gordon said.
"Don't worry, Commissioner. I know those three well enough to know they'll be back before long." Ash said.
