Shortly after graduating Hogwarts, Harry Potter and Hermione Granger started dating. Harry used to be dating Ginny Weasley and Hermione used to be dating Ron Weasley. However, as time went on, it became clear that Harry and Hermione were more interested in each other. Ginny didn't mind and quickly moved on with her life, but the same could not be said for Ron. Ron had been tempted to yell at Harry and get in a fight with him for dating Hermione. However, Harry was Ron's best friend, so Ron tried to hide his anger. Harry and Ron continued being best friends. They even lived in a house together. However, that didn't mean that Ron wasn't secretly bitter towards Harry.
Harry and Hermione spent the next few years as a couple. They were happier than ever before, while Ron was filled with more jealously than ever before. Ron was tempted to try to get back together with Hermione. However, since Hermione seemed so happy with Harry, Ron tried to avoid interfering with her happiness. For a short period of time, Ron started dating Luna Lovegood, because he thought that might make Hermione jealous. However, Hermione had no problem with Ron dating Luna. In fact, both her and Harry supported Ron's new relationship. Since Ron's plan failed, he dumped Luna.
One afternoon, Harry and Hermione were walking to Harry and Ron's house, while holding hands. They had just finished having a lunch date. Harry was wearing a blue shirt and a pair of blue jeans, while Hermione wore a purple dress. Harry looked at Hermione, while saying, "I had a good time with you. Did you have a good time?"
Hermione smiled, while replying, "Whenever I'm with you, I have a good time."
Harry said, "It's too bad that things didn't work out between Ron and Luna."
Hermione replied, "Yeah, I thought those two had good chemistry."
Harry started looking concerned, while saying, "Hermione, do you think that there's a possibility that Ron still likes you?"
Hermione replied, "I suppose it's possible. He and I haven't dated in years, but we have remained good friends."
Harry said, "Hermione, I love being with you."
Hermione replied, "I feel the same way."
Harry said, "When you and I got together, you and Ron had already stopped dating. However, part of me felt bad about it. I felt like I was doing something wrong."
Hermione shook her head and replied, "You didn't do anything wrong. I love Ron, but you're the one that I want to be with."
Harry said, "I'm glad to hear that, but what about Ron? I don't want him to be upset."
Hermione replied, "We've been dating for years, Harry, and you and Ron have continued being roommates and the best of friends."
Harry put his hand on his chin, while saying, "That's true. However, I keep getting this weird feeling that Ron's mad at me. I don't know if I'm just being paranoid."
Hermione put her arm around Harry, while replying, "It's okay to be a little weird, but I think that everything's going to be okay. You, me and Ron have the best of friendships. I don't see how anything could ever ruin it."
Harry felt a little relieved, while saying, "I'm glad to hear that."
A few minutes later, Harry and Hermione finished walking to Harry's house. Harry smiled at Hermione, while saying, "Thank you for walking me home."
Hermione replied, "It was my pleasure."
Harry said, "I love you."
Hermione replied, "I love you, too." Hermione stepped closer to Harry and gave him a tender kiss on the lips.
Harry said, "I'll see you tomorrow."
Hermione replied, "I look forward to it."
Harry opened his front door and stepped into his house. He looked around and saw that Ron was in the living room. Ron was wearing a shirt that was covered in ketchup stains and a pair of pajama pants that were covered in butter. He was playing a videogame, while looking exhausted.
Harry waved to Ron and said, "Hi, Ron." Ron grunted. Harry wanted to talk to Ron, but Ron was busy playing his videogame. Harry waited for Ron to finish playing, but he eventually got bored and gave up.
A few hours later, Ron finished playing his videogame. He got up and knocked on Harry's bedroom door. After getting permission to go inside, Ron stepped into the room and asked, "How was your date?"
Harry said, "Hermione and I had a great time."
Ron sighed and said, "I'm happy to hear that."
Harry raised an eyebrow, while asking, "Are you okay?"
Ron said, "I'm fine."
Harry said, "I'm sorry that your relationship with Luna didn't work out. If you ever want to talk about it, I'd be happy to."
Ron grunted and replied, "I don't want to talk about it."
Harry asked, "Is there anything that you do want to talk about?"
Ron answered, "Nope."
Harry asked, "Are you sure that everything's okay?"
Ron answered, "Yeah."
That night, Ron got into his bed, which was filled with tons of stains and crumbs, and closed his eyes. Ron had been having some weird dreams, so he was hoping that he'd start having some nice dreams. However, he started having a very unusual dream.
In Ron's dream, Ron was standing on a sunny meadow. The weather was very pleasant, but the people around Ron were acting like they were in a hurry. He saw various people carrying lots of wrapped presents. Ron was hoping that the presents were for him, but they weren't.
Harry, who was wearing a fancy tuxedo, walked by Ron and said, "Hi, Ron."
Ron had a confused look on his face, while asking, "What's going on?"
Harry looked overjoyed, while saying, "Today's the big day."
Ron asked, "What are you talking about?"
Harry said, "I thought you already knew that today is my wedding day."
Ron raised his eyebrows, while asking, "Who are you getting married to?"
Harry answered, "Hermione."
Ron nervously said, "My best friend is going to get married to my crush? The thought of them dating was bad enough, but this is going too far. I have to stop them." Ron started running.
A few minutes later, Ron ran up to an altar that was outside of Hogwarts. Ron wanted to stop the wedding. However, he needed to catch his breath, so he sat down and looked around. To Ron's surprise, Voldemort was standing on the altar. Ron raised his hand, while looking at Harry and asking, "What's Voldemort doing there?"
Harry answered, "Voldemort's my best man."
Ron looked more confused than ever before, while asking, "How could Voldemort be your best man? He's supposed to be your greatest enemy."
Harry explained, "Hermione and I never realized how serious we were about one another, until we worked together to bring Voldemort down. Hermione and I owe Voldemort for bringing us closer together."
Ron asked, "Isn't Voldemort supposed to be dead?"
Voldemort grinned, while saying, "I always find a way to escape death."
Ron said, "Hey, how come I'm not Harry's best man?"
Harry replied, "I'm sorry, Ron, but frankly, Hermione and I weren't sure if you would even come to the wedding. You have been so upset about Hermione and I settling down that you've barely said a word to us in months."
Ron said, "So, I've become a worser friend than Voldemort?"
Voldemort replied, "That's correct."
A few minutes later, Hermione's bridesmaid, Bellatrix Lestrange, walked up to Harry and whispered to him, "I just finished brushing Hermione's hair. It took a long time to get her ready, but she's going to look absolutely beautiful."
Harry replied, "I look forward to seeing her."
Bellatrix smiled at Voldemort, while saying, "Harry's very lucky to have you for a best man."
Voldemort replied, "He sure is."
Harry looked at Voldemort and Bellatrix, while saying, "I can return the favor by being the best man at your wedding."
Voldemort laughed and said, "You have a wicked sense of humor, Mr. Potter."
Harry said, "Well, aren't you guys getting serious?"
Bellatrix said, "My dear Voldemort is never serious."
Voldemort replied, "Why be serious when you can be goofy?" Voldemort pranced around the altar, while Harry and Bellatrix arrived.
A few minutes later, Rufus Scrimgeour started walking Hermione down the aisle. Hermione's hair was quite messy, because Bellatrix thought that messy hair looked better than regular hair. Hermione was wearing a white dress that looked incredibly fancy and expensive. Hermione looked at Rufus, while saying, "Thank you for walking me down the aisle."
Rufus replied, "I've already walked vampires and pirates down the aisle, so this is one of the most normal weddings that I've participated in."
After Hermione got on the altar, Lucius Malfoy stepped in front of Harry and Hermione, while saying, "We are gathered here to celebrate the marriage of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. During their time at Hogwarts, Harry and Hermione failed to be as good of students as my son, Draco. However, they have grown up to be quite a lovely couple. I think that we are all incredibly happy for them. If anybody objects to this wedding -"
Suddenly, Ron stood up and said, "I object to the wedding!"
Hermione looked upset, while saying, "Ron, what are you doing?"
Ron replied, "I'm sorry, Hermione, but I can't let you marry Harry."
Lucius stared at Ron, while saying, "You are interrupting the wedding."
Ron replied, "Well, you asked if anybody objected to the wedding."
Lucius responded, "You weren't supposed to say anything. Frankly, you shouldn't even be here."
Ron started walking up to the altar, while saying, "Harry and Hermione shouldn't be on that altar. Hermione was my first crush. In fact, she and I used to date. Harry's my best friend, so he has no right to marry her."
Harry replied, "With all due respect, you dated Hermione for a few weeks. Hermione and I have been dating for years. We're a very happy couple, so shouldn't you be happy for us?"
Ron responded, "No."
Hermione gave Ron a disapproving look, while saying, "Rom, please go sit down. This is supposed to be one of the most important days of my life."
Ron replied, "Hermione, I love you."
Voldemort got out his wand and used it to blast Ron away from the altar. Voldemort walked up to Ron, while saying, "You should face the fact that Harry has replaced you as Hermione's one true love. As for me, I've replaced you as Harry's best friend."
Ron nervously replied, "That can't be true."
Voldemort had an evil smile on his face, while saying, "It is true." Ron yelled, while Voldemort laughed.
The next morning, Ron got up. He breathed a sigh of relief and said, "That wedding was just a dream. That means that Harry and Hermione aren't getting married." He paused and said, "However, Harry and Hermione have been in a relationship for a long time. Long relationships often lead to marriage. I can't let them get married."
Ron ran out of his room and ran to Harry's room. After getting inside of the room, he started shaking Harry, while saying, "Don't get married!"
Harry opened his eyes and said, "Ron, it's good to see you waking up early. In fact, you woke up before I did. I'm impressed."
Ron continued shaking Harry, while saying, "This isn't the time to talk about sleep! We need to talk about the fact that you can't marry Hermione."
Harry had a confused look on his face, while asking, "What are you talking about?"
Ron pointed at Harry, while saying, "I had a dream where you and Hermione got married."
Harry replied, "It was just a dream, so it's nothing to make a big deal about."
Ron said, "In the dream, Voldemort was your best man."
Harry looked amused, while saying, "Obviously, that would never happen, so I don't know why you're upset."
Ron said, "I'll admit that the Voldemort part didn't make sense. However, you and Hermione getting married isn't such a crazy thought. It's something that could happen."
Harry calmly replied, "Everything's going to be okay."
Ron said, "You better not get married."
Harry replied, "At this time, I have no marriage plans."
Ron started jumping around the room, while saying, "That's great to hear."
Harry replied, "However, in the future, my plans could change."
Ron responded, "I don't want your plans to change."
Harry said, "If I may ask, what do you want?"
Ron replied, "I want you to be single and alone, forever."
Harry sarcastically responded, "Thanks a lot."
An hour later, Harry and Hermione met up at a diner, so they could have breakfast together. Hermione looked very calm and happy, but Harry looked like he had a lot on his mind. After ordering breakfast, Harry put his hand over his face.
Hermione had a concerned look on her face, while asking, "What's wrong?"
Harry sighed and said, "Ron was upset about a dream I had."
Hermione asked, "What happened in the dream?"
Harry said, "You and I got married."
Hermione blushed and replied, "It sounds like Ron and I have been having similar dreams."
Harry said, "I'm sorry."
Hermione replied, "You have nothing to be sorry about, because I like those dreams."
Harry said, "Well, Ron doesn't like them. He doesn't want me to get ever get married."
Hermione replied, "Wow."
Harry said, "At times, Ron can be a little demanding, but in this case, I suppose it's okay. It's not like you and I are planning on getting married."
Hermione tried to hide her disappointment, while replying, "I see."
Harry could tell that Hermione was upset, so he said, "I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Is there anything that I can do for you?"
Hermione answered, "Propose!" She blushed, while saying, "I can't believe I said that."
Harry looked surprised, while asking, "You want to get married to me."
Hermione held hands with Harry, while saying, "It's certainly something that I've been thinking about. After all, you and I have been dating for a long time. If I might be so bold, I feel like things are getting serious between us."
Harry replied, "They are."
Hermione said, "Then what's stopping you from popping the question?"
Harry nervously blushed, while saying, "I don't know."
Hermione asked, "Have you ever thought about us getting married?"
Harry said, "Well, it's something that I occasionally think about. However, I try to not think too much about it."
Hermione asked, "Why not?"
Harry sighed and said, "The truth is that I've been wanting to propose to you for a very long time."
Hermione replied, "Then why haven't you?"
Harry said, "It's because of Ron. Deep down, I know that he still has feelings for you. I want to be with you, Hermione. I want to propose, get married and all that stuff. However, I fear that it would break Ron's heart. His best friend dating his ex-girlfriend is hard enough for him. I don't know if I can do this to him."
Hermione replied, "Harry, we both love Ron. We both want the best for him, but if we both want to get married, we have to do it."
Harry said, "But Ron would freak out."
Hermione replied, "I'm sorry, but Ron and I only dated for a short time. During that time, I often caught him flirting with other girls."
Harry raised his eyebrows, while saying, "What? Did Ron cheat on you?"
Hermione said, "No, but he didn't take our relationship seriously. I loved him, but he single-handedly led to our relationship not working out. I know that you and I being together must be hard for him, but if he truly is our best friend, he shouldn't try to ruin our future."
Harry replied, "I suppose that's true."
Hermione smiled and blushed, while saying, "Harry, I have to admit that I have a surprise for you. I've been wanting to give you this surprise for a long time. I believe that the right moment has finally come for you to receive it."
Harry asked, "What's the surprise?"
Hermione got down on one knee, pulled a ring out of her pocket and said, "Harry Potter, will you marry me?"
Harry was still concerned about Ron, but he knew that he couldn't turn down Hermione's proposal. He blushed harder than ever before, while saying, "Yes." He and Hermione exchanged a long kiss.
A short time later, Harry returned to his home. He looked incredibly happy, while walking inside.
Ron had been watching some cartoons, while wearing old clothes that were torn and were covered in chips. He looked at Harry and noticed how happy he was, so he asked, "What's going on?"
Harry said, "Ron, I have news. I know that this news will be hard for you to hear, but in the long run, this piece of news will be a good thing."
Ron folded his arms, while asking, "What's going on?"
Harry said, "Hermione proposed to me."
Ron grabbed a bag of chips and threw it across the room, while saying, "I can't believe that Hermione would do something like that."
Harry replied, "Traditionally, guys propose to women, so I admire Hermione's progressiveness."
Ron grabbed Harry, while angrily asking, "What did you say? Did you agree to marry her?"
Harry nervously said, "I'm afraid I did."
Ron grabbed Harry and threw him across the room. Ron asked, "What's wrong with you? What kind of friend are you?"
Harry said, "I'm sorry, but I love Hermione with all of my heart."
Ron replied, "That doesn't give you the right to marry her. You should be ashamed of yourself."
Harry got up and said, "Ron, I feel bad about this, so let's try to talk things out." Ron picked up the couch and used it to whack Harry to the ground. Ron punched Harry and went to his room.
That night, Ron got on his bed and closed his eyes. He was still very angry at Harry, so he had a dream where he was incredibly upset.
In Ron's dream, Ron decided to take a trip to Voldemort's castle. Ron had never expected to pay a visit to the world's scariest castle. He walked inside, while casually looking around. A couple of guards saw him, so they grabbed him and dragged him to Voldemort's throne room.
Voldemort was sitting on his throne, while petting his snake and talking to Bellatrix. He looked down and saw Ron. He had an amused look on his face, while saying, "So, Harry Potter's most incompetent friend has decided to fight me by himself?"
Ron replied, "I haven't come to fight. I have something to offer you."
Voldemort signaled to his guards to let go of Ron, while saying, "Come closer."
Bellatrix pointed her wand at Ron, while asking, "Can I blast him?"
Voldemort said, "I want to hear what he has to say."
Bellatrix replied, "Sweetheart, I really doubt that Harry's dumb friend could say anything useful."
Ron said, "Voldemort, I know that you've been looking for Harry. He's about to get married. If you want, I can tell you where the wedding is, so you can crash the wedding."
Bellatrix had a wicked grin on her face, while saying, "That sounds like a lot of fun."
Voldemort said, "Indeed it does, but why would Harry's bestie tell me where Harry is?"
Ron angrily said, "I'm no longer Harry's bestie."
Voldemort put on a fake mustache and started twirling it, while saying, "You've captured my interest. Ruining the most important day of Harry's life would be a true honor." Ron told Voldemort where the wedding would be located.
Suddenly, Voldemort transported himself, Bellatrix and Ron to an altar that was hundreds of miles away from Hogwarts. Voldemort looked around and saw Harry standing on the altar. Voldemort started walking up to Harry, while saying, "Hello, Mr. Potter."
Harry angrily asked, "What are you doing here?"
Voldemort said, "Today's your big day. However, the wedding isn't why this is such a special day. This is a special day, because this is the day that I get my revenge on you." Voldemort used his wand to blast Harry to the ground. Voldemort stood on Harry, while saying, "Farewell, Mr. Potter. He used his wand to put a deathly curse on Harry, while saying, "In a few minutes, you will die."
Harry said, "Before I die, I have to how you found me."
Voldemort had a smug smile on his face, while saying, "Your former bestie told me. If it wasn't for him, you probably would have gotten to live. His bitter jealously has cost you your life. You should have been more careful when choosing your friends." Voldemort and Bellatrix laughed at Harry.
Hermione walked up to Harry, while having tears coming down her eyes. She said, "Harry, this can't be the end. This was supposed to be our big day."
Harry said, "Hermione, I love you."
Ron felt guiltier than ever before, while walking up to Harry and saying, "I'm so sorry. I was expecting Voldemort to mess with you, but I didn't think that he would go this far."
Harry replied, "Ron, you are a bad friend. I never should have trusted you."
After Harry died, Hermione broke into tears, while Voldemort twirled his fake mustache and pranced around. Hermione said, "Ron, why did you do this? Why did you have to ruin Harry's life?"
Ron had his head down, while replying, "Because I'm the worst friend in the world."
The next morning, Ron opened his eyes and breathed several sighs of relief. He wiped some sweat off his face, while saying, "It was another dream. That means that Harry must be alive."
Ron ran into the kitchen and saw Harry making breakfast. He grabbed Harry and gave him a big hug, while saying, "I'm so sorry."
Harry replied, "Um, thank you, Ron. Is everything okay?"
Ron said, "I haven't been a very supportive friend. I'm sorry about how I acted. If you and Hermione want to get married, I'm okay with that."
Harry looked surprised, while saying, "Really?"
Ron said, "I loved Hermione, but I wasn't that great of a boyfriend to her. I might be reluctant to admit it, but you and Hermione are a good couple. I want both of you to be happy."
Harry replied, "That means a lot to me, Ron. I have something important to ask you."
Ron asked, "What is it?"
Harry said, "Considering how things have been between us, I felt a little weird asking this, but how would you like to be my best man?"
Ron answered, "I would love to."
Harry smiled, while saying, "I'm really glad about that. I've been wanting to marry Hermione for a long time, but I felt like I would be ruining our friendship."
Ron said, "You can't ruin our friendship. You, me and Hermione have a magical friendship that will never end." Harry smiled and gave Ron a big hug.
A few months later, an altar was put up at an abandoned grassland that was near Harry and Ron's house. Harry and his guests were wearing fancy suits. Harry even managed to convince Ron to wear clean clothes.
Harry and Ron walked to the altar, while waiting for Hermione. Ron looked at Harry, while saying, "I'm really glad that you asked me to be your best man. Voldemort would have done a terrible job." Harry chuckled.
Luna Lovegood, who was Hermione's bridesmaid, walked up to Harry and said, "I finished getting Hermione ready. I made sure that Hermione's hair looked lovely and good."
Harry replied, "I'm glad to hear that."
Ron looked at Luna, while saying, "After the ceremony's over, do you want to eat some cake with me?"
Luna answered, "Sounds good."
After Luna walked away, Harry looked at Ron and asked, "Are you thinking about getting back together with Luna?"
Ron said, "Luna was a great girl that I took for granted. Now that I know that I can never be with Hermione, maybe I can rekindle things with Luna."
A few minutes later, Luna walked Hermione down the aisle. Hermione was wearing a blue dress. Harry thought that she looked more beautiful than ever before. Both Hermione and Harry couldn't resist blushing, because they were both so excited.
Rubeus Hagrid walked up to the altar and said, "We are gathered here to unite Harry and Hermione in marriage. They are a perfect couple, but I don't have a perfect speech prepared. Because of that, we'll just get to the important parts. Does anybody object to this wedding?" This time, Ron didn't object.
Hagrid looked at Harry, while asking, "Do you take Hermione Granger to be your wife?"
Harry answered, "Absolutely."
Hagrid looked at Hermione, while asking, "Do you take Harry Potter to be your husband?"
Hermione answered, "Of course."
Hagrid said, "Then you are married. You may kiss the groom." Hermione gave Harry a long, passionate kiss.
After the wedding was over, Hermione looked at Ron, while saying, "Thank you for being so supportive about all of this."
Ron replied, "It's my pleasure. I'm really happy for you and Harry." Harry and Hermione both gave Ron a big hug.
Hermione and Harry got off of the altar, while Hermione smiled and asked, "Can you believe that we're married?"
Harry said, "It feels like something that could never happen, because it seems too good to be real."
Hermione replied, "You've accomplished a lot of impossible things, including saving the world from Voldemort."
Harry said, "I used to think that nothing could feel more satisfying than bringing down Voldemort, but marrying you gives that victory some competition."
Hermione blushed, while replying, "I'm thrilled to hear that." Hermione and Harry smiled, while being thankful that they had finally tied the knot. They looked forward to sharing the magic of marriage.
