She was shining more since the last time I saw her. She stood taller with longer hair blowing in the wind of the badlands. Her eyes were the same as before, but there were bags underneath them, like she was working hard to where she was now.

She's gotten in the way of a lot of Team Flare's plans for the pass few months, and this is my first time seeing her since then. Upon the first glance towards me, her tired eyes lit up when seeing me, even if I had the same uniform like everyone else that made us all look the same, almost.

"Calem!" She cheered, running towards me while trying to fight wind. I sighed and pocket my hands, watching her struggle to reach me "It's been so long since I've seen you!" She finally reached me and held onto my elbows, surprising me "Looking good! As always!" I blushed and looked away, unable to get enough of this flirting of hers. She's so straightforward.

"Hey, it's been awhile" I responded "Why do we always run into each other when I'm guarding?" She giggled, still holding onto my elbows since she's wearing her skates for some reason in this crazy wind.

"It's fate!" She laughed, struggling to open her eyes. I sighed and gave her my glasses. She fixed them on her face and dug in her bag to put the original ones I had on my face "that's better! Thanks!"

"Don't mention it" she took off her skates to put back in her bag "Let me guess. You're here to stop Team Flare from stealing the electricity from the power plants" she smirked

"How did you guess?" I sighed, unable to know if I have the ability to stop her. I can even see that she's wearing a mega ring for mega evolution.

She's my neighbor in Vaniville Town and had gone on an adventure to become strong and defeat Team Flare. I can only imagine what I'd be doing if I didn't give away my life savings and went on a journey with her.

"Just a hunch" I responded. She chuckled and kept her smile on me, watching me through my glasses

"You're still going strong with this team, huh?"

"Of course I am. I'm the one that made it possible for us to steal this electricity. I'm serious about this"

"But this isn't what you really want, right?" How could she ask me that kind of question when she doesn't know me? "Calem... I really think you can choose a better path. Team Flare isn't the group you need to surround yourself with. They're bad news"

"Why do you bother trying to talk to me about it? I don't care what you say! This team is going to make this world beautiful again! No longer will filfy people make the world ugly ever again" I turned away "I'll stop you, no matter what. We are not friends, Serena. I will do what I think is right"

"Do you think it's okay for me to disappear too?" I looked back at her looking down "I wanted to be your friend, because I see potential in you" I scoffed

"My potential is wanting to get rid of everyone" I faced her "You can still join Team Flare. It's not too late" she gave a sad smile and rubbed her arm

"My mind hasn't changed... I'm sorry" I shook my head, and walked away, not caring "I want to make sure everyone is happy..." I looked back at her frowning at me "There's more potential in this world than you think. Everything is beautiful. We all work hard to get where we are. I know there are horrible people out there, I do, but that's nature. We can't change people, even if you wipe out the world. There will always be someone who holds hatred in their hearts. It's never going to change" She came to hold my wrist and look at my hand "I'm sure whatever you experienced stayed in your heart for a long time, but you have potential to choose the path that'll make you happy" she squeezed my wrist. I felt her shaking a bit "Calem..." I took my arm back and moved away, watching her frowning at me

"Like I said. We're not friends. You don't have to say that stuff to me. I know what I want. I admit. You're quite strange to keep messing with me and wanting to get to know me, but this won't change anything" I thought of something in my head and hurried to look at her "If you want to be friends" I quickly took her shoulders, surprising her a bit "you have to join Team Flare. I'll be your friend then" her wide eyes slowly softened and looked down a bit, softly holding my hand on her

"I guess I'm the same... I can't convince you to be my friend, and you can't convince me to be part of Team Flare. I refuse..." I took my hands off her and walked backwards, taking out my Pokéball "Calem..."

"I won't let you get pass me without a battle" I took out my Absol. She continued to frown at me before agreeing to the battle and fought with me. She ended up winning... she didn't even have to use her mega ring to win. That's how strong she is.

I didn't say anything when she won. I purposely dropped the power plant pass and watched her pick it up. When she tried saying something, I ignored her and only turned the other way. She frowned and left to stop my team inside.

She's persistent in having me become her friend, but what's the point in becoming friends with her if she won't be around at the end? My dream of seeing a more beautiful world will become a reality, but I can't think of anything more beautiful than those eyes... they looked so sad when they looked at me.

"Why..?" I looked at my hand she touched before "Why did she have to show up and make me feel like this..?" Her sad eyes made me angry, but not in the sense that I hated her or anything... I just hated that she was sad because of me "Absol.." my Absol looked up at me

"Is something wrong with me? I sought for a better world with people who want the world to stay forever beautiful, but I hated seeing her looking at me like that. Her beautiful eyes saddened because of me" I pulled my hair and took off my glasses she put on my face "They still look new... she took care of them" I sighed "It's hard thinking about losing her when I never had her in the first place. I haven't even known her for that long and ever since I first met her, it's hard removing her from my thoughts" I closed my eyes "I just never seen anything so beautiful..."

It's been months since I've last seen her, and when running into her not too long ago, her beautiful eyes were covered with tiredness. She's been working hard on her goal. It's nice to see that, but I hated that she was sad because of me. Why me? Why did she choose to want to be my friend when she doesn't even know me? Was it really because of Fennekin?

"No... she saw me before she looked at Fennekin" I looked around "I was defeated, even if I got stronger. If that's the case, pretty soon, the gang will come out of the power plant to retreat. I think I better head out now" I removed my glasses and uniform and was left with my undershirt and shorts I had underneath "That's better..." even if I like the suit, it's too hot to wear

I looked back at the power plant and sighed "If you were going to keep running in my mind, I wish I won't have to keep running into you" I looked at Absol "let's go" we ran out the badlands and arrived in Lumiose city. I put on my beanie before anyone could see my hair and headed towards my apartment that was close by, thankfully. I think I need some sleep after experiencing a roller coaster of emotions I didn't know how to describe or know what they are.

I took a shower and sat on my bed, watching the city below my apartment. It was dark where I lived due to the power being off, and it's a pain in the ass, but I know it won't last long. Team Flare has been needing a lot of electricity, but they can't keep it from coming back. If Serena ends up defeating them by now, they would already have what they need and the lights will be on again.

"What a pain" I walked pass my dozens of candles lighting the place up and went to feed my Pokémon while covered in sweat even if I took a shower not too long ago "I can't wait for the AC to start working again" I groaned "I don't think I'll be able to stay after that happens" I finished giving my Pokémon some food and went to the window to make sure it was high enough to bring out as much wind as possible.

"It got dark fast..." I sighed and looked outside, faintly spotting someone walking from the badlands and towards the city. Not many people walk from the badlands, so I can only assume it was Serena since it's been hours since I've been home

"I wonder if she got things done" I watched her slowly walking, which seemed a bit odd. I knew there were a lot of Team Flare members in that power plant, so I can only assume she was really tired if she manage to get pass everyone "Can't know for sure if my team admin and scientist even got enough now. When will the power turn back on?" I groaned to myself, still watching Serena walk next to a Ralts, an unusual Pokémon to see in Kalos.

From the corner of my eye, I spotted some guys walking from an alley towards her. My feet jumped when having a feeling they were going to mess with her, so without a second thought, I dashed out my apartment and made it outside before they got too close to where she was standing, staring at the sky with her Ralts looking worried and pulling on her tights. She was in her own little world, not watching anyone or anything that can potentially harm her when she's not paying attention.

Before the guys got too close with those smirks on their faces, I spoke up "Serena!" She flinched and looked at me with swollen red eyes

"Calem?" She didn't even acknowledge the guys behind her and came running towards me and landed in my arms "I'm sorry... I broke your glasses. I had a hard time walking through the badlands" she rubbed her eyes with her arm. I sighed and looked at the guys starting to walk away, watching me behind their shoulders

"Come on, you shouldn't be in the middle of the streets at this hour" she nodded and took my hand to help her to my apartment. After what I said about wishing I'd stop running into her, I ended up bringing her to my place. What am I doing? Why am I letting this happen?

"I'm sorry..." she said with her eye closed. I chuckled and kept leading her upstairs

"They're just glasses. I still got my pair. It's fine-" I took her arm to help her climb the stairs better since she most likely has sand in her eyes. Her skin felt so hot "Serena?" She didn't respond, slowly ending up falling on me. I was quick to hold her in my arms and stared at her almost unconscious in them. It was hard to see without any light, so I tried my best to navigate without falling and finally ended back in my apartment... with a girl.
