Ryo and his oldest daughter, Anh Thư, have been training in the mountains for 6 months. Because of the internal energy she had developed from training in Hizoku's martial arts, she cannot do Ki exercises from Karate. Instead, Ryo focuses on conditioning her physical capabilities and techniques. For a 6-year old girl, Anh Thư is extremely fit, strong and fast, however Karate requires different type of strength and speed compared to Hizoku's martial arts. Before meeting her father, Anh Thư's techniques relied on overall swiftness, while Kyokugen-ryu Karate focuses on explosive movements and ferocity. To achieve that, "The Invincible Dragon" has cut all Ki training out of her routine, instead having her repeating drills, physical conditioning, Katas that develop muscle's explosiveness and endurance, and lots of sparring.
During these months of non-stop Karate training, Ryo's favourite disciple, Marco Rodriguez visits them every month to provide supplies and to report about the dojo's matters.
On the 3rd month, Takuma visited them instead. He stayed with his son and grand-daughter for a week, trying to pass his armed skills to the child. Takuma Sakazaki was a martial art genius, his martial art knowledge was not limited to hand-to-hand combat, he could also use Okinawan traditional weapons such as Bo, Tonfa and Sai. It was his biggest regret that none of his children and disciples could inherit his skills in weapons. This young girl was his newest hope, and she did not disappoint him. It seemed Anh Thư was already familiar with different types of weapons beforehand, she quickly picked up the fundamentals of her grandfather's weapon skills. Feeling that the girl was good enough to practise on her own, the Karate master gave her a manual of all his armed techniques and left.
Although Ryo does not have any agenda against weapons, he also has no talent or interest in mastering any of them. However, his daughter learning multiple Kobudo weapons does not bother him one bit. On the contrary, the Karateka actually feels excited to have someone using a weapon against him in his sparring sessions. On his martial art journey, he has faced multiple weapon users, but it's not like he can meet one of them everyweek. He still has Anh Thư focus on hand-to-hand Karate techniques, however the child can train in weapons and use them in sparring 3 days a week.
One night, when the father and daughter duo are having dinner, Ryo suddenly senses a creepy presence. The Karateka has faced countless warriors and assasins from righteous and unorthodox sects, but there are few of them that have this type of aura. Those few people are Lin, Dou Lon, Ron, Luan and A Song, killers from the Hizoku clan. However, he does not feel any killing intent in this person who is sneaking on him.
"Is that Luan?", Ryo wonders. The Hizoku should not have any business with anyone from Kyokugen-ryu school, and if they do, the will come with bad intention. The only Hizoku that would visit him for "good" reason would be Luan, the mother of his eldest daughter.
Ryo intends to tell his daughter of her mother's arrival. But before he could say a word, Anh Thư's tense expression informs him that the person lurking around them is not who he thought to be. If it was indeed Luan, the girl should not have this reaction.
The Karateka calmly stands up. He quietly channels Ki into his left palm, creating a ball of energy, and suddenly throws it toward a bush. That strike is "Kou-ou Ken".
From the bush, a person quickly jumps out. Their movement is as fast as an arrow, Ryo cannot tell who they are in the dark. However, Anh Thư has launches herself to the air, stopping that assassin on their escape route. And before the mysterious person could make their move, the young girl throws the first strike, she thrusts her right fist toward the opponent's face. The assassin raises their arms to block it. However, the punch was merely a feint, while their arms are covering the face, Anh Thư attacks the torso with a Mae Geri.
"Excellent!", Ryo shouts, his voice is as loud as the roar of beasts. This man is a martial art fanatic, he cannot hide the excitement of witnessing brilliant fighting skills, as well as his pride in the improvement of his daughter and disciple.
The two fighters, an adult and a child, land on the ground at the same time. The assassin was hurt by that kick, this should be the right moment for the young girl to continue her aggression. However, none of them make any movement.
"Unlike Luan, your techniques are too fierce.", the assassin suddenly says, the voice is womanly soft and gentle. "Your father's Karate has made huge influence on your style."
"You are my senior in West Venom sect's martial arts.", Anh Thư replies with a sarcastic tone. "If I use those skills, I will not be able to land a hit on you."
The girl said those humble words, however she was actually mocking the other person that they were one-dimesional and could not handle unfamiliar techniques.
"Indeed, I am not as talented as your mother or you.", the female assassin says as she slowly comes closer to the Sakazaki duo.
Ryo takes a look at that person. She is a young woman around his sister's age. Similar to other Hizoku members from West Venom sect, she looks pale, slim and unhealthy. However, she possesses a gentle beauty, the kind of beauty that triggers men's protective instinct. Ryo remarks that she is actually more lady-like than the women around him.
"Mr. Sakazaki, I am Xiao Lon, a junior of Luan.", the assassin introduces herself. "You may also know my father Ron, my brother Dou Lon and my master Lin."
