The little mermaid live action is coming soon on Disney plus. I thought of having Adrien be the merman and have the story almost like from the movie.

Long ago when Atlantis sank, Atlanteans became merpeople to help themselves breathe and survive underwater. The destruction was caused by a magical ring that has the power to destroy anything as long as the wearer wears the ring to perform that power. It was lost to the sea while the magic earrings of creation were lost on land. Who could be worthy of wearing those magical jewelry?
In the ocean, it was beautiful, magical, and filled with sea creatures along with merpeople to hide away from land people. Among them was a young merman around sixteen years old with blonde hair and green eyes. His people always think he looks so much like the queen, his mother. Some say he even acts like her. But his father was the opposite of his late wife. His twin cousin was a lot identical and they often pretend to be each other to fool their parents. But that was a long time ago when the queen was killed by savage humans the king calls them. From that day on, he banished his people from interacting with them.
Right now, Adrien was sulking in his room, playing with the 'artifact' he found from the surface. His father forbids him to ever go to the surface but the prince refused to listen. He always liked to collect things from the surface. His father's advisor lets him do what he wants to explore and grow, letting him be himself rather than let the king make decisions for his son.
"Now this artifact is special" Adrien examined his latest catch.
It was a Chinese ladybug-style locket of a little girl and her parents, "It's beautiful" He looked at it for a moment.
Whoever this girl is, she's probably grown up now. Maybe even more beautiful. He quickly hides the locket when he hears his bodyguard who resembles like a gorilla grunts in a gesture that Gabriel is expecting him.
"I'm coming" Adrien swims out of his room to let his bodyguard take him to the throne room.
He's so gonna hate to hear him talking about becoming king one day but Adrien did not want to be king. It would upset his cousin more because Felix is a better heir but King Gabriel refused to listen.
"Yes father" Adrien bowed.
"Your obsession with the surface needs to stop. You need to learn to take the throne. The people need you" Gabriel said.
"Please, father. I'm exploring my interests. Felix always wanted to be king, let him take the throne" Adrien said.
"He doesn't have the right to the throne" Gabriel replied sternly.
"I'm not worthy to be king, Father. I just want to be myself" Adrien said.
"I am your father and you will be king. Dismissed" Gabriel had enough of his son's resistance, just like his mother.
Adrien sighs and swims out of the throne room. Nothing could ever make his father understand that he just wanted to be free and create his own vision of happiness but his father never paid attention to him growing up ever since Queen Emilie died.
"Again?" Felix, his twin cousin asked how it went and he knew it was still the same.
"Yeah" Adrien sighs and swims outside the kingdom, "He's so stubborn and strict like always. Nothing pleases him but me to take the throne and I know for sure he'll use me to do what he wants"
"That's what I've tried to tell you. You need to stand your ground against him" Felix said.
"I tried, Félix. He never listens to me and he also doesn't listen to you. I need to be alone" Adrien swims into the open ocean.
"Poor cousin" Felix whispered.
Out in the reefs, Adrien saw several sea creatures like sea turtles, fishes, and some shrimps around.
As much as he admires them, he still wants to know more about the surface. All his life he was headstrong and brave to learn the land people with two legs. He even kept the book titled Human Anatomy to learn about them. He would read it in secret so his father wouldn't find out.
He kept wondering how the mysterious girl in the photo would look by now, "I hope she's more beautiful in real life" Adrien smiled.

On the land was a kingdom that belonged to a wealthy French king who married a woman from China and had a princess that would one day become queen. Although she wanted to find the true prince that loved her with all his heart. They thought she would bond with Luka but he decided to just remain friends with the princess.
Right now, the princess was feeling bored. She was looking over the horizon from her balcony. The beach was just too beautiful whenever she painted one to memorize the beauty.
"Well, one walk to the beach won't hurt" She heads out of the castle.
From there she sees her best friend with the boy she loves as always, collecting seashells for decoration.
"Hey Alya and Nino" She greeted them.
"Hey Princess Dudette" Nino said.
"Still doing that again? Seashells really bring a lot of attention and beauty to you" Marinette said.
"Just like the beach too. By the way, did you hear those rumors?" Alya asked.
"What rumors?" Marinette said.
"Rumors about a mysterious merman?" Alya said.
"Come on, Alya. It could have been a dolphin" Marinette snorts.
"I'm serious. When he dove his tail wasn't that of a dolphin, but a fish" Alya said.
"Okay. Maybe tomorrow night we can go on Luka's ship to find this 'mysterious merman' and see if he is real" Marinette using air quotes.
"Speaking of Luka, are you sure you guys are still friends?" Nino asked.
"I'm not gonna lie, he is charming but he is in love with music," Marinette said.
"And I thought he was your type," Alya said.
"That was just my childish crush. Besides, he and I are just friends" Marinette said.
"Alright. But it's worth a shot to explore the ocean" Alya said.
"And to get you out of that castle whenever boredom gets in your way," Nino said.
"Yeah, so when do we sail?" Marinette asked.
"When Luka is ready" Alya said.
"Okay. I'm just gonna soak in the breeze. And along with my snack," Marinette goes to the shore to let her bare feet touch the water.
What she doesn't know is that the mysterious merman was watching her while hiding behind a rock.
"There she is" Adrien saw her dip her feet.
She even held a box of macaroons to eat. Climbing on a rock nearby to have her snack. Adrien manages to get a closer look without being seen. She looks so familiar from that locket. Could it be her? He remembered the girl in the picture had bluebell eyes and dark blue hair.
"It must be her," Adrien said quietly and it startled the girl, dropping her macaroon in the water.
"Huh?" Marinette thought she heard something but there was nothing.
Adrien follows the macaroon falling down to the bottom of the sea, strangely for him that its sweets were dissolving a little in the water, making him like the sweet smell that he's never smelled something like this.
He grabs it and examines it, noticing it's food that the girl was gonna eat. There was no chance to give it back because he's seen humans don't drink salt water. He shrugged it off and ate it.
"Whoa, it tastes good," He thought while eating it.
But then, he spots something glowing underneath the sand of the ocean. He swims closer and finds a black ring on the ocean floor. When he picked it up it had a glowing green paw mark of a cat.
"It's beautiful" He puts it on.
