Sorry for making y'all wait, I took my time on vacation then got stuck on a certain part of this chapter, but all good now! Enjoy.
The mighty save chapter 8, tonight we strike part 2
'Skye!' Chase exclaimed, running towards her. The pup staying down after the hard impact, clearly hurt. Next to the man Skye had taken down laid some kind of device, Chase knowing what this was. He looked at Ryder, not knowing what to do. 'What do we do.' Chase asked.
'Make sure no one gets into this tent; don't worry I'll take care of Skye and Zuma.' Ryder answered. Chase took a few seconds to get his composure back and nodded. 'Chase is on the case sir!' He said before sprinting out the cave, running around it to make sure no one was sneaking in. Ryder laid down Zuma next to the meteor and turned his attention to Skye. The meteor giving of a blindly bright light, which luckily didn't last long. Ryder grabbed Skye, noticing a little chip attached to her fur, this must be how they try to drain power from the heroes now. Ryder then also laid her down next to the meteor, checking on Zuma. His breathing had become slower, and he seemed to already be in less pain, it worked! Even though the job was far from done this was already a lot of stress falling of off Ryder's shoulders. The meteor then became bright again for a few seconds. As the brightness disappeared Ryder looked at Skye, seeing the chip had come off of the pup's fur and had broken in two. The meteor's powers to strong for those devices made by humans.
'Okay Chase, everything is okay, I'm taking these two home. When I'm out safe you go help the others again.' Ryder reported over his pup tag.
'Okay.' Chase responded. Chase protected the quad as Ryder made sure he got Skye and Zuma safely on it. Then he gave Chase the sign and Ryder started driving, Chase taking care of anything that came in Ryder's path using his super speed and super bark. Ryder safely got out of there and went home, Chase returning to the others. Spotting Marshall using his heath blast to take down more off the wall to make it easier for police forces to come in and arrest the people.
'Has Humdinger or that friend his been spotted yet?' Chase asked Marshall.
'No, i think they're not here.' Marshall responded, taking out another man in the base with a heat blast who quickly gets arrested before regaining himself.
Annoyed Chase looked around. 'This mission is not over until we apprehend those two.' Chase said out loud.
'We will find them; they've got nothing after we are done here.' Marshall commented. 'How's Zuma?'
'It worked! He's not fully back yet but Ryder said he could immediately tell he was getting better.' Chase reported.
'Awesome!' Marshall said. 'Should we finish this off?' He said with a smile on his face.
'Waited for you to ask that.' Chase said with a smile, both pups continuing the fight, emptying out the base.
Meanwhile somewhere hidden.
'I thought you said those dogs were idiots.' The man in laboratory clothing said to mayor Humdinger in a passive aggressive tone.
'They are to me; they are annoying and ruin everything.' Humdinger stated.
'If you would've said that instead of telling me they're idiots I could've put in more safety precautions, now we've lost everything.' The man said, very mad.
'Wait, what happened?' Humdinger said.
'Those so called "idiot pups" have taken over our base, the last few chips are being destroyed right now. We've lost.' The man said.
'Aahhhh those pups will pay! They will pay!' Humdinger screamed out loud.
'Thanks to you, they will probably find us soon and then we are done, you'll pay for ruining my experiments, you can count on that.' The man said, before walking off.
Chase walked the ruins of what was left of this crazy base, the other pups were also looking around.
'Has anyone spotted anything?' Chase asked the other pups as they came towards him.
'Not that I can see.' Rocky said. 'My metal detector hasn't beeped in a while, not for chips at least.'
'Alright, Ryder should be here any moment, then we can hopefully finish off this mess.' Chase said, looking around hoping to see Ryder. Then the sound of Ryder's quad appeared and came closer, the pups quickly getting excited.
'Hey pups, Skye and Zuma are okay, and Marshall will keep watch over them, how are things here?' Ryder asked.
'As far as we know all chips are taken care of, sadly humdinger and his new friend were not in the base.' Chase reported.
'Then we must get to work on that right.' Ryder asked, not waiting for an answer. 'Let's go catch Humdinger, again.'
'What's the plan Ryder?' Chase asked, ready to show Humdinger what he thought about this whole situation.
'We do what we always do, we search. I think the area where we first explored could be a good place to start.' Ryder responded.
'Then what are we waiting for, lets go!' Rocky said with excitement. Everyone getting into their vehicles and leaving the scene now populated with Adventure city police. At the scene the pups split up in group of two again. Chase joined Ryder and Rocky and Rubble went the other way. Chase got out of his vehicle and sniffed the ground. 'AAACHHUUUU' Chase sneezed loudly. 'got ya.' Chase said, following the trail. 'I didn't suspect Humdinger would bring his kittens along for this crazy ride.' Ryder thought out loud.
'I don't think they are with him, but Humdinger doesn't clean his suit enough, kitten fur all over it.' Chase responded, continuing to sniff and sneeze. 'There must be an entrance to where Humdinger hides around here somewhere.'
'That one rock looks pretty suspicious to me.' Ryder commented, pointing at an oddly placed rock.
'Good police work Ryder, what do we do now?' Chase asked.
'Best to let the police do the entering, they have a permit, we don't.' Ryder explained. Chase agreeing with him. Ryder called in the forces and a team quickly assembled in front of the entrance. A captain approaching Ryder and Chase.
'Thank you for the great work today, team needed it.' The captain said. Showing respect to the kid and pup.
'No problem, lets hope with this it will be over.' Ryder responded.
'I sure hope so too. The team is about to go in, you may go in when I give you the all clear. I'm aware you did more research on what these guys were doing.' The captain ordered.
'Yessir.' Chase replied with excitement, ready for this to be over.
The captain then gave a sign to his men, everyone getting in position before calling out to inside the building, a voice that sounded like mayor humdinger responding. Saying he is all alone. Moments later the team busts in with the power they have, screaming out orders and checking every corner of the small little workplace. Shortly after two men coming out with the Mayor in cuffs, taking him to a police car. It took a few minutes for the police to check the place, but then they all clear was given. Ryder and Chase walking in, looking at the things inside the workplace, all clearly pointing to the construction of what was used on Zuma and the creating of the chip. 'Looks like that is wrapped up.' Ryder commented as police had already grabbed a lot of evidence to use.
'Ryder, what about the man that worked with Mayor Humdinger?' Chase asked.
'We haven't spotted anyone else sorry.' One of the police men said.
'We'll keep an eye out, but i think with this place under control and Mayor Humdinger off back to jail. We have showed whoever that guy is why he shouldn't mess with us.' Ryder commented. Chase smiled as he liked that feeling. 'Come on, we have a final briefing to do with the mayor of this city.' Ryder said, Chase following Ryder, Rubble and Rocky joining them as they headed to town hall. The mayor already waiting with excitement. 'I see the mission was a success. Thank you once again paw patrol for keeping this town safe from greedy mayors.' The mayor said with much happiness.
'No problem, whenever a mayor causes chaos, just yelp for help.' Ryder said, the pups howling with excitement after Ryder said his classic line. Everyone goes back home, Marshall and Skye waiting for them.
'Did you guys do it?' Skye asked with excitement.
'The base is destroyed, and Mayor Humdinger is back in jail.' Chase said, his tail almost turning himself into a helicopter.
'Pawsome!' Marshall commented. 'As you can see, Skye is already doing much better.'
Skye does a backflip out of happiness
'Zuma is now resting, but he is also doing way better.' Marshall explained.
'Sounds good, i think we could all use a rest.' Ryder commented.
Everyone agreed with Ryder and the lookout went quiet as the pups calmed themselves down after this crazy mission.
