Chapter 7

Everything around him was dark. It reminded John of space. It was a never ending sea of black with light at the end. He felt peaceful, he felt relaxed. He could hear the faint laughter of Jeff and Mike. John was happy to hear they were still with him, Jeff kept his promise of never leaving him again.

All of a sudden, the entire image of his mind went red. The intense pain rushed through his head and down his spine but John couldn't say anything, no words could escape to ask for help. He was a prisoner of his own mind.

"Welcome back, John!" The evil voice said to John.

"I didn't mean to try and kill you on that day, yes I wanted to make a victim and you were the perfect choice. I invaded Tracy island and I will do it again. I promise!" The voice faded out and John's mind went back to how he liked it. Reminding him of space.

"Blood pressure rising into the danger zone, blood coming from his nose! What the hell is going on?!" Jeff had never seen Mike panic, Mike had no clue what was going on. Picking up his datapad, Mike started scrolling through the scans and test results to see if he had missed anything.

"There's no sign of increased intracranial pressure, there are no bleeds on his brain. Think Mike, think" Mike paced around the room trying to think of a reason John was reacting like he was. All of a sudden, John started fitting again just as Virgil and Scott entered the room.

"Dad? What's happening?" Virgil and Scott stood in shock at what they saw. John was intubated, bleeding from his nose and fitting. Mike was rushing around getting medication to stop the fit. Jeff ushered the boys out of the room, he knew he had to talk to them. How could he tell them the truth? His family has been broken too many times in the last several years.

"Boys, I need you two to focus on me. John's scans came back clear. Mike will find out what's wrong with John, I promise." A warm smile went across Jeff's face, hoping to bring some sort of reassurance to his two sons. Mike came out of John's room with a smile on his face.

"Hey Scott, Virge. Wow, you two have grown up. Now Virge, let's see if we can patch you up. And before you complain, it's only because I'll have your dad on my back." Mike nudged Jeff and grinned at him. Jeff knew he was right.

"What happened to John?" Scott asked.

"Oh Johnny? He's stopped fitting. I've cleaned up his face but I wanted to test something so I switched off his ventilator." Jeff's eyes went wide with shock.

"You did what?!"

"John's trying to breathe for himself, look." All three of them peered through the window to see John's chest moving up and down, disconnected from the ventilator. They looked back at Mike who was grinning.

"He's maintaining all his vitals as well. I think he'll wake up. I'm going to remove the tube and do his EEG. Whereas you guys, you're off to another room for a little while whilst I run the tests and I'm going to get a nurse to clean up your leg." They all breathed a sigh of relief, John was going to be ok. Mike showed them into another room in close proximity to John and paged a nurse for Virgil. Mike left them so he could start the tests for John.

"How are you feeling, son?" Jeff scanned Virgil's eyes with his own making sure Virgil reacted with Jeff's movements.

"I'm fine dad, leg hurts a little bit but other than that i'm fine." Virgil knew that they would run tests on him because as Scott would likely remind him, he passed out in the danger zone.

"Mike will run some tests on you, you know that right?" Virgil sighed deeply. Here it was, the smothering act.

"Dad, I'm fine. Just look after John. He needs us now." Scott rolled his eyes at his younger brother. Virgil sure was being stubborn. He passed out for goodness sake, he might have hit his head. He knew he wasn't in the same position as John, but it could have been likely.

He felt lonely again, he wanted someone to hold his hand. Anyone! He finally felt that he could take a deep breath in. He wasn't restricted.

John Tracy

Hello John

I promise you, I will attack Tracy Island and get international rescue.

I promise

Maybe I will kill Alan next

Thunderbird 5 to Tracy Island, Mayday! Mayday!

This time, nothing happened to John. No seizures, no nosebleeds, no pain. Mike just finished the EEG on John and removed the intubation tube. If the results didn't show anything, what was happening? John Tracy, a man of medical mystery Mike thought to himself.

Mike made his way to the other room where Jeff, Scott and Virgil were. He noticed Virgil was slightly paler than he was when he came in.

"Virge? Are you ok?" Virgil just nodded at Mike for his response which concerned Mike greatly. Virgil was never one for lack of words. Mike got his eye light out of his pocket and shone it in Virgil's eyes.

"I know you passed out at the scene, Virge, so you can't hide that from me. How are you feeling?" Virgil only smiled slightly, now Scott and Jeff knew something was up.

"I'm fine Mike, I promise. My leg has been patched up. We just need to know about John." Mike sighed in defeat as he put his eye light back in his pocket. He took his datapad out of his pocket and began reading the results.

"The EEG came back clear. I can't find anything wrong with John. All brain activity was normal."

"Normal?" Scott huffed. There was nothing normal about this. Something was wrong with his brother but what?
