Episode 268: Maxxed Out!

A couple of days have passed since meeting Nicholai again, and dealing the Invincible Pokémon Brothers again, so Sora and Kairi were doing some training. Kairi was training with her Skitty. While practing, Skitty has learned how to use Play Rough. Kairi has noticed how well her Skitty has matured since she first caught her.

"You know, you look ready to evolve into a Delcatty, Skitty," Kairi said.

"Nya?" Skitty asked.

"And if I remember right, you evolve into a Delcatty with a Moon Stone, so I just happen to have one with me," Kairi said. She tdug through her backpack and she found what she was looking for. "Here it is." She pulled the Moon Stone out of her backpack and held it. "Here." Skitty touched the Moon Stone and started to evolve. Skitty has now become a Delcatty right before her eyes. "Now, let's see what the Pokédex has to say about you." She took out her Rotom Phone to scan her newly evolved Skitty.

Delcatty, the Prim Pokémon

The evolved form of Skitty

Type: Normal

Delcatty is a popular Pokémon for female Trainers because of its sublime fur. Delcatty eats and sleeps anywhere it wants without keeping a nest for itself. When Delcatty's sleep is disturbed, it won't fight the invader, it'll just move to another spot.

"I have to say, your fur is very pretty," Kairi said. "Wouldn't you agree, Angel?"

"Eevee, vee," Angel agreed.

"Meow," Delcatty purred.

"Let's test you out. Delcatty! Use Assist!" Delcatty jumped in the air and a white orb appeared. She fired a Swift from the orb. "That was Angel's Swift. Let's try Play Rough!" Delcatty charged right at a Heartless dummy and gave it a series of beatings. "Nicely done, Delcatty." Delcatty went up to Kairi and licked her face. Kairi giggled between licks.

Over to Sora, he was practicing with his Makuhita as he held out his pads.

"Okay, Makuhita, just like before. Give me your bust Arm Thrust! Go!" Sora said. Makuhita gave Sora some thrusts with his hands, so Sora held his own. "Keep it up, Makuhita! Go, go, go, go!" Makuhita kept on giving Sora his Arm Thrust. With one last push, Sora lands right on his tush. "Your Arm Thrust is getting better and better.

"Makuhita! Maku, Maku!" Makuhita said.

"Okay, now you're going to pretend that I'm your opponent. I'm going to come at you and you're going to dodge whenever I attack you. Are you ready?" Sora asked. Makuhita nodded. "Okay. Here I come with an attack." Sora came at Makuhita, but he rolls out of the way just in time. "Beautiful dodge, Makuhita. Now, here I come again!" Sora came at Makuhita again, but he dodges again. Sora came at Makuhita once again, so he dodged just in time. Sora smiled as he chuckled. "Does were awesome dodges, Makuhita! Good job!"

"Makuhita!" Makuhita said.

Sora and Kairi kept on training their Pokémon, getting ready for anything coming their way.

After a while, Sora, Kairi, Brendan, May, Max, Lisia, Rei, Pikachu, and Angel have arrived to the nearest Pokémon Center to have their Pokémon checked up. The Pokémon Center is located right in front of a beautiful lake.

"Hello, Nurse Joy!" Sora said. Nurse Joy approached the group with a smile.

"Oh, hello, everyone. Welcome," Nurse Joy said.

"Nurse Joy, I was wondering if you could have a checkup with my Makuhita? Nothing too serious, just to check on his physical condition," Sora said.

"It's the same for my Delcatty," Kairi said.

"Of course. Chansey, Blissey, can you take the patients to the back for our physical examination?" Nurse Joy requested. Chansey and Blissey came and took the couple's Pokéballs and took them to the back for the examination. "It shall take a few minutes."

"Thanks a lot, Nurse Joy," Kairi said.

"We appreciate it," Sora said.

May's Pokéball opened and her Skitty has gotten out once again. Skitty looks at its own tail again and ran around in a frenzy.

"Skitty, you let yourself out again," May said. Skitty kept on running around in a circle right under Nurse Joy's skirt, but luckily, she kept it down.

"My, my, your Skitty looks great," Nurse Joy said.

"Thank you, but she should know better," May said.

"Yeah, Skitty, return!" Max said.

Just then, a boy walked in, looking every identical to Max in appearance, but he is older, taller, and has brown hair. He wore a green shirt under an orange jacket, white jean pants, and brown shoes. He was an angry look on his face as he watched the group trying to calm Skitty down.

"I got this," Sora said. Skitty gets right in Sora's face. "Or not!"

"I got this," May said as she took out a cattail. "Look, Skitty, look at what I got." The cattail tickles May's nose, making her sneeze. Max catches it and held it in front of Skitty.

"Hey, Skitty," Max said. Skitty calmed down when she saw the cattail.

"Way to go, Max," Kairi said.

"Eevee," Angel said.

"It's sure not easy calming you down, is it, Skitty?" May asked.

"Hey!" A voice yelled. They all turned to see the boy. "Keep it down, will ya! All that yelling is annoying!"

"Oh, sorry about that," Max apologized.

"Just because you have Pokémon doesn't mean you can do whatever you want, you know!" The boy said, walking up to the group. Max didn't like the boy's attitude.

"And you don't have to be rude about it!" Max argued.

"Zip it! And get out of here, now!" The boy demanded.

"Max, that's enough!" Nurse Joy scolded. Max was shocked to hear her say his name.

"Hey, how did you know my name?" Max asked.

"Huh? You're saying your name's Max?" Nurse Joy asked.

"Yeah," Max confirmed.

"Well, his name is Max, too!" Nurse Joy said.

"Wha-?" Max asked. "You're kidding!"

"So there are two Maxes?" May asked.

"Just like there are two Soras. The only difference between the two of us is that I'm a guy and the other one is a girl," Sora said.

"You made a solid point with that one," May said.

"There won't be two Maxes for long! Change your name, kid!" The brown-haired Max said.

"What are you talking about? Why don't you change YOUR name?" The blue-haired Max asked.

"Look, I'm Max!" The brown-haired Max argued.

"Yeah, I'm Max, too!" The blue-haired Max argued back.

"Look, you wanna fight?" The brown-haired Max challenged!"

"Bring it on!" The blue-haired Max said, getting at it. Nurse Joy broke them up.

"Knock it off!" Nurse Joy said, breaking them up. The two Maxes just glared at each other and stormed off with a huff.

"What's his problem?" Max asked.

"Max, could you try to go easy on him?" Nurse Joy asked. Max just looked at her. "You like Pokémon, don't you, Max?"

"Yeah," Max replied.

"Well, Max loves them, too. And he comes here all the time just to play with them," Nurse Joy said.

"He did have lots in common, so it's only fair that the two of them gets along. Sora, why don't you and the others go find Max just so Max can get along with him?" Rei suggested.

"Okay," Sora said.

"I don't remember asking for your help. I don't care about him," Max said, crossing his arms.

"You'd never know, Max. You might like him when you get to know him," Rei said.

"She's right. Life is too short to hold a grudge over something so pity as a name," Kairi said.

"Yeah, you met the other Sora, but you didn't see me butting heads with her, right?" Sora asked.

"No, I didn't," Max said.

"So why not give him a chance?" Sora suggested.

"If it's going to get you guys off my back, I'll do it, but I won't like it," Max said.

"Nobody's forcing you to like it," Sora said.

Meanwhile, the brown-haired Max sat by himself by the lake, still steamed about earlier.

Meanwhile, a man is seen hiking through the woods, whistling a tune. As he whistled, he was unaware of something watching him. He stopped whistling when he heard the sound of a snapping twig. He looked around.

"Must be a wild Pokémon. Could it be a Linoone or maybe a Breloom?" The man asked as he proceeded to look around. He took out a Great Ball and held it tightly. As he looked around, he heard a light growl. He stopped in his place as he looked around. He waited for a while until he saw something jump from between the trees. It was a Heartless. It is a huge purple ape resembling a cross between a gorilla, a sloth, and a mandrill. It has the Heartless yellow eyes on its gray face and has a hot pink mouth with a green tongue and four fangs. To the sides of its mouth are yellowish-gray mustache-like hairs, and it has a single horn on its forehead. It has tan long legs and feet with two pairs of claws on his feet. Pink stripes run down his back in a zigzag pattern. It has silver scythes for hands which have darker gray edges on their tops. The Heartless emblem is located on its chest. This Heartless shall be known as the Kirisakin. The man screamed when he saw the monstrous creature. "A monster!"

Back with the group, May and Max have separated from the rest of the group for a bit. May jumped on a small rock, stretching her arms.

"I feel great!" May said. Max was still mad about earlier.

"Must be nice to not have a care in the world," Max said. May turned to her brother. "I'm mad, okay? The nerve of that guy having the same name as me!"

"Forget all of that, Max. Sora, Kairi, and Master Rei said to give him a chance," May reminded her little brother.

"I only said that just to get them to clam up!" Max said.

"You know, you sound just like a kid," May said.

"I am a kid," Max said.

"Oh, so you are," May said. A Surskit skids on the lake, catching the attention of the siblings.

"Awesome, a Surskit!" Max said.

"Look at how cute it is," May said, taking out her Rotom Phone and scanned it.

Surskit, the Pond Skater Pokémon

Type: Bug/Water

Surskit inhabits ponds, rivers, and similar wetlands. They move about, skating the water's surface.

Surskit skids right towards the brown-haired Max as he sat by himself. He spots Surskit and smiled.

"Yo, hey, Surskit!" The brown-haired Max called out. Surskit skids right up to him when he jumped off the rock he was sitting on and bends down. "Hi! So you wanna have some more fun today?" May and the blue-haired Max spotted him.

"Look! It's Max. Let's go," May said.

"Nah," the blue-haired Max said, crossing his arms.

"Don't you want to get a closer look at Surskit?" May asked.

"I guess," the blue-haired Max said.

"Well, let's go!" May said, taking her brother's hand.

"Hey!" The blue-haired Max yelped.

"Surskit, what do you wanna play today, huh?" The brown-haired Max asked.

"Hey, Max!" May called out. The brown-haired Max saw the siblings coming.

"Why are you hanging around?" The brown-haired Max asked.

"Cuz I feel like it!" The blue-haired Max argued.

"Get out of here!" The brown-haired Max said.

"Yeah, what are you gonna do if I don't?" The blue-haired Max asked, daring the brown-haired Max. May intervened.

"Okay, let's take it down a notch before we do something we'll regret later," May said, breaking the two Maxes up. "So, Max, does that Surskit belong to you?"

"It's my very favorite Pokémon," the brown-haired Max said, crossing his arms.

"I guess that means you have some other Pokémon as well, huh?" May asked.

"Maybe, maybe not," the brown-haired Max said. The blue-haired Max approached Surskit as he chuckled.

"Surkit's great," the blue-haired Max said, attempting to pet it.

"Hands off!" The brown-haired Max said, slapping the blue-haired Max's hand. "I'm sure you're on you're way somewhere else! Why don't you get there quick!"

"We'll go when we want!" The blue-haired Max argued.

"Yeah?" The brown-haired Max argued back.

"Max, would you stop it?" May asked.

"Stop what?" Both Maxes asked.

"Sorry, I'm talking to Max," May said.

"Yeah, so?" Both Maxes asked.

"Oh, I'm getting myself mixed up!" May exclaimed.

"Like you're the only one," a familiar voice said. May and the Maxes saw it was Sora, Kairi, Brendan, Lisia, Pikachu, and Angel. The voice was Sora's. "But hard to believe you're still going at it."

"It's pretty silly," Kairi said.

"Silly?! Why don't you butt out?" The brown-haired Max asked.

"She can say what she wants! You think you own this lake?" The blue-haired Max asked.

"What did you say?!" The brown-haired Max snapped at the blue-haired Max.

"You heard me!" The blue-haired Max snapped back.

"What are you going to do?" The brown-haired Max dared.

"What are you going to do?" The blue-haired Max dared back.

"Okay, Max and Max, enough's enough!" Sora said. "How about we take a deep breath before we have a fight on our hands?" The two Maxes just glared at him. "How about we let out our Pokémon just so they can get acquainted with Max here?"

"That's a wonderful idea," Lisia agreed. Lisia took out her Pokéball and tossed it up in the air. "Come out, Ali!" Her Pokéball opened and Ali came right out. Sora took out his Pokéballs and let out Taillow, Torchic, Treecko, Marshtomp, Absol, Corphish, Numel, Trapinch, Makuhita, Lotad, and his Kirlia. Kairi has took out her Pokéballs and let out Plusle, Minun, Roselia, Illumise, Volbeat, Swablu, Masquerain, Kecleon, Milotic, Delcatty, and her own Kirlia. May has let out her Torchic, Beautifly, Swablu, and Skitty. Brendan has let out Grovyle, Trapinch, Graveler, Mudkip, Zubat, and Dustox. Pikachu and Angel stood with the others. The brown-haired Max was awestruck when he saw so many at once.

"Wow. A Pikachu, an Eevee, two Kirlia, two Swablu, two Torchic, two Trapinch, a Taillow, a Madshtomp, a Treecko, an Absol, a Numel, a Makuhita, a Lotad, a Corphish, a Masquerain, a Volbeat, an Illumise, a Kecleon, a Milotic, a Roselia, a Skitty, a Delcatty, a Plusle, a Minun, a Beautifly, a Dustox, a Grovyle, a Mudkip, a Graveler, a Zubat, and an Altaria. I never seen so many Pokémon in one place before," the brown-haired Max said.

"Uh-huh. One day, I'm going to catch my own Pokémon and become a Gym Leader," the blue-haired Max said.

"Well, that's cool. And so is this. There is nothing in the world I'd rather do rather than hang out with tons of Pokémon," the brown-haired Max said.

Skitty took a look at her tail again and chased it around again.

"Here we go again," Sora said.

"May, the cattail," Brendan said.

"Oh, yeah!" May said, taking out the cattail. "Skitty, look what I have." Skitty stopped. She yawned and fell right to sleep.

"It goes crazy and then falls asleep?" The brown-haired Max asked.

"Pretty much. Skitty's full of more energy than a hyperactive Magikarp," Brendan said. Rustling is heard as from the nearby bushes. "Something's coming!" Sora, Kairi, May, and Lisia flinched, assuming it could be an attack from the Heartless, the Nobodies, the Unversed, Zell, Vanitas, or Organization XIII.

"Not now," Kairi said.

"Stay alert," Sora said. Sora and Kairi's Pokémon nodded as they get ready. Out of the bushes came the man from before. His clothes were pretty torn, but he had a fearful look on his face. "Hey, you okay?"

"I wish I could say I am," the man said.

"What's wrong? You look like you saw a ghost," Brendan said.

"I-I-I-I-I w-w-w-w-w-" the man struggled to say.

"You were what?" Lisia asked.

"Try to stay calm. What happened out there?" Kairi asked. The man managed to get his nerves together, but completely.

"I was attacked," the man said.

"Attacked?" May asked.

"You think a wild Pokémon just attacked him?" The brown-haired Max asked.

"No, it wasn't a Pokémon. It was something else," the man said.

"Something else?" The brown-haired Max asked.

"What attacked you?" Sora asked.

"I was attacked by a monster in the forest. It was big and furry! It has these blades on its arms and it has these yellow eyes. Those lifeless yellow eyes," the man said.

"A monster? You sure it wasn't a Pokémon?" The brown-haired Max asked, feeling skeptical.

"That's what I thought it was at first, but it didn't look like any I ever saw. It chased me through the woods, but I think I lost it," the man said.

"Oh, this is great. This is what we didn't need," Sora said.

Suddenly, the Kirisakin jumped out of the bushes and attacked.

"THAT'S THE MONSTER!" The man screamed as he ran. Surskit got frightened of the Heartless and skated off to safety.

"What is that thing?!" The brown-haired Max exclaimed.

"A HEARTLESS!" The blue-haired Max exclaimed.

"Take it down!" Sora said, summoning his Keyblade. Kairi, Brendan, and May summoned their Keyblades as well. The Kirisakin attacked the Keyblade wielders by swinging its blades at them, but they managed to dodge the blades. It lunged right towards the ground, kicking up rocks. Pikachu fired a Thunderbolt, hitting the Heartless on the mark, but it swings at the Mouse Pokémon, so Corphish fired Bubble Beam right at the Kirisakin, hitting it. The Kirisakin swung its blades right at May, but she managed to block with her Keyblade, so Brendan casts a stone spell, hitting it. The Kirisakin has taken some abuse from the Keyblade wielders and the Pokémon, so it started to retreat.

"It took off!" Brendan said.

"We better go after it, because that Heartless will attack someone else if we just leave it alone," Sora said.

"He's right. We can't let that happen," May said.

"No!" The brown-haired Max cried. Everyone turned to him and saw Surskit gone. "Surkit's gone!"

"Surskit must have taken off when that Heartless attacked," Lisia said.

"And you'd be right. Look!" Kairi said, pointing to the other side of the lake. A trail of water is seen coming from the water. "Surskit mist have been really scared if he ran away like that."

"This isn't good. Surskit's a sitting Ducklett unless we help him!" Brendan said.

"With that Heartless out on the loose, we're not taking chances," Sora said.

"I'm going to find Surskit," the brown-haired Max said.

"I'm surprised he actually cares so much," the blue-haired Max said. May turned to her brother.

"What?" May asked.

"Well, I guess he has a heart after all," the blue-haired Max said.

"Yeah," May agreed.

"He sure does," May agreed.

"He won't for long if that Heartless gets him," Brendan said.

"Brendan's right. That's why we gotta help Max find his Surskit before that Heartless does," Sora said.

"Yeah," the blue-haired Max agreed.

Over to the brown-haired Max, he is searching fratically for Surskit. He was worried that the Kirisakan might have gotten to him.

"Surskit, where are you?! Surskit!" The brown-haired Max called out.

"Max!" Kairi called out.

"Wait up!" Lisia said. He turned to see the group.

"What are you guys doing following me?" The brown-haired Max asked.

"Well, we want to help you find Surskit," the blue-haired Max replied.

"Huh?" The brown-haired Max asked.

"So let's go. Surskit's a good friend of yours, isn't he?" The blue-haired Max asked.

"Uh, of course," the brown-haired Max said.

"We'd have a better chance if we work together," Kairi said.

"Yeah, and that thing is still out there, so it's important to find Surskit before something bad happens," Lisia said.

"Good idea," Sora said. Sora's Rotom Phone starts ringing and he saw it was Rei calling him. He answered it.

"Sora, what's taking so long? You were gone for an awful long time," Rei said.

"Sorry, it's just there's a Heartless out on the loose right now, and it just attacked us," Sora said.

"A Heartless?!" Rei gasped.

"Yeah, but it was tough, so we're hunting it down before it attacks someone or something else," Kairi said.

"I understand perfectly. I'll head out and assist you. Keep your eyes opened," Rei said as Sora and Kairi nodded. Sora puts his Rotom Phone in his pockets.

"Okay, let's go," Sora said.

As the group started to make their way through the forest, the brown-haired Max just sighed sadly.

"None of this would have happened if Surskit and I have been traveling together like you," the brown-haired Max said.

"What do you mean?" Lisia asked.

"Well, see, watching you guys together gotten me thinking that traveling is fun," the brown-haired Max said.

"Yeah," the blue-haired Max said.

"The thing is, Surskit's not really my Pokémon. He's actually a wild Surskit that lives at the lake," the brown-haired Max explained.

"Really, Max? I thought you were a Pokémon Trainer," the blue-haired Max said.

"I wish. Here I was, thinking Skitty was your Pokémon when it was actually May's Pokémon. I guess I was being mean because I thought you were making fun of me," the brown-haired Max said.

"Well, we weren't. You shouldn't jump to conclusions, Max," Kairi said.

"Yeah, I know. And I'm sorry. The other thing is, I was a little bit jealous, too. I mean, you get to travel all over the place with all those cool Pokémon," the brown-haired Max said.

"You? Jealous?" May asked.

"You know what? I was jealous of you," the blue-haired Max said.

"What? Why?" The brown-haired Max asked.

"Because, you got that cool Surskit that you love," the blue-haired Max said.

"Yeah, you're right," the brown-haired Max agreed. "You know, that's so weird. A couple of jealous Maxes. Go figure."

"Yeah, right," the blue-haired Max said. They both laughed.

"Well, it's about time, guys," May said.

"We knew you'd break the ice sooner or later," Brendan said.

"Max, is there any place Surskit likes to be?" Kairi asked.

"I think I do. Surskit likes to be in areas that are wet," the brown-haired Max said.

"That works out for us," Brendan said.

"It sure does," Lisia said.

The group continued on through the woods, finding a small river. It was a good clue as any. They followed it to see Surskit occupying a small pond. The brown-haired Max's face lit up.

"Surskit!" The brown-haired Max happily exclaimed.

"Surskit, Surskit!" Skurskit said. He jumped in the pond.

"Surskit, are you okay? Are you hurt?" The brown-haired Max asked.

"Surs," Surskit said.

"Isn't that great?" The blue-haired Max asked.

"Sure is," May agreed. The group looked at the pond and saw it had two different water levels.

"This pond has two different water levels," the blue-haired Max said.

"You're right, pretty cool," May agreed.

A roar is heard as the Kirisakin springs out of the trees and stood before the group.

"It's that Heartless again!" Kairi gasped.

"Kairi, May, Brendan, let's take it down! Lisia, you and the Maxes stay back!" Sora said.

"Okay," Lisia said. She ran up to the Maxes and pulled them away from the danger zone. "Let's go!"

"What about them?" The brown-haired Max asked.

"They got this. They can handle that Heartless," the blue-haired Max said.

Sora, Kairi, Brendan, and May summoned their Keyblades as they got ready to fight it. The Kirisakin lunged at the group, but they managed to dodge. Sora threw his Keyblade at the Kirisakin, but it blocked with its blades and then swung at him, so Brendan clashed his Omega Ruby Groudon against the blades.

"Not today, you big, ugly furball!" Brendan said. He managed to push back, but the Kirisakin kept on slashing at Sora and Brendan as Pikachu and Angel dashed at the large Heartless with a Quick Attack combo. Kairi casts a thunder spell, but it dodged as May came at it and swung her Alpha Sapphire Kyogre at the Kirisakin. It blocked with its blades, but the blades come right off.

"Got you!" May said. She ran at the Kirisakin, planning to finish it off, but its blades regenerates and blocked again. "Oh, come on! Are you serious?!"

Lisia and the Maxes were watching as the brawl raged on.

"We can't just stand here and watch it go down!" The brown-haired Max said.

"That thing is too much for them," the blue-haired Max said.

"I wanna help, but I don't have a Keyblade like they do, and Ash, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Leaf, and Miss Rei aren't here to help," Lisia said. The blue-haired Max looked at the pond's levels and he gets an idea.

"Hey, Max, think we can shatter that rock over there?" The blue-haired Max suggested. Lisia and the brown-haired Max looked at the rock.

"How are going to do that? That rock is huge," Lisia asked.

"Maybe, but Surskit's got just the move that'll work," the brown-haired Max said. He placed Surskit down. "Surskit! Break the rock with your Water Pulse!" Surskit unleashed a Water Pulse and sent over to the rock, making the water come rushing out. Sora, Kairi, Brendan, May, Pikachu, and Angel saw the water coming.

"Surf's up!" Sora exclaimed. Pikachu and Angel quickly climbed up on Sora and Kairi's shoulders as Sora, Kairi, Brendan, and May jumped really high to avoid the water, but the Kirisakin wasn't so lucky as it ends up being taken by the water. Sora, Kairi, Brendan, and May land right on their feet.

"Did you just jump really high?" The brown-haired Max asked.

"We did, and I'm still not used to it," Brendan said.

"It was quite a thrill when I did it for the first time. It was like my body was lighter than air," May said.

"But that was a clever idea, you guys," Sora said.

"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said.

They hear the sound coming from the water, so the Kirisakin erupts from the water with a vengeful roar and rushed right at the Keyblade wielders.

"That thing just doesn't quit, does it?" Brendan asked.

"And I thought the Moron Trio were persistent," Sora said.

"Max, you do what you did before," May said.

"Okay," the brown-haired Max said. "Surskit! Use your Water Pulse on that monster!" Surskit hurls a Water Pulse, hitting the Kirisakin right on the mark, so May ran towards it and she moved her Keyblade high above her. She brings it down. The Kirisakin blocked her assault, but she pushed back and she managed to break the blades and strike the Heartless from the top of its head right between its legs. The Kirisakin fell right on the water. A heart floats up in the air as its body vanished.

"May, way to go," Brendan praised his crush. May blushed.

"Thanks," May blushed.

Just then, Rei appeared with her Star Cluster in her hand.

"Everyone, is everything okay? Where is it?" Rei looked around.

"You're really late, Master. May finished off that Heartless on her own," Brendan said.

"Really?" Rei asked. Brendan nodded. Rei looked at May and smiled. "Well done, May. You'll definitely go far as a Keyblade wielder."

"Thanks, Master," May said. "But Max, Max, and Surskit were the ones who really saved the day."

"Surskit?" Rei asked. She noticed the Pond Skater Pokémon in the brown-haired Max's arms. She smiled when she saw how close the Maxes were than before. "And I'm glad to see you two are getting along so well."

"You got that right. Me and Max are friends now," the blue-haired Max said.

"Yup, and Surskit, too," the brown-haired Max said. The Maxes both laughed.

A little while later, the sun was starting to set.

"Well, Max, it's time for us to get going," the blue-haired Max said.

"Okay, but someday, my Surskit and I are going to be traveling, too. And when meet back up again, let's you and me have a battle?" The brown-haired Max asked. The blue-haired Max nodded.

"And meanwhile, I'll keep searching around until I've found my own favorite Pokémon, just like you found your Surskit," the blue-haired Max said. The Maxes shook hands.

With that done, they said their goodbyes to the brown-haired Max and continued on their way on their journey as the Maxes have forged a new friendship. The journey towards Mauville City for the Battle Dome is closer than ever, so stay tuned!
