Paige stood in the entrance area of Degrassi. JT was talking to some dark skinned mystery woman. Seeing him talk to her annoyed Paige but something about this girl seemed familiar. Manny walked up next to her, also surprised by the scene.
"Wow, Liberty looks great since she went with the contacts!" Manny said impressed.
"Wait Liberty?" Paige said as she looked back at the girl. Suddenly she recognized her as Liberty. She had ditched her glasses but she looked so different despite a small change, but as JT had taught her, such a small difference worked for Superman.
As she stood there dumbfounded still, JT and Liberty walked over to her. "Hey Paige." JT said.
"Hey. Liberty, you look great. I didn't even recognize you at first." Paige said, still impressed
"Thank you Paige, coming from you that means a lot." She said as if a compliment from Paige was a huge honour.
"We actually had something we wanted to ask you." JT said.
"What is it?" Paige asked, curious if this related to the glasses
"Now that I can see a lot better and I don't have to worry about breaking my glasses...I was kind of interested in trying out for the spirit squad. I know it's a long shot but it couldn't hurt to try I guess, right?" Liberty said, JT looked at her with a look of pride.
"Oh of course we can set up a try out, I can't go easy on you just cause you're my friend's girlfriend though. You have to do your best or it will seem like nepotism" Paige stated.
"Thank you Paige." She said excited as the two of them headed off together. Paige felt annoyed at the situation.
At lunch Paige found herself sitting with Emma, Manny, and Toby. She couldn't ignore JT's absence as she saw him sitting at a table alone with just Liberty.
"So explain why they're sitting alone, aren't they both part of your little group?" Paige asked, trying to hide the disappointment that he wasn't sitting with them.
"Yeah she was until someone had to go and say something." Toby said looking at Emma, annoyed who looked down in shame. "What happened?" She said, confused.
"Me and Chris broke up, but I didn't want him dating her because of how people would react to him dating her next..." Emma said, sounding embarrassed. Paige herself had been guilty of that but she also recognized how toxic the idea is, she was in no position to judge Emma for it.
She returned to watching JT and Liberty, it was a strange feeling, she wasn't jealous but his presence had been a constant source of comfort since her recent problems started. She felt a jittery sensation in her stomach, not sure if it was related to her anxiety from recent events or anything else. She hoped it was nothing, she didn't need more stress.
Paige found herself walking through the halls of Degrassi but everything seemed hazy, she felt as if someone else was controlling her body but she was still seeing using her own eyes. The first people she saw were Jay and Alex.
"Who does he think he is with that backwards cap, Luke Danes? He'd be so lucky to work in a restaurant. And her, maybe next time Causegirl kicks her ass she can do something about that nose. Wonder what secrets she is hiding"
As she turned the corner she saw Liberty's brother Danny and his friend Derek. Derek was talking big about beating up someone who had insulted him earlier. "Oh please, skinny white boy like you? If someone swung at you and missed, the breeze would probably give you pneumonia or make your skin come apart."
As she continued walking, the next group she saw was Manny and Toby. "Manny Santos, whose boyfriend is going to knock you up this year? Fortunately that Toby kid is good with computers, he'd have better luck building a girlfriend"
The final person she saw before her locker was Emma who was putting up some kind of flyer. "So between delinquent Jay, the guy who actually brought the gun to school, AND his killer she clearly has a type."
As she finally approached her locker she heard an announcement over the PA system. "There is a car that is double parked in a handicap parking area."
She just laughed amused at herself. As she opened her locker, the first thing she saw was her own reflection in the mirror. It was like herself but distorted, it seemed to be cracking apart but the mirror was fine. The sight caused everything to blur until she found herself in her own bed.
Paige woke up from her dream panting, trying to steady her breathing. As her breathing steadied she suddenly felt nauseous as she ran to her bedroom's private bathroom. She made it just in time as she heaved. She hated this feeling, ever since she was little she had this worry eventually she'd throw up something like an organ, even if she knew it was physically impossible. After Paige finished, she stood in front of the sink cleaning herself up. As she dried her face something unusual caught her eye on the sink.
"No no no no no no! Please no!" She panicked, recognizing the item, it was long, thin and slender but she immediately recognized it. She moved silently to Holly J's bedroom knocking gently until she answered.
"Paige? What is going on, it's 3 in the morning..." Holly j said groggily. Paige showed her the object she had found, the sight of it caused Holly j's eyes to widen in shock and she woke up immediately. "Paige...this is a pregnancy test...and it's positive." She said slowly.
"I think Heather's pregnant. Which I guess means...so am I." Paige said as her voice cracked. Holly J invited Paige into her room attempting to comfort her sister.
"When did it happen?" Holly J asked.
"It had to have happened when she was in control, I hadn't done anything for this to happen in months." Paige said, trying to remember.
" Is there any point recently you have no memory of? Anything big or minor" Holly J asked.
"Ashley's party..." Paige said slowly. Paige realized whoever Heather was with this started at Ashley's party that she had no memory of. She didn't know what happened but she knew someone who did who at the very least interacted with her at the party. She knew JT would help her fill in the blanks.
